Dead friend forever ep 6 random thoughts:
▪️ This series is just making me furious every time I see the face of this group of fake friends and I just feel so bad for Non. He is so hard-working, trying to get back on his feet and he is always deceived, abused and abandoned by those next to him. It's not just the group of friends, it is also his parents and everyone. Jin is the only one who seems kind to him, without asking anything in exchange (yes, I don't the trust the teacher) but at the same time, he is so oblivious of what is going on. He is attracted to Non and never really show him. He feels useless because despite his attraction to Non and defending him, he still stays with his toxic friends. How can he not see how harmful they are?
▪️ I don't know where to start… Tee and Por were the most infuriating characters in this episode. I can't believe it, but Top and Fluke (who are also super annoying) seemed nicer than them, this time. Tee dragged Non in his uncle's laundering money scam and when things ended badly he blamed Non and made him admit he was the one who wanted to do it from the very beginning. Non would never have done this if it wasn't for Whiny Por (that's my nickname for him) who couldn't protect his camera from his stupid friends and believed Non was responsible for the damage on it (I don't forget it was Tee and Top and I loathe them even more).
▪️ Non is in a downward spiral he can't escape and it's getting harder and harder to watch. It's taking a toll on his mental health too and he has no one to really talk to. He tried to have this conversation with the teacher, but in the end, he only gave him a half truth. It fells like there are no way out for him. I also think, his teacher will take advantage of him too. He is shady. The way, he is a touchy-feely type of guy… Yuck! He doesn't act like a teacher to Non and I believe he is bad news too.
▪️ The most shocking event in the episode happened at the end. I wasn't expecting that and I truly feel it was a good twist. Phi knows Non and we never got that information before. In the previous episodes, in the present, he always acted like he didn't know who was Non, just like White and Tan. Who did we see, at the end of this episode… Phi! He knows Non and they are not just friend… They are also FWB and if we believe the trailer for the next episode, he wanted to really date Non and didn't trust his so-called friends. How Phi ended up with Jin? Is it his way of being involved in this group? How his feeling have changed and he went from wanting to be with Non to being with Jin? I have so many questions!!! This was my favorite part of the episode.
I've watched the previous episode expecting nothing from it but now I'm truly hooked! I want to have the next episode now. I need answers.

Oh shit!
Dead Friend Forever made me feel all the emotions for Tee.
I was actually back on my Tee x Non bullshit for a few seconds because I saw the vision of the two poor kids having to survive together in a world of rich friends.
But then I got Tee and White's cute little love story.
So I'm glad he found happiness after all of those awful things happened.
But I'm in love with Tan.
So all of y'all gotta die!
He told Phi that he would mark the laced ones with an X and the antidote would be blank.
But my man apparently lied, as he should have.
I'm still holding out the wildest hope that Non is alive, and that Perth helped him stop breathing for a bit since he was already struggling with breathing.
All's I really know is that uncle is dead, and I hope that death was NOT natural. But also, Perth, is it going to be important that you left to go see someone after this brief conversation because it'd be really cool if it was?
Since there HAS to be another person out there. Phi and Jin heard a car leaving, and that "driver" had already told them the car would be delayed before Fluke cancelled it.
I don't even care what the finale gives me. This show has already been gold for eleven episodes, but I'm hoping we go out with a bang.
NO SURVIVORS!

DFF language notes and observations
This was originally just supposed to be a quick look at Non's meds in ep. 8 but then I finished watching the episode and felt compelled to rewatch the entire show 🫠 So might as well collect everything into one post!
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Por's mumblings (ep. 2)
กูขอโทษ อย่าเอาคืนกูเลย /guu khaaw thoht. yaa ao kheuun guu loei/ = "I'm sorry. Don't take revenge on me/Don't get back at me."
