The radio silence really is to be expected, Izian concludes, given the circumstances surrounding his friend, but expectation doesn't diminish his concern for Andan. Nor, he found, did it diminish Rysandor's. The two men had arrived at Andan's apartment complex at roughly the same time, having made plans to meet there after a short series of messages inquiring if either had heard from their friend, and confirming that neither had. They stood outside the door, waiting for some sort of answer after knocking a moment before.

"You look like hell," Rysandor said in lieu of a more traditional greeting when Andan opens the door. Izian would have chosen something perhaps a bit more tact, but he can't disagree with the sentiment when he takes in Andan's appearance. His friend, normally so immaculate and well-dressed, was the picture of exhaustion; face unshaved, clothes that had clearly been slept in, shadows under his eyes. (Not that the latter wasn't common for an Intelligence agent, he supposes. Such was the nature of their work.) Even more telling of Andan's exhaustion is his lack of a response to Rysandor's quip, and Izian clears his throat before speaking, tone gentle. "May we come in?" He can hear a shrill cry from the apartment, and he sees the way Andan reflexively flinches at the sound. "Suit yourselves," he finally replied, taking a step back to allow Izian and Rysandor entry into the apartment. The source of the cries was apparent when they stepped inside, and Izian stepped over to the dining table, setting down the bag he'd brought with him and digging through to empty it of its relevant contents. "Mina?" "Trying to get her to take a nap. She hasn't slept... a few hours. I don't know. She's fussy." Andan sighed, turning his attention to what Izian was doing. "These?" "I was unsure what you already had and what you were lacking. So I thought that I would cover all my bases, as it were. Formula, diapers, a blanket. Other items for her care." Izian answered, lifting a wrapped container and setting it down. "And something to eat, as well. I was unsure what you have in your fridge." The casserole was a dish that his mother had taught him on Csilla, before he began his training for a life in espionage. Izian didn't have much time for cooking these days, but it seemed as appropriate a time as any to use his neglected cookware. "Brought this for her, too," Rysandor said, setting the stuffed animal down on the table, and Izian can't resist a slight smile of his own when he sees the semblance of a positive emotion on Andan's face - the first he'd seen in a while. "We thought we'd come lend you a hand for the night, Vicari. If you can put up with us." "You two don't have to, you know," Andan said quietly, "but... thank you." "Of course we do. We're friends. We're friends, right?" Izian said, tone gentle, smile on his face. It was less of a question and more of a reminder. One that Andan had needed, judging from the way a smile of his own crept on his face. "Right." "We can handle Mina if you'd like to get some rest, Andan." "Or a shower," Rysandor said. "You really DO look like hell, you know." Andan barked out a laugh, a mixture of offense and amusement evident, and Izian couldn’t resist a slight chuckle of his own. It was good to see. "I'd like to see you do better."

Sierra says: loyal, sacrificing, loving

Izian says: "Hmm. I would say that I am dedicated, I am a worker, and that I am family-oriented. I suppose that last one might classify me as a cheat, given that it's two words, but no matter."

8. Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?

they intrigue him, but not to the point where he would get hung up on one that he wasn't having any luck with. if he had the time on his hands to work on it then yeah, he'd try it out, but if it was overly frustrating and/or not going anywhere, he'd be willing to drop it and go do something else with his time.

17. Do they like children?

definitely! he has a soft spot for kids, and acts as a very loving uncle to Mina and Elek in particular, making sure they have anything they might need that he can provide. he'd be open to the idea of having children of his own someday if life was in a right place for it.

11. Best Friend

his closest friends are Nesren, Andan, Rys, and Marley :') Izian likes to think that he's mature and above nonsense (which he is, for the most part), but the former three just bring out his inner chaos like nobody else can. lol. he loves them sincerely though, and wouldn't trade them for anything. Marley isn't a chaos friend like those three are, but she is his drinking buddy and one of the few people that Izian can relate to regarding familial issues. their stories with Isando and Athamew aren't the same, but similar enough that they know where the other is coming from.

23. Romance

Izian is with Branavio for a while, during the Ilum arc. they'd been friends for a while by that point, they were interested in each other, they decided to give it a try. they did genuinely love each other quite a bit, but they both recognized that it wasn't compatible in the long term, so they broke up. about a year-ish later is when Izian and Nesren become a thing; slowburn friends to lovers realizing they see each other in a new light, lol. Nesren makes Izian laugh, makes sure he doesn't overwork himself, and in turn, Izian makes sure Nesren stays safe and cared for when he goes underground. they're happy together.

41. Memory

one of his worst memories (yes, I'm going w angst here) is the discovery of Isando's force sensitivity. like Iaze before him, Isando was ratted out to the authorities by their own father, and there wasn't much to be done in his defense to keep him on Csilla. the twins knew it was their dad who ratted him out just as he had ratted out Iaze when she was seven and the twins were nine, and it was the last time Izian would see Isando until he received an official transfer to the Empire. informing the authorities of their father's force sensitivity in turn seemed only fair to Izian, and he did it, but he has a lot of mixed feelings about it to this day.

