Love at first sight. / Squid Games!Men
Tumblr media
summary; a little prompt for each men in squid game x reader.
also my english isn't my first language so i do apologize for a few errors! enjoys x
including; in-ho, thanos, myung-gi, dae-ho & gi-hun
In-ho:
Praise yourself for catching In-ho’s attention amidst the chaos of the games. Not only did he manage to maintain his composure, but he also came to terms with the truth—it wasn’t his mind playing tricks on him, but his heart betraying him. He had been ensnared in a dangerous blend of love and death. And no matter the cost, he was determined to ensure your survival, even if it meant faking your death and arranging for the guards to escort you to his shelter.
At first, his actions were subtle—a few fleeting glances, quiet assurances that you weren’t alone. He took it upon himself to ensure someone capable stood between you and danger. This resolve led him to seek out Gi-hun, cornering him with a whispered plea. “I’m not asking for much,” In-ho murmured, his voice low and firm. Gi-hun’s brows knit together as he glanced at you, understanding little of the request but sensing its weight. Though the urge to question why In-ho couldn’t protect you himself lingered, Gi-hun ultimately accepted—he, too, had his own plans to carry out.
Yet, watching Gi-hun hover near you ignited something unexpected in In-ho—a simmering, unanticipated jealousy. His blood boiled harder than he cared to admit.
It was Gi-hun’s proximity to you that set him on edge.
While 001 had extended a friendly hand, In-ho never anticipated him stealing you away entirely. The realization unsettled him, and during the chaos of the Carousel games, panic began to creep in. When he noticed you were nowhere to be found in the room, it nearly consumed him. The thought of losing you made his fists clench, and for a brief, irrational moment, he contemplated throwing a punch at Gi-hun. But it wasn’t until the final elimination, when the doors unlocked, that relief washed over him. There you were—your silhouette unmistakable behind Dae-ho.
In that instant, he didn’t hesitate. Rushing toward you, his breath hitched, words failing him. A shaky exhale escaped his lips, a mix of disbelief and overwhelming relief. He almost laughed—a scoff of incredulity—before pulling you close, his hand instinctively cradling the back of your head. Without a second thought, he leaned in, his lips pressing a firm but tender kiss to your forehead.
“Silly,” he muttered, his voice tight with emotion. “I never should’ve trusted Gi-hun to keep you safe. Damn it, I thought I’d lost you.” The panic in his voice caught you off guard, the weight of his words sinking in. You hadn’t expected such raw vulnerability from him—not now, not like this. A soft chuckle escaped you, an attempt to lighten the moment. “It’s okay,” you reassured him gently. “Dae-ho found me right away and made sure I was safe.”
That revelation gave In-ho pause, but he filed it away for later. For now, none of it mattered. You were alive and unharmed, and that was everything.
The kiss on your forehead wasn’t just a gesture of relief—it was a silent declaration. You were his, and no one—not Gi-hun, not Dae-ho, not anyone—would ever take you from him again.
Thanos:
Once a retired rapper, Thanos now found himself thrust into a life-and-death struggle. Among his generation, it was no surprise that some idolized him—his presence commanding a respect so intense, it bordered on worship. To them, he was pristine, untouchable. But this adoration didn’t sit well with everyone, especially loners like you, who preferred to navigate the chaos without attachments.
Ironically, that aloofness was one of the many reasons Thanos found himself drawn to you.
In the early days on the island, Thanos made no effort to reveal his interest. If anything, he mirrored your indifference, matching your cold detachment with his own. But when you began spending time with Myung-gi, the dynamic shifted. Thanos hadn’t expected it, nor did he like it. Watching you bond with someone else left a bitter taste in his mouth, awakening a tension he couldn’t ignore. The loner mindset had been his strategy for survival—a simple equation: fewer people, fewer complications. But your presence complicated everything, especially when it came to your effortlessly beautiful face, which he found himself stealing glances at far too often.
It didn’t take long for his resolve to crack.
Thanos had made himself a promise: to keep his distance, to ignore you as you ignored him. But that promise shattered the moment Nam-Gyu let slip a confession Thanos had sworn him to secrecy about. That little fucker, Thanos thought bitterly, though his anger was tempered by necessity—he needed Nam-Gyu to survive. Yet, when the truth reached you, it unraveled him in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
Instead of drawing you closer, the revelation pushed you further away. Your avoidance became more deliberate, more pronounced than ever before. It stung more than Thanos cared to admit. For the first time in a long time, he was unprepared—for your reaction, for the way it tightened a knot of frustration and longing deep inside him.
Which only added more tension between the two of you.
The final games loomed, a trial where survival would demand more than just cunning—it called for a kind of ruthless cleansing. Thanos knew, without hesitation, that when the moment came, he’d be the first to grab your hand and shield you. Even if it meant overreacting, even if it jeopardized his own chances, he couldn’t bear the thought of losing you. Certainly not to Myung-gi, if it came down to that.
“You know...” he murmured late that night, his voice low and almost hesitant. Your back was turned to him, your body stiff on the thin mattress. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him, couldn’t even steal a glance. Not after everything. The weight of his breath lingered against the back of your neck, and you flinched slightly, betraying your nerves. His presence, so close and unyielding, was suffocating yet magnetic.
“Tomorrow is... big,” he continued, his words faltering as his gaze shifted across the dimly lit dormitory. For a moment, his eyes locked on Player 333, who sat sharpening a weapon in the corner—a stark reminder of the danger waiting ahead. Thanos clenched his jaw, then turned his focus back to you.
“If we’re not careful...” he trailed off, his voice softening, almost breaking. “Who knows if I’ll ever get to see your beautiful face again?”He exhaled sharply, frustrated with himself, as if admitting even that much was a risk. “I know it’s—”
Your head snapped toward him, your brows furrowing into a glare sharp enough to cut through the tension between you. For a moment, silence hung in the air, charged and heavy. Then, your voice broke it, calm yet biting. “If you keep this up, you might be the one ending up with a bullet in the face,” you said, your tone so nonchalant it bordered on cute—a contrast that left Thanos momentarily stunned. He blinked, almost scoffing in disbelief, one hand pressing dramatically against his chest.
“Ouch,” he drawled, his lips curling into a grin. “I’m hurt, sweetheart.”
Your eyes narrowed into daggers. “Do. Not. Call me sweetheart.”
Before you could say more, Nam-Gyu chimed in from his corner, a mischievous smirk playing on his face. “I bet she’s in love,” he teased, his words practically dripping with mockery.
Thanos’s cocky grin widened at that, his eyes gleaming with a maddening mix of pride and amusement. The sheer arrogance in his expression made your fingers twitch, itching to slap that smug look right off his face. But instead, you gave him one final glare—a death wish in your eyes, though to Thanos, it looked like the beginning of a love story.
“I bet she is,” he echoed, his voice soft but certain, the words carrying a weight of truth that made your chest tighten. He didn’t try to stop you as you turned and walked away, but his gaze lingered, following every step you took. Oh, how you had him wrapped around your finger without even realizing it. A wimp for you, and you alone.
Myung-gi:
Everyone knew who Player 333 was—you included. Unlike many in this room who were desperate to claw their way out of debt, you knew Myung-gi only by name. You’d heard the rumors: how he’d gotten his girlfriend pregnant, how his past was littered with mistakes and secrets. But something in you—a stubborn spark of hope, perhaps—whispered that he wasn’t as bad as everyone wanted him to be. Maybe, just maybe, there was more to him than the stories let on.
Myung-gi had noticed you, though. He’d seen the way you were with Jun-hee—the way your smile seemed to ease her fears, how your arms would wrap gently around her petite frame after every game, grounding her, giving her the space to breathe. The quiet strength and warmth you brought to her felt almost unreal, a motherly presence in a place devoid of comfort.
It was that tenderness, that undeniable light, that struck him like a blow to the chest.
Myung-gi was in love.
And he hated every single moment of it.
Why? Because he knew himself. He knew what he’d done to Jun-hee—how he’d left her while she was pregnant with his child, drowning in debt and fear. He’d been a coward, an asshole, and he knew it. That self-loathing festered, a constant reminder of his failures. And yet, it was exactly why he didn’t expect you to see him as anything other than the man he despised.
But fate had other plans.
Your first real interaction with him came after he saved you—something neither of you had anticipated.
It happened during the Bathroom games, where survival left no room for personal grudges. Confronting Thanos wasn’t at the forefront of Myung-gi’s mind, but then he heard it—your name, slipping from Thanos’s lips with such filth that it ignited a rage Myung-gi didn’t know he was capable of.
Everyone knew your past as an escort within the crypto community. Your name wasn’t hard to find, whispered in private conversations and occasionally tied to scandalous wallets. But Myung-gi knew better than to judge. Still, hearing Thanos—the retired rapper—speak of you like that, as though you were nothing more than a commodity, was the last straw.
“She was good for a foreigner. Not many—”
That was as far as Thanos got before Myung-gi’s fist collided with his jaw, cutting him off mid-sentence. The sickening crack of impact echoed through the grimy bathroom, followed by a faint splatter of blood. Myung-gi emerged from the stall alive but seething, his knuckles raw and his breath ragged. As he stepped out, his gaze immediately locked with yours. Jun-hee stood beside you, clinging to your arm for reassurance, but the look on your face was unreadable—a mix of surprise, understanding, and something softer.
A small, almost imperceptible smile crept across Myung-gi’s lips.
In that moment, he made a silent promise: no matter what it took, he’d make sure both of you got out of this alive.
Dae-ho:
Dae-ho never believed in love at first sight. With everything he’d endured in his life—the trials, the sacrifices, the relentless pursuit of strength—he saw himself as a knight in shining armor, bound by duty but never destined for romance. That belief held firm until he met you.
It happened during the Carousel game. Like In-ho, he’d noticed you before—your stoic demeanor during Green Light, Red Light had left him quietly impressed. The way you moved, swift yet calculated, managing to evade the statue’s unrelenting gaze with precision, was nothing short of remarkable. It was then that something shifted in him. Against all reason, Dae-ho found himself believing in love at first sight.
At first, he thought he was imagining it. He even considered pinching himself, blinking twice to dispel the notion. But the feeling persisted, undeniable and maddening. It wasn’t until later, when you tended to his wounds after one of the brutal games, that he finally saw you up close—and the full weight of your beauty struck him like a blow. Your lashes fluttered delicately as you focused on your task, your fingers gentle but firm as you dabbed rubbing alcohol onto his injuries. He hissed at the sting, his lips parting in a soft groan of pain.
“Be still, please,” you murmured, your tone calm but commanding. Something about the way you said it—the quiet strength in your voice—silenced his protests. He nodded, his muscles relaxing under your care, though the tension in his chest was harder to soothe.
For the first time, Dae-ho felt vulnerable—not because of his wounds, but because of you.
“You know…” His voice was low, almost hesitant, but there was a softness to it that made you pause. You could’ve sworn his lips curved into the faintest smile. “I never would’ve thought I’d see you like this—healing me. Back at the Carousel, I swore to myself I’d keep you close, that we’d find the door as quickly as anyone else. But then… the next thing I knew, Thanos had taken you before I could…”
He trailed off, his words tinged with shame. The vulnerability in his voice made you glance up at him, your fingers stilling as you finished securing the bandage. His eyes widened at your sudden attention, and he immediately began to stammer.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have—”
You interrupted him with a soft sigh, sliding the remaining bandage back into your pocket. “Don’t apologize. We just weren’t lucky, that’s all. I wanted to prove to myself that I could handle it—that I wasn’t just someone who had to count on others.” Your gaze softened as you added, almost reluctantly, “But… I have to admit, not having you there in that room—it was horrible.”
