so here are some further thoughts on finale debunking that i want to separate out from the 1400+ word post i made...

it took me six hours to write up that finale debunking post and a good chunk of that was just finding the sources for things and making sure i had everything in order best as i could. finding the post debunking the onion field pic was maddening bc i knew with absolute certainty that it was from 15x17 being filmed but could not find the post that actually said that and how it was known.

but why was it so hard to find?

well. if you search for anything like misha/castiel + onion field, you're not gonna find it. bc every result is either saying that the pics are definitely behind the scenes from filming the last two eps OR "omg where are these frommmmmm what does it meannnnnnnnnnn"

so here's a flow chart of how i ended up finding that onion field debunking post (which is in itself a screencap and link to a tweet):

searching "onion" or "onion field" brought up nothing on sheep's blog

okay maybe it wasn't sheep? time to go look at some other ppl's blogs in their orbit who might have talked about it?

thankfully it was within the first 20 posts after filtering and it was actually cockelores who reblogged it with the debunking source!

start to finish, the search process took about 20min and is only one of the sources i was trying to find and no synthesis thoughts.

the other source that took a while to find was the tiktok from neoni where they say they were contacted 7 days before the finale about using their cover... tho mostly this just highlighted how shitpiss awful google has become. if you put in neoni + carry on + tiktok in google, it's madness. welcome to research thunderdome. if you put the same search terms in duckduckgo, it's one of the top hits.

other thing that tripped me up was i'd be so sure i remembered a thing correctly, write a couple sentences to placehold my thought and then go for the source only to find that i was forgetting some small detail that meant i now had to re-evaluate what i'd already written (e.g. i got tripped up misremembering the hinky finale script as being from a supposed dubber and not someone claiming to do captioning and i think i underplayed the hinkyness of said hinky script out of sheer info exhaustion)

Due to another wave of touch starvation/want for love and the inherent fluffy-cuddliness of omegaverse, I am, once again, bullying (<3) this part of the internet.

DISCLAIMER: This is according to what I’ve been able to understand of research and this is intellectualizing a fantastical idea. Also, I’m not “writing the rules” of omegaverse. I just have thoughts I wanna share. (Relevant screenshots at bottom.)

To begin, humans are animals. We are. We ain’t special except for the fact that we’re the surviving homosapiens (but not without any mixing, good job you horny fuckos) and we’re the shittiest sniffers outta the primate (and wider animal kingdom) lot. Even bugs communicate with scent/pheromones. Even plants communicate with chemicals (also sometimes known as smells). So chill.

We all already communicate on some level with pheromones—the research of which is pretty neat, I encourage y’all to take a looksy—because, again, animals. But as mentioned above, our sense of smell is shit. Pretty obvious if you know anything about dogs, at the very least. About half of our dna instructions for smell are turned off—that’s like a huge handicap for the whole “wild living”—and have decreased/turned off, like, four times faster than other primates.

How we spread scent, what imma call pheromone scent glands, coincides with areas of hair i.e. genitals, under arm, etc (idk how and haven’t found shit on how “social status” is conferred but okay, also it’s omegaverse, so it’s par for the course). Someone makes a joke about smelling someone’s hand after they scratch their testicals? That’s the info (smell) that’s being shared. “Stink kink?” Probably just basic body order and pheromones that naturally go with it considering Big Perfume.

So in omegaverse, I propose that the human nose is still dying at that rate because… like the science-person hypothesis says, close quarters equals big, obnoxious stink! [Third screencap.] Also, that the pheromone glands won’t be on hands because we’re touching everything all the time (people seem to base their omegaverse anatomy on canids (scent via paws) because, well, watch the YouTube doc on how omegaverse started if you don’t know by now. Suffice it to say, werewolves with a twist). Possibly something in feet since humanity likes covering those.

Areas of scent glands: anogenital and suprapubic. The first means the genital region (vulva/penis down to anus; the human anus already having a bunch of smaller glands just within the sphincter already (ergo how shitting marks territory (also can just grind as a way to mark))). These seem to be primarily in the perineum area, usually on each “side” if you drew a center line. Animals we’re more familiar with having anal glands are other mammals (your vet asking if your cat or dog needs their glands expressed) which are beside the anus and have been historically used in perfumes (musk) [the way humans went “hm, our natural odors and milk aren’t cool enough, let’s take from other species!” is so wild to me, but, sure, let’s freak out over adult nursing relationships and vegan (somehow) icecream parlors whilst drinking our moo-cow chocy milky. Humans and our silly, quirky standards, amiright (I’ve been down so many rabbit holes now)]. The suprapubic area is above the pubic bone and beneath the naval. I couldn’t find any examples so I don’t know the exact location?? I can only assume it’d be along the mons pubis-“happy trail,” if you will, line?

Also, humans don’t have true urinary glands (prostate is a gland tho), and the vulvar region has a lot of glands (all named after men, whoo….). I don’t know about intersex and I sorta doubt there’s sufficient science that “deep” yet, fuck y’all human spectrum deniers. You want another rabbit hole? Anogenital mammary glands. Yeah, it’s as wild as it sounds. Last thing: men can and HAVE been lactating. They have all the tissue, generically speaking, it’s just the “usual” changes didn’t happen during puberty to make it obvious. It’s been recorded in historic records of instances (i.e. partum loss of wife).)

I allot “beard line” scent glands or head-crown glands because nuzzling is cute, let’s be real. (Primates don’t seem to have facial/head glands, at least not that I’ve found.) Muntjak deer have very obvious glands on their faces and we all know cats have cheek glands, so there’s also that. Again, I find nuzzling cute so eh (but the gland itself might be unsightly, see muntjak and lemur glands). Lemurs (a type of primate) have wrist and elbow glands with spikes for the purpose of marking, I’d say that’d be evolutionarily lost to omegaverse humans because modern age… unless you want some possibly dangerous vestigial traits.

Some primates also have sternum glands and marking. It’s a bit more of an author’s choice as some primates don’t even have glands, and so don’t do the behaviors (like macaques and real life humans). These glands sorta range from being obvious to “wait, there’s a gland there?”

Also the abcc11 (less stinky arm axilla) would likely still be a thing. Don’t forget, fic writers of eastern characters! (Lmao white people enter chat and the locals are just “why do these rude strangers wanna fight so bad?”)

As far as neck “mate” marking… pheromone scent glands (as opposed to the regular sweat glands) are specialised, so it’s not entirely unreasonable (scientifically) for certain glands to have more specialised purposes. Perhaps matching one in the mouth to coat the teeth (does partner smear spit over teeth with tongue? I’m putting too much thought into this) prior to bite/marking.

