Intro

Judar is my fave Magi chara, and JuAli is my fave Magi ship, so I REALLY wanna create plushie designs of them one day, as well as a Tegaki fan-animatic MV... It's my dream 🙏

My unhinged gremlin black cat son who's Black Sun, Moon, and Eclipse themed! 🐈‍⬛☀️🖤🌙

1st Judar doodle is a planned concept art reference sheet I wanna do for my headcanon design of him wearing black and red hanfu 💞

2nd Judar doodle is based on a Vocaloid song parody with JuAli (Judar/Alibaba) x Unfriendly Hater by Meddmia (drawn by WOOMA) 🖤❤️💛

In my HCs, Judar wears a type of hanfu called Ruqun (襦裙). Ru (襦) is the cross-collared top of a hanfu, and the wrap-around skirt is called Qun (裙). The coat jacket is called Da Xiu Shan (大袖衫)

He'd look great wearing black and red hanfu with white and gold accents~ The black outer coat jacket is slightly translucent, so it'll show the cross collared top's red sleeves through it.

I drew some tentative rain drop earrings for now, but I imagine he would wear gold and red hanfu earrings, and/or snowflake/icicle ones (since Judar is an ice magic user) ❄️

I've been forgetting to post my doodles from my side account onto main, so here you go. I missed talking about my son and drawing him.

I think my art style is getting more refined 🥰💖 The way I draw faces/eyes has been improving steadily! The first Judar doodle was the first time I experimented with an eye style with thicker eyelashes and underlashes! I love the new eye style a lot, so I've comfortably settled into it for the rest of my arts.

I want to draw him in different styles of huafu too, but I made the main hanfu he wears in my HC version, simple to draw (black coat jacket, red cross collared top, black wrap around skirt) with simple patterns, just for my own sake.

I'm obsessed with Meow meow mf charas. Black and white colour scheme and design aesthetics. Black and/or white hair. Black Sun & Moon themed. Sharp tsurime eyes. Eyeshadow. Causes problems on purpose. C*nty Sen-core bastard cat. Smug chaotic edgy evil asshole character. Violent, unhinged, bloodthirsty and murderous. Arrogant with a huge ego that distances them from humanity (or social interactions).

The fact that my evil unhinged meow meow pipeline has led me from Kuroha (2013) to Judar (2022) is really not surprising at all.

It's so funny rereading my messages from 2022 when I first read Magi and guessed that he'd be my fave after seeing his 1st CAMEO appearance 😭😂 It's like watching my downfall in real time /lh

My friends mainly associate me with my meow meow mf faves like Douman, Xanxus, Judar, Idate, Kuroha, and Hibari. To be known for them is an honour ✨ It makes me very happy (❁´◡`❁)

Judar's a fun chara and a perfect squishable gremlin it's natural I'm devoted to him. I love my son

Headcanon Design

Judar wears hanfu and hanfu earrings in my headcanon design.

I imagined that he would wear gold and red hanfu earrings, and also snowflake/icicle ones! Silver snowflake ones, and glass icicle earrings would be cool...

So I think I may wanna put snowflake/ice and dragon patterns on his hanfu. The silhouette of a Chinese dragon (ice dragon) would be rad 🐉

I want Alibaba to wear traditional Arabic clothes (white and yellow). I've been looking into it for now, but I wanna draw it soon... I also HC Alibaba to have tanner skin in my HC design

Ohtaka is really good at harmonizing colour palettes (seen with the volume covers). I loooove using teal/cool tinted black when colouring my meow meow mf faves, so this is a treat hehe

Since Judar is from the Kou Empire, which is based on China, I wanted to project Judar's ethnicity onto his design more (since many friends who I've spoken to from my other interests didn't know he was even CN inspired until I told them)

I always take aspects I like from canon and imbue it with my own tastes! I base my drawings on my own headcanons/interpretations of my faves.

Magi is in my top favourite series ever in terms of art and writing. It's generally peak imo

Magi's biggest flaws are the whitewashing, colourism and racial stereotyping (ex. racially stereotyped clothing in the character designs) and some parts of the setting being bastardized takes on SWANA and South Asian cultures, and I've always been critical of that.

Of course, it's totally normal for cultures to do cultural exchanges with each other, but that's not what's going on here.

A lot of EA media feeds into insensitive/distasteful racial stereotypes on non EA cultures, we don't need more of it being perpetuated in fandom spaces. I personally won't be drawing certain Magi charas in their canon clothing designs.

Ohtaka's drawn him (Judar) in hanfu before, it should've been his canon clothes instead.

