Hiro: "Olek, I'm trans. I've kinda known for a while now, though it took me a while to come to terms with it…but I'm a guy. I want to go by he/him, I want to have my name legally be Hiro instead of just a nickname for Hiromi. I want…to be me. Without hiding anymore."

Hiro, continued: "I'm sorry, I turned a good holiday into a mess and—"

Olek: "Hiro, no you didn't. I'm so proud of you."

Hiro: "There's another thing too…I really like you, Olek. I have for a while now. I…you don't have to feel the same way, especially now that I've come out, but I really just needed to get it off of my chest…"

Olek: "Hiro I'm gay!"

Hiro: "You're...Olek, I am so damn proud of you!"

Olek: "I was struggling so much with accepting myself , because I like you too."

Hiro: "And you were confused because you had feelings for me,but I identified as a girl? And you knew in your heart you only liked guys right?"

Sports Talk With Troy's 7 Best Boxers April 2019! 1. Oleksandr Usyk. From March 24, 2017, to March 24, 2019, The Ukrainian has dominated the Cruiserweight division. Going 5-0 with 2 ko wins. Against a very strong group of opponents. All in their home countries. Next? TBA on May 18th. Will a win help in my next rankings? NOT Unless He takes on a quality opponent with a size advantage over him. Usyk is moving to heavyweight and this will be a get accumulated to the wait fight. 2.Terence Crawford. 4-0 4 kos. Based on his road win streak I have Usyk slightly ahead of Crawford, who has held my #1 spot for a few years. Next Amir Khan on 4/20! Will a win help in my next rankings? MAYBE Khan has a lot of skills and can give anyone problems. He also lacks the ability to absorb a good punch. The shorter the fight, the better for Crawford. However, based on the likely lackluster opponent for Usyk Crawford may be able to regain the top spot. 3. Errol Spence Jr. 4-0 3 kos. Had Lamont Peterson beaten Sergey Lipinets I would probably have moved Spence to my top spot. In fact, I waited till after this fight to make my new rankings. While Usyk has gone to his opponents home country. Spence went into Kell Brook’s home town and took the IBF welterweight championship from him. Yes, Brook was damaged goods, but he was still a very good boxer and it was in his home town. Beat Peterson who might not be elite, but is still a very good boxer. He also outclassed Mikey Garcia in a way that no one saw coming. The only question mark is a 1st round ko over Carlos Ocampo. Who was unbeaten and the top contender in the IBF rankings. Next? Nothing official at this time. Spence called Manny Pacquiao out after beating Garcia. I think Pacquiao will choose to fight either Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter or even Sergey Lipinets before he fights Spence. I think Pacquiao will fight Thurman (who will beat him). Spence will be able to choose between Porter or Lipinets. I think he will choose Porter in a championship unification fight. Will a win help in my next rankings? YES. Pacquiao, Thurman, Porter, and Lipinets are all first rate boxers. Any of them are higher quality than Amir Khan or whoever Oleksander Usyk is going to fight next. 4. Vasiliy Lomachenko 4-0 with 3 ko’s I have to drop Lomachenko a bit. after Jorge Linares got stopped in a round by Pablo Cesar Cano. Lomachenko is still one of the top boxers around. In just think that Linares loss to Cano is worse than Peterson's loss to Lipinets. Next? Anthony Crolla April 12. Will a win help in my next rankings? MAYBE. I think Lomachenko is in the same boat with Crolla as Crawford is in with Khan. In the sense that both Crolla and Khan are both good boxers, but not on the level of Lomachenko and Crawford. 5. Canelo Alvarez. 3-0-1 1 ko. I have Alvarez here because he has a slight edge 1-0-1 over Gennady Golovkin in their two fights. If his edge was definitive. I could have him as high as #1. Next? Daniel Jacobs May 4th. Will a win help in my next rankings? YES. Jacobs might be the most talented middleweight right now. He might not get the coverage that Canelo and Golovkin gets. That does not change things. 6. Gennady Golovkin. 1-1-1 1 ko. He is 0-1-1 against Alvarez. In both fights, there is a case to her made that he should have gotten the decision. I fell if Golovkin or Alvarez could have had definitive victories over each other. Either one could be ranked #1 on my list. The reality of their two fights has them at the 5 & 6 spots in my rankings. Next? TBA/TBA. Golovkin just inked a deal with DAAZN. Will he may be aiming to fight the Alvarez/Jacobs winner. He will likely have a fight between them. There are rumors of who he will fight, but no real answers. Will a win help in my next rankings? DEPENDS. Not knowing who he is going to fight makes not hard to predict how his next fight will impact my opinion. Demetrius Andrade who holds the WBO middleweight championship and Callum Smith the WBA Super middleweight champion are under DAZN contracts and could both be in play. Beating either of them will improve his status. 7. Dmitry Bivol 6-0 3 kos. With wins over Sullivan Barrera, Isaac Chilemba, Jean Pascal & Joe Smith Jr. Bivol might not be as eye-pleasing as Sergey Kovalev, Oleksandr Gvozdyk or, Artur Beterbiev, but he has the best resume at light heavyweight. I was so excited to be tagged in one of these! To prepare for my legacy, and the fact that I’ve been putting in more work and thought into it and my characters, I’ll let Olek take it away from here.