Omegaverse would maybe-probably have other/more hormones especially considering the inherent intersexuality of (mainly) the omegas, but I’m TIRED of the fucking air freshener “natural human scents.” Testosterone is musky and sweet. Estrogen is… there really aren’t a lot of studies on it but it’s levels affect vaginal scents (fucking duh) which has been described as “most feminine” during follicular phase. Vaginal canal is slightly acidic so it’s gonna smell like it, remember that. Period control irl changes the scent, so how might “scent blockers” and “heat medication” do that? Patches or pill or insert or injection? (How might these things also affect discharge?) As do menstrual phase, life phase (i.e. prepubescence and menopausal) food and activities.

We already subconsciously communicate emotions via chemical cues, however, whether or not any animal can CHOOSE/CONSCIOUSLY generate these is unclear (see: “he pumped out calming pheromones to calm his omega/pup”)—I’d say sans calming oneself down or even angering oneself etc.

So history wise, as humanity develops ideas of couthe, they might erect things like the Shigir Idol with which to mark territory to avoid messying of territory via pissing and shitting everywhere because that’s also problematic hygiene wise (other animals understand this, btw), or because any handy landmark like a tree isn’t where it’d be ideal. Yup, I’m roping in how history can be factored into this shit, fite this nerd.

If I could choose, there’d be no “alpha voice,” ew, where’d that even come from and don’t say Dune. And no “primes,” whatever the fuck that even means. The elevated misogyny, too, would be burning in the dumpster courtesy of a mal o tov cocktail. Seriously, people, self reflect and also have more fun.

[I get angry] Heat, aka estrus, is when a female animal is receptive to mating and can conceive, it is NOT menstruation. It does NOT hurt the animal (or omega, in this case) although there may be blood smears in the mucus generation. STOP making it extra horny periods, you fucking ignorant weirdoes. It’s main signs are vulvar swelling, heightened mucosal creation/more vaginal discharge, decreased feeding, humping/mounting others around, and increased restlessness. Why the fuck would the smooth muscles be cramping during this? Hm? What’s being expelled? Do you even understand the fundamental purpose of a period? (*Takes the shit education system out back and-*)

Now, estrus and menstruation COULD coexist as periods are the body NOT re-absorbing that material (fuckin’ dumb move, mate, why do we exist) after not conceiving—which means it’s AFTER the human version of estrus—and also that entire grouping of organs begging for an end to existence. So the estrus cycle would be included in menstrual cycle as humans would be experiencing typical estrus as well. Also, I find the mindlessness fucking dumb—like brain fog/massive brain space taken up by the horniness, okay, but a fugue-like state of horniness is weird and dumb. In my opinion.

I’d add a lot more [allo]grooming—not THAT kind of grooming—to these aus too, since it’s an important social/wellbeing interaction in any sort of animal social groups, and we also do it naturally already, see: petting animals and head pats. Edit: also the “let’s take a baaAAAaath, I’ll wash your baaAAAaak!” No, I’m not trying to encourage more fluff in order to have imaginary people to live vicariously through because I’m lonely, what are you talking about.

Calling any babies pups/kits/kittens/cubs I think is stupid cute, so no notes, besides… let’s switch it up sometimes?

Last and reblog-added screencaps will be examples of how you can choose your omegas (female substitute) and alphas (male substitute) to scent mark and at what frequency. Toss a coin for your betas and gammas and deltas, I guess.

Final Space Season 3 Episode 1 Review **SPOILER WARNING!!**

...And Into The Fire we go!

I really have wanted to do a Final Space review for a while, so now - I'm going to do it, fuck it. Starting a couple episodes late, but after [insert shenanigans] I needed to let it cool off before getting back into it.

One last warning: THESE ARE NOT SPOILER FREE REVIEWS. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT SPOILED AND DO NOT WANT TO BE. THESE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME SUMMARIZATION INVOLVED.

With the disclaimer out of the way, let's get into it.

So, first of all, I have to acknowledge that this cold open? Fucking toasty. The entire first five or six minutes of this episode is flat out amazing and some of the best that Final Space is. Really intense - I love the dramatic cold open to a space chase.

Also, however, brief, the Quinnary reunion was nice. Quinnary is a ship that I enjoy subjectively more than objectively, but considering it really hits now even if S1 had issues... I can look past it yo.

Invictus proves his power and intimidation incredibly well this episode, between the Gary Zombies and even this first incredibly terrifying matchup - even Mooncake, who in any other situation has been able to zap it away, couldn't touch it. Really setting the villain well.

Small thing I want to acknowledge because there was some discourse on it -- Sheryl saying "I'm his mother; where do you think he got it from?" Was really nice to me. Obviously not all is forgiven, nor should it be, but it's just a nice bit of character development.

Then, Ava gets Yeeted by Bolo and breaks.

I could have taken a better screencap probably, but I will not.

Anyways, considering the cast of characters was way too fucking big in S2, I'm not... particularly aggrieved by this, especially since I didn't really like AVA anyways, but it is pretty unfortunate that one of the only female characters just got the ax without basically any development other than the obligatory robot comphet stuff. Whatever, I think this is setting the stage for HUE AI, so I'll bite my tongue.

That said, the conversation that HUE and AVA had before she died? Sweet.

And then they're in Final Space. Goddamn, they really went the extra mile animating and illustrating this episode. Gotta acknowledge it.

Also, quick note: New OP is a banger.

...And this is when the review's going to start getting a bit more negative, because we jump straight into everyone's favorite trope: a time skip.

I. I really have issues with this timeskip. This episode was fucking ballistic in the pacing, and I really, really wish that I could have spent some more time within Final Space just trying to survive. I get it. It was a premiere, so you wanted to go all out, but... I really wish we could have savored it. There's just suddenly a timeskip! We don't get to see how they've been surviving. We don't get to see shit. Quinn just suddenly appears in a new outfit, and then we're off the races.

I dunno man, I really had issues with the pacing of this episode, and this is the backbone of it. It's okay to take a breather, even in your opening episode. You have to know when to take a breather. This episode sorely needed it, and it didn't get it.

Also, obligatory Danger Groins mention. Yeah, I know that's not what he says. It's what he says in my heart, tho.

From here, the Gary zombies show up, which are... admittedly intimidating.

They get attacked, and - okay, can we fucking mention the titan fights for a moment? No matter what happens this season, I'm here for this. This is Gurren Lagann levels of ridiculous, and I fucking love it. Smash that planet, yo.

lThey get separated, and Avocato and Gary have a bit unfitting but fucking hilarious moment that has to be acknowledged. This shit ain't straight, yo. There's no fucking way you tell me this shit is straight.

And... *sigh* I really have some goddamn issues with the next... I don't know, I wasn't watching, six minutes?

"There's no more grossout scenes," we were told. "Season 2 gross out is done. No more weird fetishes."

Okay.

Okay, sure.