I love his hair design with the braids sm. I draw him in huafu in my HC design instead as a fix-it for the obvious colourism going on in Magi's chara designs, and also, the charas' clothing designs and parts of the settings too, being bastardized and racially stereotyped takes on SWANA and South Asian cultures.

WIP Shots (Art Process)

I drew these, which I like, but I liked the original best (up top). A few of them have slightly more curled hair strands! I think 1st and 2nd are the best in capturing the vibes, but the others are also interesting to see. I might incorporate some aspects from them when I refine this doodle

Admittedly I'm MUCH better at drawing meow meow mfs, so I haven't gotten the chance to draw Alibaba yet.

I find Judar's spiky hair hard to draw so I'm still trying to decide how I want to draw it...

I love how Ohtaka draws the shape of his braids. I didn't get the time to refine the sketch yet so I just blocked in the shape of his braids roughly with a silhouette (so I'll go fix it later)

I think when I actually get to colouring, though, I'm gonna desaturate the teal tinted black colour slightly

On the 1st sketch pass, I just care about making the face and eyes look good (since it's usually the main focus of my pieces)

Then I just scribble whatever for the clothes.

And then when I go back to clean up the sketch, then I fix everything else, including the clothes

I was rereading the Judar vs. Aladdin fight in the Kou Empire arc and I love how dynamic Ohtaka's art is. I'm in love with the compositions

Judar's ice dragons and the the last page with Judar being themed with the moon!!! That's so cool. My son is so cool and iconic

I reread the Kou Empire arc so many times cuz it's SO good art/writing wise and just in general like WHDSHDHSH

But this is why I want Judar's hanfu to have snow/ice and ice dragons on it. I'll make it an easy pattern/silhouette and use a stamp brush probably cuz uh I don't want to have to draw that by hand every time

Ohtaka is one of my main art inspirations of what I wanna draw like someday in terms of technical skill. Her inking is godly.

Ohtaka is BRILLIANT with inking, dynamic battle compositions, perspectives, and colours... Her art is soooo good, it's such visual eye candy.

Ohtaka is brilliant with complex dynamic perspectives and inking. She draws GREAT expressions. Her colours harmonize really well. She's a brilliant author/story writer.

Her inking style is so unique. And it fits thematically too with how Magi is mainly in black and white (black and white rukh)

Since Magi was loosely based on 1001 Nights for the charas' names and parts of the setting, the roc/rukh is a giant legendary bird.

It's apparently a reference to Rukh/Rok (A mythological bird) and Rūḥ ("Essence/Soul")

Misc Rambles

These are my top fave meow meow mf faves.

My top main faves are all very important and personal to me, just in different ways. So I tie them all as no. 1 ✨

Irt Judar and Kuroha/Saeru, they're completely different characters personality wise, since Judar is mischievous, bratty and playful, childlike and emotionally immature (due to his personality and context), but they have similar~ish designs and a couple similarities, in terms of their basics.

As in, they're both evil black haired meow meow mfs with similar expression ranges, who are bloodthirsty, sadistic, and love causing violence for fun. They have the same Sen-core character type.

They have similar~ish hairstyles (black hair with braids in the back, unique eyes (Kuroha's snake eye pupils and the rings in Judar's eyes), and are unhinged bloodthirsty meow meow mf core charas

My History

(Magi: Ch. 15 - Judar's 1st Cameo Appearance)

Ok I don't think I ever told in full my origin story with this chara, I guess. Basically I was going off the mutuals/blorbo osmosis and just my friends' rambles at this point before I read the series.

And I was reading back my messages of what I sent to my friends at the time

I first read Magi, I think around Sept 2022, two chapters, then started again in Oct 2022 read to Ch. 15 saw Judar and was like. (.) 🧍 This design is Sen core. Don't let me go down like this.

When I first saw Judar’s CAMEO in Ch. 15... I had a feeling.

Cuz I sensed Sen core meow meow mf.

I felt my doom. I knew it... I sensed it with my instincts 😭

WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS PANEL OF JUDAR, I WAS LIKE OH NO... I SENSED MY DOWNFALL.

And then I was like, "Well I made my bed, so time to go lie in it 👍"

Since I saw the charas from my friends' tweets before, can you believe that at this point I was like "Wow I wonder how my would be ship interact together. They're on the same page!!!" 🤸

Douman took 5 days for me to be obsessed with after I found out about his character/writing.

Judar just took me seeing his 1st cameo appearance in the manga.

