Here’s two of Diocesa’s companions, Nostradamus and Esmerelda!

Esmerelda is a moon spirit who fell from the sky after a stray shooting star damaged one of her wings. She was found by Nostradamus, a traveling doctor, while he was out foraging for mushrooms to make medicine with, and he did his best to treat her. As Esmerelda healed, the two became close, and even after she no longer needed his care she often visited him, eager to help with his practice with her lunar magic.

After a while, the two fell in love and eventually married, and have been traveling together since.

The two met Diocesa and their (still unnamed lol) apprentice when they went to assist a small town whose entire population had suddenly become horribly ill with an unknown disease—together, the four of them found that a secretive cult had caused the plague in order to summon Unagoth, the god of decay. By working together, the group managed to convince Unagoth to leave the material plane, and made sure that the cult and townspeople were properly dealt with.

After those events, Nostradamus and Esmerelda offered to join Diocesa and their protege on their travels, believing that they could do much good working together. Diocesa eagerly accepted, relieved to have not one but two people who were able to practice medicine—a much needed skill, considering how often Diocesa’s recklessness and their apprentice’s inexperience often result in quite a few cuts and bruises.

Here’s the bio I wrote for them:

“Orion Diocesa is known as many different things by many different people: a master wizard, an inventive artificer, a selfless hero, a good-for-nothing scamp, a hopeless romantic, a student, a mentor, an enigma... the list goes on and on. What people call them matters little to Orion—what’s important to them is simply being free to do as they please.

Always looking for an opportunity for adventure, they rarely stay in one place for very long; of course, even if they really wanted to settle down, they can’t, lest they risk being tracked down and captured by the King of Panterra.

Most assume the King wants to bring them to justice for some particularly heinous crime out of their many others; others believe he wants them as their royal mage, or some other high-ranking position.

The truth, however, is known only by Orion and the King: that Orion is the last living member of the legendary Goldstreak bloodline, a lineage of heroes who each changed the world—and the King is dead set on being the one to produce an heir to it.

Perhaps the King wishes to preserve the family and its cultural importance—or maybe he simply wishes to revive the power of the decaying monarchy.

Whatever the case may be, though, Orion refuses to have any of it—and so the two play a game of cat and mouse spanning the entire world, and sometimes even beyond.”

I think I’m gonna start running this blog in-character as Orion Diocesa. This’ll mean you’ll probably see some more original stuff relating to the setting of Panterra, but it’ll still be mostly the same content I’ve already been posting.
