A/N: some people asked for a second part so here it is. Maybe I’ll make this into like a mini series type thing!!

Part 1

Steve couldn’t stop smiling as he walked into the tower. He couldn’t wait to see you again but first he knew Sam and Bucky would be waiting to see what happened afterwards. Just as he suspected Sam and Bucky were waiting by the elevators. At least they had the decency to look worried that they ruined everything.

“So?” Bucky asks cautiously.

“So what?” Steve shrugs his shoulders and does his best to look upset.

“Are you going out tomorrow or what?”

Steve just shook his head as he walked toward his apartment. He had to keep his head down to avoid getting caught in his lie. At his apartment door he stops and turns towards his friends.

“If you guys don’t mind, I’d like to be alone tomorrow. Hopefully I can think of a way to fix this.”

“Yeah, of course. Whatever you need.” Sam says. “Call us if you want to talk.”

“Ok, night guys.”

Steve walks into his apartment leaving Bucky and Sam at the door. He just hoped it would work.

“We have to fix this.”

“Yeah but how?” Bucky asks as he and Sam walk out to one of the shared living rooms.

“We’ll talk to her on Monday. Let her know it was our idea not Steve’s. I know she likes him too.”

“Ok, but after this I never want to work with you again. You’re an idiot.”

“I’m an idiot? You should’ve known better, you’re too old to be pulling a stunt like this.”

“You know considering you’re the one that flies, you're a horrible wingman.” Bucky replies.

“I’m a horrible wingman? You’ve known him longer. You’re a horrible friend.”

They continue bickering for a while before they actually sit down and try to figure out what they’re going to tell you.

The following morning you found yourself looking at your outfit in the mirror. There was not a hair out of place, your dress was cute and had a 1940’s style to it you even paired it with heels and pearls. The buzzer goes off right on time. You grab your purse and head out the door.

“You look beautiful.” Are the first words out of Steve’s mouth when he sees you.

“Thank you, you look very handsome yourself.”

His cheeks flush pink but he smiles anyway. He’s dressed in a black three piece suit with a white button up shirt and a blue tie that just so happens to match his eyes. His hair was slicked back the same way he used it when he first woke up from the ice.

“Shall we?” He offers you his arm and you take it.

“We shall.”

The park that was holding the big band music festival felt like stepping back in time. Most of the crowd was dressed to impress. Women wore dresses and heels, some even had on gloves and hats. Men wore suits or something more along the lines of 30s/40s streetwear. There were stalls everywhere and a stage at the center accompanied by a dance floor. The best part was that no one really seemed to notice Steve or wanted a picture with him. He relaxed the further into the park he went.

“So what would you like to do first?” Steve asks as he looks around.

“I don’t know, this is your area of expertise.”

“Ok,” Steve looked around unsure of where to start just as the band began to play a slower song. “How about we start with a dance?”

“I’d love that.”

Steve leads you to the dance floor. One hand goes to your waist while the other holds your hand. Your free hand holds on to his shoulder and he begins to lead you in a slow dance. The look in his eyes is soft, sweet and almost loving. Steve holds you close while he rests his cheek against your temple and hims along to the song. A content sigh escapes your lips as you close your eyes.

“This is a much better date.” You whisper and can feel him chuckle.

“Yes it is.”

You smile up at him when he pulls back to look at you. Then he spins you and dips you. When Steve pulls you back up your lips are almost touching. You smile and close the very minuscule distance. Steve is taken by surprise but it doesn't take him long to kiss you back.

Both of you have matching smiles as the date goes on. You stop to look around the stalls and what was being sold and even buy some records. Including one that had the song you first danced to with Steve. Ever the gentleman he offers to carry your bags. You get some snacks that were popular in his time and he really opens up by telling you stories of his childhood and his mom.

By the end of the afternoon you’re sharing a booth at a diner. Steve sat beside you instead of across, his arm was thrown across the back of the booth and his attention was all on you as you spoke.

“Oh I meant to ask earlier. How did you get out dressed like this without Sam or Bucky noticing?”

“Well I actually set it up last night. I told them that I wanted to be myself today to think of a way to make things right with you.” Steve says with a rather proud look on his face.

“You, Steven Rogers, lied?”

“Yup. It was not easy.”

You giggled. “Do you think they’ll try to talk to me on Monday so they can fix it?”

“Oh absolutely.”

On Monday morning you’re busy with meetings and texting Steve in between them. When you get to your office a smile appears on your lips. On the desk is a beautiful floral arrangement, the card attached to it just says see you at noon and Steve’s initials at the bottom.

You look at your watch and realize you only have a few minutes before Steve stops by. After putting away the meeting documents and the tablet you normally use you grab a small mirror you keep in your desk and check your appearance. There’s a knock on your door and you allow whoever it is to come in.