Kuroha/Saeru took just seeing the Outer Science MV when I was 12 (Tbf, Outer Science is peak KagePro and is one of the best KagePro MVs in terms of visuals and storytelling)

Judar is extremely important and personal to me, I feel this as someone who comes from a similar cultural background to him as well, Judar is EA/CN inspired and so his background and backstory context really makes me feel for him… Speaking personally, as someone who is Viet/SEA diaspora.

Considering Judar's backstory context, and his character arc themes of resentment and grief… Wahhhh ;__; I can mildly relate to him.

Like, ahhh, this character makes me so emotional… He makes me want to cry (in a good way). Emotional tears, cuz this chara is so healing and cathartic for me. I'll punch him out of love! 🫶

where did you learn anatomy?

i used to watch a lot of proko and sycra videos (on youtube), and also do gesture/figure drawings from photo references and k-pop dance practice videos.

when / why did you start drawing?

i started taking it seriously when i was 15. seeing lesbian fanart was what caused my gay awakening and i felt like there wasn't enough of it, so i decided to get better.

do you do traditional art?

i kind of dislike it, actually. i have filled over 1000 A4 sheets and 7 sketchbooks over the years, but it's all quick doodles to practise or warm up. when i bought a tablet i could carry around i stopped drawing traditionally as often, but i still find myself drawing in my sketchbook from time to time when i want to sketch midlessly or get better at something.

do you draw nsfw art?

very rarely, but i only show it to my friends. i do consume a lot of nsfw content tho, just not in public 👍

how do you keep yourself motivated?

a combination of drawing only what i like and a strong desire of seeing more lesbian art. that's why i mostly make fanart and almost never participate in art trades or make art gifts. i also don't want to make a career out of drawing.

i have a college degree in graphic design, but it has almost no correlation with the kind of art i share online. before that i never studied art academically.

2023 Art Summary

Some of the many things I worked on over the past 365 days. More details below.

Happy New Year!

Just like last year, 2023 was full of even more character art, including a brand spanking new OC. You haven't seen much of the comic yet, because it's not done, but there's been progress on that in the background as well. I also started commissions last March. None are featured in this post so I could focus more on original art, but I wanted to give a special thank-you to all my past commissioners. Not a single one of you were a customer service nightmare, in fact it was quite the opposite. I appreciate everyone who's been kind enough to give me work and treat me well.

The rest of this post is going to be some of my favorite pieces by month, and a little about them. I usually spare my followers from most details in my posts, because there's often not much of interest to the public to say, so this is mostly self indulgent.

January

I decided to revisit Tom and Maudlin, as I hadn't drawn them much since creating them. Whenever I make a new character of importance, I try to go out of my way to put them in varied poses and expressions so that I am able to understand how their bodies work by the time I need them for a real project. It's also a great way to explore their personalities, although I feel that I'll have to push Tom's emotional side more in the future.

February

Props for the comic! It sucks to have to design things on the fly, so it helps to have notable objects designed beforehand. Especially if it's important to the plot. Some of these appear in more panels than others, but it smooths out the comic process nevertheless to have ample references on hand.

March

More character designs to spare me from designing mid-comic production. If they don't have lines in the comic, then I ask random people to assign names to them to make it fun, and because it's easier to keep straight who's who when they're not named Man 1 and Man 2. Left to right, they are Johnifer (you can already see why I name the ones with dialogue myself), Wanda, Jean Vincent, Booker, Charles, Maribelle, and Gertrude.

April

It'd be silly of me to pretend as if 90% of my output isn't shitposts. When you dedicate most of your art time to a project, then you're not going to end up making any other art unless you satisfy primitive monkey brain somehow. In my case, that's usually addressed by drawing funny shit. Early this year is when I discovered how easy it is to crack jokes with Scatterbrain. This goofiness is now embedded into her personality permanently. Expect more of this.

May

April-June is when I do my Art Fight preppin', which usually consists of me making a list of my most neglected OCs and giving them some attention. I also try to get around to eventually making all of them a reference sheet in this style, just so they have something standardized between them. This year, Walla Walla had her turn. She's a shitpost character, so I won't be drawing her much again, but she's a good excuse to draw some J-fashion doodles. My interests outside of cartoon stupidity don't really make it into my art often, so she's a minor outlet for some of it.

June

I've made even more character designs this year than last year, but they were all background characters, making Raoul the only new important one. He's been officially-unofficially written into the story since 2022, but it's very hard for me to make OCs that are written before they are designed. Everyone else was designed first and assigned a role in the plot later, so he got put off for a good while. I finally got around to it though, after I killed some darlings. He is now an all-new species, and I modified the chain design to something less clunky compared to what would be historically accurate.