I'm sparing you the images, because I don't want to post grossout on my blog, but... holy shit, Quatronostro's birth scene. First of all, which of the fuckers on the blog keeps putting their fetishes in this show? Clarence is gone, so you're making Mpreg Tribore (I realize Tribore is canonically genderfluid, but he's male presenting at the time of this birth... and at every time... I don't have faith in two cishet men to actually make good on that, sorry. I hope I'm wrong.) Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.

The scene is gross, uncomfortable grossout. This isn't the 90s anymore!

Also, the other thing I have to acknowledge - that motherfucking robot. It's season 3 - haven't we moved past the screaming = funny leftover humor from Olan's YouTube days? Clearly fucking not.

Also, Ash did a really out of character thing this episode by shooting the robot. I... what is Ash's character, exactly? Ash is an inconsistent enigma. Someone define that poor girl's character, already.

After that... mess.... though, we do end up with a very solid ending. Bolo headbutts the planet, Quinn and Gary get swept up in the blast, and we end up with a very beautiful but quick scene of Gary and Quinn embracing one last time - it's very reminiscent of chapter 9, and I did thoroughly enjoy it.

iAlso, the shot of Mooncake saying "Gar" while looking for Gary, presuming he's dead? Oh, that just hurts.

And then we end with HUE saying, "We are alone, Gary." Honestly, genuinely was a little disappointed to find it wasn't just HUE and Gary. I thought this line was going to come later in the season, and it was just going to be HUE and Gary in a callback from season one. It wasn't, and I'm genuinely very disappointed as someone who's favorite dynamic in the entire show is S1 HUE and Gary. Of course, as a result, I'm not unbiased, and... well, I do stan Quinn too.

And goddamn, look at the Earth. She got fucked uuuuuup. I think I remember hearing next episode that there's only one survivor left, which I do NOT buy as a concept, but it's very cool to see a show that does not shy away from full apocalypse scale destruction of the earth. It like, never happens, so it's a nice subversion. Get fucked, earth.

Overall Thoughts:

This episode is the definition of a mixed bag. The beginning is fantastic and the ending is solid (even if personally disappointing), but the middle is genuinely kind of bad. The pacing is rough, there's season 2 tier grossout that I did NOT need to see, and that robot deserved a punt in the face.

The animation is fantastic though. Everyone point and stare at the animation.

I still think the good outweighed the bad, though - if only because of my personal attachment to the characters. I think this was a decent episode - probably on par with the other openers... actually, I don't know.

My disappointment with this episode was more than with the Toro Regatta, but that was more due to my own expectations and thus not fair to rank it that way. I don't know - all the first episodes of the seasons are meh at best, and this unfortunately due to the lackluster middle fit that mold as well.

If you asked me to give it a ranking, I'd probably say if we assume a 5 out of 10 is average, I'd give it a 6. Decent, fantastic when it's good, but the entire middle section really brought me out of it and because of that I can't give it anything more than that.

I've heard episodes two and three are good, though - excited to see the Ventrexian for myself after all the fuss, so let's see how it holds up!

I'm scared for Biskit tho.

okay so dimensions r a thing tumblr compresses photos like hella so i do all my still img aesthetics 900x900 is you’re trying to do this for say insta i would actually recommend jumping up to 1080x1080. pixels, obviously. idk if i have to clarify that.

so click ctrl+n or create new i’ll be doing 900x900

these r the rest of my settings i personally do not think they matter my resolution stays at 72 the only thing i’ve detected this affecting is font size. (side note notice how this pic looks all fuzzy? that’s bc it’s a ss with a boatload of pixels. and if there’s one thing tumblr hates. it’s pixels. and then it’s users. but who’s counting? tumblr is. i recommend keeping ur still images 900x900♥)

step two is collecting ur images i personally use pinterest for these bc quite frankly it’s really nice & easy to find these types of photos esp if you’re looking for a canon character bc if you type in [character name] aesthetic you’ll get stuff if you don’t quite frankly even just type in aesthetic you can scroll until you find an image you like click on that and go through like images underneath it and keep burning thru. like u probably know how to work pinterest. but i am being thorough and covering my bases. searching [color] aesthetic is also nice or even searching a character that isn’t the character you’re doing this for but who’s kind of similar that also works. i recommend esp for charmed bc their pinterest gets bogged down with screencaps and then like. charms like jewelry searching “charmed aesthetic” or “phoebe halliwell aesthetic” really just doesn’t cut it so what i’d recommend is instead of going through pins, go through boards.

bc like. big difference. other pro tips if you see a board you like, go to the person’s profile and check out their other boards bc odds are you’ll find more you like. another protip if you’re specifically doing ocs typing in oc aesthetic will get you a lot even going to the boards on that as well. yields.

so. you’ve gathered ur images. u need five. open em. i’m making an aesthetic 4 myself which you’ve probably already guessed from the fact i’m putting the finished piece at the top, but it’s not ready yet so it’s still a surprise for me.

cropping. if ur doing a 900x900, use these setting exactly. 1080x1080 use 1080/2 x 1080/3. i’m not doing the math 4 u ♥

most important part? Delete Cropped Pixels. otherwise ur not really doing anything. crop all five images.

but them in ur document. document? psd? ur thing ♥ place them places. u do not have to commit now. leave one middle one blank. it does not matter which one. i personally like to alternate my text pieces if i’m doing a long post like what i did on my ncwotng set. some people keep them all on the same side. this lowkey bugs me i feel like it throws off the Balance but i imagine some people like The Consistency. i don’t. but w/e. it’s up to u as this is gonna be ur set. also like. as you’ve cropped these to x/2,x/3 settings they should fit nice like puzzle pieces : )

the next step i personally like doing is creating by text box with The Color™ do this bc simply duplicating one of ur images, shoving it in the empty slot, and converting into a sharp object. edit contents.

now. obvi i selected these images w a color scheme in mid. i recommend u do the same. even if it’s just vague. they don’t all have 2 fit. this is my example of my sheridan piece b4 or after. tweaking is possible. layers w masks r ur friend. i can talk about them more if need be.

