Unreal Underdog This award is given to the team that pushes the limits to achieve an amazing showing for their game or experience at E3. Focusing on not just the product, but the people and process behind it, this award acknowledges a team’s perseverance to make a big splash at the big show.

Unreal Engine is popular among virtual reality (VR) developers so there’s a good chance some of these categories will feature VR content. Epic Games Announce the NVIDIA Edge Program Celebrating Unreal Engine Developers, Artists and Designers

Epic Games is well known for supporting the Unreal Engine developer community through initiatives like the Unreal Dev Grant programme. Today the company has announced another, this time in partnership with graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA, called the NVIDIA Edge Program.

Celebrating talented developers, artists and designers who use Unreal Engine, the programme will award individuals and teams with the latest NVIDIA hardware – GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti cards. Three projects will be selected each month to win some hardware, with the aim of helping them produce even bigger and better videogames.

In addition to winning new graphics cards, the winners will also see their projects showcased on the Unreal Engine and NVIDIA blogs with additional promotions also possible. The NVIDIA Edge Program will begin in July 2017, with the first round of winners announced at the end of that month. The program will then continue all the way through until the summer of 2018.

While this isn’t a programme developers can join up to they can certainly help themselves by using a few tricks to get noticed. They’ll need to capture in-engine stills or video of their projects and then share them on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. And don’t forget to tag or mention the Unreal Engine or NVIDIA accounts when posting to make sure those projects get seen.

MAINGEAR Adds Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti to Desktop Range

Computer manufacturer MAINGEAR has a long running partnership with graphics chip maker NVIDIA as part of the latters ‘VR Ready’ build programme. When the Geforce GTX 1060 was launched MAINGEAR was one of the first to announce the card would be put into its PCs. With the recent launch of the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, MAINGEAR has now done the same.

The Geforce GTX 1080 Ti was announced at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2017 last week, with the new model offering a 35 percent speed increase over the previous GeForce GTX 1080, thanks to the new Pascal Architecture, 3584 cores, 11GB GDDR5x memory and a 11Gbps frame buffer.

MAINGEAR offers a wide array of customization options including the latest Intel i7 and AMD Ryzen 7 processors, premium HyperX memory, and Samsung NVME storage options.  These can be paired with MAINGEAR’s Redline Overclocking service as well as water cooling to unlock further performance.