July

July is, of course, Art Fight month. All other art is put on pause. This year, my favorite attack was a drawing of Enchanted Bones for my friend Bugles. I drew the character independently from the background, which is why the lighting situation is as unfortunate as it is, but we don't talk about that. Thank you to everyone who attacked me and made awesome art, I'll revenge you maybe in a few years. Sorry for the wait, but the backlog is mighty long.

August

Stanson got a slight redesign in the last year, so he can fit with the style of the comic better. He's actually the oldest character out of the bunch. I had no purpose for Scott when I made him and threw them together in the same folder. I had a few one-off designs that I figured I'd keep around in case I ever did an OCT, but these two got yoinked out of it when I started getting story ideas for the them. Stanson is a cowboy (not really), so it became a western setting to make sense of it. I plan on giving him the same sketchpage treatment the other characters have gotten, but I've been putting it off purposely for a while. You'll just have to wait.

September

And there it is, the inevitable page of Raoul getting into various mischief (and subsequently getting his ass beat half of the time). He has a very abrasive personality that gets him into trouble. I don't want the comic to be heavily action-based, but he naturally lands himself in these positions and it lets me draw characters in new situations. His introduction to the story is still a long way off at this point, but I can't wait to pit him against Scott in some slapstick shenanigans.

October

Spooky month is incredibly busy for me in real life, so there isn't as much time for art as I'd like there to be. That's why I dedicated all my time that month to trying to get Halloween art done in time. I've been a fan of Homestar Runner since childhood, and as soon as I thought that Raoul would pull off a Jigen Daisuke look, I knew I wanted to do a full Homestar-esque set of costumes. The other ideas quickly fell into place. My version came out way more detailed than theirs usually are though. The spirit of Halloween possessed me.

November

I started going full gear on the comic around this time (I think 28 hours in one week when I stayed home), so there's an absence of polished personal art here. Scatterbrain eating some spaghetti is my placeholder art for "I worked on a website a bunch instead". It's far from done, but I've made major strides since then.

December

A secret santa gift for my friend, Toby! I continued doing mostly comic work, but I also made room for a secret santa and scheduled a bunch of art trades to complete between December and March. The rest still have to be completed, so you'll see that throughout 2024. Anyway, Toby's OC, Thomas, is based on the state of Michigan. I plastered him on a postcard in front of a highway sign with some Robins because they're the state bird.

There were many more drawings of course, and you can find them scrolling through my Tumblr, or on my DeviantART (I switched to Tumblr as my main site in late August). I hope the new year brings many improvements and happiness for everyone. Last year my goal was simply to start on the comic, which I did, but it was also to get it uploadable, which I didn't. I'm gonna have to aim for the same goal again. Life things were largely fine but still tumultuous enough to throw me off-course, but now my most dangerous family member has moved out and it should be somewhat safer to live here. Not 100% safe though. It never will be. I generally avoid talking about the comic extensively as I won't have a solid release date for some time, so this is the last you'll hear of it for now outside of the rare WIP screenshot. Wish me luck and have a wonderful new year!

haunt me is my monstrosity of a stranger things wip, sitting around 90k and MAYBE 65% complete. if i'm lucky. it's fucking Long. the basic premise is that eddie dies and then steve starts dreaming about him and eventually comes to realize he is NOT dead, but in fact alive in the upside down and somehow psychically linked to steve... i won't get too deep into spoilers but it's kind of a kas!eddie fic but with a twist that's it's less kas and more similar to the pacific rim fic designations congruent with things (<= sentences that mean anything only to the most Niche Possible Audience). anyway the more complicated premise is steve's savior complex and how every single issue in his life connects back to it

show me how you do that trick is the sequel to my hellcheer fic, push the limit! (which. is fucking crazyy to me that that's the only stranger things fic actually posted on my ao3 given how much time i've spent working on haunt me 😭😭) anyway. it's as horny as the first in the series but with more feelings and plot. it's from eddie's pov and includes some actual proper kink negotiation and apologies following the insanity of the og fic, and also some RLY CUTE FLIRTING!!! a snippet for thee:

“I don’t like… weird dirty talk?” Chrissy says, wrinkling her nose. “Like, the stuff they say in bad pornos.” Eddie sighs in feigned exasperation. “God, it’s like pulling teeth here. Specifics, woman, I need specifics!”  “I don’t know! Like,” Chrissy opens her mouth, then closes it again, flushing brilliantly. “No. I’m sorry, I can’t, I can’t say any of it. I just—I don’t like the word ‘pussy,’ or ‘cunt,’ or anything like that, just—” She flaps her hands in the direction of her crotch—”Just don’t directly refer to it while we’re in the act? Like, if you’re having sex, it should speak for itself!”  Eddie grins at her.  “What?” she demands, all frustrated but laughing with her eyes.  “I love that you have porn opinions,” he says fondly. “You asked!”