But. back 2 the smart object. brush tool. paint it.

the text i used was times new roman all caps 40pt font 0 spacing for the title and times new roman 14pt font 0 spacing italics for the subheading. here’s my dency b4 and after for comparison

next step is after you have your text in alright, shove everything into groups. mode on “normal”

then you can start editing. the groups let you edit things like lighting and color without touching any of the layers below it 👍

i’m not gonna do a Major coloring tutorial, for lighting i’ll usually tinker with exposure, levels, sometimes brightness/contrast. for colors, color balance + hue/saturation. i rarely touch anything else.

i’ll bring u along 4 the coloring of this one bc i’m gonna add a layer mask.

so the first thing i’m going to do bc the paper itself is already close to the vibe is i’m going to color it normal and just ignore the background

something like that. then i’m going to add a layer mask (square button w the plus sign)

and then i’m going to eye dropper a color off from somewhere else

now i was talking about the “normal” blend mode stops ur color settings from bleeding over onto other images? does not apply to painting on layers but you’re already masking this bad boy, so it doesn’t matter. just don’t say i didn’t warn u

i’d recommend using a really ridiculous blend mode to clean up ur thing at first, i’m using darken which isn’t that wild but like whatevs.

okay so i’ve basically dropped out of school at this point for multiple health reasons so i don’t really do much tbh lol. which means i have quite a lot of time for editing stuff, so i usually make at least one edit everyday, sometimes if i'm having a really creative spell i can make several in one day and i just keep them in my drafts to post for another day. but if i'm just really not feeling it or have no inspo or motivation i either won’t edit or just go onto photoshop and just play around until i make smth random haha. but sometimes i’ll just get a few screencaps and add some colouring and post that if i’m rly tired. so yeah sometimes i don’t edit every single day. but i have somehow managed to consistently post everyday for a while now, tho i’m not sure how long that’s going to last ahsjdkdj.

My Thoughts on RWBY’s new intro and chapter 1

This is going to be long so is there’s someone or something specific you want to read, I’d suggest using ctrl+f

WHITLEY

ngl i just want to start with my boy bc I’m so glad to see him back. Half of this is speculation and theorizing with no real merit ngl, but it’s something I’ve been thinking of for awhile

First of all this is a,,, very uncertain and conflicted look on his face here. He has his arm wrapped around his stomach and he looks very pensive. imo, Whitley’s going to be faced with a choice, one with no easy answer for him. And an answer that

might not bode well for the schnee family

Those clouds are, of course, Salem’s. Which makes me fear that Whitley may fuck up badly, and end up siding himself with the wrong people and it is likely going to be up to Weiss to bring him back.

Whitley isn’t a fighter. and if Whitley does cause the downfall of the Schnee family, he wont be at use for long. And once Whitley outlives his usefulness, there is no reason for her to keep him around.

But there’s a line that has been in my head for the last couple days. Namely Whitley’s line of ‘what could one huntsman do that an army cannot?’

Again, Whitley is no huntsman, but what it boils down to is ‘what can one person do?’ And I think Whitley is going to have to answer that question himself.

I do think that Whitley is going to have to act at some point. Do something that puts him out for the greater good. I don’t expect him to suddenly join the fight, but I do think he will have his Pacifica moment. Where there’s something that he is physically capable of doing, but emotionally and psychologically it’s a mountain to him. Something only he can do, and Whitley will have to be the one person who changes the outcome of something dreadful. And most likely, i do believe it will involve Weiss

NORA & REN & RENORA (but mostly Nora)

I love renora. it is one of my favourite ships. probably my third favourite i have to admit.

what I don’t like is how its been going lately. while i do have the initial shipper reaction of ‘YES’ to the kiss, nora forcing it on ren sits wrong with me. Even more so their song last volume. It’s a bop of a song, true, but so much of it is nora telling ren to tell the truth only for her to tell him to love her. and while i’m sure he does love her, nora’s forcing it out of him and assuming is not healthy for either of them. Ren needs to come to terms with his own feelings, and these two need a wedge between them for a moment to develop separate from one another.

and while i think ren will come to understand and accept how he feels

i think nora might give up on the pursuit and will put their mission above her feelings

But I do absolutely love the focus on Nora and I hope that’s a sign we are getting her backstory this volume. Nora is going to be a major piece in all of this and I personally cannot WAIT

I will say tho that I think her siding with Ruby’s plan is a little,,, strange to me. She was all gungho for protecting mantle last volume and i find it odd that she’s not on team ‘protect mantle first’. i get that she needs to be in that group because of what is shown in the trailer, but personally i would prefer her reluctantly forced into that group because of her usefulness. to keep the devive, that would mean ren would need to side with the ‘protect everyone’ but I don’t think it would have been that hard to spin his mindset that way

I’ve seen some talk about winter maiden nora and, while i personally would have preferred it, giving the power to penny only to give it to nora next volume is a little,,, cheap to me. ignoring the fact that it would likely mean penny would have to die and i am not about that life

i still think penny shooting lightning bolts at nora to power her up would be OP as FUCK tho

CLOVER

NO I AM NOT USING THE ONE SCREENCAP OF CLOVER THIS VOLUME YOU CAN’T MAKE ME

WARNING: Talk about dead bodies. Both fictional and real.

now i won’t lie, i am avoiding that shot like the fucking plague so I’m working mostly from memory here

I have seen bodies hours after someone has passed. Unless the body has something what effects the colour, here’s a greyness to the skin. Yes, this includes all skin colours. there’s also a distinct blue colour to the lips though clover doesn’t,,, exactly have distinctive lips.

But seeing his body gave me the same nauseous and horrified sensation as seeing a long dead body. Of course not nearly as strong as he’s fictional and it’s animated, but it was the same. that sick greyness I’d expect from a body. ngl that shit,,, i wont say it triggered me, but it got damn close. it brought back memories and left me feeling very sick. It’s obvious he is very dead.

but even with that feeling, that didn’t stop me from being very fucking confused when I realised where the body was.

Now there’s a number of reasons that clover’s body would be there

They could have tried to save him and failed. They’re in a state of emergency and all the doctors are brought to one collective spot to deal with the potential rise of people needing medical attention. Maybe Atlas just works this way who the fuck knows. Most likely, they just wanted the Ace Ops to witness James and having Clover there just makes it easier to do that. but jfc if you’re going to have bodies in the medical area can you not install curtains??

ngl if i was at the hospital and they had a dead body uncovered and in full view of my room i would be

I didn’t want to go back and see that image again, so i poked around the clover tag to see what people were saying in case i’m dumb and missed something. but i think if they were trying to bring clover back, they’d make it more obvious. and they sure as hell wouldn’t have coloured him that way. but I don’t blame people for being confused about if he’s dead or not when they literally put him in with people getting medical treatment and give him a patient number

but talking about Clover fuck i miss you so much brings me to

THE STAFF OF CREATION (with mentions of ‘that’ theory)

Ozpin: [mentions that using the staff will make Atlas fall]

Joanna: [talks about plans to move mantle citizens into atlas’ crater]

While it is debatable what the staff will be used on, I think we can all agree this bitch is coming down. Personally I think it’s how the volume will end. with the staff used, and atlas dropping. It’s a fantastic cliffhanger but fuck imma be so mad if that’s really where it ends.

let me,,, get to that theory first. we all know which one i mean.

I’m not going to lie, i haven’t read much into it. mainly because i’d rather not get my hopes up and be pleasantly surprised than get my hopes up and be disappointed. Do i think it’s plausible? Well... after steven universe i think anything is possible. If it has even the slightest merit behind it I wont rule it out.

