Took a deep breath and started 501st. Full disclosure to the void: I don’t have fond memories of this book’s handling of plot and characters. I know reading it through my current lens is going to be a trial. Expect grumbling. Or for me to start talking incessantly about True Colors again like I did with Order 66, so I can pretend I’m not reading it.

Pleasantly, though, it starts off on a high note!

Namely:

Kina Ha.

the idea that the Mandalorian and Jedi’s ANCIENT and SEETHING RIVALRY is actually pretty one-sided is genuinely hilarious to me. Dudes, they got over this AGES ago.

Politely doing her best to uphold her end of this conversation about all this prejudice they are apparently supposed to be having, but really she’s more interested in lunch. I love her.

Just casually dropping “I’m over 1000 years old” bombs left and right for the sake of making polite conversation.

Ny, remembering five seconds ago when she was complaining about being too old: *sweats*

I don’t know what child!me was doing with their life, but I have almost NO recollection of Kina Ha at all (the name is sort of familiar), just Scout, and, really, I was letting myself down. I’m enraptured. I’ve imprinted so hard on fish grandma I’m going to LOSE IT I swear if Kal so much as BREATHES on her--

I would die for Sev but I would fistfight a god or a cult leader for Kina Ha.