Your quiet confession was enough to undo him. Without a word, Dae-ho wrapped his arms around you, wincing slightly as the movement pulled at his wounds. Still, he didn’t let go. His embrace was warm, protective, and when he leaned in to press a kiss to your forehead, it felt like a promise.
“Nevertheless,” he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet reassurance, “I’m just glad we made it through. That you’re here with me.” His lips quirked into a small grin as he added, with a teasing lilt, “And that I get to cuddle with you for another night.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at his words, the tension between you easing for a moment. For now, at least, you both had each other.
Gi-hun:
Unlike the others, you weren’t a player. But you knew Gi-hun from the previous game he was in. He was so certain you had died right in front of his eyes back then that when he saw the mask ripped off your face—revealing you as one of the Guards—his shock was palpable. Another Guard had been taken hostage by the remaining candidates, and though you could have cursed every word that came to mind, you found yourself frozen, your voice stolen by the chaos.
In-ho was the first to recognize you. He knew you were on shift at this hour, but what he hadn’t expected was the look of sheer horror that crossed Gi-hun’s face when your name escaped his lips.
“Y/N...?” Gi-hun’s voice trembled, disbelief heavy in the air as though he was trying to confirm he wasn’t dreaming.
“You know them?” one of the players sneered, their stolen gun now aimed squarely at Gi-hun. Bodies of your co-workers—faces you barely had time to register—lay scattered across the floor, lifeless, just feet away. The metallic tang of blood filled the air.
But this time, Gi-hun wasn’t about to let anyone lay a finger on you. He remembered the vow you both had made:
"We belong to each other. And I will get you home."
With those words etched into his resolve, Gi-hun made his move. Chaos erupted as the gun exchanged hands, bullets flying. The air was filled with deafening roars of defiance and the sickening splatter of blood.
In the end, In-ho stood back, his heart cold and unyielding, as he watched Gi-hun fall. The final shot rang out, and his lifeless body crumpled to the ground. Blood speckled your cheek, and you stared in stunned silence at the empty shell of a man you had once loved.
From the shadows, a familiar voice cut through the carnage, low and mocking.
“Welcome back home, love.”
You turned toward the source, and there he was Gi-hun—his gruesome smile sending chills down your spine.

The door slammed shut behind you, the loud clank of the mechanism sealing you and Dae-ho inside the small, dimly lit room just as the timer hit zero. For a moment, the air felt charged, thick with all the words left unspoken. You stood frozen near the wall, your hands instinctively cradling your belly, while Dae-ho's tall frame loomed near the door. His jaw was clenched tight as you heard gunshots and screaming coming from the other side of the door, his eyes were fixated on the floor as if forcing himself to maintain composure.
Neither of you had so much as exchanged a meaningful glance in front of the others, too scared of what even a flicker of familiarity might invite in this place where alliances were fragile, and vulnerability was a target. But here, in this room, with no one else watching...
"Dae-ho," you breathed, the sound of his name cracking the tension like a dam breaking.
His head snapped up, and within seconds, he crossed the distance between you, his hands cupping your face as he kissed you fiercely, desperately. It wasn't soft or tender, it was raw, like he'd been holding his breath for days and could finally exhale. His lips moved against yours as if trying to drink in everything he'd been forced to repress since seeing you again.
"You're here," he murmured against your lips, his voice trembling as he pulled back just enough to look at you. His hands slid to your shoulders, down your arms, as though reassuring himself that you were real. "God, you're really here."
Your breath hitched, your chest tightening as the weight of his words hit you. "I didn't want you to know," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
"That's obvious," he said bitterly, his thumb brushing over your cheek. His gaze softened, his worry bleeding through the anger. "You shouldn't be here. What the hell were you thinking? You're pregnant. And you joined this… this hell?"
Tears stung your eyes as you turned your head away, breaking his gaze. "What choice did I have?" you said, your voice cracking. "We're drowning in debt, Dae-ho. The baby needs a future. What else was I supposed to do?"
"You were supposed to rely on me," he snapped, his hands dropping to his sides, his frustration spilling over. "I would've-" He stopped himself, running a hand through his hair as he paced the small room. "I would've done something. Anything. But you just- You didn't even tell me. You just left me out of this."
"I didn't want to drag you down," you said, your voice trembling. "You've already done so much for us, Dae-ho. I couldn't-"
"Don't," he interrupted, his voice low but sharp. "Don't give me that. You didn't drag me down. You're the one thing in my life that kept me sane." He stopped pacing and turned back to you, his gaze piercing. "And now you're here, risking not just your life but our child's. Do you have any idea what it felt like seeing you out there? Pretending I didn't know you? Pretending I didn't care?"
"I didn't want to need you," you confessed, "Because needing you… it scared me. It still does."
His jaw clenched, the muscle ticking as he looked away, his hands balled to fists before he relaxed them again. "You can need me, damn it," he said softly, his voice low but fierce. "You think I don't need you just as much?"
You pressed a hand to your stomach, the guilt and fear twisting inside you, whispering,"If they know we're connected, they could-"
"I don't care what they do to me," he cut in quickly, his voice rising. "You should've thought about what it would do to me if something happens to you. If something happens to our baby."
The silence that followed was heavy, the air between you thick with regrets. Finally, Dae-ho took a deep breath and stepped closer, his hands finding your shoulders again. His voice softened, though the edge of desperation still lingered. "We'll figure this out, okay? We'll keep our distance in front of the others, but I need you to promise me something."
You looked up at him, your heart aching at the vulnerability in his eyes. "What?"
"You don't take unnecessary risks," he said firmly. "You stick to the safest options. You stay out of the way whenever you can. And if there's even a hint of danger, you let me handle it. Got it?"
You hesitated, the weight of his words pressing down on you. "I'll try," you said finally, knowing it was the best promise you could give.
He exhaled, his forehead dropping to rest against yours. "That's not good enough," he murmured. "But it'll have to do."
For a moment, the two of you just stood there, holding onto each other as the reality of your situation loomed over you. His arms wrapped around you gently, one hand resting protectively over your belly.
"I'll get you out of here," he said softly, his voice full of conviction. "You and the baby. I swear it."
Dae-ho held you close for a moment longer before stepping back, his hands still lingering around your waist. His gaze softened, though the worry didn't leave his eyes.
"You should stick to Jun-hee," he said, his voice firm but kind.
You blinked at him, confused. "What?"
"She's part of my team and she's pregnant too," he explained. "If you two stick together, it'll make it easier for me to keep an eye on you. I know I can't be obvious about us, but at least this way, I'll know you're not alone. And I can look out for both of you without drawing attention."
You opened your mouth to argue, but something about the way he looked at you, pleading, almost desperate, made you pause. "You're really planning to take care of two pregnant women in a place like this?"
He huffed a humorless laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's just… what I do. I can't not try to help. You know that about me."
"That's not an excuse," you said back, your frustration bubbling to the surface. "You're acting like this is all on me, but what about you? Why are you even here, Dae-ho? You didn't exactly tell me you were planning on joining these games either!"
His expression faltered, guilt flashing across his face. "I was trying to protect you," he admitted quietly. "I didn't want you to know. I thought I could-"
"Could what?" you interrupted, "Fix everything? Take on the world by yourself? You think that's what I wanted? You think I wouldn't have tried to stop you if I knew?"
"I didn't want you to stop me," his shoulders slumped, "I thought if I could win… I could pay off everything. For both of us. For the baby. I didn't want you to worry about anything anymore."
You stared at him, your heart aching at the sincerity in his voice, but the frustration didn't subside entirely. "So you thought it was okay to risk your life without telling me but not okay if I want to do the same? That's not protecting me, Dae-ho. That's keeping me in the dark."
"I know," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But when I saw you here…" He ran a hand through his hair, exhaling shakily. "I didn't know whether to be furious or terrified. And now we're both in this mess."
The silence stretched between you, heavy and tense. Finally, you sighed, the fight draining out of you. "As you said, we're in this together now," you said, your voice quieter. "Whether we like it or not."
He nodded, his eyes locking with yours. "And as I said, I'll make sure you make it out of here," he said firmly. "You and the baby. No matter what."
"And what about you?" you asked, your voice trembling. "What happens to you, Dae-ho?"
"That doesn't matter," he said without hesitation. "What matters is that you survive."
The conviction in his voice made your chest tighten, and you shook your head. "I'm not letting you sacrifice yourself for me. Not again."
"We'll figure it out," he assured softly, reaching out to take your hand. "One game at a time. But for now, promise me you'll stick with Jun-hee. Please."
You hesitated, the weight of the situation pressing down on you. Finally, you nodded. "Fine. But promise me something too."
"Anything," he said without missing a beat.
"You don't do anything reckless," you said, your voice firm. "No heroics, no self-sacrificing. If we're getting out of here, we're doing it together."
His lips curved into a faint smile, though his eyes remained serious. "Deal."
For the first time since joining these games and for the first time for a very long time, you felt a flicker of hope, fragile, but real. Whatever came next, at least you weren't alone.
Dae-ho let out a shaky breath, and before you could say another word, he sank to his knees in front of you. The sudden movement caught you off guard, but it wasn't until his arms wrapped gently around your waist that your breath hitched. He rested his forehead lightly against your stomach, his large hands cradling your sides with the utmost care, as though you might break.
"Dae-ho," you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion.
He didn't respond immediately, just stayed there, holding you as if you were the most fragile, precious thing in the world. After a moment, he tilted his head slightly, his cheek pressing against your belly. His warm breath fanned through the fabric of your shirt, and when he spoke, his voice was soft, tender, almost reverent.
"I can't believe it," he murmured, his gaze softening as it dropped to your stomach. He placed a hand there, his palm warm and loving. "There's a piece of us right here." You couldn't help but smile.
His voice was quiet when he spoke again, the words almost a prayer.
"Hey, little one," he murmured, his words directed at the life growing inside you. "It's me… your dad."
Your hands moved instinctively, threading through his hair. The soft strands slipped between your fingers, grounding you in this surreal moment. Dae-ho closed his eyes at your touch, leaning into it like a man starved for comfort.
"You probably can't hear me yet, but…," he continued, his voice trembling slightly, "I need you to be strong, okay? Just like your mom. And I promise,  I'm going to do everything I can to keep you two safe. You're my whole world now, you know that? Both of you."
A lump formed in your throat as tears pricked at the corners of your eyes. You hadn't expected this, this unfiltered love pouring from him. It made the weight of your circumstances feel both heavier and lighter at the same time.
"I bet you're going to be just like her," he said with a small chuckle, his hand gently rubbing your side. "Strong, smart, way too stubborn for your own good."
You let out a teary laugh, your fingers tightening in his hair. "Hey, don't encourage that."
He tilted his head back slightly, looking up at you with a crooked grin that melted your heart. "Can't help it. It's in the genes."
His gaze softened as he looked back at your stomach, and he pressed a gentle kiss to the fabric of your shirt, his lips lingering for a long moment. The action was so tender, so full of love, that it nearly brought you to your knees as well. He rested his forehead there again, his arms tightening around you.
"I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice breaking. "For everything. For not being there when you needed me. For making you feel like you had to do this alone."
"Dae-ho," you whispered, your own voice cracking as you cupped his face, guiding him to look up at you. "You're with us. That's all that matters."
He swallowed hard, nodding as his hands slid down to hold yours. "I swear to you, I'm not going anywhere. I'll fight through hell if I have to. I'll keep you safe, no matter what it takes."
The tears you'd been holding back finally spilled over, and you knelt down with him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you pressed your forehead against his.
"We'll survive this," he repeated softly, his breath warm against your temple. "And when we get out… we'll make a real life together. The three of us."
You hesitated, your heart hammering as you realized it was the moment to tell him. "Four," you said softly, your hand covering his where it rested protectively over your stomach.
