DP x DC Prompt: The New Teacher
(So, I've seen a lot of prompts that have Danny go to Gotham and be a teacher but I don't remember seeing any with it in this direction, so on the chance that this is an original idea here we go!)
Jason was given a choice, or multiple choices. Babysit the Replacement on a mission that could last a week, go to Bludhaven and have some 'brother bonding time' with Dick who needed backup on a big case, or take a temp solo-gig in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere called Amity Park.
Well, considering he was still a bit hurt about the fact that B replaced him all those years ago and the pit loved to grab hold of that bit of frustrations towards his younger brother, that didn't seem like a smart idea. Dick wasn't an option either because he knew that would lead to 'talking about feelings' and other shit that he didn't want to do.
So he took the solo-gig.
It was supposed to be easy, at least that's what had been implied by the others he'd spoken to about the case. It seemed like most of the Justice League thought this situation was being 'exaggerated' because most of the time when somebody checked out what was going on there was nothing happening. No big take over, or kidnapping, or 'end of the world' situation, but there had been too many calls to put Bruce's mind at ease. The frequent calls mixed with the fact that the Government apparently had the area under a 'black out' made Bruce even more nervous.
Hell, if it hadn't been for the fact that Bruce was famous and that Scarecrow, Penguin and Riddler had all escaped from Arkham he would have been doing the case himself.
Which is how Jason ended up in a restraunt named 'Nasty Burger' looking at the news papers he had managed to get from a stand down the street while taking notes of things he had already seen. It wasn't just that the Government had cut them off, all of the tech in the city was easily 20 years outdated compared to the rest of the world.
Nokia phones, chunky computers, hell he'd even seen a kid with a PDA of all things. Thankfully, it looked like his tech still worked other than running slower than it should have, but thanks to modifications made by Barbara and Tim things were running better than he expected. But, they did struggle to have access to anything, specifically the news.
Hence the paper.
Ghost Boy: Friend or Fiend. A new vote cast by the city has found that the Ghost Boy - Danny Phantom - has had an astounding rise in support after the events over the Christmas Holiday. The new polls suggest that 43% of Citizens support Danny Phantom, with the majority of his support coming from the students at Casper High who insist that Phantom is a hero who has saved them countless times over the past few months. 49% of people still agree, however, that Phantom appears to be at the center of the majority of the attacks with many still claiming that he is the sole cause of the attacks. However, 8% of the population remain undecided, including many teachers, police and hospital staff. Upon seeing the new results of the pole Mayor Montez had this to say; "While I will admit that Phantom appears to favor the younger generation and frequently seems to come to their aid, we cannot forget what it has done in the past. Taken hostages, injured innocents, and caused millions in property damage. Phantom may not be a 'villain' in the typical sense of the word, but we shouldn't blindly trust him just because of a few good deeds."
So there was a... hero? Half hero - potentially villain - in Amity Park? That might have explained some of the calls they'd gotten from Amity park over the past few months. Still, he was concerned by some parts of the report.
Students at a high school were frequently coming under attack? So much that this potential-villain kept saving them? Just what was the cause? What could cause so many issues?
Jason looked up as he saw that same PDA kid talking with a girl with short black hair in a half-ponytail who was wearing a black crop-top. The girl seemed annoyed while the boy seemed worried about something.
"But it's Vlad, Sam... what if he does something?" He heard the boy whisper, "We should go back him up..."
"He doesn't need our help, besides Jazz ran away from home, remember? She got herself into this mess it's her problem to get out of it. Something that Danny should have learned a long time ago."
Jason frowned, pretending not to hear them as he hesitated then got up and walked over to the two younger teens. "Hey, excuse me."
The girl looked annoyed and suspicious while the boy looked confused.
"Uh, yeah?" Tucker asked.
"Hey, sorry to bug you both. But could you guys tell me about this... 'Danny Phantom' person?" He asked, holding the newspaper out.
The girl looked even more suspicious, "And... who are you?"
"And how haven't you heard of Phantom?" Asked the boy.
"I just moved to town." Jason admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. "So, I'm just trying to catch up on all the town drama."
"You moved to Amity Park... willingly? Psh, what do you have, a deathwish?" The girl grumbled.
"Come on, I just moved from Gotham, which is worse?"
The girl blinked as the boy laughed.
"Furries vs Ghosts, who will win~" He said as the girl elbowed him. "Ow! What?!"