for dealer's choice... oooh this is tough... but i think i'll go with 5 + 1, the full title of which will one day be "5 times steve tried to teach eddie how to swim and one time it worked" or something of the like. this fic was born out of me a) wanting to write something with intense hot-summer-day energy, b) being really interested in water/swimming as the focal point of Multiple Traumatic Incidents in steve's life as of s4, and c) can you fucking imagine if part of the reason eddie was last to jump from the boat in lover's lake was that he couldn't swim. and then he DID IT ANYWAY. but yeah second snippet:

Eddie is, in fact, wearing boxer briefs, and nothing else. Seeing so much of his skin never gets less startling, no matter how many times Steve’s splashed around with him in the lake. He always forgets that Eddie’s shoulders aren’t as broad as the vest normally makes them look. He’s pale as a goddamn sheet, too, except for the pink-red scars that pockmark his stomach and chest.  Eddie catches him looking. “Might not even be worth it to teach me to swim,” he says wryly. “Don’t think I can ever set foot at a public pool again with these bad boys.” “We could just go together,” says Steve. “Then we’d match.”  His own wounds have healed up better than Eddie’s. The demobats tore him up pretty good, but the bites were shallow; as months passed by, they’ve smoothed over into pale, warped ripples of scar tissue. Without thinking about it, Steve touches one close to his hip. As if in a mirror, Eddie does the same, his fingertips brushing over his stomach.  His boxers have little skulls on them.

in short i have a lot to do (thankfully only one(of which is school related, it's just a math assignment that i wasn't able to finish today, or technically two as i have to create a list of things i need to do literally or just mentally for the school councilor as i've been talking to her to a little bit and trying to get all of my uhm. horrid issues out there) and for the most part it's just art. i have around 19 Inktober prompts that i'd like to finish before October ends as well as a Kaveh drawing i want to finish in time for next Wet Kaveh Wednesday as well as a few other drawings i started and haven't gotten around to finish

now ontop of this i have video games to play, login bonuses to collect and dailys to complete as well as my Halloween costume (feel free to ask if you want) and then i might just redo my theme and see about posting more content and being more active

i might also try to remake my discords server icon and perhaps change the name so if you have any suggestions on either what the icon should be or server name ideas please lmk!

hopefully i'll be able to get back around to posting contact regularly and maybe posting more edits on tiktok (i'm not entirely sure as i have an irl friend who follows me on tiktok and i'm not too sure if she'll care but i want to talk to her about that first)

i've also been meaning to do a reference sheet for s/i's character design, as well as a few other projects.

now, most importantly, i'd like to start marking today as an anniversary of sorts? as my following grows and i get better at making content as well as posting consistently i want to celebrate my growth every year on October 19

i'm fully aware that i still have a few years to get my life sorted out and all but i genuinely think that content creation is what i want to do. it's always been fun for me to simply create things and share that with others as well as just chatting about whatever, even if i'm really socially awkward i love being a part of these communities and i like to think that i'm starting my own by making things, sharing those things and talking with my friends and mutuals about it.

i'm not really sure if i'm going to make it very far but i'm willing to try my best and see how much progress i make in art, writing, editing, singing, dancing and cosplaying. so, sorry for getting kinda sentimental there but thank you guys for staying with me and helping me along the way!

Talking about students, today was my first day at a new school + back to f2f classes, I introduced myself and whatnot (my name’s isabella), then in one of my slides there was a picture of luisa from encanto, and my student just blurted out “teacher you’re perfect just like Isabela” I died on the spot. I know amomk Joon feels like this every time a student compliments him 🥺

Aww, hi Isabella! Congrats on your first day!! Hoping you felt safe and supported as well as welcomed warmly! You have such an important job -- celebrating you! What a sweet story, especially how it fostered a connection with your student! 🥺 Those moments have to be so spectacular for you as an educator!

Namjoon: OK, everybody! Before we have our first round of tests, I want to do a fun little tradition that I learned about when I was in high school.

Student 1: So, like, was your class all dinosaurs and cavemen?

Class laughs.

Namjoon: (too excited to care) They're called Warm Fuzzies.

His class already starts mocking him.