His body stiffened slightly, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Four?" His voice was cautious, almost as if he were afraid to hope.
You nodded, your throat tightening as emotion swelled. "Before I came here, I had a doctor's appointment, and… we're having twins, Dae-ho."
The silence that followed was deafening, his stillness unnerving. For a moment, you worried you'd broken him, but then he slightly leaned back on his knees, his eyes wide and glassy as they searched yours.
"Twins?" he repeated, the word barely audible. His hand shifted, trembling slightly as it moved to cradle your stomach. He said nothing for a while, just staring at you as if trying to comprehend what you'd just revealed. His lips parted, a shaky exhale escaping as his thumb traced over the fabric covering your belly.
"Twins," he repeated again, this time with a mix of wonder and disbelief. "We're having twins?"
A small smile tugged at your lips, despite the tears streaming down your face. "Yes. I wasn't sure how to tell you… or when. But yeah. Two little ones."
His head dropped, forehead again pressing gently against your stomach as he let out a quiet, shaky laugh. His strong arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer. "Two," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "I don't know whether to cry or laugh."
Your fingers softly tucked a strand of hair away from his beautiful face, "You can do both," you said gently, "I did."
He tilted his head up to look at you, and the raw emotion in his eyes took your breath away. His lips curved into a faint smile, one that didn't quite hide the tears slipping down his cheeks. "Twins," he said again, shaking his head slightly. "I didn't even know how I was going to handle one. Now there are two of them. Two little… us."
The way he said it, so in awe, so full of wonder, made your chest ache. "I wasn't planning on telling you here," you admitted, "Not in this nightmare. But I couldn't… I couldn't keep it to myself anymore."
"I'm glad you didn't," he said, his voice steadying. He cupped your face, his thumbs brushing away the tears you didn't even realize had fallen. "No matter what happens in this hellhole, no matter how dark it gets, knowing they're waiting for us? It's everything."
You nodded, swallowing the lump in your throat. "Dae-ho, we can't let this place take us."
"It won't," he said firmly, his jaw tightening. "I won't let it. We'll make it. I'll make damn sure of it."
His hands slipped back down to your waist, his fingers splaying over your belly as though he could somehow shield the life growing inside you from the horrors outside. "Two little heartbeats," he murmured, his voice softening. "Do you know what that means?"
You tilted your head, a small smile playing on your lips. "What?"
"It means we're going to need twice the strength," his gaze locked with yours, "But it also means we've got twice the reason to fight. Twice the reason to win."
You leaned forward, your noses almost touching, your hands covering his on your stomach. "We'll do it together," you assured quietly. "The four of us."
"The four of us," he echoed, his lips brushing against yours in a kiss so tender it left you breathless. "You're stuck with me now. Forever."
You let out another teary laugh, the sound mingling with his soft chuckle. "I've been stuck with you for years, Dae-ho. And I wouldn't have it any other way."
For a moment, the world outside that room, the horrors of the games, didn't exist. It was just two lovers holding onto each other and the heartwarming hope bound on a fragile string of the future that was worth fighting for. You allowed yourselves to feel it, this unwavering love, this promising hope that had been buried beneath the fear. It wasn't much, but it was enough to remind you both why you were fighting, to survive, to protect, and to make it out of this nightmare as a family.
And whatever came next, you knew you wouldn't face it alone.

Forgiveness- Hwang Jun-Ho
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wearning: smut,+18
Request: yes!
The cabin of the ship was steeped in heavy silence, broken only by the sound of waves crashing against the hull. Jun Ho was hunched over his desk, studying a worn and annotated map, his jaw clenched, and his fingers tracing invisible paths toward the island he was so desperately trying to find.
You had entered the room quietly, but he hadn’t even turned around. For weeks, he had been distant, cold, a prisoner of his obsession with that island, and you had had enough.
“Jun Ho,” you called, your voice steady despite the lump tightening your throat. “We need to talk.”
“Not now,” he replied, without even looking up.“No, now,” you insisted, stepping closer. “You’ve been ignoring me for weeks. I see you destroying yourself over this mission, but what are you destroying in the process? Us?”
This time, he lifted his eyes to meet yours, the looks clashing like two waves colliding. “Don’t make this harder, Y/N. I don’t have the time or the energy for these pointless things.”
“Pointless?” you repeated, incredulous. “Really? Is that how you see me? As something pointless?”
Your voice cracked, but you didn’t stop. “You know what? I’m tired, Jun Ho. Tired of feeling invisible. If this is your priority, then maybe there’s no place for me in your life.”
Something shifted in his expression. His eyes darkened, his face contorted into an expression you had never seen before. He stood up abruptly, and before you could process what was happening, his hand rose and struck your cheek.
The slap left you stunned. The sting spread quickly across your skin, but it was nothing compared to the pain that pierced your heart.
Jun Ho froze, his hands trembling as he stared at you with an expression of pure horror. “Y/N…” he stammered, his voice breaking. “I… I didn’t mean to… God, I didn’t mean to…”
You stepped back, pressing a hand to your stinging cheek. You stared at him, heartbroken, unable to find the words.
“Y/N, please,” he begged, stepping closer. “I don’t know what came over me… I was blinded… I’m… I’m a monster.”
“Let me say that,” you hissed, tears filling your eyes. “Do you know what hurts the most, Jun Ho? It’s not this…” you gestured to your reddened cheek. “It’s knowing you lost control to the point of hurting me. That you’ve become someone I don’t even recognize anymore.”
He fell to his knees in front of you, his fists clenched, his eyes brimming with tears. “You’re right. I’m not myself anymore… but I can’t lose you, Y/N. Please, don’t leave me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
You shook your head, your breath shaky. “This isn’t something you need to say to me, Jun Ho. It’s something you need to say to yourself. You have to figure out who you are and who you want to be. I can’t help you fight your demons if you don’t even want to.”
The silence between you was deafening, broken only by his soft sobs. Finally, you turned and left him there, kneeling on the floor of the cabin, crushed under the weight of his guilt.
Jun-ho came to your cabin with a lost puppy face. "Hey baby" he murmurs softly. You were sitting on your bed, reading a book. At the sound of his voice, you lifted your gaze, and a mix of irritation and relief washed over you. Seeing him now, looking so defeated, the anger that had been burning inside you gradually faded, replaced by a sense of worry.
You set your book aside and turned to face him, folding your arms across your chest. "What do you want?" you asked, your voice flat.He gently walks over to you and sits on your bed. "I'm sorry baby" he whispers repentantly.
Your heart softened a little at his apology, but you didn't show it. "Sorry for what, exactly, Jun Ho?" you asked, continuing to maintain your guarded tone. Jun-ho fidgeted with a loose thread on the bedcovers, avoiding your gaze. "You know what for," he muttered quietly. "For... losing my temper. For... for hitting you."
You look at him carefully, sighing and not saying a word.He dared to lift his eyes to meet yours, and in that moment, you could see a mix of shame, regret, and fear in his gaze. He knew he had messed up, but he was also terrified of losing you.
He shifted awkwardly on the bed, his hands clenching and unclenching nervously. "I don't know what came over me," he continued, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was just so frustrated... and angry... and... I lost control."
You gently take his hand. "You need to unplug a bit, soon you won't even sleep anymore to find this damned island" you say softly tracing small relaxing circles on the palm of his hand.
A wave of relief washed over him as you took his hand, gently tracing calming circles on his palm. The touch of your fingertips was like a soothing balm, helping to unravel the knots of tension he'd been carrying within him.
Jun-Ho looked down at your hand on his, his expression riddled with guilt and vulnerability. "I know," he murmured, his voice slightly shaky. "But I can't just... stop. This island... it's all I think about. It's like an obsession."
You look at him softly and make him lie down by placing you on top of him and massaging his shoulders. "Love, I didn't say you had to stop, just a fear to relax" you say softly.
He let out a soft sigh as you pushed him gently to lie down, his body relaxing into the mattress. The massage that followed felt like a release, easing some of the tension that had built up in his shoulders. His eyes closed, and he allowed himself to relish in the touch of your hands on his body. "I... I don't know if I know how to relax anymore," he confessed, his voice so low it was barely audible.
You gently lower your face and kiss his neck softly. “I know how to make you relax love” he says softly and with a bit of seduction in his voice as you lick his neck.
He shivered under your touch, a mixture of pleasure and tension coursing through his body. The sensation of your tongue against his skin sent a jolt of electricity through him, igniting a familiar heat. Jun-Ho opened his eyes, his gaze darkened with a mix of yearning and vulnerability. "Y/N," he whispered, his voice hoarse. "If you keep this up, I won't be able to hold back..."
You smile at his words and nibble on his neck. “Good to know, love,” you say and grab his face to kiss him passionately. As your lips met in a fierce, passionate kiss, all the pent-up frustration and tension within him broke free. With a low growl, he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer. He deepened the kiss, his tongue tangling with yours in a desperate, hungry dance. His hands roamed over your body, gripping you tightly, as if trying to assure himself that you were really there, that you hadn't left him yet.
The room seemed to disappear as your bodies moved together in a heated frenzy. His hands moved with a sense of urgency, tugging at your clothes, needing to feel your skin against his.He broke the kiss, his breathing ragged, and trailed his lips down your neck. "Y/N," he gasped, his voice husky with desire. "I... I need you. I need you so much, it's driving me insane."
You smile at his words and nip at his jaw playfully. “It's okay love, remember that you have to make it up to me and this is your time” you tease, nipping at his neck.
He groaned at the mixture of pleasure and frustration. Your words and the feel of your teeth against his skin sent a thrill through him, but he also knew you were right.Jun-Ho placed his hands on your hips, gripping them firmly as he rolled over, switching positions. With a low rumble, he trapped you underneath his body, his eyes dark and burning.
"You're right," he grumbled, his voice filled with a combination of excitement and determination. "And I intend to make it up to you, in every single way."You smile at his words.
His lips found your neck again, and he started a trail of kisses down your throat, each one lingering a bit longer than the previous. His hands roamed over your body, exploring, caressing every curve, every inch of skin he could reach. He pushed the hem of your shirt up, his fingers tracing patterns across your stomach, leaving goosebumps in their wake. He gently bit the sensitive skin of your hip, his tongue soothing the pain away immediately after.
His lips returned to yours in a searing kiss, possessive and tender at the same time. He moved against you, grinding his hips into yours, creating a delicious friction that only fueled the flames of desire between you. With each movement, he communicated his need for you, his desperation to make things right. He tugged at your shirt again, his voice hoarse as he pleaded, "Take it off. Let me see you."
As your shirt slipped off, he took a moment to just look at you, his eyes roaming over your bare skin with an expression of reverence. "You're so beautiful," he whispered, his words a low, husky confession. His fingers traced over the curves of your body, mapping out every contour, his touch gentle yet tinged with a hint of possessiveness. He leaned down to place small, soft kisses along the path his hands had just taken.
He lingered over your stomach, his teeth lightly grazing your skin, his tongue tracing lazy circles. He could feel the shiver that rippled through your body at his touch, and it only fueled his own need. His hands moved to your hips, his grip firm but not painful. He leaned down and whispered against your ear, his voice rough and filled with desire. "I need you. Now."
His thumbs hooked into the waistband of your pants, and he gently started to pull them down, his eyes never leaving yours. He watched the excitement mixed with anticipation on your face, and he felt his own body react to it, his heart pounding, every muscle in his body taut with need.He continued to remove your pants, his movements slow and deliberate. Each new inch of skin revealed was like a revelation, and his hands seemed to trace a path of fire as they explored your now-exposed legs.Jun-ho knelt between your thighs, his hands resting on your hips, holding you in place. His gaze traveled up your body, his eyes filled with a possessive intensity that matched the primal need coursing through him.
