Late or never Android updates remain a problem
Late or never Android updates remain a problem
Here’s yet another unintentional benefit of my shattering my Pixel 5a’s screen last weekend: an opportunity to reacquaint myself with how slowly many Android smartphone manufacturers still ooze out Google’s system updates. This is not a new problem, as I can see from re-reading a piece I wrote almost 10 years ago that’s aged a little too well. I had thought that architectural changes Google made…

I'm just saying we should be angry as hell at smartphone manufacturers for taking away headphone jacks and removable storage.
Yes Apple started the headphone jack thing, but every other company followed in their stupid ""courageous"" footsteps. Remember when Google first launched the Pixel and lorded about how it still had a headphone jack but then removed it all of a year later when the Pixel 2 launched?
Apple never did have expandable storage, but most other smartphones did. That was a design motif that dated back to the flip phone era. The biggest seller of Android smartphones (or at least the one with most representation on store shelves), Samsung, doesn't even include it in their top of the line devices anymore.
These companies have removed features and forced us to buy them back in one way shape or form, or worse; forced us into inferior experiences as consumers in the case of cheap quality Bluetooth earbuds. And in cases where manufacturers used to offer phones with expandable storage, now the only option is buying the model with more storage capacity, rather than you know, simply buying a micro SD card with exponentially more memory for a fraction of the price. Even OnePlus, whose smartphones are often labeled as "flagship killers" for how their specs and internal components, and whose slogan is literally "Never Settle", caved to the design trends of other brands
As it stands now there's only one major smartphone manufacturer that still sells a flagship smartphone that functions properly in the US (other countries have different antenna bands for 5G and LTE signals than the US does), and still has a headphone jack and micro SD card slot for expandable storage, that's Sony. Whose phones are among the most expensive sold in the US with the Xperia 1 IV having an MSRP of $1599

7 Tips for Finding a Cheap Mobile Phone Without Compromising Quality
In today’s tech-driven world, having a mobile phone is essential. However, not everyone can or wants to spend a fortune on the latest models. Fortunately, there are plenty of affordable options available that don’t sacrifice quality. Here’s how you can find a cheap mobile phone that meets your needs.
1. Set a Budget
Before you start shopping, decide how much you're willing to spend. Setting a clear budget will help you narrow down your options and avoid overspending.
2. Consider Refurbished Phones
Refurbished phones are pre-owned devices that have been restored to like-new condition. They’re often much cheaper than brand-new models and come with warranties, making them a great option for budget-conscious buyers.
3. Explore Older Models
Last year's flagship phones often drop significantly in price when new models are released. These older models usually have high-end features but at a fraction of the original cost.
4. Look for Sales and Discounts
Keep an eye out for sales events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or back-to-school promotions. Retailers often offer significant discounts on mobile phones during these periods.
5. Compare Prices Online
Use price comparison websites to check for the best deals across various retailers. Sometimes, online stores offer exclusive discounts that aren’t available in physical stores.
6. Buy Unlocked Phones
Unlocked phones, which are not tied to a specific carrier, can sometimes be cheaper than carrier-locked phones. They also give you the flexibility to switch carriers and choose the best plan for your needs.
7. Consider Lesser-Known Brands
While big brands like Apple and Samsung are popular, many lesser-known brands offer great phones at lower prices. Brands like Xiaomi, Motorola, and OnePlus have affordable models with impressive features.
Conclusion
Finding a cheap mobile phone doesn't mean you have to settle for poor quality. By being savvy and considering these tips, you can get a great phone that fits your budget and meets your needs. Whether it’s a refurbished phone, an older model, or a lesser-known brand, there are plenty of options available for the budget-conscious shopper.

Devil Spawn at C.i.A. Project Omniscience alternate between bombarding Targeted Individuals with two entirely different frequencies so they won't die before they've been sufficiently exploited . But even when used separately prolonged exposure to Ultrasound Transmissions causes sterilization and hypertension and prolonged exposure to Microwave Transmissions causes genetic mutations and cancer. The ultrasound and microwave devices function as transceivers to send and receive audio data that can implant vivid false memories, brainwash with directed dreams and subliminals, and force maddening conversation. They also overwhelm my new Technics AZ-80 wireless earbuds so I can't talk with people that I choose to through my OnePlus 12 smartphone . So to make phone calls I ordered two items on Saturday scheduled to be delivered in one box to my mailing address later today on Monday, September 1st, 2024 including (1) a Hyper-X Cloud III Gaming headset with a WIRED inline mic that I will attach to (2) a New old school Motorola Moto G45 Power smartphone with a builtin 3.5mm jack . Theoretically I could also shoot videos through the same Hyper-X Cloud III attached to my new OnePlus 12 smartphone with the brighter display, higher resolving lenses and superior Hasselblad processing if I can custom order an aftermarket adapter different from the standard one Samsung manufactures without a cheap inline mic positioned one inch from the charging port .

