uhhh i got quite a few so gonna give some that havent been drawn yet some attention as well as some faves

Lets start with Commander Gnash of the 793rd. not many people have the guts to punch their jedi general upon meeting them but hey its one hell of a first impression (one Fen finds hilarious, while he was mortified for the whole month). In his defence, he was injured and delirious. I care him so much. so so much. He keeps up to date on the regs manuel to find the latest loopholes, he's been caught sleeping standing straight up, and has 100% tackled a b2 without hesitation. He's trying to figure out basic sign in his off hours. I shake this man like a dog with a chew toy (which is how he got his scar)

Essie's commander, Cake of the 792nd, you'd think would be just a very well adjusted and dignified commander with a very cool flowing poncho, if not a little wary of his surroundings and a few more hidden knives than scrictly necessary but then you get to know him and oh he's actually super laid back n the knives are cause he'll throw them the second his blaster annoys him and half jokingly tries to convince Gnash to just ditch the regs all together cause their generals certainly won't mind. Wine enjoyer.

RADAR THE BELOVED the grooviest motherfucker in the whole 793rd, can have and will chill in the fireing range with his favourite playlist blasting. Got reccomended for ARC training when he got seperated from the battallion on a planet crawling with clankers n deadly and made it to evac point all on his own with the clanker factory

Node is one of the engineers, forklist certified, wound a little tight and a little finikity about his workspace but hey yknow he's reliable and a great mechanic thats oddly affectionate towards the ships he works on.

Thaw, CMO of the 792nd, has one hell of a resting bitch face to the point shineys can be a little wary of him. In reality he's one of the sweetest guy's around if you get to know him, though he's more subtle with affection n tends to like. make an extra mug of caf to give whoever hes "bumping into" (hes actualy looking for them to make sure theyre ok), he comes in to releive the nightshift of duty a little early, ke heeps stickers n sweets in his office.

Favorite thing about them

Oooh this one is hard... "Favorite" is a little too wide of a definition for this, so ill narrow it down to what hits the hardest for me, and that is most definitely, the "flawed mother" angle they were going for her.

Sona isnt perfect, as much as she wants to claim otherwise, she believes in ideologies that actively put Frisks friends in danger time and time again, and as shown, is even willing to act on them in the imperfect routes, but they still love and see the good in her, because thats what theyve grown up with their whole life, and for someone who has a mom in a pretty similar situation, that hit so fucking hard for me.

Sona... they could never make me hate you Sona...

Least favorite thing about them

I dont really understand the hair motif they were going for, it feels unnecessary, out of place, and compared to all the other powers she could have had in the concept art (Doll powers, omega form, ect) just feels... idk, boring to me? i just feel there was so much more potential for her.

Favorite line

"If you dont have determination, you have to fake it!" lives rent free in my mind. its the perfect way to show off one of her main ideologies, In Sonas mind, theres just simply no thing called weakness or imperfections, and anything that is lacking can be fixed right up like a doll, who cares if itll never be as genuine as the flawed and complex human being that they used to be?

Theres also the iconic "I only take the souls of children if they disobey me!" line, which i like for a lot less complex reasons. just, out of context funny lmao.

BrOTP

The possible relationships she can have with Dalv, and her relations to integrity are both very intriguing to me.

Like, for Dalv theres this whole thing with them that they are both flawed individuals who ran away from their problems in the past, but ended up with completely different outcomes (Dalv was ripped away from society, while Sona actively got herself involved in it) but also like?? for something fluffier, i like to imagine that Dalv is good with kids, and the idea of him running an orphanage with Sona is really cute to me.

And integrity... oughh, its seen both in the no romance endings and the perfect sans route of kc that Sona really cared for integrity (their ending having the most lore, only second to Justice because...well, uty reference, her giving them flowers in that one cg), So the idea of her in a uty scenario (cough cough kcy cough cough) finding out about what they did and their fate is a REALLY interesting angle to consider for me. so many thoughts, oh so many of them.

And then last but certainly not least, theres her and Chara which i feel like i dont talk about NEARLY enough but since this section is getting long, ill just end this off on that kc shouldve had more Sona and Chara interactions.

Theyre so interesting and mentally ill and evil i need to put them in a snowglobe and shake them as hard as i can. Like, you have two woman who were both wronged by the world in some capacity, and when proven wrong, are so tunnel visioned that they basically just beg for death. only that one is past that arc and has learned to grow, while the other, despite having the chance time and time again, hasnt. They're two sides of the same coin, they're two different outcomes of the same person they're they're they're-

Unpopular opinion

Im actually not that familiar with what the major idea around Sona is since i only really hang out in niche spaces, maybe i should hang around Andrews community more-

But since "Sona isnt just some random racist mom and her character goes so much deeper than that" isn't really a fun answer, im gonna say that i think we (and by we i mean like, the twelve people in the kissy cutie community) Really dont explore her Mexican origins enough. theres so many fun things you can do with it like the original game does-

Song i associate with them

The main two songs i associate with her are Suburbia by Will wood and the tape worms, and ruler of everything by tally hall.