Do i think it will happen? debatable. i don’t think it was their plan but i also wouldn’t be surprised if they added it after the reaction to clover last year. but i’m not holding my breath. i’m leaning far closer to ‘no’ but i’m open to being wrong Do i want it to happen? god yes i fucking miss him okay i’m sorry i’m selfish i love my dumb fisherman himbo

the problem though is, if it can be done, there needs to be some form of payment. I know there’s been talk about a life for a life, and these are the options that come to mind: James: Don’t like this. James is a character rooted deep in the story and I think trading his life for Clover’s is,,, questionable. idk something about this doesn’t sit right. Especially when he has far more history with qrow than clover did. Tyrian: this feels cheap. trading a villain for a hero? that’s not even a payment, that’s hitting two birds with one stone. I do believe Tyrian wont survive the series, but this way is,,,, very cheap Qrow: pppppppppffffffttttt honestly this would just be a dick move that’s some monkey paw shit right there

either way, reviving clover would drop atlas and put both the people on atlas and under in danger. so the question is, is reviving clover worth it.

ethically, no. it’s not. one life will never outweigh thousands. but would my selfish ass rather risk thousands of lives for one comfort character? you bet your sweet ass i would. it’s fiction, see if i care. storywise tho, we probably shouldn’t

But there’s nothing in the OP to suggest that Qrow is after the staff. and while it could be left for volume 9, i don’t see this volume lasting without dropping atlas after this volume started with the reminder that’s what would happen.

but ruby is shown reaching for it. (also is it just me or do those look like nuckelavee arms?) which makes me wonder just what she could want it for. Sure, she could be reaching to protect it, and that’s highly possible. but if we’re already talking about bringing characters back, i would not be too surprised if ruby considers the same idea. Namely with summer (though pyrrha is also an option). If she does consider that though, I don’t think she’ll succeed. and I doubt she’d really try if she knows atlas would fall.

though if she wants to use it to save the world, if there’s something she can make with it that will stop salem, then i might believe she’d risk it. but even then i have a hard time believing she’d risk peoples lives.

but who else could and can get her hands on the staff?

PENNY

our sweet and dear penny, who has already suggested giving herself over to salem. and who is shown divided and framed opposing the team

While her being hacked is an option, and one i think james would consider letting watts do, from a story point I believe it’s far more interesting if penny is the one to decide this for herself.

Penny is a protector. And she wants to protect everyone. And one way she could possibly do that is by cooperating with salem. And with that gd whale having docking stations and a whole damn room inside it, penny going to salem fits with the whole ‘being eaten by a whale’.

and if penny is the cause of atlas dropping, that girl is going to be dealing with even more guilt than she already has.

JAMES

me: okay, i know james shooting oscar was a big dick move, but james has done so many good things too. imo it’s questionable writing, but james’ stance is understandable. he’s still a good person-

listen. listen. listen. I... i don’t know what the fuck the writers are doing with this one. it would have been just as easy to arrest him but we just... gun happy i see. but james being gun happy makes me very nervous for qrow and that ‘if you were one of my men, i’d have you shot’. qrow’s out for james’ blood, but I don’t think qrow could ever actually kill him. and normally i don’t think james could try and kill qrow, but these are,,, not normal circumstances, and james has a semblance that will absolutely help him pull the trigger

i still love james. and i still understand both sides of the fight. and i still believe james is a good person. there’s so many good things james has done, but fuck if the writers aren’t trying their hardest to make the fandom hate him. and for the most part, it’s working. my gf already hates him lol

when all is said and done, there’s a lot that james is going to feel guilt for, but it’s guilt he’s willing to bare

while i understand the reason behind making james the bad guy, i will admit that i’m bitter about it. namely because in volumes 2 and 3 there were so many people expecting james to be bad, only for him to prove himself as a good person. and now the story is doing its best to take that back

THE ACE OPS

Again, one of the main reasons i think they put clover there and confused the fuck out of people. I think there’s going to be a divide in the ace ops, and i think we see which side people fall on here

harriet and vine are going to be harder to turn, but i think this moment just planted some uncertainty in elm and marrow. I dont think it’ll be an instant thing, but this isn’t something they’re going to forget. this is going to bother them for a good long while. yeah, the writers are trying to turn the fandom on james, but storywise it’s planting the seeds of betrayal and giving the ace ops a reason to switch sides. but i don’t think they’ll come into fruition until the end of the volume

And while we’re talking on betrayal, Winter is edging herself closer too. but while i think she’ll turn faster than the ops, i also think she’ll be the most understanding and caring of james of them all.

Yang vs Ruby

pitting them together is honestly a good thing for yang’s character. they still love each other. they’d still fight for each other.

they may see things differently, and they may go their own paths, but there’s no animosity. they can work together and have each others backs, even when they don’t agree.

and that’s something team rwby/ornj and friends and james/aceOPs need to work towards

Yang was never happy with Ruby keeping secrets, and personally i think it’s good for her to voice it and go a path she sees as right

Tyrian (and nuts and volts)

we’ve seen a lot of tyrian’s smiles. he is a very animated person who broadcasts his emotions. in fact, the only time he ever quiets down is in front of salem

this smile is the most ‘you bitch you’re lucky mum is here’ smile ive ever fucking seen on this man grhueiorfubgnjfroe

look, i don’t think tyrian and arthur are romantically involved. but i do think tyrian is fond of arthur. whether that’s romantic or platonic is up for debate, but tyrian has always spoken foldly of arthur. tyrian obviously does not like cinder or her crew, though he does love picking on them while i dont think he has that level of dislike for hazel, hazel is the sort of person to not like unnecessary killing, so i don’t see them getting close. Arthur crafted him his tail, and he organized a plan where tyrian got to murder often. out of the bunch, i think it’s rather obvious arthur is the person closest to him, and I also think he’s absolutely looking forward to seeing arthur again

Emerald/Mercury/Neo

first of all, FUCKING FINALLY! MY KIDS HAVE NEW OUTFITS! now there’s things i like and don’t like about mercury’s. personally, i like his old outfit better, but he NEEDED new clothes so i don’t miss it! Emerald is looking GOOD!! i don’t give a fuck what anyone says, she looking fine as hell

hazel tho, what the FUCK did they do to your hair?? who the fuck did this?? how DARE YOU

that’s all i have to say about hazel bc boy is quiet but WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE?? while we talking about new looks, winter is looking FIIIIINE too

Neo is, very obviously, finding this whole situation fucked up. i know a vast majority of us thought Neo would turn on Cinder, but at this point i believe she was content with finding a new reason to live. but the more cinder brushes her aside, and the more she gets to know salem, she’s looking more and more disturbed and annoyed with it all.