Phones
Robb posted about the phones he’d owned over the years and it reminded me of a note I’d started a while back and never finished, chronicling all the devices that have occupied a place inside my pocket over the years.
I know the timeline of some of these is blurry and I’m confident I’m missing a couple somewhere in there but I think it illustrates that I clearly have issues. I’m ignoring all the pre-smartphone devices I’ve owned but, for the record, my first phone was a Nokia 6110.
Smart phones
Blackberry Curve (8310)
Blackberry Storm (9530)
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
Android phase
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Nexus 4
Nexus 5
OnePlus One
Moto X (1st generation)
iPhone 5
iPhone 6 Plus
Nexus 6
Nexus 5X
Nexus 6P
The big iPhones
iPhone 7 Plus
Nextbit Robin
OnePlus X1
Essential PH-1
Pixel 2 XL
Pixel 3
iPhone XR
iPhone 11 Pro Max
iPhone 12
OnePlus Nord N1002
iPhone 14 Pro Max
iPhone 15 Pro
Let’s break down some highs and lows.
Best “fun” phone
The OnePlus One was such a great phone to mess around with. Flashing different ROMs, swapping out the backplate, there was never a dull moment.
Worst phone
This was, without question, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The plastic phone felt cheap, TouchWhiz UI was sluggish and ugly, the battery was terrible… I used it for a couple weeks and returned it. This was where I first felt intrigued by “phablet” devices but it was otherwise a brutal experience, and I owned a Blackberry Storm, think about that for a second.
Best Android phone
My “panda” Pixel 2 XL was the best Android phone ever, though the Nexus 6 was a close second. After the disaster experience with the Note 3, I was always curious what using a good huge phone might be like. The Nexus 6 was that.
The Pixel 2 XL was a big, sturdy, gorgeous piece of hardware with a smooth, pure Android experience. It was as close as I ever felt Google got to replicating the iPhone experience.
Best iPhone
This is a really tough call. The iPhone 4 had the best design but the iPhone 6 Plus stands out because of how long I’d been waiting for a larger iPhone. I never liked the rounded sides of those generations of iPhone though so I think the iPhone 12 would be where I’d land. It had a great design, tons of power, and iOS was really firing around then too (iOS 14–17).
In closing
Every now and then I check out Pixel phones when I’m at Best Buy or wherever and am a bit tempted but I really dislike the direction Google’s gone with their Android UI. The performance of those devices has come a long way but I just can’t see myself wading back into the Google ecosystem at this point. Nothing is doing really cool stuff with their hardware but, again, anything involving Google or the Play Store at this point is a non-starter.
The iPhone kind of does it all for me. I’m thoroughly ingrained in the ecosystem and, for the most part, happy with what I’ve got there.