He looked ready to devour you, the heat in his eyes matched by the rough edge to his voice."You're mine," he growled, his thumbs digging into your hips. "Every single part of you." Jun-ho leaned down, his lips barely touching your skin, sending another shiver through you. "And I'm going to show you exactly how much I need you, Y/N."
“Yes please” you murmur softly looking at him.He started a slow, torturous journey with his lips, trailing kisses along the inside of your thighs, moving closer to the place where you ached for him the most.
As he continued, he could feel your body responding to his touch, your breath becoming increasingly ragged, your hands clenching into the sheets. It was a dance of desire and power, and he was the master, knowing exactly how to make you tremble, how to bring you to the edge.
He chuckled softly at your gasps and moans, his breath hot against your skin. "You taste so good," he murmured, his voice filled with a mixture of pleasure and dominance. As he continued his slow, torturous assault, he knew he was driving you to the brink of madness. He wanted you to feel how much he needed you, how much he craved every inch of your body.
"Baby plaese" you murmured.Your words were like a plea, a desperate plea, and he couldn't resist it any longer. The sound of your voice, pleading and needy, was like a drug to him.
He lifted his head slightly, his gaze locking with yours. "Please what, love?" he asked, his voice thick with desire.
“I want more” you whisper longingly. He smiled slightly at your words, his eyes darkening with even more desire. He liked it when you pleaded, when you admitted how much you wanted him.
Jun-Ho shifted his position, moving up and pressing his body against yours, trapping you beneath him. "More, you say? What exactly do you want, love? I need to hear you say it."
“I want you to fuck me,” you whispered longingly as you gripped his shirt. His chest rumbled as a low, guttural moan escaped his lips at your words. His grip on you tightened, his fingers digging into your skin, leaving marks that would be evidence of his desire.
"As you wish, love," he growled in your ear. "But first, I have a request."You look at him carefully waiting for him to speak.
He paused, his gaze locked on yours, his breathing ragged. You could see the heat in his eyes, the desire burning within him.Jun-Ho lifted a hand to gently caress your cheek, his touch reverent as his voice dropped to a whisper. "I need to hear you say my name, love. When you're calling out, I need you to know who you belong to."
“I belong to you and only you Jun-Ho” you whisper softly caressing his chest. His breath hitched at your words, and a rush of possessiveness washed over him. The sound of his name on your lips, coupled with your declaration of belonging to him, sent a primal thrill through his body.
He leaned down and captured your lips in a fierce, passionate kiss, his tongue delving into your mouth, tasting and claiming you. He wanted to imprint himself on you, to make sure you knew that you were his and no one else’s.
You moaned into the kiss as you eagerly unbuttoned his jeans. His breath came in sharp, uneven gasps as your fingers worked on the buttons of his jeans. The feel of your hands against his skin, the way your body responded to his touch, it was enough to drive him wild.
He broke the kiss, his forehead resting against yours, his eyes darkened with a mix of desire and admiration. "You're impatient tonight, aren't you, love?" he teased between heavy breaths.
You nibble on his neck. "please baby, I want you inside me. It's been too long" you murmur longingly into his neck. His breath hitched as your lips found his neck, and he let out a guttural moan. He couldn't deny the truth in your words; it had been a long time since he'd been able to be close to you like this.
Jun-Ho tangled one hand in your hair, pulling you closer, his voice a low, hoarse rumble in your ear. "You're right, love," he murmured, his mouth against your skin. "It has been too long. I need you just as badly."
He kissed your neck, then gently pushed you down onto the bed, hovering above you. His hands ran over your body, his touch both tender and possessive, his restraint hanging by a thread."I've missed touching you so much," he breathed against your skin. "Feeling you underneath me. Hearing the sounds you make."
You moan and arch into him. “please baby, come inside me, I need it” you murmur, taking off his boxers. The sound of your pleading words and the feel of your body arching into him was almost too much to bear. His control was slipping, his desire taking over.
With a low, hoarse murmur he complied with your request, discarding his boxers completely. He positioned himself between your legs, his breaths coming in harsh, ragged gasps."You drive me completely wild, love," he growled, his voice rough with need. "I can't resist when you make those sounds, when you're begging me like that. It's what I need too.
You moan and move with him as you place your lips on him kissing him. “Always soo deep” you murmur moaning between kisses. He groaned as you wrapped around him, pulling him deeper into your heat. His mind was drowning in a sea of pleasure, every nerve in his body on fire as he moved with you.
With every kiss, every touch, he lost more control, the desire pulsating between you two becoming more intense. He couldn’t get enough of you, of how you made him feel, of how you made him want you even more.“You feel so good, love,” he growled against your lips, his voice ragged and filled with need.
You moan feeling him increase his thrusts. He pressed deeper into you, each thrust a little rougher, his need for you increasing with every passing moment. He moved against you, a primal rhythm taking over, his breath coming in labored gasps against your skin.He could feel every part of you, every contour and curve, and it was driving him crazy. His hands roamed over your body, his touch becoming more urgent, trying to get as close to you as possible.
"You're incredible," he breathed, his voice thick with desire. "You make me feel things I've never felt before, and I can't get enough of you."
His head dropped down to your shoulder, his breath hot against your skin as he continued to move with you. He was close, so close to losing himself completely. He lifted his head up slightly, his eyes finding yours, his gaze burning into you. "I don't ever want this to end," he whispered, his voice rough and filled with a raw honesty. "Just me and you, like this, forever."
You nod and kiss him again. Jun-Ho's thrusts became more and more animalistic, bringing both of them to the limit. The kiss between you was intense and frenzied, a testament to the need you both felt for one another. Every breath, every touch, was filled with a raw, primal desire.
His thrusts became more urgent, his control completely shattered now. He was lost in the feel of you, in the sound of your breathless moans and the way you gripped him, pulling him deeper into you."I can't hold on much longer, love," he managed to gasp out between harsh breaths. "You feel too good".
You moan at his words and nip at his neck. “Baby, I'm about to come,” you murmur. His breaths against your skin grew more ragged, his movements more erratic. He was on the edge, his whole body coiled tight like a spring, ready to snap.
The sound of your voice, the words you spoke, pushed him even closer to the brink. “That's it, love,” he grunted against your neck, his voice rough and needy. “Come for me. I need to feel you."
You moan feeling his thrusts getting harder and harder, drilling inside you and you came screaming his name. You bit his shoulder to keep from screaming too much.
Your scream of ecstasy and the feel of your teeth on his skin sent him over the edge. He was completely undone, his control shattered. He shuddered against you, his body tensing as his own release overtook him. He groaned loudly, his fingers digging into your hips, holding you tightly against him.
For a few moments, the only sound in the room was the ragged breaths you both tried to regain control of. He collapsed next to you, pulling you tightly into his arms, his head resting on your chest."You drive me absolutely wild," he murmured against your skin, still trying to catch his breath.
You smiled as you tried to catch your breath and hugged him softly while he was still buried inside you. "Are you feeling better?" You whisper softly.
He leaned into your touch, his body still humming with the aftermath of pleasure. He couldn’t help but smile at your question, the simple words having so much meaning behind them. Jun-ho pulled you closer, his arms wrapping tighter around you as he rested his head against your chest. "I think feeling better is an understatement," he replied, his voice still slightly breathless.
He paused, then added, "But being here, like this, with you...it's exactly what I needed."You smile softly at his words and kiss his jaw. "I love you".
He closed his eyes, his smile growing wider as you kissed his jaw. The feel of your lips on his skin, the sound of your voice, it filled him with a profound sense of contentment and peace."I love you too," he replied, the words leaving his lips easily and wholeheartedly. "More than anything in this world."
I smiled and hugged him even tighter. You stayed snuggled up all night ignoring for once the problems around you.

hwang jun-ho x pregnant!reader
the policeman is excited for his daughter to arrive
Tumblr media
warnings: birth
this is a continuation and part two to this
Tumblr media
it all starts late at night, just as you’re getting ready to climb into bed.
you’ve showered, slipped into your comfiest satin nightgown, and are looking forward to finally getting some rest.
jun-ho is already under the covers, scrolling through his phone while waiting for you.
just as you move to sit on the bed, you feel an unexpected sensation.
at first, you freeze, wondering if you’ve accidentally peed yourself.
this has happened before, due to your daughter using your bladder as a soccer ball.
the thought of it happening again makes your cheeks heat with embarrassment.
“uh… jun-ho?”
you say hesitantly, your voice barely above a whisper.
your partner's head snaps up immediately, his protective instincts kicking in.
“what’s wrong? are you okay?”
he’s already moving to sit up, concern etched into his features.
you glance down at yourself and mumble,
“i think… i think my water just broke.” the words feel strange to say, and you can’t help but feel a little self-conscious.
jun-ho blinks a few times, processing what you’ve just said. then his lips curl into a small, excited smile that he’s clearly trying to suppress.
“really? are you sure?” he asks, but he’s already reaching for the hospital bag that’s been packed for weeks.
you nod, still feeling a little flustered.
“yeah, i’m pretty sure. i mean, i didn’t feel any pain, but—” you trail off, looking at the growing damp spot on your nightgown.
“okay, okay, no need to worry,”
jun-ho says, his voice calm but laced with excitement.
he places a reassuring hand on your lower back, then gently guides you to sit down on the edge of the bed.
“let’s get you changed first, and then we’ll head to the hospital. our girl’s on her way.”
as you change into clean clothes, with the help of jun-ho.. the man hurries around the room, triple-checking the hospital bag, your phone, chargers, snacks, and anything else you might need.
you can tell he’s trying to stay composed, but the way he fumbles with the zipper on the bag gives away his excitement.
once you’re ready, he helps you into the car.
during the drive, you start to feel mild contractions. they’re not too bad yet, but jun-ho keeps glancing at you every few minutes, asking,
“how are you feeling? do you need anything? want me to play some music?”
you laugh softly, despite the growing discomfort.
“i’m fine, jun-ho. just focus on driving. i’d rather not give birth in the car.”
at the hospital, jun-ho is by your side every step of the way. he holds your hand tightly as the nurses check you in, offering comforting words and even cracking a small joke to lighten the mood.
“guess i’ll finally get to see if all those birthing classes paid off.”
as your contractions intensify, jun-ho stays calm and steady, never letting go of your hand. he rubs your back during the worst of it, whispering,
“you’re doing amazing, y/n. she’s so lucky to have you as her mom.”
hours pass, and jun-ho barely leaves your side. even when you’re tired and in pain, he keeps encouraging you, telling you how strong you are and how proud he is of you.
"you're doing so well, sweetheart."
when your contractions start getting stronger, jun-ho immediately shifts into “coach mode,” even though he’s never officially done this before.
he sits beside you, holding your hand tightly, and says,
“okay, y/n, remember to breathe. in through your nose, out through your mouth..just like we practiced.”
during a particularly intense contraction, just when you're seven centimeters dilated.. you grip his hand hard enough to make him wince, but he doesn’t say a word about it.
he's faced worst while being a detective.
instead, he rubs soothing circles on your back with his other hand, murmuring,
“you’re so strong, y/n. you’ve got this. just focus on breathing, one step at a time.”
every time the nurse comes in to check on you, jun-ho listens attentively, nodding as if he’s taking mental notes.
afterward, he turns to you and explains everything in a calm, steady voice, making sure you’re not overwhelmed.
“okay, so it sounds like you’re dilating really well. that means we’re getting closer. just a little more, and we’ll meet her.”
at one point, he notices you’re getting tense and you start clenching your jaw during a contraction.
“hey, relax your shoulders,” he says gently, placing his hands on them and giving them a light squeeze.