"Danny Phantom is a hero." The girl explained, "He showed up in April and has been protecting the town since."
"A hero, huh? Could always use more of those in the world, but the mayor seems to have it out for him."
Tucker sighed, "No kidding, man. Somebody framed Phantom for something really bad and no matter what he does to try to fix it the city just see's that incident as the only thing he's ever done. It was the first big 'public thing' outside of the high school so it was huge but it wasn't his fault."
The girl reached for her phone suddenly, looking at it before she answered. "Hey, Danny. What's up?" She was quiet for a moment, "Yeah, we're at Nasty Burger, wanna join us? Lunch on me?"
A quiet mumble came through the speaker before she smirked.
"I'll order for you then. Double or triple?"
More mumbles.
"Triple it is. See you soon." She said, then hung up. "Come on, Tuck, Danny is on his way for lunch."
"Hell yeah, see you later, dude." The boy said, then jogged off with the girl.
"A teacher? Yeah, it looks like there's some openings but why would you want to have your cover as a teacher?" Oracle asked as Jason sat in his hotel room, looking through the paper again.
"Most of the incidents seem to surround the High School, I want to see what's going on."
Oracle hummed, typing for a moment. "Alright, well as luck will have it, it looks like teachers are sparse at Amity High, at least from what I'm able to get using your connection... which is infuriatingly slow, by the way, are you sure you did it right?"
"I've done it a million times, of course I did it right."
Oracle grumbled, "Stupid Amity black-out. Okay, so you have options. Most of the teachers have fucked off so all of the teachers in Freshmen year switch around to cover lessons or do mixed lessons. For example the English teacher also teaches Math and the normal Math teacher also teaches Science. So it looks like you could have any position you want and the school would just shuffle around the teachers."
"You said English is taken, right?"
"Yep, the teacher is named William Lancer and he- oh... wait, he's on a leave of absence due to injuries he suffered over Christmas Break. Concussion, broken arm, and bruised ribs, he'll be out for a few weeks."
Jason smirked, "Perfect. Sign me up."
". . . Jason, the English and Math teacher... never thought I'd see the day. Alright, I'll type up your application, send it in and casually push it to the front of the line. You'll be official by the time Winter Break ends in a few days. So get studying."
"Sounds like a plan, but I'll be fine, I mean our family is crazy and i deal with criminals on a nightly basis. How hard could this assignment really be?"
He would regret asking that question by the end of his first day as an Amity High School teacher.

the albums of my life in no particular order
#1 Greyson Chance's Hold On 'Til The Night (2011)
the very first physical album I've ever bought for myself, spent a month and a half saving up to buy this after my elementary graduation. i took care of it so much that the case broke LOL
fave song/s: Home Is In Your Eyes, Little London Girl (became my alarm ringtone!), Summertrain (adult me loved this), Stranded (my imaginative self imagined a whole MV for this song), Running Away (man this song resonates more to me as an adult PLS), Light Up The Dark, Fire (cover) (I love this cover sm!)
#2 One Direction's Take Me Home (2012)
the second album I bought! got the Yearbook Edition alongside Niall's cardigan from Penshoppe (both are still with me!!) LMAO this album reminds me so much of high school, so nostalgic. one of my classmates gifted me a folder filled with printed lyrics so I had every song memorized. i also remembered that I used to make jingles with some of the songs' tunes from this album!!
fave song/s: Change My Mind, Over Again (it enhanced my "rapping" skills LOL), Nobody Compares
#3 Taylor Swift's RED (2012) (linked is Taylor's Version!)
this album reminds me of my first and only vacation on my uncle's city, my Samsung GT-C3222 that was stolen when I was on my way home LOL. also I (still) have Myx Magazine Taylor Swift special edition filled with all her lyrics up until her Red album. also it reminded me of Cornetto!
fave song/s: State of Grace, The Lucky One
#4 5 Seconds of Summer's debut album (2014)
this reminded me of that specific* person LMAO whenever I listen to this album, I think of him and how he's doing, and if things were different, would we have a chance? EME LAMANG! anyways only the REAL ones that Heartbreak Girl and Try Hard sound different on this album compared to their pre-releases. my sister also loved this album, her fave is English Love Affair!
