#OKAY WHO WANTS TO GIVE ME THE ROYALTY AU THREADS 🤲

modern verse(s) as explained very briefly in my verses page. here are the slightly more descriptive events which has unfolded in the following AUs.

default — daughter of a property development and construction conglomerate group.

rhea comes from a family who founded Royce Group in the in the late 1960's - early 1970's.

it wasn't until the early 1990's though that the Group gained its traction, and their profit skyrocketed.

the Royce Group owned several hotel franchises, most notably the Royal Royce Hotel in which the first one opened its doors in 1962 along the coast of runestone's private beach area.

ever since, the Royce Group have diversified their businesses into property investment, which includes developing housing areas, theme parks, casinos and so forth.

having grown into a conglomerate group, the family (the royces) could still profit off of their family's investments while not being directly involved in any existing projects. regardless of that, it is tradition that many royce family members, especially the main branch, are expected to be involved among the manager or director level.

born to yorbert and gemma royce, rhea was their second child among three. at age eight, her older brother, brahm, fell incredibly sick from pneumonia and passed away after treatment failed.

rhea was homeschooled up until she was eleven years old, where she then attended Sharra School For Girls, a private boarding school in the vale.

having graduated with honours, rhea attended Oldtown University, a prestigious university in Westeros with 16.8% acceptance rate — as opposed to attending Antlers University in the crownlands (which many of her forefathers attended), or University of Myr, where many of her peers at her time attended.

at Oldtown University, rhea studied business and economy, eventually changing her major to veterinary medicine (while minoring in business); she graduated later than expected, but with high honours.

in verses where she isn't married and/or engaged to daemon, she became involved with Royce Group immediately; defending her position from an envious cousin-once-removed, gunthor, while she quickly climbed to a managerial position under runestone division.

on the side and when she's got time, she volunteers at animal sanctuaries.

royalty au — the targaryens are still royalty, and rhea is a nobleman's daughter; engaged to the prince.

following somewhat like the real-life british monarchy, the targaryens are the royal family of westeros, a constitutional form of government by which a hereditary sovereign reigns as the head of state. (my headcanon is that otto is the prime minister in this.)

rhea is born into nobility, as the second child and firstborn daughter of earl and lord of runestone, yorbert royce. she is formally called lady rhea royce.

as a child, their family along with the arryns sometimes spent their holidays at king’s landing, where she and aemma became well acquainted with the targaryen children.

rhea lost her brother, brahm, when brahm was ten from pneumonia (and she were only eight years old). their mother, devastated, passed away two years later; leaving yorbert royce a widower with two living daughters.

her education is more or less same as above: she was homeschooled until she was eleven, then attended a private boarding school for girls in the vale, and then oldtown university with which she graduated at the top of her class and with honour years later.

despite being in a position to one day inherit runestone, rhea became interested in veterinary medicine as early as age sixteen years old; volunteering at farms and sanctuaries frequently.

at Oldtown University, rhea studied politics, history and economy alongside veterinary medicine to make up for what her noble duty asks of her.

at age nineteen however, an official letter has been sent by the head of the state, queen alysanne targaryen, formally asking rhea to become engaged with the second prince and heir, daemon targaryen, duke of dragonstone.

the news of the arrangement was somehow leaked, and within a month, rhea rose from being a generally unknown individual, to the most observed woman in all of westeros.

though the rapidly-growing attention shone on her was a massive whiplash, rhea was well-received by the public for her activism, constant graciousness and her pleasant background. (read: she had no scandals to spoke of.)

though it is made very clear quickly that the engagement (if the plot arrives here: and subsequent marriage) was ill-matched for the journalists and tabloids started reporting on how badly prince daemon treated his fiancé, and reports of affairs began to circulate.
