#Happy now?
to your tag - of course I'm not happy. That is obviously a very shitty thing to say, much less make it through a bunch of reviews and get published. That's why it set off my "potential BS" alarm.
It is nice to see that it's not completely made up that reputable news organizations (I checked Christian Science Monitor and it IS reputable). But OP's claim that there's lots of news organizations celebrating this and calling it impressive is still unsubstantiated.
I checked about 10 different sources, and this is the first that actually states that. And, let's be honest, the average person is not tuning to the Christian Science Monitor for their news. If I've heard of it before today, I didn't remember it. Beyond that, 1 article does not prove an overall trend like OP is implying.
None of that excuses the way the other sources discussed this (especially CNN. It was worse than the Wall Street Journal AND Fox News. Combined (imo)).
But it's important to me that the information I share is accurate. And, based on the information people have given me, and my own research, the claim that "ALL these news stories call the pager explosions 'impressive'" is not accurate, nor is the claim that "arab deaths are being celebrated on an international scale."
It's really just not fair how obviously the world devalues arab lives. All these news stories call the pager explosions as "impressive"... it's just not fair. I don't know how else to say it. It's not fair that arab deaths are celebrated on an international scale.
#Now the first claim about arab lives being devalued? Read any of the articles I listed#or just look it up on google#it's like they can't help themselves but imply that bc Hezbollah is bad setting off bombs in civilian centers during busy times of day#is a totally normal and okay thing to do#or just look at american policy in the middle east since 2001#But at the end of the day that's how misinformation spreads#something that is true is used to spread something false#its not normally malicious in my experience#Nor even deliberate#but at the end of the day it is just as dangerous as purposefully spread mis and dis info