He picks up a box of some art supplies that he got from Mrs. Kim: stacks of small rectangular pieces of paper with a hole punched at one of the short sides. The stacks are grouped by color, and they're paperclipped together.

Namjoon: (starts passing out materials) Everyone take one stack of colored paper---

Student 2: I want red!

Student 3: I want blue!

Namjoon: (trading out for their preferred colors) ---and refer to the attendance sheets that I'm handing out, too. On each slip of paper, write each of your classmates' names, one slip of paper per classmate. On the other side of the slip of paper, write a small, nice note. Something you like about the person. Or something you want to say thank you to that person for. Something that will make that person feel warm and fuzzy. But don't write your name anywhere. It's meant to stay anonymous. (grins) When you're done...

Namjoon points to a table he has set up at the front of the room.

Namjoon: Walk around this table and place your notes in each person's designated stack. Keep their names facing up. I'll spend the rest of the period tying some ribbon in the holes, and then you'll all leave class with a stack of your own Warm Fuzzies.

Student 4: Uhhhh, MISTER KIM!

Namjoon: Yes?

Student 4: What is this for??

Class laughs.

Namjoon: Well, when you get stressed out, like during your tests, or if you need a pick-me-up, just when you're feeling blue, go back to your stack and read these nice notes. Hopefully you'll have a chance to smile!

Students exchange quizzical and sarcastic looks with one another. But the rest of the period runs smoothly, and students even follow his directions.

Toward the end of the period, Namjoon gets up to arrange the now multicolored stacks and start passing them out. Some students even get up to help him tie the stacks together with ribbon, without being asked.

And then one student walks up to his desk.

Namjoon: Extras?

Student 3: No. These are yours.

Namjoon looks down and sees that the class has written some for him, too. He flips through some of them.

I like that we have a smart teacher for once.

You and Mr. Min are pretty funny.

My mom thinks you're hot.

Namjoon chuckles.

You're kind of weird, but in a cool way.

You're a very nice man.

You remind me of my favorite uncle, and I don't get to see him much, so that's nice.

Thank you for being a good teacher.

Namjoon starts to tear up.

Student 4: Look! He's gonna cry!

The class laughs, but then they start clapping, and Namjoon laughs along with them.

Roman likes to watch Tyler drawing. When Tyler's focused, his tongue peeks out from between his lips, and the slightest hint of a crease shows between his eyebrows. The way his pencil scratches over paper, the way he tilts his head to look at his artwork. The fact that he still draws on paper instead of digitally. It's all very charming to Roman, who can draw stick figures and lumpy trees, and that's the extent of his artistic skills.

When Tyler doesn't like a design, he crumples up the paper and tosses it into the wastebasket. Sometimes, if Roman goes to bed later than Tyler, he'll fish the crumpled pieces out and look at the various doodles. Occasionally he finds one that he likes, and he keeps them.

Seffy unearths them one day from Roman's glove compartment when he's driving her to taekwondo class. "What are all these? Did you draw them, Daddy?"

"No, I found them." He glances at his daughter. "What do you think of them?"

"Hmm." Seffy flips through the sheets. "They're not bad."

"Oh really, Miss Art Critic?"

"Yeah," says Seffy blithely. "Can I redraw them pleeeeeeeeaaase? I bet I can make them prettier."

Roman grins. "I'll lend them to you, but you have to draw on your own paper, ok?"

"I'm not using paper, Daddy, I'm gonna use the tablet Tyler gave me."

"Even better."

It's about three weeks after that when Seffy comes by to stay for the weekend, and she passes her tablet to Tyler in his office. Shyly, she says, "Look. Do you like these?"

These refer to dozens of drawings, all of which Tyler recognizes. He scrolls through the artwork, and then kisses Seffy's cheek. "I love them! They're so colorful. Can you get your daddy to email them to me?"

"Sure thing!"

"That's my brilliant girl. Do me a favor, go find Leva and Ember, ask them to get me the cake with the cream frosting that I like, and also pick up my outfit from Ernesto, the one for the premiere of... What premiere are we going to next Thursday?" he asks Roman.

"John Wick 5." Roman grins lopsidedly. He's buzzing with anticipation for that.

"Mm. Keanu." Tyler gets a dreamy look in his eyes for two seconds, and then beams at Seffy. "Go on, Seffy. I've got something to say to your dad."

Seffy rolls her big eyes in the exact way Tyler does when he's being especially bratty. "You know, you can just say you wanna smooch him and want me out of the room."

Roman flushes. "Seffy-"

"Yes, I wanna smooch your dad in a very child-inappropriate way. Go on, give us some privacy." Tyler shoos the laughing girl out of the office.

