Broken Stars & Pixie Dust Izumi Design!
Her eyes are pretty hard to describe in writing, but there’s a colour for each of the wielders, theres also a hint of their colours on the inside of her hair.

anyone. I know you said we’ll see Izuku call Afo “dad” once later in the story, but i have this image in my head of Izuku being distracted by something like making coffee and absentmindedly adressing Afo as dad by accident and then immediately trying to jump out a window to escape the consequences of his action. Afo would be glowing the rest of the day probably.
You know what? It's the one thing that would make AFO forget the entire murder attempt and go back to making breakfast again.
Though Izuku would definitely keep running from the consequences of his actions.

I will always be intriqued by haunted ofa
This is another fic fight story. It was also one of the oneshots that was like Candid but I couldn't quite get the mood down, so I'm editing it so it's just Izuku hanging out with the holders in his dreams. Very heavily inspired by seeping through
“So it’s settled?” Yoichi says.
“No. I have no reason to teach him,” Second grumbles. He finally places a yellow +2 down.
“We’re the only two who know how to,” Third says. “And I’m busy being paper-weighted by Yoichi, which means you have to be the one to do it.”
“No,” Second says. He places another +2 down.
“Second—”
“I won’t.”
“Please—”
“I’m ignoring you.”
“I’ll give you a smooch?” Third suggested. Chin over Yoichi’s shoulder, he makes kissy sounds at Second’s disturbed expression.
“Absolutely not,” Second spits.
Third’s lips barely twitch into a smile. “Second…”
“What?”
“That wasn’t an offer. That was a threat.”
————
“And this is the scope,” Second continues.
Izuku nods as Second tilts the sniper rifle towards him, flicking on the safety as he does.
“You look into it, you aim, you shoot. You’ve got a decent eye for precision, so I have faith you could hit a body if it was close enough to you.” Second pushes the rifle into Izuku’s hands. Second squints at him after a moment. “Maybe.”

love fic writers taking advantage of the fact that there isn't a single heterosexual explanation for yoichi passing on ofa to the second user via DNA. like. they're pretty explicit in the fact that no one knew what yoichi's ability was until ofa got passed on. they were gay married and love is stored in the one for all-

i saw your tags on the tag game post and TEEHEE good taste gang meet me in the woods is on my wittebane playlist >:))) it's the Running Away Into The Spooky Woods With My Lover of it all... Cursed fits caleb really well too actually lol. lord huron 🤝
(also if you were referring to me up there apologize not for i love being tagged in shit always)
YEAAAHHH it IIISSSSS! Good taste gang yay :) Ooh I gotta give that song a listen too! I just have a vague toh vibes playlist and Meet Me In The Woods has been there for aaages hehe. It is the Running Away Into The Spooky Woods With My Lover... and in addition my brain saw ghostleb in FTF and heard the lyrics "i have seen what the darkness does/say goodbye to who i was/i ain't never been away so long/don't look back, them days are gone/follow me into the endless night/i can bring your fears to life/.../meet me in the woods tonight"
because like [incoherent ramble incoming] the darkness is PHILIP over the centuries and caleb who once LOVED his brother can only look down on him in disgust after all of it and he's been a ghost for centuries and the days philip has longed for and tried to get back via grimwalkering his bro are long gone because of his OWN actions and and and okay then i was grasping at straws a little but you can't tell me wherever belos ended up was a fun place idk maybe that's the endless night and also caleb and the grimwalker ghosts?? BUT he WAS in the woods at night so that one makes sense ajksdjasgjoas. can you glimpse at my vision past the rambling and poor wording at past 1 am jgkagsl
but yEAHHHH CALEB SONG 🤝

like if you prefer this plot point im not trying to say it's bad or anything, but if izuku never got OFA i dont think i'd have liked the plot near as much
like it was fun. it was thematic. it was a mystery. it was romantic. it was hype.

For Fic Writer Izuku
OFA Ghosts also thinking Izumi has a prophecy quirk because before he found out about them he wrote a gif that included them + the concept of a haunted OFA and he got uncomfortably close to the truth of everything via research and observation, but also just sheer dumb luck.
The biggest thing he got wrong was one of their names, but it was also a super common nickname/mistake when they had been alive that it didn’t even register at first especially when the biggest plot twist in the fox was drafted out; because it was the reveal that OFA’s first holder/origin source was related to AFO.
Just… think of the chaos and mayhem! The way they’d make it a fucking meme amongst themselves when they learn that “No, he doesn’t have a prophecy quirk.” “…Or does he…?”
Bonus: AFO finding Izuku’s fics for whatever reason and just being faced with the possibility that someone has a prophecy quirk or he has a mole in his operation
Vestiges frantically rummaging through Izuku's mind/soul/quirk factor to try and find Something that proves this kid has a prophecy quirk but coming up empty-handed like, oh oh god he's just built like that