17. Scars

he probably has a few knicks on his arms and legs from accidents as a kid, but on the whole, he doesn't really have any notable ones. he generally aims to keep it that way, too, to help with his anonymity as an agent; he has that one scar removing machine regen in-game and he would definitely use something like that to make sure he didn't get any so he doesn't stand out. however, Izian would be willing to use makeup/a holographic projector/insert some other relevant space technology here to emulate Isando's if the need ever arose for him to masquerade as his twin.

27. Sleep

he aims to get as much sleep as possible. he's a medic, he knows how important it is - especially given how stressful the agent lifestyle is. sleep is a lot harder for him over time, though, especially after Isando's defection and then Rys' "death." frequent insomnia, plenty of nightmares (especially about Rys' "death," even after he finds out his friend is still alive). his eventual alcoholism makes it so he's often going to bed wasted, but... no bad dreams, at least. :') getting together with Nesren later does its part to help him feel less alone at night, though, and helps him cut down on the drinking.

34. Affection

it runs on the quieter side, but if you're one of the people he cares about, Izian's affection bleeds into a lot of the things he does. he's very much an acts of service person; lots of checking in to make sure that you're doing well, preparing meals for you if you're going to have a busy time coming up, trying to solve problems for you, etc etc. he doesn't vocalize it as much as one might think, but he's such a mother hen that it's very obvious that he cares about you when he does.

accidentally sets myself up for a tragic corruption arc w Izian by virtue of him losing almost all his family and one of his closest friends by the time KOTFE rolls around

some v important SWTOR OC ramblings

officially rolled Iaze's older brothers Izian and Isando into the game. concept with their family story is all three being children of House Miurani (and cousins with Saganu because the mental image endlessly amuses me and I can do what I want in my imagination). Iaze was discovered to have Force sensitivity at a young age by her father, who ratted her out and got her exiled from the Ascendancy. all to save himself bc she got it from him, and he didn't want to lose his cushy life bc of a kid who couldn't control herself. Iaze got exiled and found herself in Hutt space for survival, eventually getting discovered by Master Orgus and taken to the order.

fast forward a few years and Isando is discovered to be Force sensitive as well, his simply manifesting later than Iaze's did. while he wasn't the one to rat her out, Izian feels guilty and responsible for his twin; he follows Isando to the Empire and joins Imperial Intelligence to keep an eye on him. Isando, meanwhile, gets sent to Korriban and enjoys the freedom of expressing his powers for the first time (while still being appropriately horrified by Sith practices). I'm thinking he'll be an apprentice of Baras's that joins Yula's crew.

I was thinking when I made them that Nalpure would probably climb to the top of Sith Intelligence and end up the commander in my canon while Izian ends up going rogue, but character development is actually pointing them the entire opposite direction

Izian’s obviously a busy guy who doesn’t have a whole lot of free time for visiting Csilla, especially after he becomes the new Keeper / Sith Intelligence commander, but he’s still pretty close with his mother, and his cousin Saganu (self-indulgent hc <3). they’ve both encouraged him to come home to Csilla several times after seeing the negative effect that Intelligence has had on Izian, which might even work at some point. there’s little he wouldn’t do for them.

3. How do they position themselves in a group? Do they like to be the center of attention, or do they hang back at the edges of a crowd?

back when he’s still Cipher 16/Fixer 33, back at the edges of a crowd. he doesn’t like unnecessary attention and he’s not much for speaking up unless he has something meaningful to say.

as Keeper / Sith Intelligence’s commander, front of the crowd and speaking mostly when necessary. still doesn’t care for the attention, but he’s a leader now and he’ll do his job the right way.

19. How do they behave within a group? What role(s) do they take? Does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? Why?

broadly speaking, quiet and hard-working. he discusses details in a clear manner, makes sure that he and the others know what their roles are to be and what’s expected of them, and then he gets to work. but if he’s working with people he’s close with (hi Rys and Andan), he’s more relaxed, playful, and dryly sarcastic. still focusing on getting the job done, but he’s not as quiet and reserved around them.

31. Is there anything that counts as a “dealbreaker” for them, positively or negatively? What makes things go smoothly, and what spoils an activity or ruins their day? Why?

feeling like he was personally betrayed by something is the biggest dealbreaker for him. he’s given up a lot for the people he cares about, and he’ll continue to do a lot for the people he cares about, but somebody doing something that they know will hurt him after he’s taken care of them? he’ll cut off relationships for that one.

selfishness in general tends to ruin things for him, activities or otherwise. everybody contributing to an activity, project, or relationship is what he prefers, but isn’t always what he gets.

for izian: what are some things that you like to do outside of work?

“Fun?” He smiles slightly, quirking a brow. “I believe I was familiar with the concept at some point, before my career in Intelligence.”

His expression is calm and relaxed as he folds his long fingers together, sitting back in his chair. “I fear you’ll find my answer somewhat dull, especially in comparison to several of my peers. I am not particularly hard to amuse, and so I do not... seek out thrills as some do, you might say. But that’s veering close to straying off-topic, yes? My apologies. To answer your question: a stiff drink with a few friends. Shopping - I’m particularly fond of buying new clothes, I’ll admit. Tinkering with my mouse droid, Beedy. Time spent with friends.” Laughing lightly, he adds, “Like I said - perhaps somewhat dull of an answer. I do apologize for that.”
