Stag is very passionate about his television, and his favorite show is Walker Texas Ranger, which he watches on one of those old box TVs in his cabin in the Appalachian forests. He does not care for the dreaded flat screens, including phones and such. He prefers the classics. This is also the reason he doesn't visit Wilbur anymore.

Stag fears only two things : cars and flat screen tvs.

Welcome my two Octonauts OCs, Vivian Vulture and Darwin Thylacine!

Vivian Vulture

Though she rarely gets contacted for work through the octo agency (they're a bit too good at their jobs of saving animals), she is a veterinary pathologist! She specializes in performing post mortem exams and all things related to death. She can sniff out any disease and snuff out any foul play in a creatures death. Besides having an irregular schedule with the octonauts, she takes on many jobs from other companies and small side gigs that range from being a seamstress to repairing living animals.

She's 28 years old, and just very wrinkly. She lives in her small home with her roommate and old friend, Darwin, who lives in her basement and contributes only good vibes.

Darwin Thylacine

An expert in cryptozoology with his PhD from a totally real and accredited online university. He runs a podcast and an internet blog advocating for the protection and safe documentation of cryptids. Is he aware that his own species technically counts as a cryptid? No. No one else really knows either.

At 27 years old, his life goal is to meet and interview a crpytid for the book he's been writing "Cryptids Are Our Friends". He is yet to have his resume even looked at by the octo agency.

I can’t believe how far I’ve come from drawing these two. Like, both of them look so much better than when I first drew them it’s insane. Literally a year and my entire style has shifted and it totally shows! Ofc I’m still learning, anthros are still an entirely new territory for me but I’m having so much fun learning how do draw them!

Old Style:

Like I mentioned before this was the very first scene I ever came up with and it took me about 1-2 years to actually create it. I’d like to also try recreating MEOMI’s style again because I wanna redraw Emma so she isn’t terrifying lol.

Emma and Barnacles have such a special place in my heart. Their connection is beyond words (which sucks for me because I have to create words in order to explain it lol).

My goal is to have more interactions between all of the characters, I’ve just been so busy with all of my new ideas I keep forgetting about my old ones. I especially want to draw Tweak and Dashi more often. I just gotta find time to do it.

I’m still deciding what to post next week, ngl I have some Y.N. / Fae childhood content I’ve been dying to transfer, but I keep forgetting about it. That and I have those headcanons to make, bleh.

OCTONAUTS OC 🦌====================

Stag The "Deer" !

Species & Age : Deer(?) "We're not really sure..." ~~~the locals of Appalachia. Aro/Ace, as requested by my sibling @anxiousstarlight --- he/him/they/them/it/its (really doesn't care, but for simplicity, he tends to respond to he or they)

Personality : silent, friendly, yet the mysterious type, with a habit of showing up out of nowhere. Never speaks --- "We don't know if he can."

As stated by the locals, he's pretty harmless unless you tick him off. He doesn't care for motorists, as one ran him over once. "If ya feel he's around, stop your vehicle, get out, and continue on foot. You can come back for it later when he's gone, although it may have a few new dents and scratches, curtesy of good ol' Stag. Consider yourself lucky you weren't in there when he found it."

"We think he's just an odd white-tailed deer feller, but we ain't entirely sure," one local said when being investigated for the disappearances of a group of rowdy tourists, who'd been known for disrespecting the nature they came into contact with. "But he usually doesn't bother us. If ya see him, give him a wave and walk off, and you'll be fine. Occasionally, he'll want a chat or two, but only you'll do all the talkin'."

If he and Lucille knew each other, she'd hate him. I will not elaborate.

Occupation : Doesn't really have one, and if he does, "We don't know it." A recluse/hermit, spends his days foraging and hunting and creeping out the locals and tourists for funsies!

Stag was an idea I had a while before Lucille (my alligator octo-oc), that I was embarrassed to create, but finally embraced my weirdness. He's based off of the cryptid of the "Not Deer" in the Appalachia forests --- an aggressive yet reclusive cryptid. Stag, unlike his mythological counterparts, is rather friendly and more on the odd ball side of the spectrum, although he still creeps people out.

He doesn't really follow the same line as other octo-oc's, who all help the environment in some way/would be a part of the Octonauts crew. He's just a goofy little guy who chills out in the Appalachian forests --- although, in a sense, he does kind of help the environment out by... removing the people who poison his backyard.

Originally, he had this kinda cocky 20 year old vibe, but I changed him to be more rugged and older. I really like him, even if he doesn't fit the octo-oc norms! He's just my weird little guy! <3

i miss the show and Jessica is definitely a comfort character of mine. and for those who are new, she’s Dashi’s daughter!

She’s very bright and explorative, always on the OctoPod or briefly on missions with her momma. She’s mainly close to Kwazii and Shellington!

First piece of art is a commission I got from the lovely @/paigeparty and the other 2 pieces are my art!

Ferris

Early to Mid 30’s, Cis, Gay, He/Him

Species: South American Grey Fox

Occupation: Octonaut, Therapist, Meteorologist. Aboard the octopod, he tracks the weather weeks in advance so the Octonauts know what to do in future situations. He also holds therapy sessions, for the crew (something they never know they needed considering how taxing this job is)

Personality: Ferris is generally very friendly and welcoming, he’s a social butterfly, he enjoys talking to everyone on the Octopod. Especially Captain Barnacles and Bibi He’s very passionate about his work and is ready to lend a helping hand at any chance he gets.

However, he has heavy imposter syndrome and can fall into fits of self doubt when he fails at something, and he has little patience under pressure and can snap a bit. But besides that he’s really good at controlling his temper, often smiling even when he’s angry. (Think Shinobu from Demon Slayer.)

Ferris is also very compassionate and patient when need be, as a kid he was always taken care of by his older brother (his parents couldn’t because their jobs kept them busy throughout the day.) And as a result, he wants to help others.

Bibi

Late 20’s early 30’s, Non-binary, Bisexual They/Them

Species: Gray Rabbit

Occupation: Octo-Agent, Bibi is a search and rescue specialist stationed in Alaska, they run a station near a bunch of mountains. They help rescue creatures after storms, mudslides, and avalanches.

Personality: Bibi is socially awkward, they like life in the mountains of it means being alone, they tend to self isolate which isn’t good for their mental health, but they don’t really mind it. They aren’t completely isolated from others though, as being an Octoagent meant having to occasionally call on the Octonauts for help, and Bibi really likes them. Especially Barnacles and Ferris.

If Bibi is comfortable enough, they’ll stand or sit closer to someone or even talk a bit with them, but they prefer to be quiet.

Bibi does love very deeply and expresses it through art and letters, they seem completely socially stale but that couldn’t be further from the truth. They’re very emotional but they keep it to themselves out of fear of being too much to deal with.

Opal

Late 30’s Cis, Lesbian, She/Her

Species: Ocelot

Occupation: Octo-Agent. Opal is Silviculturist for the rainforests of South America, she takes care of the upkeep of the area around her tree house station. She makes sure animals and plants are safe, dhe cleans up any mess left behind, protects it from deforestation. Etc.

Personality: Opal is extremely nurturing and gentle. She has loads of love to give, she’s not the most talkative out there but she’s always happy to listen and learn. She especially enjoys the company of Selva, who has been dear to her ever since they were young. (They may or may not be a thing :))

She’s always been quiet but kind as long as she can remember, she never wants anyone to feel alone. She also has a protective side as she never wants anyone to get hurt. She’s a cat of prey but she’s personally vegan. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, she’s especially fond of kids.
