Whelp, I'm throwing my hat in the ring. Here are two of my Hellsing ocs, Lance Corporal Jamie Davies and Corporal Sam "Kelly" Whitaker.

They form a quick kinship with Seras over the 30 year gap, initially bonding over rock music and horrible jokes as they escort her to and from her training with Alpha Faelan.

Jamie grows from a carefree prick to a reliable friend and soldier, even if he's still a lewd smart-ass. Disowned by his family for his identity, he eventually finds a sister in Seras and a fiance, Bradley. He does his best to be there for Seras as she struggles and is willing to push back against Alucard's-at times- dickish behavior. Because he is openly gay, he was one of the only men who could still touch Seras without angering her premature mating bond with Alucard.

Kelly gets his nickname as collateral for having no secrets to share when Seras and Jamie have breakdowns during a werewolf party. As he becomes more vulnerable with his friends, he loses the desire to brownnose his way up the chain of command. He's the straight man in the trio's dynamic, and although he claims to hate Jamie's sense of humor, he secretly appreciates the puns. His hair gets messier as time progresses. Kelly is ace.

I'm a furry dork who hasn't had much practice with human faces lately. I know the anatomy's wonky.

[HC] On the topic of Reachfolk names, i headcanon them as having 3 names that spell out a story of that person:

a first name, given by their parents, usually having a translation that splits into two words but not always, that acts more as a title than a name (ie. Faolan = "Red Eagle"),

a second name, also given by their parents, which is more personalised to the child, less of a title more of an actual name.

and finally a third name that the person will choose themselves. this usually commemorates a major event, for example (in my world, Illia and her coven are reachfolk who travelled to the rift) Illia chooses the name "hagkiller" to commemorate standing her ground against her mother who had twisted away from reachfolk culture.

as choosing of the third name can happen at any point in the reachman's life, it is not seen as a rite of passage

to piece this all together, one of my ocs is called Fáelán Mochánn Greentoken:

Fáelán = "Little Wolf",

Mochánn = "early" (referencing the fact he was born early in the year),

Greentoken = referencing his connection to Peryite - green being symbolic of his disease and affliction n stuff

piecing it together, the name means:

"the little wolf who was born early in the year, who dedicated his life to being a champion of peryite"

Abbot Gunter teaches Faelan how to read.

I imagine that Abbot Gunter considers Faelan a grandchild of sorts. His own demon daughter died (as seen here), so he puts a lot of his fatherly (motherly?) feelings onto Faelan. That being said, once Faelan starts throwing a temper tantrum or something he doesn't want to deal with, she goes right back to her dad (mom?), Bennett.