Suburbia in particular feels like her trying to fit herself and eveyone into a "generic" standard, and the ar-15 part in particular feels like Chara speaking to her like "cultures not your friend" and "Culture is more afraid of you then you are of itself", making it a duet between the Siblings?? ouggh can you see the vision.

And ruler of everything... oh ruler of everything my beloved, everything about it fits Sona so well for me, especially the chorus?? Ayaygdgyduhhuh

oughh peoples weird takes have shifted from my girl to ur guy i see 😭😭 i am so normal about bad takes i promise

in the masses' defense!! i understand where a lot of grant takes come from. hes been a bad father, he has a lot of improvements he has to make, and i think its really cool that matt is doing a plot line rn where linc is cutting his dad off. thats awesome! like, genuinely, i love it. it hurts my feelings a lot as a Wilson Enjoyer(tm) but i think it makes so much sense story-wise and im really enjoying seeing where the plot is going with it!

however i just think its really fucking weird of some fans to imply that mentally ill people arent allowed to have kids or try to love other people when they dont love themselves! maybe im just projecting though </3 i like to think that most people are just wording their takes poorly, or that theyre being dramatic, and i can recognize that i can be really overly sensitive about characters with intrusive thoughts/low emotions. i project onto them too much! i get it! but like, i dunno

i relate a lot to grant and while i dont want kids, i do crave connection with people despite my more... asocial aspects lol. i only recently have gotten to a point where i let myself have community instead of isolating myself for my constant intrusive thoughts, low emotions, lack of empathy, etc. so it just kind of sucks to have this turn in the story that have people acting as if grant is the worst for thinking that maybe he could love a son and have a family. definitely similar vibes to sparrow where people are like "he only had a kid for daddy magic!", which is a take i dislike for ALL of the kiddads but that i can start to understand-- but then also just genuinely, there are people seeming to say "you shouldnt have kids if youre mentally ill" which... no? no. like. i recognize the idea that you shouldnt have kids if you cant even take care of youself, but all evidence points to that grant was capable of having a kid when linc was adopted. linc was socialized well as a young kid, he had friends his age, he visited his grandparents, etc. it was only later that grant's mental health took a downturn again and i think thats fair when everything going on with the doodler/code purple was going on. by no means is grant a good dad. but i think its really harsh and verging on ableism to imply that his mental health makes him incapable of being a dad at any point in his life.

but i dunno!! thats just my thoughts!! lol <3

based on my last post!

the character that made me think of that is rei from im in love with the villainess and while i dont think im caught up with the comic anymore i read a lot of it and even parts of the novel when i first got into it. for those who dont know this girl gets isekaied into a video game she loved where her fav character was the villainess and she now tries to woo her. when you start the series, you think of her as just a silly and outgoing character but the thing is, its all an act. thats what gets me. like yes she really goes love claire but shes a lesbian and the character she knew in the game had one crush on a guy- she knows she had no chance. and so shes obnoxious about her advances. she makes herself into a joke because she believes then itll hurt less when shes inevitably rejected and pushed away and when people once again find her to be gross and weird. but! she still has a friend who enjoys her company and while claire is thrown off by rei (understandably) she also doesnt actually hate her or genuinely tell her that shes gross. and so when someone else comes to steal claire and rei gets jealous, the other person confronts her about this. that shes not genuinely trying to win over claire. so yeah idk that just gets me, plus the way they talk about and handle queer themes is really good (though warning in the manga there is a part with incest from what i remember. its nothingg big but i wanna say in case someone needs to avoid that.)

and now. the character i mass rbed last night, my beloved Sasha Tartt from the antagonist's pet. she was also isekaied into one of these romantic fantasy stories but shes not one of the main characters or anything, just some random nobody that barely had a line mentioning her. so she decides to avoid them and live peacefully. and she figures out that even tho no one cares abt her cus shes that much of a nobody, she can still get sweets and good stuff by sucking up to these nobles by, quite sincerely, acting like a pet. shes cute and people like to feed her treats and give her pets but they also dont view her as equal to them. shes just selling herself. and the worst part is that because nobles are taught to supress their feelings and always be poised and dignified, they can never show their emotions nor do they know how to deal with them. and so, she allows people to take it out on her. telling her about their problems, yelling, and attacking her. she says she doesnt mind this because she still gets pets and sweets. but shes not a person to these people, no matter how much she compliments them and helps them with their issues. and theres also all the people who talk bad about her for doing this and having no pride. whats even worse is that she has this habit of bitting her thumb til it bleeds when shes nervous or worried. shes keeps thinking about her past life too so she wants to take advantage of everything good here but it comes at the cost of herself.

oughh i wanna reread it now... also i very much recommend this one but tbh i dont like how it ends and i can do a whole lil rant abt that too but ill save it for another time. i doibt anyones even gonna read this one
