the thing that fascinates and terrifies me about this whole titanic submersible mess is how unbelievably stupid it is.

like, these people are going to or have died an absolutely horrifying death inside  a small metal tube, and all this could have been avoided by just not going there?

a small metal tube with no emergency beacon, no escape mechanisms, structure that is not even meant to go that deep. so stupid, so stupid and negligent.

waste of human life, waste of resources, and none of it in any way necessary. just so stupid i cannot wrap my head around it.
