Players will control a party including several characters each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. has announced that Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm will launch for Nintendo Switch in Fall 2020. It follows a young Knight sent out to explore Gaia and defend its people from the Dark Army of Warlock Mesmeroth. The second game in the series is building on the success of the first title, Oceanhorn: Monsters of Uncharted Seas, though oddly, Knights of the Lost Realm is the prequel to the first game. “It is a beautiful 3D open-world reimagining of its fantasy landscape, encouraging endless exploration, and nostalgic immersion for budding adventurers,” according to the development team. Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm first launched for Apple Arcade in September 2019, followed by Switch via the >Nintendo eShop in October 2020. Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm has a release date!  It’s going to be September 19th! 

... Exclusively for the Apple Arcade.  Which is subscription based.  Which sucks.  The original game was a blast to play, like someone found a lost Legend of Zelda game from the SNES/GBC era.  Hopefully this is going to be a timed exclusive like some are predicting, because I think that it’s something that everyone should have a chance at playing, not just those who pay for a subscription.

Zelda inspired Oceanhorn 2 is getting a big update this week

Cornfox's Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild inspired RPG, Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, is about to get a huge injection of content. You'll be able to check it out for yourself soon, too, as the Oceanhorn 2 Golden Edition release date is pencilled in for June 5, 2020.

The new Oceanhorn 2 update comes with two expansions. The first is called Shield of Chronos and involves pillaging a new dungeon for the titular shield. The second one is called the Criminal Hunt and focuses on hunting a rowdy mob of bandits in a series of side-quests. The ending is getting an overhaul, too, and will be extended with new cutscenes that shed more light on the fate of the game's heroes.

There are quality of life improvements, too. The Apple Arcade exclusive will support 60 fps on all high-end devices, and the menus have been reworked to make for a better player experience. Most Power Shards can be discovered more easily, as well. If you really want to get into the nuts and bolts of the Apple Arcade exclusive new update, Cornfox has also added a new physics-based water simulation for a more realistic experience - should help the game make a splash, we reckon.

Apple Arcade has officially released, and for $4.99 you can get instant access to a wide range of premium games, many of which potentially wouldn't have been released otherwise. Apple's boasted that their launch line-up is 100-games strong. With this many titles on offer, it can be difficult to get a good read on what is actually available.