“it’ll help with the pain. you’re doing amazing, y/n.”
when you start to doubt yourself.. you start to cry,
“i don’t think i can do this,”
jun-ho immediately shakes his head and cups your face with both hands.
“yes, you can. you’ve already come so far. you’re the strongest person i know, y/n, and you’re not doing this alone. i’m right here with you.”
between contractions, he keeps you distracted by cracking small jokes.
“if she’s as stubborn as you, it’s no wonder she’s taking her time coming out.”
when you glare at him, he grins and adds,
“but stubbornness is a good thing. she’ll be tough, like her mom.”
when it’s time to start pushing, jun-ho positions himself right by your side, holding one of your legs and encouraging you with every push.
“you’re doing it, y/n. just a little more. you’re so close. i’m so proud of you.”
at one point, you grab the collar of his shirt in frustration during a particularly difficult push.. the ring of fire as doctors put it.
instead of panicking, he stays calm and says,
“that’s it, take it out on me. you can yell at me all you want..just keep going. you’re amazing, y/n."
the moment your daughter is born, just after three hours of pushing.. jun-ho’s eyes fill with tears. he looks at her, then at you, and his voice trembles as he says,
“she’s perfect. you did it, y/n.”
when the nurse places your baby girl in your arms, jun-ho leans in close, his arm wrapped around your shoulders as you both look at her in awe.
“welcome to the world, little one,”
your man whispers, his voice full of love.
even as exhausted as you are, you can see the way jun-ho can’t stop smiling. he keeps glancing between you and your daughter, like he can’t believe how lucky he is to have both of you.
later, as the three of you settle in for some quiet time, jun-ho gently brushes his fingers over your daughter’s tiny hand.
“she’s got your nose,” he says softly, leaning in to kiss your forehead.
"thank you for being the best."
you mumble, tired from the pushing.
“thank you, y/n. for everything. i love you so much.”
"I love you too."
you watch him as he carefully cradles your daughter, talking to her in a soft, soothing voice about how much he’s been waiting to meet her.
in that moment, you know your little family is already filled with so much love.

The First Kick
Tumblr media
Squid Game Master list The sun was low in the sky, casting a warm, golden light over the city. Jun Ho sat in his office, the files in front of him a stark contrast to the vibrant world outside. He was always buried in paperwork, and though it felt monotonous at times, it was his job—his responsibility. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing as he looked at his phone for the tenth time in an hour. There were a few messages from you, but he hadn’t gotten the chance to respond yet. His heart softened whenever he saw your name flash on the screen, but he knew that if he kept replying, he’d get caught up in the warmth of your words and not finish his work.
It wasn’t long before his phone buzzed again, this time with a call. Your name lit up the screen, and his heart skipped.
“Hey,” he answered, his voice tinged with a quiet warmth.
“Jun Ho,” your voice was soft, but there was an undeniable excitement there. “You’re not busy, right?”
“I’m never too busy for you,” he replied, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he glanced at his colleagues, who were all focused on their own work.
“I think the baby just kicked,” you said, breathless with joy. “I swear I felt it. It was tiny, but it’s the first time I’ve felt it. It’s real, Jun Ho.”
His breath caught in his throat. He hadn’t expected this. He was used to being the one who did the protecting, the one who made things happen, but hearing your voice, filled with wonder and joy, made him realize that there was something bigger than anything he had ever faced.
“You felt it?” he asked, his voice suddenly tight. “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” you said, giggling a little. “I swear. I thought it was just gas at first, but it wasn’t. It’s like a little tap, right in the middle of my belly. Our baby. I can’t believe it.”
Jun Ho closed his eyes for a moment, trying to absorb the flood of emotions that overwhelmed him. The baby. Their baby. Their child was growing inside you, and it was real. More real than anything he had ever imagined.
“Hold on,” he said quickly, standing up from his desk and grabbing his jacket. His colleagues barely looked up as he walked briskly past them. “I’m coming home.”
“Wait, Jun Ho,” you said, your voice softer now, almost teasing. “Don’t rush. You’re at work—”
“I’m leaving,” he cut you off, his voice decisive. “I’ll be there in twenty minutes. Just hold on.”
He didn’t wait for a response, ending the call and heading out the door. His heart was racing—not out of anxiety, but out of excitement. The baby had kicked. The baby. He had heard you talk about it before, but hearing you actually experience it was different. It was something visceral, something real. And now, he couldn’t wait to hold you, to touch your belly and feel the life inside you.
Jun Ho barely noticed the ride home. He was lost in thought, his mind replaying the moment you had described, imagining what it would have been like to be there. He could picture you—sitting in the living room, hand resting on your stomach, eyes wide with wonder as you experienced the first real sign of their child’s presence. The thought made his chest tighten. How had he gotten so lucky?
When he arrived home, he practically rushed to the door, fumbling with the keys before finally getting it open. The moment he stepped inside, he saw you sitting on the couch, looking up at him with an expectant smile.
“Jun Ho, you didn’t have to—”
“I had to,” he said, dropping his jacket on the chair and kneeling in front of you. His eyes softened as he reached for your hands, gently lifting them to his lips and pressing a kiss to each palm. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there for the first kick. But I’m here now. I’m not missing anything else.”
You smiled at him, your heart swelling with affection. “I was thinking about you. I wanted you to be here when it happened.”
He reached for your belly, his hands trembling just slightly. He had never thought of himself as the emotional type, but there was something about the life growing inside you that made him feel things he couldn’t put into words. He leaned his forehead against your stomach, his hands resting on either side, and he closed his eyes.
“What’s it like?” he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
“It’s… hard to explain,” you said, your voice full of wonder. “It’s like a flutter. Like someone’s poking you from the inside. But it’s not painful. It’s just… amazing.”
He nodded, as though he could feel it too. He wanted to experience that connection with the child—his child—just as deeply as you did. His hand moved gently over your belly, his touch tender and reverent.
You watched him with a fond smile, feeling a warmth spread through you at the sight of him. His eyes were closed, but he looked so peaceful, so focused. It was rare for Jun Ho to let his guard down like this, but you could tell that this moment meant everything to him.
Then, just as you were about to speak, you felt another small flutter beneath your skin. It was subtle, but unmistakable. You gasped, your eyes widening. “Jun Ho, it’s happening again!”
His eyes snapped open, his expression intense. He quickly placed his hand over the spot where he’d felt the first kick earlier, waiting. His heartbeat seemed to match the rhythm of yours, his hand tense with anticipation.
And then, it came. A tiny but unmistakable tap against his palm.
He froze. His hand pressed against you more firmly, and he leaned in closer, as if to reassure himself that it was real. His eyes were wide, filled with amazement. “I felt it. I felt it!”
You laughed softly, a tear escaping from the corner of your eye. “I told you.”
Jun Ho looked at you, his expression softening. There was a depth to his gaze, a rawness that made you feel like he saw right through you. He wasn’t just looking at you, but at the life you two had created together.
He gently kissed your belly, his lips brushing over the spot where their child had just kicked. “I’m so proud of you,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “I’m proud of both of you.”
Tears welled in your eyes as you gazed down at him, at the man who had always been your protector, your rock—and now, the father of your child. “We’re going to be a family, Jun Ho,” you said, your voice breaking with emotion. “A real family.”
He nodded, his eyes glistening as he stood up and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close. “I’ll do whatever it takes,” he said quietly. “For you. For our family.”
And for the first time in what felt like a long time, Jun Ho allowed himself to truly feel. He wasn’t just a police officer or an investigator—he was a husband, soon-to-be father, and in this moment, that meant everything.
The baby kicked again, a gentle tap, as if to say, I'm here, too.
Jun Ho smiled, pressing his hand against your belly once more. This was just the beginning. And he couldn’t wait to experience it all with you by his side.

word count: 5k (oopsi, but you'll love it, promise <3)
Tumblr media
You loved Dae-ho. You loved him with a depth that words could scarcely capture, and he, in turn, made sure you could hear it in his voice, see it in his eyes, and feel it in every touch just how deeply he loved you. But sometimes, even love was not enough, for love could not fill an empty stomach or silence the relentless ticking of overdue clocks. With each passing day, the small apartment you shared with Dae-ho felt colder and emptier, despite him always being there. The weight of your mutual debts loomed over every conversation, every glance, every touch.
You noticed how he'd come home later and later, his shoulders hunched as if the world rested entirely on them. He stopped smiling as much, and when he did, it didn't reach his eyes. You were no better. Your sleepless nights had you pacing, worrying over bills, debt collectors, and the way his kind heart made him try to fix everything for you, even at his own expense. You made the decision after a particularly brutal encounter with a debt collector. They'd come to your apartment, banging on the door, shouting threats. Dae-ho had stood between you and the door, his body rigid with tension as he told them to leave. That night, as he slept fitfully beside you, you stared at the ceiling, your heart breaking. You couldn't let him do this anymore, couldn't let him sacrifice himself for you, he deserved better.
That's why you found yourself remembering those exact thoughts while you were having dinner late at night. The small kitchen felt stifling, the hum of the fridge and the faint ticking of the wall clock amplifying the silence. You'd spent days rehearsing this moment, but now, as Dae-ho sat across from you, his familiar features etched with exhaustion and quiet hope, the words felt impossible.
But you had to say them. You had to let him go.
"We need to talk," your voice was firmer than you felt. Your heart raced, but your face remained a mask of composure.
He looked up from his bowl of rice, chopsticks hovered mid-air, his brows furrowing. "What's wrong?"
"I think..." You paused, the words catching in your throat. "I think we need to end this."
The chopsticks clattered onto the table, the sound startling in the quiet room. He stared at you, disbelief etched into every line of his face. "What are you talking about?"
"I'm saying this isn't working anymore," you said, gripping the edge of the table so hard your knuckles turned white. "We're holding each other back, Dae-ho. I can't do this anymore."
His eyes darkened, his voice low and trembling, "Holding each other back? Is that what you think this is? After everything we've been through?"
"You're drowning because of me," your voice cracking. Tears blurred your vision, but you didn't let them fall. "I can't let you destroy yourself trying to fix things for me."
"You think this is about you?" he asked, his tone rising. "You think my problems magically go away if you're not here? That's not true, and you know it. Don't do this. Don't push me away."
You couldn't meet his gaze, your fingers trembling as they dug into the table. "I'm doing this for you," you whispered, barely audible.
"No," his chair scraped loudly against the floor as he stood abruptly, his voice breaking, "You're doing this to me."
Frustrated, you stood up too, "I've watched you work yourself to death for me," your voice rising to meet his, "Every time something goes wrong, you're there, trying to fix it, trying to shoulder everything! I can't let you do that anymore!"
"You think I care about that?" he shouted, his hands slamming onto the table. His voice cracked as he added, "I want to carry it! I'd do anything for you, because you're- you're everything to me!"
Your chest tightened, his words hitting like a punch to the gut. "And what about you? What happens when you break under the weight of it all? Then what? I can't stand the thought of being the reason you-"
"You're not the reason for anything!" he yelled, his voice raw. "The debt, the stress, it's all mine. Don't you dare blame yourself for this."
"But it's not just yours anymore!" you shouted, tears finally streaming down your face. "It became mine the moment we decided to do this together. And that's why I have to leave. Because I'm holding you back, and you're holding me back, and we'll destroy each other if this keeps going!"
He stepped back as if you'd struck him, his hands falling limply to his sides. His voice, once so loud, now came out as a whisper. "You don't mean that."
"I do," you lied, your heart breaking with every word. "I don't see a future for us anymore, Dae-ho."
The silence that followed was deafening, the weight of your words sinking into the space between you. His jaw clenched, his eyes glistening as he struggled to keep his composure.