General Information & OnePlus 8 Price In Bangladesh We can confirm that it resonates with us, even more so with the new OnePlus 8 line. The phones are among the most expensive so far. We suspect the 5G factor is the culprit. However, there are other factors. OnePlus 8 price in Bangladesh is very High. The 1 Plus 8 price in Bangladesh is the Official Price: 59,990/- tk The OnePlus 8 Pro, for instance, is not compromising on features such as fast wireless charging and IP68 protection. As a result, the company feels comfortable enough to release a smartphone that asks how much the current Galaxy S20+ costs. The vanilla OnePlus 8 is still aimed at those who want the same fluid OxygenOS experience without spending as much. The standard 8 isn't cheap, however. It's significantly more expensive than its predecessor, the OnePlus 7T. And it's even more costly than the 7T Pro and 7T. What gives? Let’s Have A Look Again At The Oneplus 8 Price In Bangladesh & Main Specification Name– OnePlus 8Sim & Network– GPRS, EDGE, 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G ConnectionColor- Onyx Black - Glacial Green - Interstellar Glow - Polar SilverDisplay– 6.5 Inches Fluid AMOLED (1080 x 2400 Pixels, 402 ppi) – 16M colorProtection– Corning Gorilla Glass 5Refresh Rate– 90 HzOS– Android 10With OxygenOS 11 - Upgrade To Android 11Chipset- Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 5G - 7 nm+ TransistorGPU- Adreno 650RAM & ROM- 6GB RAM+128GB ROM - 8GB RAM+128GB ROM - 12GB RAM+256GB ROMRAM Type– LPDDRX4SD Card Slot– NoMain Camera– 48MP+16MP+2MP – HDR, LED Flash, Panorama - 4K@30/60fps - 1080p@30/60/240fps - Auto HDR, Gyro-EISSelfie Camera– 16MP - Auto-HDR - 1080p@30fps - Gyro-EIS3.5mm Jack– NoFM Radio– NoSpeaker– Yes (Stereo Speakers)Wifi– Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac – Dual-Band – Wi-Fi DirectBluetooth- 5.1, A2DP, LE, aptX HDOther Sensors– GPS – Fingerprint – Accelerometer – Gyroscope – Proximity – CompassBattery- 5.1, A2DP, LE, apt-X HDPrice- 59,990/- Body & Design The OnePlus 8 is a well-built device that uses glass on its front and back and aluminum on its sides. However, it's unknown which version of Gorilla Glass OnePlus is used for the front or back. The OnePlus 8 felt much smaller than its predecessor, which surprised us. The aspect ratio is probably why the 8 feels smaller than its predecessor. It's slightly taller, but it's also significantly narrower. This allows for a more comfortable grip. It is now more challenging to reach the top of the display. There are some caveats to the 20:9 aspect ratio. The finish is another noticeable difference. It looks almost the same as the old one, with its smooth, frosted glass. Although it feels great to touch and is very premium, it cannot be easy to handle. The new 8 retains the same finish but is a little grippier. It has a similar finish to the Pixel 4-series and is closer to the rubbery feel. It's still very slippery, but don't let that fool you. The Glacial Green color we received is at least resistant to fingerprints. They are difficult to spot and don't stick as well. OnePlus 8 Display Although the display on the vanilla OnePlus 8 may not have the same features as the Pro, it doesn't make it less impressive. This could be the best screen we have seen in this category. The panel is OLED and has a 1080x2400px resolution. It also features a 20:9 aspect ratio. Fluid AMOLED is the name OnePlus gave it because of its curves and 90Hz refresh rate. Software The Oneplus 8 comes with Android 10, Upgradable to Android 11 and OxygenOS 11. The new OxygenOS has a few new features, but there aren't many major changes. Some of these features might also end up in older models. The overall Android experience is stocky, with some minor additions still available. Performance We didn't see any hangs or hiccups while using the device. With the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the OS ran without issue and ran smoothly. It's based upon the 7nm+ EUV manufacturing process, which promises marginal power savings and better overall performance than the Snapdragon-855 chipset.
It consists of an Adreno 650 GPU and an octa-core CPU. It consists of a Kryo585 core running at 2.84 GHz, a cluster of three Kryo585 cores running at 2.42 GHz, and four additional Kryo585 cores operating at 1.8 GHz. The chipset is supported by 12GB LPDDR4X memory, 256GB UFS 3.0 storage, and four additional Kryo 585 cores running at 2.84 GHz. The vanilla 8 does not have the LPDDR5 memory. The other configuration uses 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Camera The Oneplus comes with a 48MP Main Camera and 16 MP selfie camera. The OnePlus 8 replaces the telephoto lens with a dedicated macro lens. The zoom photos can be cropped by 2x from the main 48MP sensor. The features of the Video are the Rear camera 4K 2160p@30/60fps Full HD 1080p@30/60/240fps Full HD 1080p@30/60/240fps 720p@480fps Full HD 1080p@30. Sound Stereo loudspeakers are included in the OnePlus 8. One is located at the bottom, and the other is hidden behind the small bezel at the top. Both are louder than the previous lineup, but the 8 has a better quality aspect. The vocals sound clear, and the bass is impressive for such small speakers. Oneplus 8 Battery The OnePlus 8's battery life is Very Good. The phone's standby time was excellent, even with the external Snapdragon X554G+5G modem. We were impressed by the on-screen results. The almost no difference between the 60Hz and 90Hz screen modes was even more impressive. The difference lasted several minutes and was more likely due to statistical error than anything else. The jump to a 4,300mAh battery has been more than welcomed and has greatly improved battery life. Our Opinion The OnePlus 8 Price In Bangladesh is high but, The OnePlus 8 is a great phone. It has a nice main camera performance, good battery life, a fast charger, a bright display at 90Hz, the best-sounding stereo speakers, an unrivaled fingerprint reader performance, and OxygenOS, which is fast and optimized.