emerald is an obvious turn. with her whole Aladdin tale, i wont be surprised if she takes the lamp from salem and uses the last question. (i’ll admit though that i’m curious what salem’s question(s) is). now i still think neo will want to kill ruby, but i don’t see her staying sided with salem and cinder. i will say tho that I find it fucking HILARIOUS that salem has no fucking idea who she is. how much of cinder’s plan did salem even know? did she know about roman? did she know about mercury and emerald before they went to pick up her silver eye’d ass? Salem cut Cinder down for ‘acting without salem’s say so’ but how much of that has cinder already been doing before now pffffttt

but mercury’s the only one that isn’t showing that much hint to turning. and personally, that makes sense. Mercury’s been shown plenty of times being disturbed by it all. he’s always stood beside emerald, equally frightened or distrusting. but if salem is calm and mercury’s in no real immediate danger, mercury has always tried to play with the big boys. he has a better poker face than emerald and neo, but he doesn’t belong there nearly as much as he pretends to.

but mr pokerface isn’t perfect. the moment he notices cinder, his attention goes back to emerald, and he watches her. he’s told her before that cinder doesn’t care for them. he’s tried to break that to her, and when they come to face cinder he’s not happy. less so when emerald instantly runs back to her. he knows emerald’s goiing to get hurt, and while he’d like to think he’d be the type to say ‘i told you so’, he’s not going to take pleasure in seeing her hurt

but one think about emerald is that she reminds me a lot of nora. they were both starved and homeless, and were ‘saved’ by someone else. but cinder is no lie ren, and emerald’s gone a very different path. not to mention her ‘saviour’ came much later in her life, and nora is on equal footing with ren and has saved him right back. but nora has been shown to empathise with mantle and its condition. which makes me wonder if emerald will too. she described the attack on vale as ‘sad’. So emerald, how will you feel when you take in the situation in mantle?

CINDER

i’ll be honest, i don’t like cinder. I’m sorry ;n; she just never interested me. she has a nice design, but other than that i just,,, never clicked with her. but i am happy we’re getting a backstory for her. mostly because it’s damn well due, and for her fans. y’all enjoy your food

that is,,, where i’m going to leave it. it’s late and i need to sleep. there’s probably things i missed, and if there is i’ll add to it in the morning. but these are the immediate thoughts that come to mind.

Okay... RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MAX - PART 2

I went on deep analysis mode this time to try and say all of Max's little nice and cute moments I know of.. Pls take notice, tho!! I'm not trying to flex or anything, I'm just a simple peasant girl on Maximilian's kingdom for a long time and it happens I have FBI blood in my veins 😭 so It's all gather on my brain and hard drive lol SO! I'm just answering this ask with a lot of thought and care so you can know more about Max and how he is even more awesome than you think!!! (And just in text form, cause Max doesn't need to be tagged on more personal stuff on IG (there’s too much illegal fishing at my tumblr pond already! 👏). It’s probably weird to know certain things, yes, but at least I'm respectful, I'll never bother him with this kind of stuff). Well, enjoy the bible below to end up knowing very little about him, still haha.. Just some more small facts.

- Max was at a barbecue just yesterday. It was someones birthday from the set of his new movie. He drank his beer, like usual, idk about the meat.. there was wurst and chicken.. I'm not sure if he's trying to be a vegetarian or not (after that thoughtful video he posted) 🤔.. maybe he didn't eat it, I don't know!!

- a little while before the start of this shooting, he was at the Baltic Sea filming for the series he's gonna be in (just one episode again! Don't get your hopes too high lol he's gonna be a security guard who disappears mysteriously, so....)

- He helped his friend renovate his house a few weeks ago!! How could I forget that on the first post.. Then, he had to go to Hesse for the movie shooting, and his friend had to call another friend to come help him lmao damn

I think I could describe some videos I have then... at least there's some cool and funny stuff. (Friends himself tagged in the past and cast friends)

- Max's dad went to the same uni as him. Also, he voiced a police officer on the phone in a short film Max wrote and directed all by himself (he didn't act on it, but he was also another police officer over the phone haha). Another thing, his dad made the official music for one of his plays.

- The falafel day.. his friend was taking a piss filming Max at the shop from afar and zooming in, saying "omg, guys! I found Noah from Dark! - the day he went to take a walk in nature. His friend asks him for a cigarette, he is denied, he goes to take it anyway, Max slams his cup of tea on the table and tries to take his cigarette back and it's all black and they're just laughing lmao (I love his laugh btw, so giggly!)

There was storys posted by Max himself.. so, maybe you saw it, but it's from before dark s3 came out.

- The pigeon storys. He filmed two pigeons chasing each other at the station, one always running from the other and he captioned "me trying to flirt" haha

- He screen recorded an ad for an app that deletes people from pictures and made some joke too, I can't remember exactly what he wrote, smt like "when you break up, but still wants to keep the picture" lol also, he unfollowed like 5 people that week after posting that... hm 👀

- he posted a video of him walking in the dark with really cold wind.. you can only see his hair flying around. Also, with a mask on, another chasing a cat in a big field, and that one drinking his coffee and eating his yogurt (you most likely saw it already)

- Ohh.. His friend was playing Max's drums the other day!!! Made a lot of jokes, it was obvious he was messing around in Max's room (maybe they live together, maybe he just waters the plants lol idk). Some of the jokes were "I've been playing this drums since 1921" and "the drums and me are a perfect pair, don't ever believe otherwise". I wonder what Max said to him.. he can't do anything about it, he's not in Berlin hahah. He has a little giraffe in his room, and other home decors (you can see it on his drumming video on his own IG)

- he likes to read on longer train rides.

- there's a video of him screaming inside a wardrobe after being jumped by a friend and one of him putting lipstick on with the song "I'm a sexy motherfucker" playing in the background hehe we was tagged, it was easy to find when there wasn't much tagged post.

- There's moments of ppl filming something/themselves and he just comes and photobombs it lol he is just like thiss 👏 showing his tongue and doing a funny face and such. One of those I saw it on the IG of a Das Boot cast member I actually already followed before.

- this group was such a blast. There's a few pictures, one of them he's in a dress, he has white stockings on til his thighs, heels and all haha lovely

- His improv-group.. he was almost in tears singing "I believe I can fly" with the group on their last day.. But he was happy! A mix of emotions. He loves everyone, he expresses his love a lot to people in general, he says it and adds heart emojis to make sure haha you can see his comments going on IG of his cast friends, especially from Das Boot (I followed a lot of the guys). So, about always commenting something funny on people's posts.. I didn't saved those, so I forgot most of it, but one I remember was that someone posted a video of a hailstorm and he was like "what are u doing, free ice!! Go grab them" hahaha

- Max has that Noah picture where he's peaking by a wall (you know that one Baran posted) printed and framed! 👏

- Things he’s pretty much always with: his backpack and his big headphones (it's always on his neck. At almost every picture, from every year, with different people etc. I was confused when he had normal headphones at his farm storys. Maybe he forgot them in Berlin 😭. Besides those, his rings, necklaces and bracelets (always, for years and years! Same ones, even). He uses frequently on premieres, as I saw it. Sometimes they also show up on his characters in his one-episode works!! Hahah is so nice when that happens. You can notice this on my screencaps.