“Hey, Y/N. How are you doing?” Bucky says, he flashes you a reserved smile.

“Do you have a minute?” Sam asks as he closes the door in order to have some privacy.

“Actually I am going out but I can schedule a meeting for later today.”

“We just wanted to let you know that the whole earpiece thing was not Steve’s idea. He’s a really great guy and I know he really likes you.”

“Oh ok.” You say as you grab your purse and start heading out. You’re trying to hide your smile as you head toward the door.

“Seriously Y/N,” Sam adds. “He didn’t really want to do it, we just didn’t give him much of a choice.”

“Ok.” You say as you open the door. Steve is standing right there and you can’t help but smile up at him.

“Ready to go?”

“I am if you are.”

“Well let’s go then.” He kisses your cheek before offering you his arm. “See you guys at training later.” He says over his shoulder.

Sam and Bucky stood there completely speechless, a first for the duo.

“When did this happen?”

“We went out Saturday.”

“To the music festival?” Bucky shouts the question.

“Yup.”

“Steve you little shit!”

“I can write you up for that Barnes.” You say as you turn to look at them. With a laugh you wink in their direction and get lost in the crowd as Steve leads you out of the building for your lunch date.

You sigh as you remove the heavy mascots head, a cool breeze from a fan chilling your flushed cheeks. You notice one of the basketball players standing behind you. Number 23. "I never knew you were a girl," he comments. "Or pretty."

It's been precisely two hours since you donned the bear mascot outfit representing your school. You only agreed to do it because no one else volunteered and thought it might be fun. However, the experience has been anything but fun. With only 30 to 40 minutes left in the costume, you are counting down the seconds until you can take it off.

The basketball jersey, hat, and shoes the bear is wearing are decorated with your school's logo, with the school's signature colors of yellow and green accenting the trim, number, and player names. You are thankful that nobody from other sections knows it's you inside the costume; otherwise, you would feel incredibly embarrassed.

You check the time and realize that 20 minutes have already passed. You hope the game will end in the next 10 minutes or so. A few students request a picture with you, and you oblige them. Five more minutes pass, and the game is nearly over. You can’t wait to get out of the mascot outfit and take a shower.

Sweat drips down to your ankles, causing you to shiver. This is the longest you have ever worn the mascot, 2 hours and 10 minutes.

After what had seemed about an eternity, the game finally finished. All of the players and spectators collected their belongings and fled. Except for a handful who freshened up or spent time with their friends prior to heading home, unfortunately for you, Kim Woonhak happened to be one of those individuals, for whom you were growing feelings.

Once everyone had left, you finally had the chance to rid of the ludicrous costume that had caused you to sweat profusely. Though you noticed a few lingering figures in the vicinity, you chose not to approach them, assuming they were likely teachers, janitors, or guards. As you removed the mascot's head, a cool breeze struck your face. you were taken aback to find Kim fucking Woonhak standing there, his jaw dropping and eyes bulging in what appeared to be an utter shock - as though he had just witnessed the most unbelievable thing in his life.  "I... I never knew you were a girl, or uhm.. uhh... pretty!" Holy shit. This is extremely mortifying. You can't even begin to express the depths of humiliation you're feeling. The fact that it involves Kim Woonhak, the person you've had the most obvious crush on since sixth grade, makes it incredibly, excruciatingly, so intensely humiliating. Is it just you or does it seem like the fan isn't working? 

"Thank... you?" The words slipped out of your mouth, your voice wavering with uncertainty. As you fidgeted with the bottom half of the mascot, your hands betrayed your nervousness. The expression on your face told the whole story - a mix of embarrassment, anxiety, and the discomfort of being caught off guard. Sweat trickled down your forehead, emphasizing the redness that flushed your face, a combination of the stifling heat and the overwhelming humiliation of the moment. Woonhak's unexpected presence only intensified your unease, leaving you at a loss for words. 

"Sorry, I didn't mean to catch you off guard. I-I was just checking if anyone was here since I was uh, gonna lock up the.. uhm... gym!" Woonhak stammered, his apology filled with genuine concern. He tried his best to shed the awkward tension that enveloped the air but fell short in his attempt.

"It's alright. No need to apologize," you reassured him, your voice trembling slightly. "I wasn't expecting anyone else to be here either. I assumed it was just teachers and guardians. Guess we both got caught off guard." You utter as you took hold of the lower half of the costume, a sudden chill in the air sent a shiver down your spine. The contrast between the hot and humid gym and the cooler surroundings intensified the discomfort, further adding to the already awkward situation.   

Woonhak nodded in agreement, his eyes still fixed on you with an intensity that made you feel self-conscious. You tried to disregard it, but the emotion only grew stronger. You wished you could just evaporate- or at least get out of this sweaty, reeking costume.

