Rose heard the knocking at the door from the kitchen; putting down the knife and quickly drying the juice from the tomato she had been cutting from her hands, she walked from the kitchen into the main hallway towards the door. Hazel hues peeked through the small peep hole and immediately her face lit up as she caught sight of Deeks standing outside. The door opened and Rose’s mouth opened with the intention of a warm greeting - but she was silenced before any words could leave her lips, Deeks’ own capturing hers in a deep and intensely passionate kiss. 

She suddenly froze, but only for a moment as her mind processed what was happening. She kissed him back though, arms looping around his neck and shoulders instinctively. For a moment, the doubt that this was real crept into her mind - was she dreaming again? Oh, God, what if she was? 

Rose broke away from the kiss, though remained inches from Deeks’ face, their noses and lips grazing one another’s, breaths tickling each other’s skin. Gaze flickering to her left hand - she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. Yes, she remembered taking it off - its removal being incredibly significant to this moment, as it meant that she had been ready to start moving on; truthfully, it would not have happened if it were anyone else but Deeks. 

She’s been wanting this, to kiss him, to confess her feelings. She had an inkling that he felt the same, but she couldn’t be sure. She pushed it away for a while now, waiting for what felt like the right moment for this to happen - but it didn’t ever quite feel right, not until she took off her wedding ring. That happened only three ago, but Rose hadn’t had the chance to see him within those three days. There was a split second before he kissed her where Rose had grown excited, finding this surprise visit to possibly be the opportunity she was looking for. Well, little did she know that Deeks seemed to have the exact same thing in his mind - also she couldn’t lie, she really liked his way of telling better. 

“Tell me I’m not dreaming,” the only way to know should be just to ask, right? “Tell me that just happened, that we just kissed and it’s not all in my head and I’m not going to wake up at any moment missing this.”

Name: Emma Sasha James Gender: Female General Appearance: Dark brown hair, a mix of her father’s tanned skin and her mother’s fair skin. Dark eyes like Deeks, her mother’s cheek and jawline structure, her father’s nose and eye shape. She’s taller than Rose but not quite Deeks’ height.  Personality: Intelligent, clever, witty, sarcastic, empathetic but can be cold-hearted depending on the situation. She’s very studious and book smart, she would prefer to study on a Saturday night than go out to party or whatever.  Special Talents: Shockingly, Emma did not seem to inherit Deeks’ werewolf curse - at least, not completely. She cannot shapeshift as far as she or her family is aware (perhaps it just hasn’t happened yet, perhaps it never will), however she does have very keen senses of hearing and smell. She’s also naturally athletic and agile, though she’s not actively interested in athletic activities. She does have her father and paternal family’s keen instincts to detect lies and suspicious behaviors.  Who They Like Better: Rose, she’s very protective of her mother (because-) Who They Take After More: Deeks.  Personal Headcanon: Between Deeks and Rose, including Emma, there are four children in the household (all girls, too) and there’s not one who is more loved than the others. But it can’t really be denied that her parents, a little more so Rose, holds Emma more close than the other girls. It’s natural for the James family to be protective of their loved ones - they always have been, as has Rose - but given the couple’s history with the miscarriage of their first child, Emma is looked at to be a little. When Deeks and Rose reconciled, the idea of having more children was not a conversation that was talked about for a long time - hell, talking about the first child they lost together was an off-limits subject for a while. It didn’t just hurt Rose that she lost a child, it killed her to realize that she didn’t even know that she was pregnant at the time and therefore carried guilt over being unable to ‘be more careful’ in her words. Unlike the first pregnancy, once Deeks and Rose did have that conversation, they began to try for their little one. It took a while, with Rose almost giving up - thinking that the miscarriage had done something to her body to make her infertile - but the moment they had been hoping for finally came and almost nine months later, Deeks and Rose welcomed little Emma into their family. To Rose, there was a moment where it felt like she was a new mother again, a bit of panic struck her for a short while after Emma was born - the fear of losing this precious child gnawing hard at her mind. But she had Deeks to help calm those fears, and just as much he had Rose as well.  Face Claim: Maia Mitchell

This...this was all too familiar - hauntingly familiar.

Two men - one she recognized - standing at her door, solemn and sorrowful expressions hardened on their faces. Rose’s heart dropped, no words needed to be spoken for the tears to start falling. She knew that something had terrible had happened, but even though she’s been through this before she couldn’t have prepared for what Mitch - Deeks’ cousin - had to tell her. 

“No...No - no, no!”

Head fell in her hands, knees buckling. She fell against Mitch, the man not hesitating to catch her as she collapsed. 

It happened again...Why? Why did this have to happen? Her heart had finally begun to heal, she was learning to accept and move on - she did move on. She fell in love again, with Deeks, and she was okay. Now she lost him too? And strangely, this heartache was worse. The idea - the reality - of Deeks dying...it was so much more painful. God, she loved him so much, her GIRLS came to love him...And now he was just....Just...

Just GONE?