fave song/s: Heartbreak Girl, Long Way Home, Try Hard, If You Don't Know (I know it's not on the album, it's from Don't Stop EP BUT I love this song sm), Try Hard (the old version!! linking it below)
youtube
#5 Justin Bieber's Purpose (2015)
i remember asking for an illegally downloaded copy of this album along with One Direction's Made In the AM. both reminded me of my last year of junior high school and my old Nokia N8 phone (and the ringback tones of my classmates (and ex); it was either What Do You Mean or Sorry LOL)
fave song/s: No Pressure (on repeat!!), The Feeling
#5 BTS' Love Yourself 轉 Tear (2018)
when One Direction had their (FAKE!!) hiatus back in 2015, I never followed any musical artist so I embarked on my 2-year journey of being a Potterhead and a Dramione shipper LMAO I knew BTS since I was 13 but never really focused on them because I was busy focusing on 1D pls,, anyways this album has a great impact on me, I never knew that the first time I watched Fake Love's MV (with subtitles) that I would love them this much. (also, the track listing??? chef's kiss!)
fave song/s: 134340, Paradise, Love Maze, Outro: Tear
#6 BTS' MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA (2019)
this album reminds me of anything pre-pandemic. it was 2019, my dog just gave birth to three puppies (only one survived, which is Chimmy), I shifted programs and finally felt that everything was falling into place. it made me appreciate the color pink. everything was great.
fave song/s: Boy With Luv, Jamais Vu
#7 BTS' MAP OF THE SOUL: 7
i still can remember how everyone was so excited about this album. no, this isn't just an album, it was a milestone. 7 years for my one true 7. it was such a grand scale album, performance-wise, lyricism-wise, concept-wise, until hell broke loose.
fave songs: Interlude: Shadow, Black Swan (the orchestra version!!), UGH!, We are Bulletproof: The Eternal
youtube
#8 RM's mono. (2018)
ah. RM's mono. where should i start? is it possible for an album to see through your soul? i don't know. but this one did. and it became a source of solace. a warm embrace. even up until now, it's my very special friend.
fave song/s: everythingoes
(will put the continuation of this post on a reblog since I already exceeded my 10 audio/video URLs LOL)

RWBY volume 1 rewrite
1. The opening narration is also the introduction to Salem as a villain, and kind of shows cinder. It explains some actually important stuff.
2. Ruby is consistently building and playing with her weapon. She also opens up at some point about losing her mother to a mysterious scary figure who wanted to wipe out all silver eyed people.
3. Ren is basically combined with sun, and Nora is combined with penny. Ren/sun is named Ren Wukong. Penny/Nora is named something like Nokia, because it’s like Pinocchio the way penny was kind of Pinocchio, but also starts with an N like in JNPR. (Edit: I didn't know nokia was the name of a phone before, and now I refuse to change it. I'll lampshade it.)
4. Jaune is introduced as a cocky overconfident teen, and Phyrra has to humble him. There is no Jaune bully arc. Just him opening up to Phyrra about his problems and accepting he has stuff to learn.
5. Weiss genuinely bonds with Ruby at the start, then yang, then Blake. She does not want to change the family by being a huntress, she became a huntress because she hates her parents and wants to avoid him.
6. The volume 2 bonding scene happens in volume 1, as we learn why these characters want to be huntresses.
7. Cinder is there as a student, giving info to Salem and being part of a team with Cardin, Emerald, and Mercury. No idea what the team new team name would be.
8. Blake comes out as a Faunus during the bonding scene, and instead of Scarlett being bullied by Cardin, it’s Faunus Ren.
9. There is no white fang stuff this season. It’s all the beacon entrance exam, which happens before they can get in.
10. The final villain is a discord grim that pulls them apart, and gains strength from their arguing, and cinder specifically is the one who pulls them apart.
11. The monster is trying to steal the relic, and team RWBY saves it but are left wondering what it is. The reason Ruby cares is because she remembers her mother dying trying to protect it.
12. Yang learns to be less of a reckless loose cannon, and play along better with her team. Blake learns to trust people again after seeing everything fall apart with Adam. We learn about the white fang itself later.

What colour is the photo frame closest to you? Green.
Are your pets asleep right now, if you have any? I won't be able to confirm for sure for you since I'm already all wrapped up in bed haha, but there is a very good chance they are. They generally treat crate time automatically as sleep time.
Would you have any idea what your parents are doing right now? My mom's asleep, I assume my dad is beginning work, if he does have to work today. I've never asked him if he works even weekends.
How many windows (roughly) does your house have? I think a good guesstimate would be around 15-20.
