Nationality: United States

Born: New York, June 6, 1960

Steve Vai is one of the fastest guitarists in the world today, he is a guitarist who is a role model for all other guitarists. However, not many people know that when he was a child he had studied piano and accordion and then started learning to play guitar. At the age of 12 he started learning to play guitar with a guitarist named Joe Satriani. He (Steve Vai) is known as one of the genius students and often plays in bands at several local events with Joe Satriani. fyi Joe Satriani is a guitarist and guitar teacher. Some of his students who have become famous are Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett (Metallica guitarist).

"I can't even imagine what my life would be like without him (Joe Satriani). When I was 12, a friend of mine, John Sergio, introduced me to all the music I didn't know about progressive rock from the 70s," said Steve Vai

In 1984, Steve Vai's album "Flex-Able" was released. The album contains 15 songs and this album is very different from Vai's other albums because his musical taste is influenced by Frank Zappa. fyi Frank Vincent Zappa or better known as Frank Zappa is a composer, guitarist, singer, film director, and satirist from the United States. And what's even more amazing, he created more than 60 albums.

He once replaced Yngwie Malmsteen as the lead guitarist in the band Alcatrazz in 1985. After that he also worked with David Lee Roth (former Van Hallen personnel) and recorded the albums "Eat 'Em and Smile" and "Skyscraper". Then, in 1989, Vai joined Whitesnake, replacing Vivian Campbell.

In 1990, Vai released his second solo album "Passion and Warfare". One of his songs entitled "For The Love Of God" was ranked #29 from the results of a survey of readers of "100 greatest guitar solos of all time" conducted by Guitar World Magazine. He also worked with Ozzy Osbourne when making the song "My Little Man" on the album "Ozzmosis". Vai wrote the guitar part of the song and Zakk Wylde will play it.

Steve Vai released several more albums including “Sex & Religion” (1993), “Alien Love Secrets” (1995) “Fire Garden” (1996) and “Ultra Zone” (1999). In the ultra zone album, Vai focused more on song composition and experimented with his guitar. In 2000 the album “The Seventh Song” was released, then “Alive In An Ultra World” in 2001 and there were many other albums after that.

In 1996 Steve Vai, his teacher (Joe Satriani) and Eric Johnson formed “G3” and did their concert tour. fyi G3 is a group with a trio of guitarists who change personnel every time they do a concert tour. G3 consists of several great guitarists such as Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Yngwie J Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Andy Timon. While the bass player position is filled by the bassist from the band MR.Big, Billy Shehan.

Steve Vai once held a concert entitled "Inviolate Tour 2023" in Jakarta, this American guitarist held a concert to promote his album "Inviolate" which was released in 2022.

Albums of the Week! The top spots go to Haunt and Hell Fire, who I got to see live on Sunday (they were spectacular!). I dabbled in some 90s nostalgia with GnR and Ozzy, gave some love to my favorite band (Skeletonwitch), and scratched my melodic black metal itch with Thulcandra and Hoth. I unapologetically love the new Metallica record, and had my first taste of the new Tomb Mold that dropped on Friday. Solid week.

Sergio Mendes RIO DE JANEIRO — Sergio Mendes, the celebrated Brazilian musician whose 1966 hit "Mas Que Nada" made him a global superstar and helped launch a long, Grammy-winning career, has died after months battling the effects of long COVID. He was 83.The death Thursday of the Brazilian pianist, songwriter and arranger was confirmed in a statement by his family."His wife and musical partner for the past 54 years, Gracinha Leporace Mendes, was by his side, as were his loving children," the statement said Friday. Au printemps 1989, la ballade rock Close My Eyes Forever est sortie, qu'Ozzy a interprétée en duo avec la chanteuse de rock américaine Lita Ford

La chanson a atteint le top dix de l'année aux États-Unis et est apparue dans tous les charts mondiaux, restant toujours l'une des meilleures ballades de l'histoire du heavy metal.

 Les albums suivants n'ont pas pu répéter le succès des deux premières compilations d'Ozzy, jusqu'à la sortie de No More Tears en 1991, qui a reçu le statut de quadruple platine aux États-Unis.  Les morceaux Hellraiser et Mama I'm Coming Home, écrits avec le leader de Motörhead, Lemmy Kilmister, ont été particulièrement populaires.

 Un autre album quatre fois platine est sorti en 1995: le chanteur, avec la participation de l'ancien collègue de Black Sabbath Rick Wakeman et Zakk Wylde, a enregistré le disque Ozzmosis.  Les musiciens ont fait une tournée internationale.

 Le disque suivant, Down to Earth (2001), est encore plus populaire, notamment la composition Dreamer, qui ne quitte pas l'air des radios pop.

Ozzy et dans la vieillesse reste fidèle à sa dépendance aux spectacles spectaculaires.  À la veille de l'éclipse solaire totale observée aux États-Unis le 21 août 2017, Osborne a organisé le festival de musique rock Moonstock dans l'Illinois.  À la fin de l'événement, qui est tombé sur l'éclipse, John a interprété la chanson Barkat the Moon.

 En 2020, le musicien sort le 12e album studio Ordinary Man, dans lequel il interprète la chanson titre du même nom en compagnie d'Elton John.  Une autre collaboration incluse dans la collection est It's a Raid, qui mettait en vedette le rappeur américain Post Malone.