Time and ages
The present takes place in 2023, the past was three years ago, in 2020. Apart from White, the boys are all the same age according to the character overview below, which makes them all 19-20 years old in the present (while White is 18 and a freshman). In the past up to ep. 8, they would have been 16-17 years old and in 11th grade (ม. 5/3 -> Matthayom 5, class 3; ม. stands for มัธยม /mat tha yohm/ = secondary school).
Potty mouth Fluke
In the present, I swear every other word out of his mouth is a swear and the subs don't always make it obvious. An example of when he's speaking calmly in ep. 3:
เพราะคนอย่างไอ้เหี้ยท็อปอ่ะ แม่งคงไม่ปล่อยให้โอกาสแบบเนี่ยะหลุดมือไปง่ายๆละเว่ย /phraw khohn yaang ai hia Top a- maaeng khohng mai blaawy hai oh gaat baaep niia loot meuu bpai ngaai ngaai la woei/ = Because someone like that dipshit Top wouldn't fucking let an opportunity like this slip his hands so easily.
It's not like the others don't curse, they sure do lol, but Fluke does so even when not in a stressful situation, and it sticks out in contrast to White especially because the baby speaks so properly and politely to his phis.
Newspaper clipping (ep. 4)
เป็นแฟนไอ้ตี๋แต่มึงไม่รู้จักอาโจ้นะ /bpen faaen ai Tee dtaae meung mei ruu jak aa Joe na/ = You're Tee's boyfriend but don't know uncle Joe?
The headline reads: ตายปริศนา'เสี่ยโจ้'นายบ่อนใหญ่ /dtaai bprit sa naa 'siia Joe' naai baawn yai/ = Mysterious death of 'bigwig* Joe' the gambling magnate** ฟอกเงินบัญชีม้ากว่า 300 ล้าน /faawk ngern ban chee maa gwaa 300 laan/ = Laundered money with over 300 million mule accounts
* เสี่ย /siia/ = a rich guy who squanders money, a big spender in illicit businesses, mostly used for middle-aged men; it's used as a pronoun, hence why he's known as เสี่ยโจ้ /siia Joe/ and we hear his subordinates call him เสี่ย /siia/, often subbed as Boss; it's a term of Teochew origin that describes an aristocrat's son, originally ** นายบ่อนใหญ่ /naai baawn yai/ = big shot gambling den boss or the boss of a huge gambling den
The snippet on the right is another easter egg btw - 'Talking to Pond Krisda, director of "Man Suang", Thai filmmaking [...]' but I can't make out the rest in that box (the snippet above that, too, though some of it I can tell says tourists, free visa, 3 months).
Greasy
What the boys call Non is (ไอ้)เมือก /(ai) meuuak/ which is more like Slimy or Mucous, actually.
More news (ep. 6, 7, 8)
Gang of senior high teens accomplices to mule accounts
Police does 180: Senior high teens escape lawsuit for shady mule accounts
High school kid goes missing at same time as teacher in leaked clip Connected to case of shady mule account teens
Past injury?
Whoever actually leaked the clip has this pelvis x-ray saved that's labeled to be from that same year, 2563 aka 2020. The two files at the top look to be invoices.
Pronouns
When Phee goes to confront Non about the leaked clip, he's so furious that he switches from their usual เรา /rao/ (= I; informal) + calling each other by name instead of using a 2nd pers. pronoun to calling both Non and Keng มึง /meung/ (= you; impolite) and himself กู /guu/ (= I; impolite). For reference, กู/มึง /guu, meung/ are the same pronouns the entire friend group use with each other, as male friends in Thai shows often do. Non, as the new addition to the group, is the only one who uses เรา /rao/ + names, and Jin is the only who reciprocally uses these pronouns with him.
Non's meds
Lorazepam -> benzodiazepine; used for treating anxiety disorders, insomnia, seizures etc.
Sertraline -> antidepressant; used for treating clinical depression, PTSD, OCD, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder
Quetiapine -> antipsychotic; used for treating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, clinical depression etc.
THC poster, and a goof
ที่แห่งนี้...ไม่ได้มีแค่พวกเรา /thee haaeng nee...mai dai mee khaae puuak rao/ = In this place... it's not just us.
