briefly describe your muse: nova’s the kind of person who’s a big piece of shit to people on the outside, but Very Emo on the inside - and he doesn’t like showing this side of himself to people. he had a pretty messed up childhood and is currently residing in po town with most of team skull. he also likes tinkering with objects!! his Dream™ is was to build something big for his pokémon, like a robot car or something - but he doesn’t believe in dreams anymore. he’s a say-shit-to-your-face kinda guy.

describe your pokemon(s) team: there’s no specific theme here, because he’s the type who’s like, “i like you, join my team?” - or had a very special experience with them (gastly, of which i plan to expand later on!!) he loves his pokémon more than anything else. 

your expectations for your character: i’m really looking forward to how he grows as a person, both in maturity and personality, and the way he views the world - and hopefully someday come home to face his parents to at least end things off with them properly.

I also do plan to make a 4th blog featuring Kaeton, but as of now the musing for him is very little was sort of last minute. As of now, the most complete blog is Velour’s. As hers was a work in progress for sometime now. Sublustrisnovae is also a work in progress, however, all I need are rules, an offical mun page, setting up tags, and most importantly, making the muses!

I am not dropping roleplay completely, I’m saying that right now. But due to school and Fates coming out, activity will be VERY scarce on this blog.

I loved Awakening as much as the next person, and I’m dipping my toes into canon characters for more interactions this time around. Here to transaction!

Sorry for not being on here guys. I’ve been busy with RWBY, and currently finding songs, finding a theme, and creating OCs for fates.

As of now; I am more active at Lancasterleadership, a blog with Ruby and Jaune from RWBY.

velvet-lupus is my Velour-to-be Blog.

And My Fates OC will be entirely redone. The theme stays, but characters are being made from scratch as I feel like the Awakening Muses are too Awakening-y to fully transfer over. I know I am roleplaying with a Camilla and a Kamui, however those were very selective choices. So forgive me if you have a fates blog and wanting to interact. Approach me as my IM is open to all and maybe we can get a thing going.

However, be very warned, when Fate is released I will be on my RWBY blog until I play through the game a little bit.

Hiatus; December

Well. This is it guys.

As much as this pains me to say, I really need to go on this hiatus for a few reasons, the main one being college. Semester Finals are on December 18th to 22nd, and break offically starts after class on the 22nd.

For this time frame from November 29th to December 22nd, I’ll be taking a hiatus. This is so I can focus on school work, loosing some weight, and hopefully stay above 3.5 in hopes of having good insurance. 

Does this mean I won’t lurk/reply? Goodness no. Knowing me I’ll be late-night blogging, doing replies, and accepting memes and what not over the weekends. However, I’m going to try and stay off of tumblr until then. As stated above, I need to do all of this before Christmas.

Am I pushing myself a little too hard? Maybe. But... How can one improve if their own limits are holding them back? I’m not going to sit around idly while I know I can improve so much in the course of a few days.

I’d to thank all of you for being with me the past year and a half. Truly you guys who followed me from my last blog to this blog as well. New followers as well. I just wanted to express my thanks to everyone.

I am quite busy because of college, as a lot of you may know. I just wanted to say that this is probably the main reason for my in activeness across all my blogs. Even though I did set a schedule for myself.

However, tumblr is a hobby. All that it is. I may not have the time like I did before, but regardless, I love doing it regardless. This blog is on technical semi-hiatus, but I am not consdering my blogs that. Not yet anyway.

I’ll be taking a small break from tumblr as a whole. Hopefully to better focus myself in other areas where I defitally need improvement. The first improvement, exercising. I don’t feel healthy with my current wait so I’ll be taking time off to hopefully go to the on campus gym to hopefully start a routine.

However, I will be on most weekends and night, as that seem to be the time I am fairly active. I’ll also be posting over the holiday break I’m getting from Tuesday afternoon until Sunday. However, I will be offline from Wednesday to Friday at most due to me hanging out with friends and family.

The best way to get in contact with me if you do not have my skype is currently Tumblr IM, I will be checking my phone periodically throug my absense, so if you’d like to roleplay and hopefully plot a thread, feel free to. I invite you to.

As for my current threads, and drabble winners, I’ll work on those this week. I would like to give them to you as Christmas Presents if not early Christmas presents.

Characterization Rant

It’s just me rambling with a writers mind. Under Read More.

I’ve actually been thinking for a long while now about Characters in general to be honest? Like, I have technically 19 of them, 18 if you can Avalon as one that simply has 2 genders and I’ve began thinking.

What makes up a character and characterization for that character?

I’ve thought about this question every time I made a new character, a new blog, a new scenario, every little thing that is related to my character, I thought about how they’d react. Is that what makes them more human that just a character on a piece of paper or on a blog? I’m not sure where I’m getting at with all of this, but I can tell you right now.

There are no original characters.

Before you stop listening and close this, here me out.

Every character that I have seen, Canon and Original, always had something that reminded me of another character. It is not bad, per say, it makes understanding it much easier to understand and to analyze. If someone already made an analysis on one character with the same trait, then that part of the character is already analyzed to the best of the readers/viewers knowledge.

I’m not going to lie, all my characters, as original as their stories may be, are all inspired by some other character that I thoroughly enjoyed. Leonhardt is the prime example of this.

Not only does he have my mindset and what not, but his name, Leonhardt, comes from one of my favorite games of all time. Record of Agarest War. In fact, I PLAYED that game before Awakening and I got Awakening because of how similar the gameplay was for me at the time. But I’ll say it again.

Leonhardt is a bundle of inspiration. All my other muses are as well. Zerah, Ajax, Hilda, even Rex was inspired by someone or one thing. But is that okay? Does that makes them any less original?

I say no. Why? Because characters are also humans. Just on a lesser scale. Why? Well, they think, they feel, and they also take action, just like any other human would. Sure, some people make characters be athletic when they themselves are not. Stronger, or even more intelligent than themselves. But this isn’t a bad thing, mind you. 

Recently, I came to realize why I adored the ship between Leon and a Robin for a long time, and that was only because I rediscovered ‘Percabeth’. For those who don’t know what that is, its an official ship name for two characters within the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series. I started to remember the characters of Percy and Annabeth, remembering how Percy was reckless and didn’t really think ahead, while Annabeth, being the daughter of Athena she was, thought everything through. Much like a tactician would.

I soon realized that Leonhardt and this Robin were very similar to that manner, even if Leon is a technically a ‘my unit’ character, he often goes into skirmishes without much thought. He only plans ahead if the situations call for it. 

But Leonhardt is still classified as an original character despite being heavily influenced by myself, other characters, and even the events that he’s been through. This is good. I like to say he is an original character.

But it is just like artists using a template. People know that ‘base’ and tend to shun them for it. Which I do not get. People with original characters are at the same mercy. They too are using characters as bases and going off of what they feel is original, which in reality is another character trope, whether uncommon or seen in every movie and or show. 

You want to know why characterization interests me so much? They’re like smaller humans. The only difference that they have hardly any free will. Myself and other people might say “Oh my muse is dying for blah blah blah” or my muse says this. In a way, that’s good. It gives more human-like characteristics that make them feel more human. They are human, with their own psychology and thought process. This is why some people can’t really get into character, because their thought process are not the same way. 

I said it once, and I’ll say it again.

Characters are like humans. They think, feel, and desire. They have their own characteristics, likes, and dislikes. They love doing a hobby, or they enjoy to fight. They are their own person, the only difference is that they are housed inside of your imagination, your brain. This is good. They are observing your world, and you tend to think as that character. 

Original characters and canon characters are humans. There are more to them than a meme that you’ve seen somewhere on the internet. Just remember that.