- that pic of him that is everywhere now (with glasses, holding a bottle of champagne), I posted that months ago.. There's 2 more pics and 1 video. One pic, he is pretending the automatic lighter that's on the table is a Harry Potter wand (but I think I cropped the table, right.. I can't remember). This was actually posted by Max himself and he tagged his friend who took it. I went to see if they posted smt and there was a picture where he is literally biting the cork of that bottle off with his teeth Lmaoo, and one video.. he is talking on the phone trying to block the view with his feet.. this man!!

- he really doesn't care about buying too much unnecessary clothes and shoes and stuff. He is mindful of his things and the environment!!

- there's a video of him on the set of Der Zauberlehrling, I need to recall where I got that from (maybe I could share this one. I'm not sure), he is messing with the broom and someone asks him "hey Max, what's that animal?" and points to the fluffy microphone. He says "it's a fucked up coala bear" (in english) 😂

Again.. I can't say names or anything, cause ppl are not mindful! Like.. I know I'm probably weird, but only for myself and my FBI office LOL I don't go over there and follow/reply to all these people’s posts and storys or take their videos and tag Max on them, this is just not.... nah. I'll always be respectful (yeah, some older stuff has gifs, cause he had like 10k followers, and 5 fans on tumblr lol But i never sent/tag him in anything personal directly.. that’s why i only posted on tumblr for the past year, in fact! I never thought things would be the way they are now a year later.. so, newer stuff it's not posted/gif nor ever will). I don't want him to be weirded out and like, disappear from IG!! I think about these things.. when people are being weird and stuff towards him. I don’t know how ppl don’t think about this when tagging him recklessly in random pictures and videos!!!

I wish he had more interviews, so we could know more proper stuff about him. (The few interviews he has are translated on my IG highlight. There's still an 8min interview missing there, cause I'm contemplating about being more of a bother to german speaking people, since I only have basic german..

Higurashi 2020 ep 1

Y’all I can’t even let the video play for 5 seconds without screencapping everyone’s faces. My kids are baaaack.

Oh no. Ah fuck. Gosh darn dangdity. Nobody fucking touch Rika. She is baby.

Rena is also baby. Look at her! She’s so cute. Tbh I think she looks more stylistic in the original series/vns ( yes that art style sue me ) but this design is still really cuuute.

I already know what’s happening before it happens but I love this. I know these characters so well and the sense of familiarity feels really welcoming. And I really hope that this new adaptation brings in new fans who come to love this world and these characters as much as I do. I know this is really all just me gushing over something I’m way too deeply invested in and who cares right? But whatever that’s what I’m here for.

I love these kids so fucking much.

So there was actually a callback ( if you can call it that ) to the first episode of the original anime right here? They changed the card game to a scavenger hunt which is fine because the club activities aren’t super relevant to the plot but they mentioned the card game as if it already happened in-universe even though they didn’t show it onscreen? I mean at least they mentioned it but it might have been better to keep that scene instead of changing it for reasons I’m not gonna get into here. ( I might make more posts with actual spoilers under the cut but this is just a general spoiler-free reaction post/me fangirling )

That said I hope they cut down on some of the more fanservicey scenes as well.

Holy shit they kept the opening theme ( the original ost in general tho ) I love it I love it I love it this is so hype. I can’t wait to see the new opening animation hhhhh.

Okay that was really good. I just spent like 4 hours pausing and screencapping the episode because oh my goodness. There’s definitely some differences from the original and added content but this was still a really good episode. I’m going to have to watch the old series and make comparisons between the old and new episodes but so far this is looking really promising. I’m personally more used to the old art style but the updated animation was very much needed. And I like that they kept all the original music and voice actors. I’m just hoping they add some more stuff that was left out of the original adaptation ( which is the main complaint from people who compare the anime to the source material ) but this is still really good and I’m going to watch it regardless. Even if it wasn’t good I’d still watch it because I’m a higurashi nerd. And obviously there are going to be differences and each adaptation will have it’s strengths and weaknesses but I’m really happy with this so far and I can’t wait to see moooree. I only wish I could go back and experience the series again for the first time because obviously it’s going to have a different effect on newcomers than someone who’s seen the series multiple times in several different iterations.

edit: so apparently I missed an after-credits scene and all I can say is what in the hell is that. That is not in the original. Rika honey. Go take some eyedrops.

Dreamlike Dispatch 3 of 9

See Recap One for a complete note, but TL;DR SPOILERS FOR ZHU YILONG’S PARTS OF GRANTING YOU A DREAMLIKE LIFE.

Okay, where the fuck were we? Buckle up because Granting You a Dreamlike Life is on a JOURNEY. Since we last spoke:

- Zhu Yilong recovered from his gunshot wound - his meimei who is in love with him kidnapped the girl he and his childhood friend both like (but just like, to scare her tho) - he ran to rescue her in the woods, where they got chased by CGI wolves (yikes) into a cave - at this point, very unfortunately, they made me kind of care about the het ship :/

It's been revealed that, ofc, Zhu Yilong had a traumatic childhood (watched his parents die in front of him), and now he can't sleep unless it's super noisy, bc he can't be alone with his thoughts. He solves this by sleeping above a burlesque club (nightclub??? dance club. there are girls and they dance) and, it turns out, by listening to the main girl sing Beijing opera (she's an opera singer, is her whole thing). He's genuinely a huge opera fan, which is a very cute trait for a gangster to have ngl, and when he hears her sing, he discovers he can actually sleep the night through afterward. This is basically why he likes her, and he's been semi-stalking her and forcing her to hang out with him even though his childhood best friend and she are going out on actual dates (which, from what I've seen in between fast forwards, are CRIMINALLY sappy affairs that I'm just so glad I've decided not to watch).

In the cave, she can't help dig them to freedom because she twisted her ankle (my eyeroll can be seen from space), so instead she sings him some Beijing opera (which she has previously refused to do for him unless forced) while he digs them out. I genuinely don't think I can find a screencap cute enough to convey the absolute radiance of his sweet grateful smile when he realizes what she's doing, but this one's okay:

So, unfortunately, now I care about that.

He digs them a hole but then the whole cave is coming down!!! So he pushes her out and yells that he likes her and then it all collapses on him. At this point, his best friend comes with a squad of cops (his best friend has become a cop, like literally just now, specifically so that he could come rescue Zhu Yilong out of the woods? I feel like it shouldn't have been that easy? this might have made more sense if I watched more scenes lol) and they dig him out. He's not breathing!!!!! His friend completely loses his entire shit, doing the non-kissing type of CPR and sobbing like a child, "Wake up for me, Luo Fusheng. You have to wake up for me! Wake up for me!" while all the cops look on uncomfortably.

