Hardcore feel this one today. I sent both of my adult children a txt today & told them that I never want them to feel like they owe me anything as I get older. The only thing they owe me is to be happyin their lives. I wish my parents had the same mindset, but my mothers been periodically reminding me for years "Oh you'll be taking care of me someday" 😑 I have feelings about that.

My take is that you owe others exactly what you owe yourself and no more. Love, care, respect, kindness, help, and acceptance. When you give someone all you can give, you're not giving it away, you're spreading it. Kindness is not coin, it's heat. The bigger your flame, the warmer those around you will be in this cold world. Keep this fire in your heart.

Know that I love you. Not because I know you, or expect love in return, but because you exist and you deserve to be loved.