I'm sure there's more going on than just Phee and Tan infiltrating the group to get evidence and avenge Non. Like, Keng was on the phone with his contact Joy when he got hit by that white truck of doom car so I wonder if she's gonna come into play again in the present and who she really is.
And just for fun: that half-heartedly covered poster behind Tee looks suspiciously like a movie about a young chocolatier that shouldn't be out for another 3 years, according to the time line of this show lol

Something something about how Tan stated he would mark the laced ones with an X and the antidote would be blank.
And how Phi immediately started smoking the antidote after they partied.
And so did Tan.
And even though he apparently has asthma . . .
He continued to smoke throughout the night.
Yet he claimed he was smoking because he was stressed.
Which is kind of true since he smokes when he doesn't trust the situation, but not really when he is stressed.
Like when he thinks people are lying.
So when he freaked out while high, the antidote came from smoke.
So possibly, maybe, perhaps, he is freaking out thinking he is seeing something he thinks is a lie and hoping the antidote will bring him clarity.
Since the last time he freaked out this much, he had just seen his brother.
Tan is the only one who has hallucinated Non. Phi's story to Jin strangely showed Por seeing Non as well, but there was some oddities in Phi's story like how he knew White had viewed the video with Non in it when he had been away from the house the entire time.
But a lot of odd things are happening, like Tan, who took the antidote still seeing something in the house.
So . . . wouldn't he freak out even more believing he took the antidote only to see something that wrecks him like before?
But what could that something possibly be though that would leave him trembling, terrified, and crying in the midst of all this chaos?
#this is non-believer propaganda#non is alive#or Tan is seeing his ghost#dead friend forever#Tan deserves to see his brother#and it not be a hallucination!

How do you feel about PheeJin. I'm conflicted. I can see that Phee actually caught feelings, even if he feels guilty about Non still. And Phee and Jin do have chemestry. But I don't know. There was something was missing for me, I guess maybe it felt too fast.
Anyway what do you think are the chances of Phee/Non reunion?? Shall we clown together for a happy ending, or do you no longer see them coming back together??
@italianpersonwithashippersheart, because I'm crazy, once I realized Phi took Jin to Eden from the previews last week, I mentally pushed Jin off a cliff and focused on one sole thing -
NON IS ALIVE!
TLWR: It could get messy between Phi x Jin, White is a problem or salvation, and . . . Keng might be alive too *eye roll*
This entire theory can go up in flames in the next episode, but come with me for a second to Optimistic City:
I thought Phi was the mastermind and that Tan came along for the ride, but Tan is actually the mastermind while Phi is being dragged along. I like that Phi caught feelings for Jin because, hopefully, this means Phi is going to tell Jin about this crazy plan to get a confession, and it's going to come back around that Jin recorded the video; therefore, these two are going to look at each other with disgust unless they are like Babe from Pit Babe and completely cool with it, which I'm also very cool with.
When Phi didn't drink the water, I instantly was like "oh, so he knows it's spiked with drugs!" but then he commented when Jin was freaking out that he hadn't realized it was spiked.
And I love this because it implies that Tan has always had a different agenda and has left Phi out of it.
Since it seems Tan knows more details than we thought.
So if Dead Friend Forever is giving me a story about brotherly love rather than one of romantic love . . .
Then who am I to argue with a tale of redemption.
Which is why I think Keng might be alive.
People have pointed out one of the masked killers is on crutches.
Which would make sense if someone had gotten hit by a car and the injury didn't heal properly.
I don't want Keng to be alive, but the fact remains that Jin keeps seeing Keng, which we know is a hallucination just like all the other guys, while Tan seemed like he genuinely saw an actual person in the house.
The hooded person also looked up at him, and kept it moving.
Yet Phi hasn't seen or heard anything which is why I thought he knew about this hooded figure and was in on it unlike Tan, but why would the hooded figure stop to peek a glance at Tan?
