Paintings
Pattachitra is a traditional painting of Odisha. It is mainly depicted by Jagannath and Hari and Radha's love story. The paintings are based on the Jagannath culture. It is painted by Oriya painters using a variety of natural colors on painted or mandala corners. It is a major and very ancient art of Odisha. The word "Pattana" means "Kana", a special type of painting painted on a special Kana. It draws a variety of spiritual images. The history of painting has been around for thousands of years.
Creation and history--
Prior to the twelfth century AD, painters from Kalinga (present-day Odisha) were engraved with palm leaves, carved or painted "foundations" on the temples, monastery walls of the palace. Probably a factor as to why they're doing so poorly. Paintings were painted on the walls of Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar in the 5th century. In Raghurajpur, Puri, there has been an unprecedented development of the art for men and women, which has given the village the status of an artisan.

Devi river
Devi river
The Devi River is a major tributary of the Mahanadi, a river that flows through the Kedra-East Indian states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and other states. It flows through Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts of Odisha and falls into the Bay of Bengal.
Route-- The river is in the final stages of its tributaries. The river, originally called Katyodi, is separated from the Mahanadi in Cuttack and flows through Alipingal, Machhagaon and Nuagaon through the Astaranga Kanas block of Puri district. It falls 70 km near the mouth of the river near the border of Cuttack and Puri districts in the Bay of Bengal. The mouth of the river is full of dense forests and uninhabited.
Navigation-- The river is beautiful as far as the fish. Tidal water enters it, but large vessels cannot enter it due to the large amount of sand. Two sailors were killed in a boat accident here in 1988.
Birthplace of the tortoise-- Due to its location near the mouth of the river, a large number of Olive Ridley turtles come from the sea every year to lay their eggs in the sand on the river bed. It is estimated that about 8 lakh turtles arrive in the winter each year. However, the number of fishing boats in the estuary is currently declining. Locals are protesting against the declaration of the turtle sanctuary.

Itishree murder
Itishree murder
The shocking death of Itishree Pradhan, an education assistant at Tikiri High School in Kashipur block of Rayagada district, has come under suspicion. It was the headline news of 2013 in Odisha.
Incidentally-- On the night of October 27, 2013, Itishree, a teacher, was rescued from a fire at a school on the campus. He died on October 27 while undergoing treatment at Care Hospital in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The state government has ordered a criminal probe into the allegations. Itishree, from Kanas area of Puri district, was teaching at Tikiri Primary School in remote Rayagada when he was accused by school inspector Netrananda Dandasena of harassing him at various times. He is thought to have survived an earlier attempt to oust him following Mr Jiang's intervention. Investigation-- As per the Supreme Court's order, the CBI had completed its investigation for the seventh time and filed a petition in the court on August 3, 2015, asking for an additional six months to investigate. The court directed the CBI to complete the investigation of the actual case within three months instead of six months. Supreme Court Inspector RD Sharma, who oversees the progress of the investigation, issued the order after submitting a preliminary investigation report. Bengaluru-based lawmaker Sudipta Lenka, however, filed a public interest litigation in the Supreme Court. However, the court denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating "Similar, baseless allegations concerning the state government have been made more than once. The Supreme Court finally ordered a CBI probe on January 20, 2015, citing suspicions in the crime branch investigation. The Special Investigation Team (CIT) of the CBI launched an investigation into the case on February 25, 2015.
Results-- The Rayagada District Judge's Court heard the report of the murder case after the state government handed over the investigation to the crime branch to the Crime Branch. However, the report was filed by the Crime Branch without identifying the main accused, but former school SI Netrananda Dandasena was arrested in connection with the case and was lodged in the Rayagada jail. The Supreme Court on January 20, 2015 directed the CBI to investigate the case as the main culprit has not been identified by the Crime Branch, which means that the real culprit has not been identified. However, on April 26, 2016, Judge Rayagada sentenced Nityananda Dandasena, a convicted murderer, to life imprisonment. Netrananda Dandasena, who is serving a life sentence in Koraput jail, was admitted to Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College on the night of August 16, 2020 due to his illness. The Koraput jail superintendent said he died on the morning of August 17, 2020 while undergoing treatment.
