Filsi hated Sarvchi. She wasn’t a hateful person, not really, but so much of Sarvchi was fake and pretentious and petty, and she was exhausted by it. She’d been privately tutored not only in maths, sciences, histories, philosophies, and languages, but also in the art of deception, bribery, flattery, and even seduction should it be required. All in the name of family and power.
She leaned against the railing of the balcony, overlooking the sparkling purple waters of the bay, the red suns setting in unison off in the north. The pink and orange light bounced off the icy glaciers, creating a cacophony of colors behind her family’s mansion. She put her weight on her elbows, letting her wrists droop off the front of the railing as she took it all in. Next to Csilla, Sarvchi had the greatest concentration of pure glacial ice in the galaxy. Technically, Hoth had more ice, but that had more to do with the weather patterns and snowstorms than ice formations. Ilum was a close third, but Sarvchi had about three hundred thousand more cubed meters of glacial ice than-
“Dearest Filsi, are you out here daydreaming again?”
Her heart seized in her chest as she turned her head around to see her mother, standing tall and straight, hands folded demurely over her stomach, every single gray hair placed carefully and precisely around her head. Her rich blue skin and beady red eyes were covered in makeup, including a gold leaf blush over her cheeks.
Filsi just shook her head, “No, Mother. I am remembering Grandfather’s geography lessons.”
Her mother just scoffed, “That old man should spend more time teaching you how to speak at a soiree than how to tell one bloody rock from another.”
She didn’t bother to correct her. She just kept looking out over the horizon, watching as the suns disappeared behind the mountains, casting their early shadow over their home.
It didn’t take more than ten seconds for her mother to begin fidgeting with Filsi’s dress, straightening her necklace, brushing nonexistent dust off the fabric, tucking locks of hair, pulling faces the whole while. It took everything in Filsi not to sigh - that would have been grounds for severe punishment. So she let her mother push and pull and twist and huff without so much as a deep exhale in response, fighting every instinct to run or squirm out of reach.
“Have you taken your medication today? We can’t have rumors flying about like Clan Inrokini, you know.”
Filsi nodded, even though it was lie, “Yes, Mother.”
“Good. We can’t have the whole clan knowing we have a disgrace in the family,” she commented dryly, plucking a strand of hair from Filsi’s shoulder.
Filsi said nothing in reply.
But she was gone the next morning.

Chapters: 5/5 Fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types, Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic (Video Game) Summary:
Sometimes, even galactic heroes need to retire. After the events of Fractured Alliances, the original Commanders have fought too hard for too long and need to entrust the Alliance to those who can pick up where they left off. This new set of heroes - Jedi, Sith, Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Troopers, and Agents - come to the forefront of the Galaxy in their own ways. The sound of the emergency alarm was blaring throughout the complex, the monotone voice announcement on repeat, “All staff to the central auditorium. This is a mandatory emergency meeting, commencing in five minutes. All staff to the central auditorium. This is a mandatory emergency meeting, commencing in five minutes. All staff to the central auditorium.”
“All staff” amounted to about fifty people, most of whom were human. A dozen or so agents called in from other planets. Oh how they’d fallen since the Star Cabal. Kell’di looked around the room for Cipher Nine, but unsurprisingly, she wasn’t there.
There were whispers flying about why the meeting might have been called. The Emperor’s death had sent the Empire into a dizzying spiral of despair - Darth Marr and the Wrath had been killed, Zakuul had announced war, the Dark Council was falling apart at the seams, and everyone still on Dromund Kaas had been coopted into helping their war efforts. It wasn’t a glamorous or enjoyable time in Sith Intelligence. And this meeting could have been about anything from enemy infiltration of their ranks to Zakuulan shutdowns to military drafts.
Shara Jenn took the podium at the front of the room, taking great pains to hide the illness that had wracked her body for the last three years - another gift from the Star Cabal.
She cleared her throat and got the attention of the room before she spoke, “Minister Beniko… has gone AWOL. We have no further details on her desertion, but we must assume that either she has defected from the Empire or she is dead.”

BLOOP FOR ZAIREYI
Fun fact! Zaireyi for some reason is a Miraluka with a lot of patriotism for the Empire. This mostly happened because I wanted a Miraluka character and I wanted a character to romance Acina, but hey, you know, whatever. She loves to prank stupid college kids (she had a stint as a professor of medicine at the Imperial Academy on Dromund Kaas) and convince them that she went through some horrid experience of having her eyeballs scooped out and she’s Actually a Human but she wears the mask over her eyes for their own protection so they don’t have to see the HORROR. 90% of them believe her at first, but then she starts doing things that clearly indicate she does have SOME sense of sight and someone figures it out. Said Person immediately gets an A for being observant. Which is a necessary skill when becoming a doctor.

