biking fast and running red lights and riding on the sidewalk to try to catch the train that only comes every 20 min and arriving at the faregates just in time to hear the doors closing - heartbreaking. earthshattering, even, if hungey enough. but doing all that and arriving to hear the sound of the doors opening? sprinting the bike up the stairs and hurling yourself through the doors at the last second? i think is how people feel when they summit Everest, or perhaps when they give birth to a child.

is it worth the risk of arriving breathless and sweaty only to wait 19 min for the next train? well if jupiter is in retrograde and the alternate line is on time you can catch a transfer - another sweet, sweet little gamble: will you now be 10 minutes later than planned or 30 when the one you're on kisses the cheek of the connecting train departing from the platform just before you arrive? absolutely. live life on the edge. roll the fuckin dice babe. roll the fuckin dice

OLD_FOLKS HOME chapter 22 came out a few days ago! in this one goobert goes to leshy to challenge him for one of magnificus's belongings that the old photographer, has, up until now, refused to relinquish...

this was the last of my bulk-written batch so i'll be taking a bit of a break before the next set get released! in the meantime i hope you all enjoy this chapter, i had a lot of fun writing it ^^

when i was a kid with a laptop the ultimate entertainment for me was taking videos of myself witj funny filters on the camera app i used

this evening i'm thinking about the mum of one of my closest friends. after i came out to her son she was one of the first people my parents' age who used my real name. i was at their house and she just said "hi ted", and it was so effortless, and yet with such care in her voice, and with this smile that said 'i'm so glad to know this name makes you happy' that i still think back to that and feel like weeping and hugging her

My city last year made a bill that allows Community's to have the taxes that is allocated to that area for things like road and light maitance, garbage pick up, and parks etc… the money that typically the city would just give a general budget for the community is now handed over to the community association and voted on by is members (my city also limits a membership at 30$) Than the treasury and community President sets up the work for it. Technically, the bill covers our China town in particular, the Chinese community association is the ppl allocating things, but because it's also the general areas community assoiation it allows any other community group to apply for the same kind of status. I'm bout to buy my membership now that I know I'm not moving, and  it gets me a community plot for 15$ and a pass for the pool nearby the elementary school. They just planted 15 fruit trees in the park last year, they have a public skate rink. Never let anyone make you think engaging in your community is worthless. It's scary sure. but it is worth digging roots into where you live, even if your renting.
