You know what strikes me the most about this picture?

And this one...

Both of these images have one thing in common...

That is, Ciel's presence in the kitchen.

Which speaks about his character, tbh.

Given the time period and the way society worked back then, I'm sure that the master of the house rarely - or never - stepped into the kitchen (even Sebastian said so himself, that the kitchen wasn't a place for Ciel). But there he was, snacking away or licking his finger oh-so-casually, just like Finny. And seeing that there's only one plate on the table, I'd go and assume that both Ciel & Finny took the curry from the same plate. Moreover, Finny didn't seem surprised/awkward to see Ciel there, which means that this isn't the first time that Ciel has joined them in the "below stairs".

Ciel, despite everything, is still a child. He's mischievous. Granted, some of his mischief are more dangerous than others, but he still enjoys simple things like this. He might be the master of the house, but he has no qualms about going to the kitchen to join his servants in curry tasting or to eat snacks with them. I don't think you'd often find an earl in his kitchen, eating with his servants.

This is just one of the things that greatly differentiate him from his brother. R!Ciel would rather die (again?) than getting caught spending time so casually with a bunch of servants. He even talked down at Sebastian (something that I'll be forever salty about).

This is why no matter how much he'd like to pretend otherwise, o!Ciel would never be like his brother. Because after everything has been said and done, he's a good person at heart.

Nothing extravagant, just an average present, from an average guy. Humans celebrate the anniversary of their birth? Why? He asks, why celebrate being even closer to death. It scared him...your death...It's so close, yet so far. When you explained him that it's to commemorate your past years, and celebrate what's to come. he understood, after all, humans have only finite amount of years to live, so he was going to make yours the best possible. He would clear up his schedule, or at least try. He would get you flowers and then he would take you to a romantic dinner to the finest restaurant in all of Fontaine, and then to a romantic walk by the shore, to watch otters (:3) He hopes many of these so called birthdays of yours would come.

It's not like i am lazy to write, but it's really hard to think of anything okay. I believe you would have tea party. A lot of Earl grey tea, a lot of sweets...and chess or other board games. You will just spend quality time with him...and technically Sebastian too, since he will be tending to your needs, and preparing all the food :3

I love the attention to detail and symbolism since the flower that Sebastian is cutting so dangerously close to O!Ciel's eye (seriously Sebastian chill tf out motherfucker) is a lily.

Lilies don't just resemble death itself; they represent when the soul leaves the body of the individual who died, hence why they're often used in funerals.

I don't think I need to elaborate any further on this imagery do I?

A very interesting small detail that I noticed in GWA

So, when Sieglinde asked for o!Ciel's name, Sebastian translated the question for him - which is definitely the polite thing to do. But there's another reason for it.

Sebastian cannot lie.

So when Sieglinde asked for o!Ciel's name, he cannot lie and say Ciel's name because that's not his name.

But then he didn't bother translating Sieglinde's question about Ciel's age and answered it himself. Because o!Ciel really was thirteen years old.

Just a small detail, but I find it to be interesting.

Also, why did Ciel look like he was wearing a fluffy oversized bathrobe (especially from the side view)?
