"Urghhh... Out of everything you could've asked why did you have to go and ask about THAT?" Machi was grumpy. No grump was FAR  TOO LIGHT for how she felt right now. She was pissed. The fuck. OFF. Talk about a past that haunted you... Machi just couldn't seem to put this whole thing behind her... How had their stupid high school drama continue to predate on them WELL into adulthood? Well, because Tokyo wasn't nearly as big as it LOOKED, apparently... Or maybe there was something far greater at work? Not that it mattered, Machi had a question to answer... "Look. It's complicated. I don't feel GOOD about it, if that's what you're asking... But do I feel sorry...?" she trailed off with an uncertainty that would surely bely any attempt to DECEIVE. "It's just not that easy, okay?! A lot happened between us and to not only FORGIVE Anne and Usagi but to APOLOGIZE to them? That just raises too many questions..." What if they wanted BACK INTO HER LIFE? She'd be kind of a hypocrite to lock them out despite wanting KANA to let HERSELF back in. "What if I wanted them back in?" THAT had been a niggling churn in her gut and honestly the truest reason for said drama stretching on for so many years. "What would Kana do it I made friends with them again? Would they even ACCEPT an apology? If not then I'd just get pissed off at them again and then we'd be back at square one..." So in summary: She wanted to, but was scared of how Kana would react, and was too prideful to have said apology rejected. "THAT IS SO NOT WHAT I SAID!!"