Finally, they pull him away because they're like, dude, he's dead. Please stop hitting him and crying.

This shot is just here because he's pretty and has nice legs. I HAVE NO REGRETS.

Anyway, the girl asks him to wake up and so it turns out he's not dead after all. The best friend has deeply and visibly mixed feelings about her being able to do that instead of him.

A lot of shit happens, the girl gets VERY mad at the best friend for giving up on his dreams of being a doctor to become a police officer, which, mood, fuck the police, and the meimei schemes to get them back together so that Zhu Yilong will stop thinking about the girl. This goes about how you would expect: she arranges them all at a movie theater, where the friend publicly announces his feelings for the girl and asks her to be his girlfriend. She says yes. Zhu Yilong makes this face:

And leaves the theater right in the middle of the pop ballad love montage. (Also, take a look at that waistcoat! His character is so well dressed in this show!)

Top 10 Scenes in TDP Season 2 (pt. 2/3)

1) Lujaane and Callum Ep. 1

I'm cheating again but,, mmm whatever

The first scene here we get to learn more about the history of moonshadow elves. The moon nexus, a historical place that was a big part in moonshadow society/history. And we'll get to see what goes down there in the graphic novel!

And a few minutes later we learn about arcanums. Lujaane is telling Callum that humans can't do magic; they aren't born connected to an arcanum. But Callum knows that being a mage is his destiny and is pretty adamant about it.

I can't really explain it, but these scenes really opened the world of elven history and magic. It's also interesting to see the viewpoints of different generations (not including the fact that Lujaane is an elf). Lujaane, our hippie grandma elf, is instilled with the beliefs that humans can't do magic. They're really not special... at least in the ways that elves and dragons are. And there's Callum who will not take accept that. Lujaane doesn't judge him (at least not very much) for wanting this. She's tame throughout this whole thing, but then again, she didn't hesitate to help Ava a few years ago.

2) Soren trying to kill ezran Ep. 2

This was tough cos there’s a lot happening in this episode. But I finally settled on Soren trying to and justifying his attempt to kill Ez. Leading up to this, Soren is talking to himself and struggling with his morals.

“You can’t hurt a kid, Soren. He’s just a kid.

On the other hand, if there’s an accident because he’s doing something dangerous and stupid, well... that’s on him.”

We see him battling his conscience all the while trying to not disappoint his dad. And this screen cap has the splint (?) in the focus whereas Soren and Ez get blurred out. This isn’t the first time the show has done this, but it’s definitely no mistake. Each scene and camera placement is done for a reason. But this scene it to focus on what Soren plans on doing to make it look like an accident, so he can just claim it as an accident and clears his conscience of being a murderer.

3) Callum learns about Harrow’s fate and tries to tell Ez Ep. 3

I think this one is an obvious one. Callum has learned that Harrow is dead and is now put in the position of breaking the news to Ez. Of course he finds it difficult to do. The part where they’re walking down the pathway and Callum is using the same speech Harrow gave him just makes me- ;-;;;

4) Claudia at the end of episode 3

Now I’d like to say that I don’t believe that Claudia (and Soren) are bad people. Claudia has a good heart but I think she’s misguided. Because her mission was to bring the egg back she was going to do everything in her power to make sure she did. In this scene, Claudia left dark magic as the last resort but thankfully the group got away. I just thought this scene really showed what she’s capable of when it come to dark magic.

5) This screencap right here is all I need Ep. 4

Seriously tho.. I have a hard time choosing a scene. A lot of shit goes down in this season. But for the sake of it I’ll be going with the famous scene that birthed Rayllum: The Rain & Thunder Scene OOoooo)000

I love this scene. Almost as much as I love the screenshot of Zym sliding wall to wall. But it’s a beautiful scene and I don’t know how to put it.. This scene really emphasized their closeness as friends. That’s all I have to say about that cos it’s just beautiful.

6) Queen Aanya roasting the shit out of Viren Ep. 5

That is all. :))

7) Callum reads Harrow’s letter Ep. 6

Alright this one’s sweet. Callum gets the time to read the letter from Harrow. It gives him advice about what lies ahead. A lie, a wish, and a secret. It’s very telling how much Harrow loved Callum and how much he respected him as a person. It’s just.. a real tear jerker and it hurts ;-;

8) Callum uses dark magic to save Pirah Ep. 7

Callum knows dark magic is bad and terrible, but he also understands how important it was for Rayla to save the dragon. He takes that risk not only for Rayla but also his way to make a stand for himself. Without the primal stone, Callum goes back to being a regular no-magic human and this isn’t something he’s going to accept. Without it he can’t stand against the armed soldiers guarding the dragon, but by using dark magic he could. These were risks he was willing to take no matter how dangerous or even if it goes against his morals.

9) Claudia chooses Soren over Zym Ep. 7 - 8

THIS IS ANOTHER CHEAT suck it

So Claudia goes against her dad’s orders and chooses her brother. Clearly family is a very important thing to Claudia and she would do anything for them even if it meant harming others or doing things that are considered immoral. She look back and forth to Zym and Soren but it doesn’t take her long to run over to Soren.

And when Soren is permanently paralyzed, she goes off to find a solution. Said solution is to find an animal that is young and agile- the deer- and you its life force to fix Soren. This really shows how far Claudia would go to keep her family. It’s sweet but also sad, especially when we learn about her mother leaving when she was young.

10) Callum’s nightmare Ep. 8

Okay I’m gonna pair this with episode 9. Yes, another cheat what a shock. Anyway, Callum falls into a sorta deep sleep as a result from dark magic. He’s running a high fever and the area around his eyes have darkened.

It’s really just him battling his conscience, and trying to choose the ‘right’ path. Y’know, it really is the epitome of a lucid.. nightmare-ish dream. But in the end he wakes up, having learned what it means to be a connected to an arcanum; meaning that he’s made a connection with the sky arcanum.

Extra:

Claudia being all cute and fluffy when she sees Zym for the first time

Viren finally gets to see what’s so special about the mirror... or at least he gets to see the man in the mirror (literally).

Villads and Berto being one of the best duos (imo) in the series. Despite being fully blind, Villads is a fully capable captain with a helpful little parrot.

Callum tries to forge a connection by climbing up to the top of a lighthouse with Zym during a thunder storm. He wants it so badly but he also realizes it’s kinda dumb to almost kill yourself over it (when he almost touches the metal pole).

Janai and Amaya’s fight. It’s hilarious with them baiting each other. They’re just fun to watch when they’re together.