As you struggled to remove the rest of the bear suit, Woonhak stepped forward to help. You were grateful for the gesture, but it only caused you to feel more exposed and vulnerable. You tried to focus on the task at hand, but your hands were quivering so badly that you could barely get a hold of the zipper.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, you were unburdened by the costume. You took a deep breath of fresh air and felt the calm draft wash over your sweaty skin. You turned to thank Woonhak, but he was already walking away, his head down and his hands playing with the fabric of his jersey.

You felt a pang of disappointment, but you couldn't blame him for wanting to get away from the awkward situation. You gathered your things and headed out of the gym, feeling fatigued and embarrassed. you couldn't help but replay the uncomfortable encounter in your head, wondering if things would ever be the same between you and Woonhak.

As you make your way out of the gym, you notice Woonhak and his group of friends looking at you. Just as you try to avoid their gaze, he rides up to you on his bike, beckoning you to join him. "It'll be faster if you ride with me. Don't forget to take a warm shower, wouldn't want you to catch a cold. I want to see you tomorrow!" His words catch you off guard, and you can't help but feel a mix of confusion and excitement.

Up close, Woonhak looks even better than you remembered. His endearing smile and delicate demeanor make him seem like a big teddy bear. You hesitate for a moment, recalling the events that happened earlier, but ultimately agree to ride with him. "Uh, okay," you reply, your voice tinged with nervousness. Despite your uneasiness, you're grateful for the opportunity to spend more time with him.

As Woonhak makes his way down the road on his bike, he suddenly turns to you. "Hug me, so you don't fall." he says with a smile. You're surprised by his proposal, but you don't hesitate to envelop your arms around him. As you hold on to him tightly, you feel a sense of warmth and comfort wash over you. It's as if all of your nervousness vanished at that moment, and you can't help but feel grateful for his presence. Being in his arms feels like a dream come true, and you can't help but wonder if this is the start of something special.

As you ride on his bicycle, you can't help but feel a sense of security and contentment. The wind rushes through your hair, and the relaxed breeze washes over your skin. You feel alive and free, and for the first time in a long while, Woonhak's company is enough to make you feel safe.

As you reach your destination, you shift to thank Woonhak for the ride. But before you can say anything, he leans in and plants a soft kiss on your cheek. You feel your face flush with warmth, and your heart races with excitement. You can't believe that this is happening to you - it's like something out of romance fiction.

"Thanks for the ride," you murmur, your voice barely audible. Woonhak beams at you, and you feel a sense of belonging wash over you. Maybe this is the start of something special, something you've been yearning for all your life. As you make your way back home, you can't help but let out a squeal of excitement. You're grateful for the unexpected turn of events, and you can't wait to see what the future holds. But for now, you're content just being in the moment with the person who makes your heart skip a beat.

Autumn Bard - Hobbit Minstrel

Comfy minstrel vibes for a hobbit visiting the local farmers faire!

Another autumn themed outfit, this time build around Angolham. Only the sleeves dye on that chest piece, so I wanted to bring out the sienna colors of the plate. The Learned hat has rune markings along the ribbon that is a similar tone as the chest piece. To balance the visual weight of the hat, I used the matching Boots of the Learned.

Next I wanted to add autumn leaf details. The Elegant Holbytla Shoulderguards come in a lovely brown tones, and I added extra crimson on the leaf shape outline. One of my favorite cloaks -- Cloak of the Autumn Traveller -- is a fantastic cloak with clear leaf details too. And it dyes beautifully. One more leaf detail is the Tawarwaith leggings. This piece dyes a little greyer, so I went with crimson for a more burgundy-ish result.

This outfit is not very sharp in terms of trim details or color blocking. So for the gloves, I went with the light Bard gloves, which have a more natural sienna-ish detailing, along with a little fur trim.

Of course, for a minstrel, a suitable instrument is a must. The Bardic fiddle comes in a rich mahogany color, with a bright trim that is similar to the leaf trim of the cloak.

Blood Amber - Hobbit Burglar

I felt that an all-black classic burglar ensemble stood out much more than a more natural colored outfit in the Vales, so for this region, my burglar went questing with a comfortable adventure attire in some warm earthy tones. She blends in with the wildflowers! (In theory, not in actuality, as there were some red flowers around, but many other colors too.)

This Anórien chest piece is an epic quest reward I've been holding onto for nearly six years and never once used it until now. I'm honestly not sure if it has a shared appearance with other Old Anórien/Minas Tirith regional barter gear (I suspect it does, but haven't encountered any in passing with the exact same texture). I like how sharp the embroidery and fastenings stand out on this piece.