When the door is closed, Tyler turns his gaze to his boyfriend. "So how did Seffy get hold of my drawings?"

Roman feels embarrassed. "I, uh... I picked them out of your wastebasket."

"Why?"

"Because it's your hard work. And... I mean, you're not turning them into a collection to be sold, so I figured it'll be nice to have them." Roman scratches the side of his neck. "Did I... did I do something wrong?"

"No, it was sweet," Tyler says, and loops his arms around Roman's neck before kissing him. "But don't take them again. Some of the drawings I toss are in my collections, and I don't want those out there before I show them."

Sighing with relief, Roman kisses Tyler back. "Okay. But you gotta draw something for me, okay?"

"I'll draw you," says Tyler, before leering at him and adding, "like one of my French girls."

"What do you mean- Oh." Roman chuckles and squeezes his boyfriend. "No. No way."

"Mm. I already know every inch of you, Ro-Ro. You're getting a tasteful artistic rendition of your ass whether you like it or not."

I'm getting nervous each step I near their classroom...

I stopped in front of the door to their classroom. I can hear their voices faintly in the background. They seem to be in the middle of classes with sir. Is it really okay to just stop the lecture...? Nah this is just me wanting to hand out the papers to sir when he gets out.

Okay, Ali. Just knock, open the door, excuse yourself and hand out the papers. Easy. It's also good that sir is in the middle of lecturing because if that's so, he wouldn't have time to chit chat and would probably just tell me to put the papers on the desk. Yes, that's right. Okay. Don't worry now. Here goes nothing...

I knocked the door thrice, I observed immediately how everyone had gone quiet, and I opened the door, peering myself in.

"Um sir? Here are the papers you asked for yesterday." I showed to him the 5 sheets of paper I have on my hand.

"Ah Ali! Thank you, you can put the papers on the table please."

I opened the door fully and head straight to the table. I didn't know what would make me uncomfortable more, the unexpected utter quietness I was receiving from the class right now or the loud bunch of teasing.

Before I could step outside, sir calls out to me once again.

"By the way, Ali, are you feeling better now? Lia said you weren't feeling so good yesterday."

"Ah I'm fine now sir. Lia gave me medicine yesterday and I took a day off in the afternoon to get some rest."

"Oh that's good to hear! Do you think you're available later then? After your classes I mean."

"...I think so." I don't like where this is going.

"That's great then, do you mind if you could tour around one my students in the campus then? He's a transfer student here so he might need a guide to familiarize around the place."

I KNEW IT WASN'T GOING TO BE GOOD.

He pointed at someone in the class with a smile. I tried my best a while ago not to look at anyone in the class but now that sir was pointing, it should mean I had to and so I did.

I looked at where he was pointing at, and it was a guy with equally dark hair and eyes who were looking directly at me. I felt my heart skipped a beat from that little eye contact we had before he broke it up immediately and looked up to sir instead.

"That's Warren, he's what I was referring to. So, is it okay? I can't ask any of my students because after classes, they have to tend to the garden for a clean up."

"Wait we do??"

"Ah no! I had plans today!"

"Sirrrr whyyy ahh"

"Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that to all of you." The class whines more and sir directs his attention to me again. "So, is it okay?"

No it's not sir, definitely not.... *sigh* it's not like I have a choice.

"Yes sir, so after classes? When will it be after classes for them, sir? We might have different after class schedules."

"Ah you guys have the same schedule so it's fine. You're just going to wait for each other. So, who amongst you will go to which building—"

"I'll do it sir." I answered that way too quickly. "Our buildings are a bit far from each other so he might get lost on his way there, so I'll be the one to go here and wait instead."

It would be bad if he went to our building, then people even in my strand would tease the heck out of us.

"Okay, is that fine with you, Warren?"

"Yes, sir."

"Well, that's settled then. Thank you for accepting, Ali. You can go back to your class now."

"No problem, sir. I'll be going now then."

I finally stepped outside and right after I closed the door, I could hear the loud cheers coming from the room. Well at least they weren't like that to my face.

"No way?? And you accepted?? I knew you'd be interested in him too! Finally my best friend's going to have a boyfriend ahh!"

"Geez why are you guys so eager for me to have one when you guys don't even have one yourselves."

Everyone looked away. It's not like they didn't have one before though. Ke liked someone who was in a different school, they dated for a while but recently they had broken up. Rhie was dating someone before too, the relationship lasted longer than Ke's and by longer, I meant a whole year. They had to break it off because he went to a different country this year. She loved him dearly but even so, she'd still have crushes with random guys now and then. While Pryce had ended his only this summer.

