The link goes in detail about the species itself (and as I make more species imma have it be on the same site) but, as I mentioned a few days ago, imma be breaking down the crew OCs I made in this post here. I plan on making a mini guide on-site to get started in making some of these fellas - just for inspo and 100% optional. I'll probs do the same for any other species I'll make, it's just making art assets are a bit of a pain cuz I was trying to make sure I was consistent and such, and I don't do lineart like this usually.

Atax, the crew's Commando!

He's the oldest of the crew and the tallest of the guys - ages undetermined - and he worries a lot about them. It's a combination of some of them being new, and that a lot of them don't take time for themselves usually, so he has to keep a constant eye on the time to send them off to do something other than work. On planet, though, he's been learning that he can trust them to handle themselves.

This is his third crew since he's been space-faring. He was with his first for the most of his time faring, them having handled some intense expeditions. The one he got his tail scar from was an expedition on a planet with established friendly species, but turns out one of the groups they were working with had planned to ransom a crew - it didn't turn well for them, but it was a rough week.

On his free time, he'll usually sketch landscapes he had photographed during his time on different planets.

He greatly enjoys mildly cold, misty days.

Avarian, the crew's Hunter

She's very restless in most scenarios - only sitting still during a hunt. While she's cooking, she'll jump around the kitchen checking out different possible ingredients to add. Talis tends to join in and amplify this, as he's energetic and the one with the new funky plants. As per her cooking, she does try it to see if it's turning out well and what have you, she likes having Mortis there to try it anyway. She greatly enjoys hanging out with her - as they like rambling on about the similarities and differences of their specializations - but also because Mortis needs to chill.

She's one of the youngest of the crew - and they're her first crew off-planet.

On her off-time, she tends to carve wood with one of her daggers, or hang out and discuss weaponry with Mortis.

Mortis, the crew's Soldier

The tallest of the crew and the oldest of the gals. She is always on guard and keeping an eye out for any kind of possible threat, using most of the downtime to keep her skills sharp, and her weapons sharper.

The only ones who can really get her to relax are Atax and Avarian. She sometimes hangs out with Atax while doing weapon maintenance while he's sketching or reading reports. Avarian, though, she hangs out with her when she's cooking (getting to try her food experiments are always fun, and usually tasty) or while she's carving some lil guys - they tend to look like some of the critters she'd recently seen, and she loves listening to Avarian ramble about them.

She's been with a good handful of different crews. She has a feeling she's pretty unlucky or something, as most crews she's been with had been... involuntarily dismantled due to conditions on planet.

Apogee, the crew's LO

He tends to keep to his work, usually hanging out with Tes due to her sometimes strange material requests and sometimes having to figure out alternatives as that material is a bit hard to find or expensive cuz man recently that planet isn't on friendly terms - can we please not have to get that?? Other than Tes, his work is a good bit more straight forward, ordering herbs for Talis and Avarian as well as books and other miscellaneous items for the crew.

On his off-time, he tends to hang out with either Tes, Bas, or Atax. Tes is fun to listen talk about her latest project - it sometimes helps her figure out any roadblock she may have as well as it gives him a better understanding of why she needs certain materials - or he'll hang out and read a book alongside her. They may not read the same genres (he tends to read history books from all over the place, as she reads adventure stories or tech advancements from around the galaxy). Bas is his brother, so they'll either be genuinely hanging out or he'll be getting pranked, usually. He enjoys hanging out with Atax for the unique tidbits he can share about whatever planet he may be reading about - sometimes, though, Atax doesn't, and he won't press him on it. Other times, they'll just chill in silence.

This is his second crew, but his first with his older brother. He's glad to see him, but sometimes he gets on his nerves.

Basilisk, more commonly known as Bas, the crew's Diplomat

He's very sociable and quite easy-going, making it easy for him to chill with the crew. Most of the crew who see him at work on-planet, though, are a bit taken aback (not surprised necessarily) on how he carries himself and instructs them to do certain things. He and Atax have gotten through several meetings really well, and has had them tasked with helping negotiations on some planets where the current crew is having issues. It's pretty stressful for him, having to memorize customs for planets and make sure to not do anything potentially offensive. He enjoys his job regardless.

He tends to use his off-time more by himself to relax a good bit, or with Apogee to pester his younger brother a bit (only if they're both on break)

He's been part of a handful of different crews, but he's mainly ended up changing crews to be a part of a smaller crew, and somehow he always ends up in the middle of a crew merge, and man he doesn't want to deal with that again.

Talis, the crew's energetic Botanist

He loves experimenting with different combinations and methods of making potions and salves, and if they're safe to eat, to see what Avarian can make with them. He spitballs so many ideas that when he and Avarian get together, they'll either make something wonderful, or make one of themselves sick. Usually Talis isn't the one to try it, as he then has to care for them, and he'd rather not have someone else care for him. He's already the shortest. Despite specializing in a non-combatant role, he's been learning some ways to defend himself and ways to use some of the plants he's been studying. He hasn't brought it up to Atax, and especially not the Council, secretly hoping to whip out a "can of whoop-ass" in a moment that no one would expect. He might get in trouble when found out, as at a certain skill point he can't wear non-combatant identification if he can fight.

On his off-time, he tends to read fantasy novels. Usually by himself, but sometimes he accompanies Tes while he reads.

This crew is his second, this crew though is a lot smaller than the one he was a part of. He changed crews due to how little he got along with the other Botanists.

Tes, the crew's Engineer

She greatly enjoys her work - she mainly designs armor and weaponry - and has studied the effects different material can react and interact with other materials to a great extent. She manages to continue studying this during her off-time by reading about the latest discoveries and advancements in technology.

When she isn't reading tech advancements, she usually reads adventure stories - either for inspiration or for casual enjoyments, depending on the story. Apogee tends to be the main person she knows due to how obsessed she is with doing her work. Atax as well, because he forces her to take proper breaks to prevent her from exhausting herself.

This crew is her fourth, but she's always been in small crews as the Stargazer is the ship she designed (it was a dare and kinda evolved from there) and therefore has stayed with it.
