#Oogie Boogie Background Singer (Animaniacs OC)

While not a lot of people know this, there was a Christmas album for "Animaniacs" titled, "Animaniacs: A Hip-Hopera Christmas". And in turn, there was an audio book based on "A Christmas Plotz" that predated this obscure album. For the hip-hop version of Dot's "Ghost of Christmas Present" song, I thought about incorporating the "Oogie Boogie Song" via rapping. So yeah, while Dot sings, Oogie Boogie Background Singer sings and raps with and without Dot during his lines. Down below are the lyrics I've thought up when I was experimenting with the music in the early 2010s. I've made two sets of how I would envision this duet, so feel free to comment which version you prefer.

After the part of the final cutscene where C.C. Deville falls from the sky and crashes into the road by the Warner Bros. water tower, I thought as soon as our heroes make it to the ground safely, they have a final confrontation with the boogie man himself. Only, this time, his vultures unleash hell all over the studio lot. I wasn't sure if Background Singer should be captured again or not, but I do know that he would unleash his wizard powers and reveal his birth mark. In fact, this would be where Oogie Boogie Background Singer meets his true demise before the rest of the ending is revealed.

Though as far as this musical number, I don't know if it should be one of those "quick time event" cutscenes, or if this should be a boss battle where the song plays on loop, but these are the lyrics I have down below, along with spoken dialogue that reveals Oogie's death.

(In Oogie's POV, the camera rotates showing him being surrounded by Wizard Waldo with a fireball on the top of his scepter, along with Waldo's guards pointing their spears and guns, the other Background Singer's with their microphones as guns, and Yakko, Wakko, and Dot with torches as they slowly walk closer to Oogie with anger.)

Have mercy! Stop!

(We cut to Oogie cowering at the sight of the angry mob's fire and sharp objects)

Stop at once! I command you!

Background Singer/King Egon: Too late, Oogie. This is your punishment.

(Music stops for a second)

Yakko: Now!

(Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Waldo, and Background Singer all throw their fire at Oogie, and set him ablaze. As they do, the music suddenly continues playing from the 2:45-3:06 mark and skipping to the 3:19 mark as Oogie burns to death.)

Oogie Boogie Background Singer (While burning): OH! OH! FIRE! THAT'S MY ONE WEAKNESS! SOON I'M GONNA BURN INTO NOTHING BUT ASHES! HELP ME! I'M BURNING!

(While Oogie screams as he burns to death, his bugs scatter out of the suit as his voice becomes high-pitched. After the cymbal crash at the end of the music, Oogie's dying words can be heard.)

Oogie's Bugs (High-Pitched): I'm burning, that's not fair…!

(The fire dies down and the suit has been burned alive. Worst of all, Oogie's bugs scatter away from the Warner Bros. studio lot as the vultures chase after them to eat them. Then we see one surviving bugs scurrying away.)

Scurrying Bug: MY BUGS!

(Another dramatic score starts playing here)

(On cue with the final bug's second "MY BUGS!", the bug gets squished by Background Singer/King Egon's shoe on the 0:43 mark of the music.)

Next to the "Animaniacs" episode, "A Christmas Plotz", I'd also make him a villain in "Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt" as a boss character, and he would have two boss battles so to speak. And like video games such as "Scooby-Doo!: Night of 100 Frights" and even "The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge" (which ironically turns 20 years old this month if you consider it was first released in Japan), Oogie Boogie Background Singer's theme song would play on loop (or at least in cutscenes where the verses can be presented in a certain order). Here's how I would present this version of Oogie's theme song down below.

For my depiction of Background Singer as Oogie Boogie Background Singer, I thought Oogie Boogie's theme song from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" could be covered by my OC not surprisingly. In fact, for how I would make my own version of the episode, "A Christmas Plotz", Oogie Boogie Background Singer makes his debut after Wakko disappears. Babes Bunny I thought would be depicted as a vulture with a Thurl Ravenscroft voice. Earlier, the vulture would've sung "You're a Mean One, Mr. Plotz" (a cover of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch", no less) just before Wakko sings his Ghost of Christmas Past song. Babes would still stick around when Background Singer appears as Oogie Boogie Background Singer.

And since this whole episode is suppose to be a nightmare like the original "Christmas Carol" story is depicted as, Dot as the Ghost of Christmas Present is the wife of Oogie Boogie Background Singer. For their first appearance, after the CEO finds another present on his desk and pulls the tag off, ghouls and demons fly out of it and have Mr. Plotz's hands tied behind his chair. And down below are the lyrics for Oogie Boogie Background Singer singing his theme song.

(Oogie pours the dice back in the cup, and magically pulls out a long chain.)

(Oogie's demons and Dot's pets surround Mr. Plotz and slowly walk closer to him from all angles)

Oogie Boogie Background Singer (Spoken) (On-screen): ♪(Opens his folded wings that say "OOGIE" on each wing) Because I'm "Mr. Oogie Boogie", and you ain't going nowhere. (Evilly laughs and turns to his wife)♪

Following the recent passing of Ken Page, the voice of Oogie Boogie from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", I'd like to showcase the Oogie Boogie version of Background Singer.

Oogie Boogie Background Singer here is an evil version of Background Singer who would make his debut in the episode, "A Christmas Plotz". He would accompany the Ghost of Christmas Present version of Dot as someone who wants to kill the chairman right away. Even without the Warners portrayed as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he's an irredeemable monster in his own right.

His army consists of vultures and crows who are loyal to the boogie man and will eat anything dead or alive, including Mr. Plotz, Wizard Waldo, and even his guards.

Oogie Boogie Background Singer only comes out at night as like Dracula, bright lights weaken him, including the sun, but it doesn't kill Oogie. It only stuns him.

Like the symbiotes from "Spider-Man", Oogie can be worn as a suit, but again, the wearer only has access to Oogie's power's at night. And similar to Venom (or even Carnage), the wearer is more prone to rage and excessive violence when dressed as Oogie Boogie Background Singer. Since Oogie's suit was also made with dark magic, the wearer can make Oogie's shadow move around at night as a method of spying or making things come to life and scare the daylights out of anyone.

Oogie Boogie Background Singer's other powers consist of his mitten hands growing large, allowing him to break through walls and even creating shock waves by slamming his fists to the ground. He also has folding wings on his back that allow him to fly.

His roar is similar to that of either these dinosaur roars from the first "Jurassic Park" (another fellow Amblin Entertainment production, albeit under Universal Pictures instead of Warner Bros.) or any vicious animal noises. In fact, his roar can be powerful enough to blow someone away.

As powerful as Oogie Boogie Background Singer is, he has two weaknesses. Given that he's suppose to be an evil scarecrow with a Santa suit and a crown with bells, and a perch for one of the vultures to sit on, Oogie is easily flammable, so something like a lit match or anything with fire can easily burn him. Sharp objects are his other weakness. If anyone wearing Oogie is under bright lights for too long, Oogie will vomit the wearer out of him. But whenever Oogie is cut or burnt, the wearer is revealed. If no one is wearing him, his bugs that control the suit scatter out of him in fear.

For the first time Oogie Boogie Background Singer gets defeated, he simply cries "MY BUGS!" as the bugs scatter out of the Oogie Boogie Background Singer suit, with the pitch of his voice rising the more his bugs exit the suit, but that's something I'll talk about another day, alongside other future blogs that are all about Oogie Boogie Background Singer.