Do you have a good relationship with your cousins? I have a good relationship with 99% of them, but I am not necessarily close with all of them.
What was the last kids movie you saw? I'm not sure. It may have been Turning Red a couple of years ago.
Do you know anyone who was born in Africa? I don't think so.
Have you ever been to an internet cafe? Yeah. I was in one just a few years ago to get something printed; they're still relatively common here as not all households have internet.
Are there any upcoming events for you to look forward to? There's Wrestlemania next month which'll be two days; two weeks after that it'll be my birthday.
Has the year gone quickly for you so far? It has. It's weird that it'll be April soon and I'll be celebrating another birthday already; but at the same time it all also feels kind of funny considering January alone felt like 500 years, but then February and March happened/is happening in a flash.
How many siblings does your significant other have? I don't have one.
Are you one of those people who can drink vodka straight? No. I did that once when I was 19, never repeated it.
Have you ever done three or more shots in a row? Not in a row I don't want to die. The most I've done was take them in, like, 5-minute intervals.
Do you share a middle name with any of your friends? Nope.
Are you interested in international politics? I like to keep generally updated on news, but I don't study specifics.
How many pairs of jeans do you own? I have around five pairs of jeans, the rest are different types of pants.
When was the last time you showered? This morning, around 3 AM before I had to leave for work.
Do you know the name of the pharmacist at your local drug store? Nope.
What was the first cellphone you had and how old were you when you got it? I had a Nokia 3310 that had a Winnie the Pooh sleeve; I got it for my 7th birthday. Peer pressure is stupid. Like I'm grateful to my parents for giving into my (ridiculous) wish and getting me a phone, but I wish I never felt like I needed one at that age.
Do you use public transport in your town or city? No.
Have your parents ever worked in a factory? They have not. They started and have stayed in the hospitality industry in the 30+ years they've been working.
Do you have several best friends? Yes.
How many lights are in the room you’re in? I have one ceiling lamp, then one desk lamp.
Is there a Hard Rock Cafe in your town or city? Not here, no. I'll have to go to Makati to visit the Hard Rock we have.
Do you eat fast food more than once a week? No; I'd say once a week itself is the average for me.
What flavour is your toothpaste? Just mint.
Have you ever shared a shower or bath with someone as an adult? Sure.
When was the last time you had a bubble bath? Years ago. I prefer showers.
Are you sleepy right now? Getting there.
How big is your backyard? Spacious enough to hold a party or for the dogs to run crazily around.
Do you know anyone with Tourette’s Syndrome? Continued from Sunday. I might? Andi has a set of sounds and movements that would come up every few minutes, but I've never asked about them.
What time does your alarm wake you up in the morning? I don't have any; my body takes care of waking me up anywhere from 6 AM to 8 AM.
What was the last zoo you visited? I've never been to a zoo.
Do you like crime films and tv shows? I like watching true crime stuff, but usually as YouTube mini-documentaries that talk about real cases.
When you shop, do you take a basket or a cart (trolley)? I mean, it depends on how many things I need to get.
Have you ever tasted milk straight from the cow? I haven't.
What’s your favourite sleeping position? On either side, hugging a pillow.
What colour is the bra you’re wearing? I'm not wearing a bra; I'm at home.
Have you ever seen A Clockwork Orange? I have.
Are you bitter about anything? Ohohohoho yes, very much yes.
Do you like to make games out of chores to make them more enjoyable? No.
How many letters are in your best friend’s surname? Seven.
Is there anything in your possession that probably shouldn’t be? Mmm, I don't think so.
What is your favourite flavour of yoghurt? I find yogurt nasty.
What was the first online account you remember having? Discounting emails, I think it may have been Twitter? Either that or Livejournal.
Do you listen to music to fall asleep? Not music, but I have YouTube on and let it go into autoplay.
Where did you go last time you left your town or city? Not counting Metro Manila since I go in and out of there almost everyday, it would be last Friday when I went to Batangas for a company outing.
Do you use emojis? Yes.
Have you ever wanted to be a lawyer? For a period. Then I realized I wouldn't make it past a day in law school and promptly let go of that 'dream.'
What percentage of battery does your phone currently have? 76%.
What was the last type of soda you drank? Not sure...either a Pepsi or Coke Zero when there was nothing else to drink. I don't like soda.
How far away from your house is your favourite place to shop for clothes? 15 minutes.
Do you have supplies handy right now to draw something if I told you to? Yups.
