The gym was buzzing with excitement as the final buzzer echoed through the arena. You had been cheering for Jacy Sheldon and her team all game, your voice hoarse from all the shouting and clapping. As the crowd began to thin out, you made your way to the court, eager to congratulate her on the win.

Jacy spotted you from across the floor, her face breaking into a radiant smile that made your heart flutter. She waved you over, her energy still high from the game. “Hey, you!” she called out, her eyes lighting up as you approached.

“You were amazing out there,” you said, grinning. “I knew you’d pull it off.”

Jacy’s cheeks flushed a bit at the compliment. “Thanks! It was a tough game, but it feels great to win. I couldn’t have done it without your support.”

You walked with her towards the locker room, the two of you chatting about the game and your day. As you reached the entrance, Jacy paused, her expression suddenly serious. “There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” she began, her gaze dropping to the floor for a moment before meeting yours again.

You felt a flutter of nerves but gave her an encouraging smile. “What’s up?”

Jacy took a deep breath, her hands slightly trembling. “I’ve been thinking a lot about us lately. I know we’re always hanging out and having fun, but I want you to know that I really care about you. More than just as a friend.” She looked at you with a mix of hope and vulnerability.

Your heart skipped a beat, and you felt a warmth spread through you. “Jacy, I’ve been feeling the same way,” you admitted, your voice soft but confident. “I’m really glad you told me.”

A relieved smile spread across Jacy’s face, and she stepped closer, taking your hands in hers. “I’m so glad. I didn’t want to mess things up between us, but I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer.”

You squeezed her hands gently, your smile matching hers. “You didn’t mess anything up. In fact, you made it even better.”

Jacy’s eyes sparkled with happiness as she leaned in, her forehead resting gently against yours. “Well, I guess that’s the best kind of mess-up.”

And in that quiet moment, surrounded by the echoes of the game and the warmth of her presence, you both knew that whatever came next, you’d face it together.

Because Caitlin is on film saying how cool it would be if Sue was sitting courtside for her game? Maybe because Iowa/Caitlin have been one of the biggest storylines this tournament? Maybe because Sue's childhood neighbor's daughter is Caitlin's college roommate? Who knows, who cares? They're trying to build WBB- it won't help if every effort is questioned and second-guessed. And we don't know a meet up with Louisville didn't happen- we just know it wasn't filmed, or hasn't been shown yet.

Highlighting only one story all year does not grow the sport at all. I thought Sue knew that.

Remember what Dawn said about all this?

Women's basketball absolutely does not need Sue to become another Holly Rowe. We do not need her highlighting the biggest women's basketball story at the expense of all other stories. If she has the time to visit Iowa, she has the time to visit Louisville. And Virginia Tech and Ohio State, too. She's here. The teams are here. Visit all of them. Highlight all of them. Don't be Holly Rowe. It's obnoxious.