I went with the Boots of the Learned to bring some of the gold tone to the leg area and also went with the matching Hat of the Learned. That hat has unique rune detailing along the seam that I haven't seen anywhere else. Those runes are a warm orange tone, so I also used the Rune-maker's Shoulders and Wall-warden gloves to balance that orange-y color throughout the outfit as well. Both the hat and shoulders have interesting shapes that were fun to experiment with. I also listed the Bee Wings as a possible item as it matches the color palette, but it doesn’t quite fit the theme as well.

The Produce Haul - Hobbit Minstrel

Another Back to Basics outfit for the legendary servers. This outfit features the common dress which uses the old dress silhouette that, to this day, I still believe suits the hobbit the best. The bodice has a default red color, so I used a red dye to match the overskirt with that. As with many of my hobbit outfits, I once again bring out the trusty pointed Linen Hat. For the goods procured at the Farmer’s Market, I used the cornucopia laden with plenty of fresh produce and a basket full of apples. I think in this case, the original basket of apples would look better with the more prominently visible apples and lighter basket tone, but that item won’t be available until Harvestmath. All of the items were dyed red to match the dress bodice.

Simply Shore-side - Hobbit Burglar

The first back to basics outfit uses the high elf intro gear pieces, a hauberk from an outfitter, and a low level crafted piece. The main piece is the Elven hauberk which has a swirly detail on the sides, a strange yellow tinted dyeable bit on the front and back, as well as a default blue theme. The high elf intro items are already tinted a muted blue and I conveniently get 3 navy dyes from gift pack (and navy is one of the selectable colors from the intro quest, so this worked well. Since my progression toon is a hobbit, I of course, had to craft my trusty giant linen hat. In the words of our group's raid leader... "you are 40% hat".

Back to basics! I'm doing Deadly+6 progression on Shadowfax with some raid friends. Of course, a new server means my wardrobe is empty and my ability to procure various cosmetic items is severely limited. That is not nearly enough to stop me from at least looking halfway presentable, so my first order of business is to get going on crafting. Both tailors and metalsmiths craft armor and are fantastic resources for DIY cosmetics. The second order of business is visiting the regular outfitters who might have a couple of items for a handful of silver coins.

The third order of business is dyes. The intro quests will get you a few to start with (though the high elf intro doesn't let you pick the color). In my case, the progression group already has a dedicated scholar who has agreed to supply me dyes within reason, but if you're playing solo, a secondary character for farming crafting materials (perhaps one on regular difficulty) might be useful here.

Pixie Whimsy - Hobbit Minstrel

I do love a large pointed hat on the hobbit model and this one comes with a feather! Since the feather is a fixed color, and a rather unusual one at that, I ended up using sea blue dye as a secondary color on shoulders, gloves, and boots to even it out. For the main color, the torso needed to match the hat base, but the hat dyes a little darker of a shade than usual. I ended up looking for other brownish-tinted, medium-saturated pieces. I originally wanted a long robe to give a witchy feel with the pointed hat, but none of the ones I had on hand dyed a deep shire plum. I ended up going with the same robe I used for the Honey-glazed outfit.

One thing I quite liked was how well the sea blue and shire plum matched -- similar to the Minstrel steed that I've seen some folks run around on. Of course, that meant this was an outfit that had to go onto one of my minstrels -- namely the hobbit minstrel of years gone by that I don't maintain at an end-game level. To give off that classic bardic feel, I switched her default instrument to a lute and used the cuff item in the glove slot since no bard would play music with gloves. I also liked the look of the Ascot Scarf in sea blue, but unfortunately the model clipped into the chestpiece on the hobbit model; I ended up going with the Doomfold mantle instead.

Witch of Isengard - Hobbit "Runekeeper"

This outfit was inspired by the Treasure Hunt event which is currently live. There is a cosmetic back item that actually is a hip satchel that sits where a Runekeeper satchel would. As  you may know, hobbits cannot play the Runekeeper class, but with this item, your hobbit can pretend to be one!

The Isengard armour sets are the epitome of the black-white-red palette that has a sharp and dangerous look. For this outfit, I used Hunter and Loremaster Isengard class sets; I never leveled a RK beyond level 30ish, so I couldn't get the RK unique appearance Isengard robes. As with my usual hobbit garb, I used my favorite pointed hat to give this look a witch-y finish -- thus yielding the perfect Halloween outfit from some years past.

For this set, I took most of my shots in a oft forgotten corner of Thorin's Hall. This reputation-gated lounge has a sky-high ceiling of luminescent crystals that give a lovely overbloom glow to my pictures.

Burgundy Filigree - Hobbit Minstrel

Here's a 3-year old outfit and my go-to questing outfit for my hobbit. The hobbit model always looks the best in hats. This hat is one of my favorites due to the ridiculous size comparison with the hobbit model. She obviously stole Gandalf's nice party hat!