"If this is what you want," he said finally, his voice shaking, "then fine. But don't pretend this is for me. This is your choice. Own it."
You turned away, biting your lip to keep from sobbing. "I'm sorry," you whispered, your voice barely audible.
And with that, you just left in the middle of the night, bags already prepared beforehand, your heart shattering with every step. The sound of the door closing behind you was louder than it should have been, echoing in your chest like the final nail in a coffin.
Alone in the now-silent kitchen, Dae-ho sank into his chair, his hands trembling as they gripped the edge of the table. He stared at your empty seat, the half-eaten bowl of rice in front of him a stark reminder of your presence just minutes ago.
The tears he'd held back began to fall, silent and unrelenting, as he whispered into the empty room, "You're wrong. You're not holding me back... you're everything I need."
Years passed, three, to be exact, and you hadn't heard from Dae-ho since the day you parted ways. Sometimes, especially in those first months after the breakup, you found yourself longing for him with an intensity that felt unbearable. So many times, you wanted to call him, just to hear his voice, to tell him about your day, to ask how work had been, or even something as simple as what he wanted for dinner. Too often, you'd thought about taking a detour just to walk past his neighborhood, unannounced, clinging to the faint hope of catching a fleeting glimpse of him. But you knew it was for the best, his best.
People always said time heals all wounds, but that wasn't true. Time doesn't heal anything, it doesn't mend, it doesn't fix. All time does is teach you how to live with the weight of what's broken. And despite the years that had passed, you still yearned for him in the quiet moments, still missed him like a phantom ache. You'd come to accept the sheer vastness of Seoul, its endless streets and countless faces, and resigned yourself to the thought that you'd probably never cross paths with Dae-ho again, not by chance, not by fate, not ever.
That's why you were utterly stunned when you found yourself standing in the expansive arena looking straight at him, surrounded by strangers in identical green tracksuits in the midst of a nightmare. The doll's haunting song, the sound of gunfire, and the smell of blood filling the air, it was pure chaos. Some of them were already lying lifeless on the ground, their blood pooling beneath them. Your heart pounded violently in your chest, fear coursing through your veins as you tried to process what you'd gotten yourself into. And even more importantly—
He was here.
Dae-ho stood to your right, a few feet diagonally in front of you. His broad shoulders were tense, his stance alert as his eyes scanned the room with an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine. His hair was slightly longer now, tied in a half-up, half-down style, and his face carried a weariness that hadn't been there before, a hard edge born of time and struggle. But there was no mistaking him. It was him. Dae-ho.
During the whole cursed red light, green light game, you couldn't stop glancing at him. He was strong and steady, helping a few others stay calm and focused as the horror doll's eerie song echoed through the air. Among the chaos and panic, Player 456 stood out. His voice rang out over the trembling murmurs of the other players, guiding them on when to move and when to freeze.
You barely survived, your legs trembling as you crossed the finish line. Relief washed over you, not just from the sheer fact that you were still alive, but also because 456's instructions had kind of anchored you when panic threatened to take over. And even then, your eyes sought him out. Dae-ho. Relief flooded you again when you saw he'd made it too, his chest heaving, his gaze scanning the crowd as if looking for someone. As if looking for you.
You were certain, however, that he hadn't seen you, and you made sure it stayed that way for as long as possible.
It surprised you later when he pressed O during the voting. Your chest tightened. Because after witnessing the pure horror of the first game, you had immediately pressed X to quit and leave this place. The idea of staying in a place like this was unthinkable. That's why you had assumed Dae-ho would have done the same.
Why would he want to stay? Did he care so little about his life now?
And the worst part? With just one single vote tipping the majority, the games continued.
You made yourself invisible. First, to keep all the unpleasant people at bay, and second, because you simply weren't ready to face him. For now, you stuck close to an older woman and her son, Player 149 and Player 007. At the same time, you watched Dae-ho from a distance as he spoke with Player 456, the former winner of the games, as you had just learned. You owed him your second reprieve, too, his speech during the voting had drawn all the attention to himself. Dae-ho spent his time with him, as well as with Player 001 and Player 390. It seemed he had already found his group.
Watching him from afar, you couldn't help but notice how he still carried that same kindness, that same strength that had made you fall in love with him. But the game of hide-and-seek came to an end the next day when the second game forced you to split into groups. Before you even realized it, your group was already at the front of the line. You were all bound together, each of you tasked with completing a series of mini-games and needing to cross the finish line within five minutes. Otherwise, you would be mercilessly shot in front of the other players, as had happened with the group before yours.
Just seconds earlier, you had been watching Dae-ho as he practiced his Gonggi part, stretching his wrist. Despite the grotesque circumstances, it brought a fleeting smile to your face. For a brief moment, you saw the carefree, boyish Dae-ho you used to know. The one who tirelessly worked with his group, lifting their spirits and even helping a young woman with the number 222 (according to Geum-ja, she was pregnant, and you could see it). It somehow hurt to see him like this, still trying to be a savior even when he had nothing left to give.
When his eyes finally found yours, he froze. For a moment, the noise and chaos around you faded, and it was just the two of you, staring at each other across the room as the guards bound your leg to that of your teammate.
By some miracle, your team won the second game. If that wasn't a sign from the heavens, you didn't know what else could be. You had been the clear underdogs from the start. Even while preparing, you'd overheard some of the men muttering amongst themselves, convinced your team was doomed. "They'll definitely bite the dust," one of them had sneered.
But when the red tape of the finish line snapped, the room erupted into cheers. Not because they liked you so much, but because they thought, If they can survive this, we'll surely survive as well. It was obvious they'd written your group off; a fragile old woman, her aimless son, a timid girl who barely spoke, a trans player still finding her footing, and you. Yet somehow, against all odds, you had crossed that finish line together.
Your heart raced as your eyes instinctively searched for Dae-ho. Across the room, he stood among his team, his gaze locked on you. For a moment, it looked like he was about to rush toward you, arms open, ready to pull you into a celebratory embrace. Your chest tightened, and you quickly turned back to your team, reminding yourself to keep your distance.
You threw yourself into the moment instead, hugging your teammates as the guards ushered you five out of the room.
Back in the dormitory, time stretched unbearably. With every passing minute, your nerves grew more frayed. Dae-ho hadn't returned.
At first, you rationalized it. The early groups were expected to be back sooner. But as the tenth, eleventh, twentieth, and even fortieth group arrived without him, dread started to creep in. What if he hadn't made it? What if someone in his group had messed up? What if, God forbid, his body was already being wheeled away, zipped into one of those cold black coffins with a mocking pink bow?
The thought sent a shudder through you, and you shook your head, forcing it away. You couldn't let yourself go there. Not yet.
Just as you felt the edges of panic begin to take hold, the doors finally opened one last time. There he was, walking in with the final group, his face glowing with triumph. That familiar grin spread across his face, and he looked as though the weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
A breath you hadn't realized you were holding escaped in a rush, leaving you lightheaded with relief. For a moment, everything else faded, your fear, your doubts, the shadows of this hellish game. All that mattered was that he was safe, still standing, still him.
Of course, the games continued the next day. This time, the vote wasn't even close, over a dozen more people chose to keep playing. You were doomed to continue these death games. And yet, a small part of you was relieved to see an X on Dae-ho's chest. That didn't mean you stopped avoiding him, oh no, you were still committed to that strategy. Every time you felt he might be getting close, you darted in the opposite direction, struck up a quick conversation with someone nearby, rushed toward the bathroom, or climbed into your top bunk and pulled the blanket over yourself, determined to make it clear he shouldn't approach you. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't shake the way your chest ached every time you saw him.
Was it childish? Most definitely. Was it foolish? Probably. Did it accomplish anything? You didn't even know. All you knew was that you weren't ready to face him, not yet. You weren't ready to confront the flood of emotions, the pain, and the memories that his presence would bring. What good would it do to talk to him now?
And so, the third game arrived. You prayed silently that it would finally be the last.
The circular room you stood in was overwhelming. The massive, spinning platform in the center loomed ominously, while the 50 numbered rooms along the walls felt impossibly distant. The air was thick with tension, players murmuring nervously as the female voice explained the rules.
Your heart pounded as you stepped onto the platform, your eyes scanning the crowd instinctively, and landing on him. Dae-ho was standing on the opposite end, his arms crossed as he took in the rules. His jaw was set, his expression unreadable, but you knew him well enough to sense the tension radiating from him.
You tore your eyes away, trying to focus. Stay sharp. Survive.
The platform began to spin, a hauntingly cheerful tune playing as you stood rigidly in place. When it stopped, the display above flashed a number: 10.
Panic erupted as players scrambled to form groups. You grabbed Hyun-ju, Geum-ja, Yong-sik, and Young-mi, holding onto them tightly as the timer began ticking down, and you only vaguely noticed as your group joined another group of five. Together, you pushed your way into a room, barely making it inside before the doors sealed shut.
Breathing heavily, you looked up only to see that across the room, Dae-ho stood with his group. 456, 390, 001, 222. No way. Dae-ho's eyes locked onto yours almost instantly, the proximity between you both the closest it had been in years.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly, stepping toward you. His voice carried that familiar warmth, even undercut by tension.
The words froze you for a moment. You hadn't expected him to speak to you directly, and certainly not with such concern. "I'm fine," you managed, your voice steady even as your hands tightened into fists at your sides. "We made it."
Before he could say more, Hyun-ju intervened, and you inwardly thanked her for that. "We're all fine," she said sharply, though not unkindly. Her eyes flicked between you and Dae-ho, clearly assessing the unspoken tension. "Let's focus on staying that way."
The room settled into an uneasy silence as the timer reset. You kept your distance, stealing occasional glances at Dae-ho as he conferred not only with his group, but also with your group. He still had that same steady energy, guiding Player 222 to sit down on the ground with a reassuring tone and helpful hand. It sent a pang through you, a strange mix of admiration, longing, jealousy, and bitterness.
Once the doors opened, you couldn't wait to leave it as soon as possible and be back on the platform. You exhaled, ignoring the bloodbath on the ground and waiting for the next round to begin.
"Still avoiding me, huh?" Dae-ho's low voice came from behind you, startling you slightly. You turned your head just enough to see him standing there, his gaze unreadable.
"I'm not avoiding you," you lied, crossing your arms defensively. "There are just... a lot of people here."
"Right," he said, his tone carrying the faintest trace of sarcasm. He stepped closer, lowering his voice even further to avoid drawing attention. "You didn't even look at me back in there. I'm not stupid."
You glanced quickly toward the others slowly and exhaustedly taking their places on the platform. No one was paying attention to you.
"What do you want, Dae-ho?" you asked quietly, keeping your voice even.
"I just want to know how you're doing," he said, his tone softening. "You're here, in this mess, and... it's not like I don't care."
The sincerity in his voice made your stomach twist. You turned fully to face him, your arms still crossed. "Why does it matter? You should focus on your group. They need you."
He studied you for a moment, his expression still unreadable. "And you don't?"
"I didn't say that," you said quickly, then shook your head, frustrated at yourself for engaging. "I'm fine, Dae-ho. I can take care of myself."
He exhaled softly, his eyes searching yours. "You don't have to."
The words hung between you, heavy and unspoken. For a moment, the room felt smaller, quieter. Just then, the platform beneath your feet began to rumble softly, the motion sudden and disorienting as it started to spin again. The unexpected movement threw you off balance, and you instinctively reached out, your hand brushing against his chest before you could steady yourself again. Dae-ho's hand moved as well out of reflex, hovering near you, but he hesitated, his fingers curling back before he touched you.
Everyone focused on regaining their footing, the air heavy with anticipation. No one spoke now. All eyes turned to the display above, waiting for the next number to be announced. The tension thickened, each second dragging as the platform continued to spin, the haunting melody playing once again.