Are you named after anyone?

Yeah, I was named after my grandfather, Oleksandr. Mama added the ‘e’ so we would still have some difference. My middle name, Lawrence, is after my dad.

When was the last time you cried?

Did Kat ghostwrite this? Last night. I finished Under the Whispering Door and promptly sobbed. She smirked at me from across the table the next morning. She knows everything.

Do you have kids?

Err, no. Maybe one day though! I do love to care for all things, whether it's humans, pets, plants, even objects honestly. For now, I’m just a plant and pet dad. 

Do you use sarcasm?

Never, in a million years! Who do you think I am?? (Does that answer the question?)

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

If they have little strands of hair that stick out. I don’t mean that in a critical way though, I just think it’s a cute little thing and it varies from person to person. Some have the classic Alfalfa style cowlick and others it’s just a little piece falling from their ponytail. It’s cute, and it kinda reflects the personality of the person, if that makes sense?

What’s your eye colour?

Brown. It was really dark when I was younger, but nowadays it reminds me of the water at the lake, where the mud gets all kicked up. Not the most elegant thing, but that comparison is what got me to start liking my eye colour. 

Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings. Not to say I’m one to shy away from scary movies (psychological horror is my favourite), but I will watch literally anything with a happy ending. Except Hallmark movies. I have some taste. 

Any special talents?

I’m really good at hula hooping. I had a lonely childhood, kay?

Where were you born?

What are your hobbies?

Ooh mostly gardening! When I was younger, I loved helping dad out in the garden out back, and once I was older and he got promoted, he transferred the ‘ownership’ of the garden to me. So now I’m the main caretaker of all our plants. I also like to read, and I’ve been trying to get into knitting. 

Have you any pets?

When I was a kid, we had a street cat named Patches. Not named for his fur pattern but instead named for the fact that he was covered in little scars that wouldn’t let the fur grow. Mom noticed him wandering the streets but at the time they couldn’t afford a cat since Kat was coming along. After Mykhail was born and we were more secure financially, she finally grabbed him up from the streets, where he unfortunately was still roaming, and we took him in. When he grew to be an elder, we got him a companion who was also a street cat named Sammy. They passed away a few years ago, just one day apart from each other. Now we have another street cat named Cici, who I found wandering around, and we adopted a dog named Pompidou. 

What sports do you play/have played?

Cheerleading. The whole story behind it is that mama signed Kat up for it as a surprise, and when she learned about it, Kat refused to go. I, not wanting the money to go to waste, offered to go instead. So yeah, I did two seasons of cheer when I was fourteen.

How tall are you?

Five foot four inches (162.56 CM)

Favourite subject in school?

Biology. I think it’s fascinating to see where we came from, and in turn what makes up the world around us. 

Dream job?

Well…Don’t tell my dad, okay? But all my life I thought gardening was going to be my big thing and don’t get me wrong, I love gardening but I don’t think I want to be a gardener anymore. Like, lately I’ve been reading up a lot about mortuary sciences, and it feels like it would be a career I would enjoy. Death used to scare me, but now I’m learning more about it and it doesn’t really scare me anymore. I guess I’ll have to decide soon though…

Oleksander Jacobs 🎵

Oleksander Jacobs should be happy, right? Afterall, he's bright, on his way to becoming Valedictorian, and has already began to shadow his father so he too can work in gardening once he graduates. He should be lucky to be here, to be a son of an immigrant and Brindleton Bay native who is shining and thriving in his element. Except something feels . . . off.

He's felt it since he was a child, really. The stares he'd get as he eagerly bought the teen magazines filled with posters of celebrities he could plaster onto his wall with Scotch tape, the way he'd get a laugh when he said he didn't particularly enjoy sports like his brother did, the whispers he caught when they all thought he couldn't hear. The pressure, the thoughts, they continue to build as he struggles to find his place in this world.

Hiro: "Honestly? Nothing except I'll probably come hang out at yours if that's cool. Mom is spending the day with her boyfriend."

Olek: "You're always welcome to come over."

Hiro: *Laughs* "Olek, how are you just so damn perfect?"

Olek: "P-Perfect? I mean, I wouldn't say I'm perfect. I just study hard and—"

Hiro: "I'm not talking about grades, I'm talking about *you*."

Olek: "Isn't that the same thing?"

Hiro: "Olek—and I mean this in the nicest way possible—I will punch you."

Olek: *Laughs* "Okay, okay! Thank you, Hiro."

Hiro: "Just telling you the truth. Now, let's get some coffee. I was up until 2 last night. I"m paying."

Olek: "In more ways than one."

Hiro: "Have I ever told you that you have a punchable face?"