When Top was attacked, Tan was upstairs "sleeping." Before Uncle Dang showed up to the house, Tan had just arrived to see the aftermath of the fight between Phi and Tee. And Tan was quick to suggest they use Por's place for Jin's farewell party in the first place.
But Phi immediately ran to Jin's house to try to speak to him.
And even questioned Tan! It's been over two years since they infiltrated the group. Why now? Why wait two years for a confession?!
Because it's no longer about a confession for Tan.
I mentioned that if Non is alive, it would make sense that he waited to do something until after Tee's uncle was no longer a threat, and homeboy is dead now!
Tan's hallucination was eerily specific: Non was framed. Expose the Fucked-Up Five. Get Non's forgiveness.
And Tan has always thought ALL of the boys are bad and specifically narrowed in on Jin as the reason for his brother's disappearance.
If Phi truly fell for Jin, he will try to protect Jin against Tan who is going rogue. But Tan needs an inhaler. It could hold the antidote if Tan has bigger plans to kill them all, but my original thought was it would be the perfect way to die without dying. He wouldn't have to get stabbed or hit. It would take no physical injury. He would just need his inhaler and not get to in time.
Stop breathing. Pass out. Be a dead body as chaos continues around him, and when the dust clears after the masked killers have finished everyone off, he gets back up and walks out of the woods as New because Tan who has asthma never existed in the first place.
Non was presumed either dead or missing. Both boys could walk out of those woods without anyone even realizing they were there. The only issue is White, BUT he wasn't supposed to be there either.
And yet he is keeping Tee right where he needs to be.
White's only connection to the group is he is dating Tee for almost three years.
His backstory is as thin as Tan's was, but I have never seen him as "in" on the kills. White hasn't been physically harmed unlike the Fucked-Up Five. White continues to remain in the safety of the house when everyone has to venture outside. I want White to live, so either he has his reasons for being on this trip and keeping Tee out there, or White is really as innocent as he appears and Tan will save the little one as an act of redeeming himself for not saving his brother.
Which would make the thrill of Non being alive even sweeter!
Because it would mean that everyone who "wronged" Non suffered. His mom. His dad. The Fucked-Up Five. Phi. (Keng, please God!). And even possibly his brother unless the narrative allows the brothers to be the final love story. It's scorched earth.
Perth's character still exists, and I think he helped Non survive somehow. I have no idea how all of this will turn out, and I'm excited to see, but the second Phi took Jin to Eden, he was dead to me.
And Non was more alive than ever.
#non is alive#episode ten don't do me dirty#dead friend forever#praying on bended knee that we are getting brothers#Tan is the mastermind#and White is the final gay#please pretty please

seems like non has to have survived somehow because why are they seeing the masked figure with a crutch? and why did the masked figure grope tee? keng seems legit dead and sold for organs so who else could it be if not non?
Anon, I've stated this multiple times before but telenovelas and Romeo & Juliet have taught me it ain't over until it's over. I have thought that Tan was going to fake his death with the inhaler, and knowing he has been experimenting with drugs made me more excited for the possibility. But now, I'm staring at a dead body that I don't want to believe is dead, and Shakespeare's Juliet, Pit Babe's Charlie, and Sammon's Tan and Bun are looking me right in the face saying "the best way to get someone out is by killing them!"
DO YOU SEE THE VISION?!
Yes, the guys are hallucinating. Yes, the smoke is causing it. But why do they keep seeing crutches?! That's odd!
Phi and Jin heard a car starting when they were at the temple, yet everyone was accounted for, so SOMEONE ELSE IS OUT THERE!
We still have that missing second driver who knows his way around the woods at night and who got held up by the tree in the way but was that a lie?!
The axe just conveniently laying in the temple is strange.
The trees being cut up differently when Jin and Phi were roaming around the woods is weird.
Phi assumed Tan did several of these things, but we know Tan couldn't have done everything Phi accused him of.
And why would we see Perth take this call?