Your pulse quickened, the unease growing. You stole one last glance at Dae-ho, but his attention was already on the display, his jaw set, his posture steady despite the shifting ground beneath him.
And then, the platform stopped, the number flashing ominously on the screen. 4.
Your heart sank as you realized you'd have to split off from your current group. Geum-ja and Yong-sik clung to each other immediately, and Hyun-ju put a protective hand on Young-mi's shoulder. Before anyone could ask what you'd do, you took a step back.
"I'll find another group," you said quickly, avoiding their gazes.
Hyun-ju frowned but nodded. "Be careful," she said, her tone laced with suspicion.
You didn't wait for anyone to say more, darting into the fray, hurrying to put as much distance between Dae-ho and yourself. You managed to gather three strangers, players who looked just desperate enough not to question you, as you secured a room in time. The door sealed shut behind you, and for a brief moment, you let out a shaky breath, pretending that the tightness in your chest wasn't from leaving him behind again.
By the final round, only 126 players remained. The platform spun for what felt like an eternity before stopping abruptly. The number on the display flashed: 2.
The room erupted into chaos. People sprinted, shoving and clawing at each other in desperation. You froze, your mind blank as you scanned the crowd. Panic blurred your thoughts, the timer ticking down far too fast.
Until you saw him.
Dae-ho was weaving through the throng of people, his movements sharp and precise. Before you could think twice, he turned, his eyes meeting yours. For a second, everything else faded, the noise, the chaos, the rising panic. It was just him, standing there, staring at you as though time had stopped.
But then he moved, closing the distance between you in two quick strides. Before you could react, his hand wrapped firmly around your wrist, and he pulled you toward the nearest room.
"Come on!" he barked, his tone urgent but unyielding.
The two of you ran, weaving through the crowd as the timer ticked dangerously close to zero. You barely registered the other players anymore, your entire focus on the warmth of his hand and the steady pull of his grip.
The door slammed shut behind you just as the timer hit zero. You collapsed against the wall, your chest heaving as you struggled to catch your breath. Dae-ho stood across from you, his gaze burning into yours as the silence stretched between you.
"We need to talk," he said finally, his voice low but firm.
You stared at him, your mind racing, unsure of whether to run again or finally face the storm you had spent so long avoiding.
The silence felt heavier than the air in the room, pressing down on your chest as if daring you to speak first. You remained frozen, your back against the cold wall, your mind racing with every reason to avoid this conversation. But Dae-ho didn't move. His gaze was unwavering, cutting through your defenses like a blade.
"You've been running from me since the moment I saw you," he said, his voice quiet but laced with frustration. "And I'm tired of pretending I don't notice."
You opened your mouth to argue, to deny it, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, you dropped your gaze, focusing on the floor beneath you, the slight tremor in your legs a reminder of just how close you'd come to death moments ago.
"You don't understand," you muttered finally, your voice barely audible.
"Then make me understand," he shot back, his tone sharper now. He stepped closer, the weight of his presence making it impossible to look anywhere else but at him. "You think I'm just going to ignore you? Pretend like you're not here? Like I don't-" He stopped himself, his jaw tightening as if he were physically restraining the words.
He sighed, his tone softening. "Seeing you here, in this place… Do you have any idea what that's been like for me?"
You swallowed hard, your chest tightening as his words sank in. "I didn't ask you to follow me here," you whispered, the words cutting even as you said them.
"I didn't follow you," he replied, the intensity in his voice making you flinch. "I didn't even know you were here until I saw you during that second game. And if I had-" He stopped again, running a hand through his hair. "If I had, I would've never pressed O. We would've walked out right then. Only one vote decided to quit or continue the games. My vote."
The rawness in his voice made your stomach twist. You forced yourself to look at him, and for the first time, you saw the exhaustion etched into his features, the weight he'd been carrying, the same weight you'd been trying to run from.
"Then why didn't you quit when you had the chance? Why do you blame me for your own vote?" you asked, your tone sharper than you intended.
"I don't blame you. It's just… if you weren't here, I'd have nothing to lose," he admitted, his voice dropping. "I thought if I won, I could fix what I broke. What we broke."
You blinked at him, your heart pounding. "You mean, what I broke."
"Stop saying that," he said, his voice rising slightly. "Stop taking the blame for something we both had a hand in. I made mistakes, too, and you leaving, it didn't fix anything. It just made it worse."
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them away, refusing to let them fall. "You don't know what it was like," you said quietly. "Watching you work yourself to death, trying to fix everything for me. I couldn't stay and watch you destroy yourself."
"So you destroyed us instead?" he asked, the hurt evident in his voice.
The words hit like a punch to the gut, and you felt the tears you'd been holding back finally spill over. "It was the only way I could save you."
"Save me?" he repeated, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. "You didn't save me. You just made me lose the only thing I cared about. And you know what's worse? I thought I deserved it. I thought I wasn't good enough for you, that I let you down."
His words hung in the air, and for a moment, all you could do was stare at him, your chest heaving as the weight of his pain settled over you like a suffocating blanket.
"I'm sorry," you whispered finally, your voice breaking. "I thought... I thought I was doing the right thing."
Dae-ho's expression softened, and he took another step closer, his voice quieter now. "The right thing would've been staying and letting me figure it out with you. That's all I ever wanted."
Tears welled in your eyes as you whispered, "I thought you hated me."
He kneeled in front of you, his hands trembling as they cupped your face. "I could never hate you. Not for a second. I loved you then, and I love you now."
The words broke something inside you, your tears spilling over as you finally let yourself feel the weight of it all. You shook your head, realizing the mistake you made, "I thought I was protecting you."
"And I thought I was protecting you," he whispered, his forehead resting against yours. "But all we did was hurt each other."
Both his thumbs swiped away the tears that slipped down your cheeks. "I don't care about the past. I don't care about anything except this. Right now. Tell me you don't love me, and I'll walk away. But if there's even a part of you that still-"
"I never stopped," you cut in, your voice barely audible.
His breath hitched, and he pulled you into his arms, pressing a soft kiss to your hair and holding you as though afraid you might slip away again. His body was warm, solid, and for the first time in years, you felt like you could breathe.
The two of you stayed like that for what felt like hours, clinging to each other as the weight of the world pressed down on you.
"We don't know what's going to happen," you said finally, your voice shaky. "These games... they're not going to let us both make it out alive."
His grip on you tightened, his jaw clenching. "We'll figure it out. We'll survive. Both of us."
"Dae-"
"Don't," he said firmly, pulling back to look at you. "I already lost you once. I'm not losing you again."
You opened your mouth to respond, but the sound of the announcement system crackling to life cut you off. The same automated female voice filled the room, announcing the end of the game.
The moment shattered, the tension between you replaced by the cold reality of where you were. But as the words faded and doors unlocked again, Dae-ho didn't move away. His gaze remained fixed on yours, a silent promise lingering in his eyes.
This wasn't over. Not yet.

SMUTTY IN-HO HEADCANNONS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✩ Heavy breeding kink. This man wants someone to carry on his legacy, to carry on the games and be the next frontman—and when he thinks of you, your stomach all swollen from carrying his seed…he can’t help but get hard.
✩ I’ve seen a couple posts stating he’d date a younger woman, which I agree with…but not too much younger. Like maybe 10-12 year age gap at most. He wants someone mature, but a little younger. He doesn’t want you to die before him. He couldn’t handle another loss.
✩ Will bend you over any and every surface. The kitchen counter? Check. His desk? Check. In-ho doesn’t care, as long as you’re comfortable as he takes you from behind.
✩ Loves cockwarming. For him, it’s an anywhere, anytime activity. When he’s sitting in his office doing paperwork for the games? Yep. When he’s sitting in his private suite during the games, when red light, green light is being broadcasted to his TV? Definitely.
✩ He is also a very caring partner, even if it seems the opposite sometimes. He will always put your pleasure above his own. Never coming before you do, and always making sure he has a safeword if you ever need to stop.
✩ This man also has a CRAZY amount of stamina. In-ho was a police officer at one point, so he had to have at least some agility experience or training. He is also very skilled for his age and can go for literal hours. So I hope you’re ready for a wild ride, babe!
✩ In-ho is the perfect mix of degrading and praising. Names he will call you during steamy time range from slut, to darling, to your own name. He will really call you anything under the sun as he pounds into you.

Guard~ Hwang Jun-ho
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wearning: +18,smut
Request: yes!
You were taken to a mysterious place, where the games of your childhood came back to haunt you in a deadly way. The rules were simple: win or die. If you broke a rule, you weren't just eliminated. You were killed.
Shot to death for a simple childish game.
But the prize was tempting: 6 billion won. An amount that drove 456 desperate people, including you, to risk everything.
This place is called The Squid Games.
Around you, men with black masks that hide their faces. The masks have different symbols: the squares are the Managers, those who command; the triangles are the Soldiers, armed with guns always ready; and the circles are the simple workers, who never speak unless ordered to do so.
At first, you didn't know who they really were, but there was a man among them, watching you. Silent, attentive.
His name is Jun-ho.
---
Jun-ho was not like the others. Behind the Manager mask, he hid a secret: he was looking for his brother, In-ho, the winner of the 28th edition of the games, who disappeared without a trace. To find answers, Jun-ho had infiltrated the workers, assuming the identity of one of them.
And then he met you.
--
The second game was to cut out a perfect shape from a piece of caramelized sugar. If you broke the shape, you were eliminated on the spot.
Sitting on the ground, you clutched your small umbrella in your shaking hands. You knew it was the most difficult shape to cut out. The screams of those who failed filled the air, followed by the dry sound of gunshots.
You concentrate, breathing hard, sweat dripping down your forehead. Finally, with one last precise movement, the umbrella shape comes off without breaking.
You smile, relieved. You get up and approach a Manager to show off your work. He slowly turns to you. Under the square mask, Jun-ho’s eyes soften for a moment, almost imperceptibly.
“Done,” you say softly, a hint of pride in your voice.
He nods. “Good job.”
From that moment, something changes
---
After the brutal test of Tug of War, you are in the bathroom, in front of the mirror, cleaning a cut on your face. During the game, another participant accidentally scratched you with his nail as you struggled not to fall.
You are rubbing the wound with a piece of cloth, when the bathroom door slowly opens.
A man in a square mask enters, looking around before closing the door behind him. Your heart pounds in your chest.
“Rough game, hm?” he says softly, his voice recognizable despite the hushed tone.
you sigh as you dry yourself "no, do you think so?" you say sarcastically
"Hm, I have a feeling you'd be sarcastic," he says under his mask, leaning against the bathroom wall.
"it's the only thing I have left," you mutter tiredly. Under his mask, Junho's eyes softened as he listened to your words. Seeing you so clearly struggling and exhausted from the games was a hard sight to behold. He was silent for a moment before answering softly, "Don't say that."
You turn to look at him. "But it's the truth. In these games, you risk your life, it's easy to talk for you."
"I risk my life too, you know, doll." He retorts, and the nickname slips off his tongue before he can even register what he said. He paused for a second, before answering softly, "Believe me, it's not easy at all."
you look at him in disbelief, not believing him. "and let's hear what you're risking? you're a guard"
He laughs at your response and shakes his head slightly under his mask. He pushes himself away from the wall, taking a step towards you as he answers in a low voice,
"And if you think that being a guard is just fun and games, you're wrong. Do you have any idea what we've been ordered to do?"
you look at him carefully "kill people? well I notice that you do it with great pleasure" you blurt
He lets out a soft sigh under his mask, almost rolling his eyes at your words. He continues to walk towards you, until he's right in front of you, with his back to the wall. As he looks down at you, his voice drops: "You don't know how things really are. Do you think it's a choice? No, it's an order. We were told to do it. Not that you'd understand that, right?"