Chapters: 4/? Fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types, Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic Rating: Mature Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Summary:
Ziost has been destroyed. Zakuul rises quickly, wreaking havoc in its wake. When it's clear that the Republic and Empire don't have the ability to fight back, a group of heroines (and a couple heroes) comes together to form an alliance. They are Republic soldiers and Imperial spies, Jedi and Sith, Smugglers and Bounty Hunters. They are friends, family, allies, strangers. But they all have a single goal: push Zakuul back and destroy Valkorion, the former Sith Emperor Vitiate.
Lana stepped forward into the center of the chamber, expecting no seat for herself and finding none. She wasn’t a guest, she was prey. Each of them held their tongues when she entered, turning their gaze to her, scrutinizing every move she made, every noise that came from her.
Vowrawn began the proceedings in his normal convivial way, “Minister Beniko, we are overjoyed that you join us today. It is my understanding that you are here to discuss the former Lord Wrath.”
She nodded, “Yes, my Lords.”
Rictus tched, “You have no proof that she is alive still, how are we supposed to be convinced to devote funds to you?”
Aruk slapped him, “Don’t you think she’s going to tell us? Honestly, Rictus, how did you even get to the Council?”
A fight almost erupted then and there, but Nox cleared her throat and silenced the room.
“Please, Minister Beniko,” she drawled, “excuse the children in the room. Do continue.”
Lana nodded and swallowed, “I assure you, my Lords, if you focus your meditations you can find both Lord Politryk and our former emperor-”
“Are you suggesting, Minister,” Ravage interrupted defensively, “that we have not taken the time to meditate on these recent events? And that we - the most powerful Sith Lords in the Empire - simply did not focus enough to feel the Wrath through the Force?”
“Of course not, my Lord-”
“Oh, I am bored already,” Zhorrid whined loudly, “Where is my alien friend? I’d like to pick her brain some more.”
Darth Nox immediately rose from her seat, “Darth Imperius does not heed to your every beck and call, you entitled snot. And she is hardly your friend.”
“Of course she’s my friend,” Zhorrid reeled in horror, “Do other people befriend aliens differently?”
Nox’s eyes nearly rolled right through her skull, seemingly taking all her energy to just keep from launching her holoimage at her. Three minutes in and they were already off track and off topic, and honestly it was starting to feel like Lana had to herd a room of territorial tooka cats.
Ravage continued, “Do grow up, Zhorrid. Imperius cannot be your friend. As sad as it is, you are above her in every way. How she made it onto the council is truly a mystery and proof of the sad state of our Empire. Truly, allowing not one, but two aliens? What has the Empire come to?”
“I’ll have you know I earned this position through my own merits, Ravage,” Darth Occlus argued, gesticulating wildly, “I did not go through medical school blind and alien just to be rewarded with your sour attitude.” She pointed to the mask over the part of her face where human eyes would be.
“Oh, boo hoo. Acina, keep your alien slave in line.”
A spark of electricity flew from Acina’s fingertips towards Ravage; not enough to physically injure him, but it was certainly a reminder that she was not on his side and she was not to be trifled with. Occlus grinned wickedly beside her.
“I don’t need eyes to see that you’re a little bitch, Ravage,” she remarked, mightily pleased with herself.
“Folks, please, you may all return to your bickering once we have retired for the day,” Vowrawn announced loudly, “May I remind you that we are not here to determine the worth of our members.”
Nox and Ravage both sat down again, pointedly refusing to look at each other or at Zhorrid who was whistling to herself.

Zaireyi Mitak
Class: Sith Inquisitor, Sorcerer Titles: Darth Occlus (or Darth Obcaecus depending on whose fic you’re reading) Light/Dark Side: Neutral Sexual Orientation: sophisticated bisexual, poly Romance/Spouse: Darth Acina, Urtel Moren Species: Miraluka
About: Zaireyi, despite being an alien in a racist Sith Empire, is absolutely the zealous patriot. She will do anything to make the Empire better, influence its allies, or improve its strength, regardless of the moral ambiguity of some of those actions. She was the apprentice of Darth Marr, and took the Sphere of Biotic Science from Acharon when she joined the Dark Council. She’s also a professor of medicine at the Imperial Academy (which I do have unpublished fic of, so if there’s an outcry for that, I can show you all). Vehemently against torture and political assassinations, but will wage a war to keep a planet in line; will do anything to protect the Empire. Also, though, she is aggressively bisexual, will flirt with everyone possible. Hates sycophants with a burning passion. Has zero self-esteem problems and lives to stick it to the old racists of the Empire. She definitely saves Urtel from the Jedi on Alderaan and that’s her first meeting with Messalina, my Darth Nox. Darth Thanaton also has it out for Zaireyi because aliens on the Dark Council are not “traditional” and she’s threatening Acharon’s position. So she teams up with my disaster Messalina, heals her up after the ghost eating catastrophe at the end of Chapter 2, and fights Thanaton with her and Thastre in Chapter 3.
