the one where shosei and syoya realised that 'it's jo1'.

his hands trembled as he quietly tried to light his cigarette in the pouring rain. his mind was racing. what was he doing? is he crazy?

"shosei?"

he flinched as the voice startled him out of his thoughts. he turned to see sho standing over him with an umbrella. the soft street light shone above him and for a second shosei thought he was seeing an angel.

"syoya told me you wanted to talk to me."

shosei nodded, his mouth suddenly dry. he tried to stand, but his legs were weak and he buckled. sho reached out to him, swiftly pulling the younger to his feet like he weighed as much as a feather.

shosei thought his heart might beat out of his chest.

his cigarette, still unlit, was thrown back into his bag as he stared down at the puddles on the ground, unable to speak.

"are you okay?" sho leaned into him with concern. please don't get any closer, shosei begged to himself. i might die if i have to look at you any more.

shosei nodded, trying his best to look up at sho. god, this man is beautiful. why did he have to like him so much? "i wanted to tell you... something.."

"well, what is it?" sho's eyes shone brightly. he didn't have a clue in the world about the turmoil and nervousness shosei was experiencing.

"ah.. ever since, um.." shosei's voice shook, and he thought he might burst into tears. "since.. that day.. with you and syoya.."

sho tilted his head. "what day? when we took you to the aquarium?"

nodding, shosei swallowed dryly. i'm going to die.

"since that day... i've kind of.. kinda.." he fidgeted with his sleeves, trying to get the words out coherently.

sho leaned back in to hear better. "what is it dear? is everything alright?"

dear. love. sweetheart. sho didn't use them for everyone, mostly just syoya, but shosei must have been special. or something.

he hated being called that. he hated that his heart fluttered looking at his closest friend's boyfriend.

he hated that he laid in his arms on stormy nights and sho didn't have a clue that he was trying not to weep from the feelings in his chest.

he hated that when sho got up in the morning, the first thing he would do is kiss syoya and ruffle shosei's hair.

he wanted to be kissed too.

shosei sighed. "it really makes it hard for me to think logically when you act like that."

"mhm?"

sho didn't have a damn clue, did he?

mustering the courage to look sho in the face, hot tears rolled down shosei's cheeks. "you can't treat me like i'm someone special to you and him and then be so fucking clueless."

sho's eyes widened. "shosei, love, what are you talking about?"

"that." shosei shook his head. "love, sweetheart, doll, dear... nobody gets to hear that but him. and me. why me?"

"i don't understand, shosei."

shosei pulled away from him, standing fully in the rain now. "i like you, yonashiro sho. i like you and i've liked you for a long time and it makes me fucking crazy that you can act like i'm someone special to you and then not have a clue what it means to me."

the realization dawned on sho, and he laughed.

oh god, he laughed.

shosei began to back away. everything is ruined.

there was a long moment of silence as shosei stood several feet from sho, unable to speak or move. sho wasn't looking at him. he was looking at the clouds in the sky. a smile began to creep across his face.

he looked down at shosei. "c'mere," he waved. "get out of the rain."

shosei couldn't move. what if he's upset? what is he going to do? what if he just pretends like i never said anything? what if he tells syoya and they never speak to me again?

sighing, sho walked towards shosei's still body instead. he stopped a few inches from him.

sho looked down at shosei, who was trembling violently. "sweetheart," he whispered, watching the tears stream down shosei's rain drenched face.

he pushed the hair out of the younger's eyes.

shosei looked up, heart racing. "sho, please—"

and then sho kissed him.
