Many devices continue to draw power even when they’re turned off or in standby mode. To avoid this “phantom load," unplug any device you don't need right away or use a power strip with an on/off switch so you can easily turn off all devices at once.
2. Adjust the temperature of your water heater:
Lowering the thermostat setting on your hot water heater from 140°F (60°C) to 120°F (49°C) could help reduce energy usage by up to 10%. You may also consider installing an insulating jacket around it if it's more than five years old as well as periodic flushing out of sediment buildup at its base which can further improve efficiency and extend its life span too!
3. Use efficient light bulbs:
As an Energy Consultant I want to say Switching over from traditional incandescent bulbs is one way we all can make a big difference in reducing our electricity bills while helping protect against climate change too!