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the final MHA chapter because the internet seems to be very divided
I waited till MHA officially ended! Long post ahead!!
People being divided on the ending makes sense. Different people come to watch shows and read comics for very different reasons and with very different expectations for an ending in mind. Especially for a series like MHA which is a battle manga that seeks to subvert shonen genre tropes.
I think part of the reason why people are so divided on it right now is because of leak culture and reaction culture. People have to remember that comic books and manga are a storytelling medium. The author actually thinks about the arrangement of the panels, what’s in the panels, and how the combination of these things can form a narrative. Reading it from twitter thread/discords from people in a rush to translate to get the information to you as fast as possible is NOT the intended way to experience the story.
The “leak format” kind of encourages people to put too much focus on certain panels and roughly translated text that would otherwise feel very different when you are reading the story through the intended medium, and when you pair that with the highly reactive way people ‘consume content’ nowadays, the result is a snowball of very volatile emotions being thrown around without a moment for people to breathe, think, and wonder for themselves “Why did the author write it like this? Was there something I missed? How does this re-contextualize story? Have I actually missed the point this whole time?” etc.
That being said, I sort of have a philosophical way of approaching MHA?? When I got back to it again, I was hyper-critical of it especially because I just came back from reading One Piece (and the writing styles and messages are VERY different). I slowly learned to judge the writing for what it is rather than keep comparing it to other series and I learned it was more enjoyable to experience the story like that.
The ending is a very hard pill to swallow for a lot of people which is understandable, but it didn’t come out of nowhere. I mean, just look at the ending lines of "Do Not Be Defeated by Rain", the poem that inspired Deku’s character:
I am also a stubbornly optimistic person, and my number one rule is never to engage with anything in bad faith. I CHOOSE to see hope through the margins and the final chapter being so open to potential encourages that thinking of mine.
So even though I think there are some things that could be handled better (the villains) and storylines I WISH were explored (OFA vestiges my beloved) there’s no reason why it couldn’t be fixed.
There is this openness to it that leaves so much room for hope and imagination that I can’t truly be mad at it.
I might find MHA lacking as an entertainment piece, but I will defend it to the end as an artistic piece.
Horikoshi has said before that he doesn’t care if his manga is popular or not, MHA is basically a culmination of the stuff he enjoys, and I KNOW drawing whatever the hell you want despite knowing not everyone will like it takes a lot of guts and it’s what makes MHA so human.
All the traces of him are in there, flaws and everything, so you can endlessly turn it around, flip back and forth and there will be always something new to unpack, learn, and realize and the thought of what could've been will always haunt people (just like Star Wars, a series he also likes kajdbaldnlk)

Deku's final battle: recognising his self-worth
I really wanted Kacchan to tell Izuku he could be a hero without a quirk, but I just realised how important it is for Deku to come to that realisation on his own.
...
Everyone always told him he could never be a hero. Even though he was persistent in pursuing his dream, he was still desperate for validation, haunted by his mother's apology to him after finding out he was quirkless. When All Might tells him he can't be a hero without a quirk, Deku seems to give up. He only accepts the chance to stand in the ring that AM offers him with OFA.
We have yet to see Izuku break free from the feelings that he has to make himself worth everything he was given. While part of this is his own satisfying journey of self-improvement, as Kacchan points out: "deep down, he doesn't take himself into account" (ch284). Izuku lives to be useful and approved of by others.
I would love to see Izuku recognise his inherent worth and unique skills, and to reconnect with a desire to save people, not out of necessity or to be a satisfactory successor, but because it fulfills him.
As for what quirkless hero Izuku could look like:
I don't think AM was wrong for telling Izuku he needed a quirk to be s hero. His logic was sound, and AM has the irreparable injuries and decades of experiences both quirkless and with OFA to back it up. However, AM does not have Izuku's creativity. While they have the same spirit, Izuku' ingenuity, intelligence, and appreciation for different kinds of quirks is his own unique combination. He was never going to be a hero like All Might, as much as a desires it. His stature does not allow it, and the damage he has done to his body means his fighting style is completely different. Izuku has to find his own way.
This could be through support items. I believe All Might's super suit demonstrated his own admiration of Deku as a hero, and teased what Quirkless Pro Hero Izuku could look like.
