Ola Electric IPO: Prices Set at Rs 72-76 Per Share, Aiming to Raise Over Rs 6,100 Crore
Ola Electric Mobility Limited, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced the price band for its upcoming initial public offering (IPO). The shares will be offered at a price range of Rs 72–76 each, with the IPO set to open for subscription on August 2 and close on August 6. Investors can bid for a minimum of 197 shares and in multiples of 197 shares thereafter.

At the upper end of the price band, Ola Electric aims to raise Rs 6,145 crore, while the lower end targets Rs 6,111 crore. Use of Proceeds
According to Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, the proceeds from the fresh issue will be allocated as follows:
Rs 1,227.6 crore for capital expenditure by subsidiary OCT
Rs 800 crore for repayment or pre-payment of debt
Rs 1,600 crore for research and product development
Rs 350 crore for organic growth initiatives and general corporate purposes
Company Overview
Ola Electric specializes in manufacturing electric vehicles and core EV components, including battery packs, motors, and vehicle frames, at its Ola Futurefactory. The company aims to capitalize on the growing trend of EV adoption in India and plans to expand into select international markets.

Simple Energy Dot One Launched
Simple Energy Dot One launched at Rs 1 lakh, gets 160km IDC range
Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy has launched its latest electric scooter, the Simple Dot One. Priced at an introductory rate of Rs. 99,999/- (ex-showroom Bangalore).
According to the company the official launch price for new customers, which will be “slightly higher”, and will be revealed in January 2024. Simple One has opened bookings online although.
The Simple Dot One will be offered in a single variant and houses a 3.7 kWh battery pack that comes with a certified range of 151 km, which the company says is the longest in its category. Propelling this scooter forward will be a 8.5 kW electric motor rated to belt out 72 Nm of peak torque.
Other features include 12-inch wheels on both ends wrapped in tubeless tyres. Simple Energy claimed acceleration timing of 0 to 40 km/hr in 2.77 seconds, Simple Energy says it is the fastest electric two-wheeler in its segment
The model is available in amazing colour options: Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue, LightX, and BrazenX. Deliveries will commence in Bangalore and extend to other cities in a phased manner.

Simple Dot One Black
The Dot One comes equipped with specially designed tyres aimed at maximising on-road range. The model features 12-inch wheels on both ends paired with 90-90 tubeless tyres.
The Dot One is a sleek electric two-wheeler with dimensions of 1,907 mm in length, 758 mm in width, and 1,170 mm in height. It weighs 126 kg.
The Dot One houses a 3.7 kWh battery capacity and an 8.5 kW electric motor, delivering a peak torque output of 72 Nm. Safety features include CBS and disc brakes. It has a 35-litre under-seat storage compartment and features a touchscreen instrument cluster with app connectivity.

Okinawa claims a battery range of 175-200 km on a full charge, which takes 6-8 hours if plugged into a standard power outlet.
The cost of Okinawa Praise is Rs. 80,000 onwards.
3. Hero Electric Optima HX
The Hero Electric Optima is an electric scooter that is friendly to the environment. It is available in four models: Optima LI and Optima LA in the Low-Speed series, and Optima ER and Optima E5 in the High-Speed series.
The low-speed series' battery range is 50-65 km (based on the battery type). However, the battery range of the high-speed series, such as the E5 and ER, is 55 km and 110 km, respectively.
The cost of Hero Electric Optima HX is Rs. 80,000 onwards.
4. Ola Electric S1
The Ola S1 electric scooter is Ola Electric's first electric vehicle product, and it comes in two models: Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro.
 The battery pack for the S1 is 2.98 kWh, while the battery pack for the S1 Pro is 3.97 kWh.
The Ola S1 claims a range of 121 kilometers on a single charge, while the Ola S1 Pro claims a range of 181 kilometers.
Both the Ola S1 and S1 Pro can be charged with a fast charger to a 75 km range in just 18 minutes. On a standard home charging port, the S1 can be fully charged in 4 hours and 48 minutes, while the S1 Pro can be fully charged in 6 hours and 30 minutes.
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs. 89,999, while the S1 Pro is priced at Rs. 1,20,000 onwards.
4. TVS iQube
The TVS company's first electric two-wheeler is the iQube. It has a traditional scooter-like appearance with a modern twist, as well as good performance and battery range.
While the iQube's overall shape is similar to that of a traditional scooter, it incorporates a few design elements that give it a futuristic feel.
The iQube is powered by three lithium-ion batteries totaling 2.25 kWh. While it takes about five hours to fully charge, the advertised range is 75 kilometers.

This model ships with a 350W charger. It’s to be famous that this variant lacks options like music controls, navigation, call/ SMS alerts, keyless operation, and OTA updates.
However, the three kWh battery variant is paired with a 2.7 kW motor. It comes with a high speed of 90 mph and affords a real range of 125 km (in Eco mode).
The highest-spec Ola S1+ variant can also be backed by a 3 kWh battery and a 2.7 kW motor that provides a high pace of 90 kmph and a variety of 125 km.
Nevertheless, this variant will get features like cruise control, music control, Bluetooth/GPS connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, distant boot lock/unlock, predictive upkeep, and Ola app control.
The company will even offer OTA updates for this model.