I swear these people are having no luck with relationships this school year.

"*sigh* It's not like what you think. I only accepted because I didn't have a choice. Sir was the one who asked me."

"Well, just good luck with that then. By the way, should we just go on ahead without you after classes?"

"Wow some friends are you... yeah whatever. I can take care of my own."

As what we've planned, I went straight towards the Arts and Design building. I didn't really mind going here last time since I only have to pass something but now that I'd be here waiting after classes, that just meant that the students here will all be out of their classrooms seeing an unfamiliar face hanging around their building!

Ugh this is such a drag but whatever. I just hope their classes end sooner so we could get this over with—

"Hey."

I looked at my side to see Warren approach me. I don't know if it was just me but he looked a bit uncomfortable.

"Hey, so let's go? Let's start at the left and just go around from there to back here. We could also stop by the gate in the end if you want."

"Ah no, I'm going back here."

"Oh okay." Hmmm. "Let's go then."

Just as we had planned, we went around campus and I told him all of what places are. Although it was after classes already, there were still students around and every time we would walk by them, they'd always turn their heads and look at the unfamiliar student.

"Woah I've never seen him before." "A transferee? His uniform looks like from senior high." "Oh yeah! Arts and Design! I recognize it." "He's a senior then? Oh my gosh he looks so good."

Although their voices would whisper, I could understand exactly what they were saying. I noticed that he didn't seem to mind what the people were saying, huh, must be used to it.

"And this is our building, STEM. You see, it's a bit far from your building." No one's here, right?

"Huh isn't there a nearby clinic here? It's pretty far away, although it's near our building and a couple more. This section of the area still has lots of students, do you guys always have to rush all the way over from here to there?"

Huh, I didn't know that would be any of his concern.

"Well, they are planning to put a clinic actually. It'll be by the faculty building or could also be by this STEM building, I'm not too sure though, if you want the correct info of that, I can contact someone to ask."

"Ah no, that's fine. I was just curious."

"Are you interested in the school's layout?" He is in the arts and design strand so that could be the reason why he was curious.

"Oh uh actually I just noticed. I asked my classmate where the clinic was yesterday so it just brought up in my mind again today."

"Were you sick? Or do you worry to not find any nearby clinics because you're in need of a check up at all times?"

Why am I so curious...?

...Why is she so curious?

"Ahaha... I'll come clean after all. Well I heard from your classmates yesterday that you were sick and was about on their way to go to the clinic right after they passed your group's project. I asked my classmate where the clinic was and seeing as how far it was from your building, I uh... was curious how the students were handled if they were sick yeah! Haha... that's just all there was to it."

"Oh I see." If I didn't know, I would have assumed you were worried about me, what with that expression you have on your face right now. "Well it is a pain for a bunch of students who are in this section to be far away from the clinic but we can manage the difficulties. Sometimes the teachers even help the students with their motorcycles if they were around."

"Hmm okay, that's a bit reassuring to hear."

"So, shall we proceed then?"

"Sure."

"We're near the gates now, the campus isn't too big but it is considered to be spacious. Was the tour tiring for you?"

"No, it's fine."

"Okay, you won't really get lost here if you were to walk around alone. Advice if you did forget where you walked, just follow the path then you'll eventually get back where you came from. You can see from afar where the edges of the paths anyway and the campus is just like one big oval, where the path just wraps around it. So you'll be fine."

"You sound really experienced in touring people. Are you normally the one that tours the new students around the place?"

"Nah believe me when I say this is my first time. I guess I just went in this school for so long that I know what exactly to say right now haha."

"Alright, you're going back to your building, yeah? I'll be going now—"

"Wait!"

"Hm?"

"...I wanted to talk to you about something... Do you mind if I talk to you for a bit?"

...

"Sure, what is it?"

"Oh uh, I was wondering if we could talk about it some place else... I don't want anyone hearing about this this so..."

...

"No problem! It's not too far from here but there should be a vending machine and a place to sit peacefully, we could grab a drink while we're there too."

"O-okay."

"What do you like to drink? My treat for the new student."

"Oh no, it's fine. I'll just buy my own."

"Okay."

I stepped back from the vending machine and waited when he was getting his drink. When he was done buying his, we sat down on the seats that I talked about earlier.

"So um...—"

"Hold on. I have something to say to you as well actually. If you don't mind me asking first."

"? Go ahead."

"You... How did you know my name? You don't actually like me, right?"