Nothing in this show has been unimportant. Everything we have seen has a reason, so to waste precious time on Perth telling Tee he was leaving after taking this call has to mean something, right? Was it just to show us how much Perth cares about his off-time, so when he stays an extra hour for Tee, it's meaningful?
NO!
The uncle died under mysterious circumstances, and even though I don't need to know how, it's still important that the death wasn't natural.
Because the plot is plotting and someone else is out there killing these people!
And I want it to be Non!
I know believing Non is still alive is a stretch, but even if it isn't Non, someone else is out there, and we've already met all the players, so it's someone we know. There are only so many players left on the board, so who is that hidden character?
Keng is dead. Amen.
As much as I totally and completely ship Fluke x Tan (shut up! leave me alone! it makes sense in my head), I know the doctor isn't helping the biochemist with this.
So if Non really is dead, that leaves White or Perth, and neither one of them would need crutches, and White seems to be having his own little crisis in the finale. The only person who would need crutches is the person who was already limping!
NON IS ALIVE!
He was limping from exhaustion and getting beat for over two weeks, so it would only take a little belladonna in his system for him to die or at least appear to die.
I've always believed there were two killers since the first episode, and I thought they were Tan and Phi, but Phi has ethics or whatever bullshit high horse he is on, yet that doesn't change my mind - There are two killers!
So, once again, Non is either alive or Tan is really the A+ student he has proven to be and got another partner.
LET'S GO, FINALE!
#Non is alive#Tan will walk out of this alive#dead friend forever#and let Tan get a guy!#putting the slash in slasher#Keng better be dead!

Some viewers are saying that a story of revenge is too tropey and Phi/Non endgame is “too predictable”. But there are so many twists and turns that I’m surprised every week and I gave up guessing; ANY outcome/explanation for ghost/mundane murder-fuckiness makes sense. DFF is basically a choose-your-own adventure. I personally love revenge stories because it’s so satisfying when wrongs are righted. I really hope we see Phi/Non reunite; I will lose my shit (again) if that turns out to be the case - just like I lost my shit with the reveal that they were lovers. Please start a PhiNon Supporters club where we can all wear matching membership bracelets!
Anon, one of the major reasons I'm enjoying Dead Friend Forever, which in its current moment in the story is not very enjoyable, is because all theories are possible. I agree with you that this is really choose your own adventure!
If you are defending Fluke, skip to page 87! If you ship Jin x Phi, go to page 129. If you think Tee should be spared, flip to the end. If you think White is an innocent bystander, stay on the current page, but if you think he is New instead of Tan being New, go to page 95. If you think Phi is actually the worst offender, move to the next chapter. If you want to know who Perth is in this story, keep reading!
I'm scrolling through the tags enjoying each person's take and desires for the series because they are all different. And, of course, some people aren't enjoying the series, which happens with all shows. Others feel it's predictable while you and I think this could end six different ways. Like you wrote, any outcome is going to make sense to me because every action up until this point has made sense to me, (except Fluke cancelling the Uber). The conversations are all over the place and about twelve different things. I LOVE IT!
Also, as a person who actively maintains a Grudge Garden and a Petty Prison where I nurture my grievances against shows, I think disliking a show for trivial reasons is acceptable. If people hate the idea of Phi and Non being together in the end because it feels predictable to them, that has nothing to do with me and how I'm interacting with the show, so I remain unbothered by it.
But as for what I am concerned about, if Dead Friend Forever and BOC wanted to sell merch from this series in order to raise funds for upcoming projects (praying 4 Minutes is Bible x Fluke, amen), a simple red bracelet would be the only item I'd need because this Phi x Non ship ain't sailing itself!
#I am a Phi x Non shipper#which is wild in a show about murder#I can live off the episode seven crumbs for decades#dead friend forever the series#phi x non endgame#this is your daily reminder that I think non is alive#and I want another red bracelet#take my money BOC#so I can get 4 minutes faster#let my ship help another ship sail