"He is only one, there are many more of you, the story of not having a choice doesn't hold up" you huff
He let out a soft sigh as you continued to argue with him. Then he leaned even closer, his body practically against yours as he looked down at you. The black mask on his face hid the slight frown on his lips. "Do you think the guards don't have to obey? Do you think we have the choice to stop or not follow orders? Do you think we have the choice to say no?" He asks firmly, a hint of irritation in his voice.
"I repeat, he is only one and there are many more of you" you move closer to him leaving no space. He lets out a small, bitter laugh under his mask as you enter his space.
He couldn't deny the fact that you were stubborn, and annoying. He stood there for a moment, still looking down at you as he held his body against yours. Then he answered in a low voice, "Are you always this stubborn?"
"I'm usually quiet but this place drives me crazy" you mutter looking at him. He lets out another soft sigh, shaking his head slightly under his mask.
After a moment, he lifts a hand to your head and gently moves a lock of hair from your face. He pauses, before saying in a more calm tone than before: "Yeah, I don't blame you. This place does the same to me too".
You lean into his touch feeling a sweet caress after a long time. He feels you leaning into his touch, that you're almost melting completely. His fingers continued to gently brush your hair, before moving to gently cup your face. He let out a silent sigh as his thumb carefully brushed your cheek.
You sigh softly and lean into him more. "It feels so good to be caressed after so long".
He can’t help but frown under his mask when he feels you lean into him. He slowly moves his other hand to grasp your waist, as he carefully guides you forward to rest against his chest.
He wraps his arms around you gently, holding your body against his, and his hands draw gentle circles on your back. His eyes wander once more to the cut on your face as he says softly, “Doll, why didn’t you clean yourself up properly? You even have a cut on your face.”
You sigh softly and hug him, “Who cares, I’ll have more,” you whisper tiredly. He feels you gently wrap your arms around him, causing his to tighten around you. He sighs softly under his mask when you mention the possibility of him having more injuries. “I don’t want you to get any more. Especially while you’re here in the arena.” He responds by gently holding the back of your head against his shoulder.
You hum in response and let yourself go to the feel of his arms around your body. He stays silent as he listens to you hum softly, letting his mind focus on the feel of you against him.
He held you tightly to his body, not wanting to let go so soon.
The feeling of having you in his arms was something he didn’t want to give up so quickly. He liked the way you leaned into him, the way you let him hold you, even though we were in the bathroom.
His arms still held you against his chest, his chin resting on your head. He could faintly smell your shampoo, a pleasant smell that made him tighten his arms around you slightly.
He was silent for a moment, before saying softly, “You know I’m going to be in trouble if anyone catches us like this.”
You nodded weakly into his arm again. “Do you want me to let go?” You whispered, hoping he’d say no.
Feeling your body nod against his, he let out a soft sigh as he rolled his eyes under his mask. He pulled you a little closer, not letting go even a little. “If I told you I wanted you to move, would you?” he murmurs softly as he rubs your back.
"well i would struggle but yes" you whisper again into his arms. When he hears you answer, he lets out a soft hum, clearly not satisfied with your answer. He pushes you back, until you are pinned against the wall, your body still in his arms. He freezes you in place as he bends down to your height, his mask right next to your ear. "Doll, are you sure you really want to leave? You look reluctant." He murmurs softly.
"no i don't" you whisper as you hold him close. He lets out a soft smirk when he hears your words, a victorious smile beneath his mask. "That's what i thought. You're not really willing to leave, huh?" He runs his hands up your sides, his fingers delicately tracing your curves. He had you pinned to the wall, not letting you move even a little.
The feel of your body against his, the way you leaned into him made his face heat up. He leaned down, lowering his mask slightly to your neck and feeling his warm breath on your skin. He murmured softly, "Tell me, doll. Do you know how hard it is for me to stay calm when I'm with you?"
you look at him softly, "can you take off your mask?" The request takes him a little by surprise, but he quickly regains his composure. He looks at you from under the mask, considering your words. After a moment, he slowly raises his hands and removes the mask that covers his face. He places the mask on one of the nearby sinks, before looking back at you, his dark eyes meeting yours. His hair was falling delicately over his forehead, giving him a slightly disheveled look.
You smile softly and caress his cheek. "You're so beautiful," you whisper softly. When he feels your hand gently caress his cheek, his face reddens from the unexpected compliment. He looks at you and sees a soft smile on your lips, and it makes his heart beat faster. He responds softly, his voice a little softer than before, "Do you really think so?"
You smile softly and nod. He swallows slightly, his face still red as you nod in agreement. sign of confirmation. "Doll, you shouldn't say things so suddenly. You'll make me act even more out of place than I already have." He murmurs softly as he moves his head to lean into your touch.
"do it," you whisper. When he hears such direct words from you, he lets out a sigh of relief.
He then grabs your wrists, pinning you against the wall again; this time both wrists are in his grip. “You’re only making it worse for yourself, doll. You really shouldn’t say things like that.” He says in a low, slightly warning tone.
He leaned in closer, his body pressed against yours, your wrists still in his grip. He looked at you intently, his expression a little serious, but with a slight hint of something else. “Let me ask you this, doll. Do you want me to go further?”
You look at him and nod quickly. He’s slightly surprised when you nod quickly in response. He smirks slightly as he looks up at you and studies your face carefully. “You’re so quick to say that, doll. I wonder if you’ll regret it later.”
He leans in even further, pinning your wrists against the wall above your head. Then he moves closer to your neck, his breath warm on your skin as he murmurs softly. “But I won’t stop.”
His lips soon move to your neck, gently planting kisses on your sensitive skin. He moved slower, savoring the feeling of having you in his arms. He continues to hold your wrists still, preventing you from moving, while his other hand slowly slides down your body. You moan and cling to him.
When he hears your moan, he makes a soft hum against your neck. He slowly feels you grab him, as if you want to pull him closer, as if you want his body against yours. He gently bites your skin, trailing kisses along your neck with his lips, until he reaches your ear. He whispers in a low, warm tone, "You're mine, doll. Just remember that." You nod in response.
He lets out another soft hum as he feels your head nod against his body. He feels you pressing yourself more and more against him, as if you were submitting completely to his touch. He slowly lets his hands wander over your body, his touch firm against your curves. He murmurs in a low, possessive tone against your ear, “Be a good doll and hold still for me, okay?” You nod again in response.
When he says these words, he feels your body tremble slightly, as he slowly caresses your hips with his hands. His touch on your skin is gentle yet firm, as if he’s making sure to memorize every inch of you. He begins to slide his hands gently down your body, his fingers tracing your curves until they reach your face. He looks down at you, meeting your eyes. “You look so beautiful like this, doll.”
He raises his hand and gently runs his fingers through your hair, his touch soft and tender on your skin. His dark eyes scan your features, carefully studying every detail of your face: from your lips to your cheeks, to the slight cut on your face. He looks down at you for a few seconds before murmuring softly, "You look so fragile like this. You're mine, and tonight I'll remind you of that." Hearing those words, you moan in response.
He lets out a small smirk in response to the sound of your moan. His hands slowly slide to your hips, gripping you gently as he pulls you closer to his body. He murmurs in a low, firm tone, "You make it harder for me to hold back, doll."
He leans back slightly and his eyes travel back up your body, pinned to the wall. He looks down at you, his expression a little serious, but revealing something else. “You know, honey, I’m going to make sure you’re completely mine before the night is out.” You whimper in response.
He slowly leans forward again, pinning you to his body. He looks at you intently, his eyes locking with yours. Then he slowly murmurs against your ear, his voice low and seductive, "You know I won't be gentle, doll. I'm going to have you all to myself tonight." You moan softly, getting excited at his words,
He feels your moan against his body and it makes his body heat up. He slowly lowers his hands, grabbing your thighs and lifting you up quickly, your legs wrapping around his waist. He pins you more firmly against the wall, making sure you're locked in place.
He feels your body shaking against his, your arms wrapping around his neck as you hold on tight. He watches you as you're against the wall, his eyes locked on your face. He studies your expression for a few seconds before letting out a small smirk. "Doll, you really don't know how hard you make it for me to control myself."
You look at him longingly and kiss him. He’s a little surprised when you suddenly kiss him, not expecting such a bold move from you. He kisses you quickly, his lips moving against yours in a firm but somehow gentle way. He slowly moves his hands up, grabbing your wrists as he pins your body to the wall again, now holding both of your wrists in his grip.
His lips move against yours, his kiss slowly becoming more intense as he pins your body to his. He continues to hold your wrists with one hand, not letting you escape his touch. After a moment he pulls away and looks at you, your face red and slightly breathless from the kiss. “Baby, you make it hard to hold back.” He says softly, his eyes roaming over your face.
“I need you,” you murmur longingly. He lets out a soft sigh when he hears those words come out of your mouth. He looks at you intently, his eyes meeting yours. He sees the desire on your face, and he’s both surprised and excited by it. Then he responds softly, his voice almost whispering, “Do you want me that bad, doll?”
“Yes please,” you murmur in response. He lets out a soft hum as he looks up at you and notices the pleading look on your face. His expression softens slightly, a hint of possession in his eyes. “Beg all you want, doll. I won’t be gentle. Tonight I’m going to have you all to myself.” You groan in anticipation.
He quickly turns around and walks with you in his arms, still holding you tightly in his grip. Then he places you on the nearest bed, positioning you right in the middle. Then he looks down at you, his eyes roaming over your body. He grabs your thighs and pulls you towards him, moving you over the sink
He places himself between your legs, his body hovering over yours. He looks down at you, a small smirk on his lips. Then he slowly runs his hand up your leg, his touch almost reverent. “You look so beautiful like this, doll. All mine, just for me.” You moan in response.
He quickly begins to undo your shirt, his fingers working deftly, fast and precise. Your shirt soon opens, exposing your skin to his gaze. Then he looks down at you, his gaze slowly wandering over your body. His expression is a little hungry as he looks at you, his eyes slowly darkening. “Doll, you look so beautiful. You have no idea how hard it is for me to control myself with you like this.”
He moves his hands down, gently touching your skin as his fingers begin to explore every inch of your body. It’s not gentle; his touch is firm and somewhat possessive. He slowly moves closer to you, his body pressing against yours as he leans down. His lips are right next to your ear and he murmurs softly, “You feel so good under my touch, doll. I want you so bad right now.”
You whimper at his touch wanting more and you cling to him. Jun-ho removes his clothes and rubs his hardness against your entrance and then enters you making you moan loudly. He starts to move against you harder and harder, he was true to his word. He wasn’t gentle at all. His hips move at a slow but steady pace, each thrust is hard and deep.
With each thrust you moan loudly as you cling to him. He watches you intently, his eyes locked on your face as he notices the look of pleasure on your face. “You feel so good, doll. It’s like you were made for me this beautiful pussy” he moans thrusting even harder.
He can feel you trembling under his touch, your body responding in ways that only make him wilder. He moves closer to you, his body flush against yours as he continues to move against you. His mouth moves down to your neck, where he gently sucks your skin, leaving little marks in his wake. “You’re mine, baby. I’m the only one who can see you like this. You’re mine and mine alone.”
He picks you up and fucks you in his arms, hitting you deeper and deeper. "this pussy is so tight" he grunts, fucking you harder and you scream.
"I'm close" you murmur, moaning and Jun-ho smiles and pushes his hips even more brutally. "cum for me doll" he murmurs and you come hearing his words.
Jun-ho smiles and pushes himself even more brutally and then cums inside you. You screamed from the mixture of pain and pleasure. You hid your face in the crook of his neck and he smiles. "You're mine, there's no escape now" he whispers in your ear.
