Princess Liv Delivers 80s Synth-Pop Bliss with 'On The Line' Listen to Princess Liv's new melody “On The Line,” which in my opinion is a magnificent synth-pop piece. This LA singer-songwriter has done more than anyone before to distill that vintage 80s feeling but keeping things a bit more current and up to date. The track starts with those slightly trippier yet really catchy synths, and it just wraps you up. Liv's waves carry the song in the right direction. The words are devoted to the recollection of a former loved one and a past love. The refrain is impossibly catchy and at the same time so memorable with lines such as "You know I've been trying to call you baby / Will you at least pick up the phone?" It completely stays in your head for days. What really stands out for me is the way they have used the retro sounds with the creative modern textures as well as the quirky synths. This is all primed to a fade out at the end that has you craving more. There is a memory with an enduring and also an energetic vibe - a perfect fit for the summer song materials. It is like Princess Liv can easily compose these catchy melodies that will get stuck in your head even though they still convey those universal thoughts and issues. And now we come to the first fic that someone put in a request for, specifically.

Marines are trained to handle anything...but the training never accounted for being stranded, alone, on a world without even the rudiments of post-Industrial era tech, and no way home. Join a human soldier as he encounters a species unlike any the human race as encountered before. Wow, there's no good way to write a synopsis for this without spoiler soup being served up. I do have the entire outline of this one plotted out and approved by the original requester and I'm intending to get back to it one of these days. It was my first attempt at writing a "Human in Equestria" fic and my first real "Humans are Space Orcs" work. I started writing it right as I came off of reading book 6 of The Confederation of Valor series, and you can tell from some of the plot devices and set dressing I've used just in this one chapter.

At the moment, my hyperfixation on a trans MC in a 90% original fanfic given the green-light by the original creator of its franchise with the understanding the book will probably never be canon is occupying, like, 99% of my attention, but presuming my plans to shift to being a full-time author supported by my fans via Patreon pans out, I should be able to quit my day job and just focus on projects like this one.

I’ve been a fan of Jenny for more than half my life. I’ve listened to her since Rilo Kiley through her solo work, with The Watson Twins, Jenny & Johnny, The Postal Service, NAF, and any collaborations or features in between.

I have been fortunate enough to see her live (as in her solo concerts, Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service, NAF, Jenny & Johnny) on multiple occasions and even a couple run ins at other artists concerts (She & Him & one at Amoeba Hollywood).

She has been such a constant in the music side of my life and I’m such a fan of hers!

I’m so grateful to have been able to chat (about LA and others), get my poster signed, as well as get a picture with her after her show at The Echo.

Also thanks to the person packing her gear up that gave me her pick with Bobby Rhubarb on it!