Have you ever been married? Nopes.
What does your deodorant smell like? Baby powder.
Is your bedroom more messy or clean at the moment? A little messy, but it's not a shitshow. There are just a couple of things not in their proper place at the moment.
Do you use Twitter? Yup. Not nearly as much as I used to, but I still check it at least once a day just to see what everyone's up to.
Are you any good at baking cakes and cookies from scratch? No.
Is there a floor lamp in your bedroom? There isn't.
What does most of your weekly or fortnightly income go towards? Savings. I hardly touch my money these days except for when I want to buy food.
Have you ever been to another continent? I haven't.
Do you have any hidden piercings? (this includes bellybuttons) I don't.
What month is your birthday? April.
What can you hear right now? One Direction, hehehehe

Virgin Galactic Implements Workforce Reduction as Focus Shifts to Next-Generation Suborbital Vehicle
Virgin Galactic has made the strategic decision to reduce its workforce and cut down on expenses as it shifts its attention towards the development of the Delta class of suborbital spaceplanes. This move is aimed at conserving resources and prioritizing the company’s future endeavors.
While specific details, such as the number of employees being affected, were not provided, the company mentioned that the process of notifying impacted employees is ongoing. Further information on these changes will be presented during the company’s scheduled earnings call on November 8.
The company also disclosed that its facilities would remain closed for the week. According to Virgin Galactic’s annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in February, the company had 1,166 employees as of the end of 2022.
The Focus on Delta Class
Michael Colglazier, CEO of Virgin Galactic, highlighted that these workforce reductions and cost-cutting measures are in alignment with the company’s commitment to preserving its financial resources for the development of the Delta class of spaceplanes. The Delta vehicles are envisioned to offer more frequent and cost-effective suborbital flights, distinguishing them from the existing SpaceShipTwo suborbital vehicle, VSS Unity.
Colglazier also pointed out the “uncertainty” in the markets, attributing it to high-interest rates and geopolitical events. He emphasized that such uncertainty has made it less favorable to access capital in the near term. In light of this, the company aims to direct its resources towards the Delta program, while streamlining and minimizing activities outside this program.
In his message to employees, Colglazier stated, “The Delta ships are powerful economic engines,” and continued, “To bring them into service, we need to extend our strong financial position and reduce our reliance on unpredictable capital markets. We will accomplish this, but it requires us to redirect our resources toward the Delta ships while streamlining and reducing our work outside of the Delta program.”
Financial Snapshot and Future Projections
Virgin Galactic reported having $980 million in cash and equivalents at the close of the second quarter of the current year, coinciding with a net loss of $134.4 million. Although the estimated costs for developing the Delta vehicles were not disclosed, the company anticipates their entry into service by 2026. While the existing VSS Unity can accommodate up to four customers per monthly flight, the company projects only limited revenue from it.
Previous Cost-Cutting Measures
The company had previously implemented cost-saving measures, including delaying work on a new line of mothership aircraft by approximately a year, which are responsible for carrying the Delta-class spaceplanes into the air. The decision was made considering the possibility of utilizing the current mothership aircraft, VMS Eve, for test flights of Delta-class vehicles. Virgin Galactic had also deprioritized the introduction of another spaceplane, VSS Imagine, before the rollout of the Delta line of vehicles.
It remains to be seen how these workforce reductions will impact the operations of VSS Unity, especially after it recently completed its fifth commercial flight, Galactic 05, carrying two researchers and a private astronaut. With VMS Eve, both vehicles are now set to undergo annual maintenance, with flights resuming in January, as announced by the company.
Virgin Galactic is navigating through a crucial phase in its journey, making tough decisions to ensure it remains on track for its ambitious plans in the space tourism industry. The strategic realignment underscores the challenges and uncertainties that are often associated with groundbreaking endeavors in space exploration.

My Day in a Life with Technology
We live in the 21st Century, wherein technology is apparent and continuously progressing. Back then, people would send snail mail or letters to others who lived far from them, and now, it's easier for us to connect with people worldwide with a few clicks. In addition, they would also have to adjust the antenna of their televisions to get a better resolution of the show they were watching. Today, we can watch our favorite shows through our widescreen 4k resolution LED televisions that we can also connect through our WIFI's. Other examples of old nostalgic technologies replaced by fast modern technologies and software were VHS tapes, cassette or MP3 players, Nokia 3310, and old film cameras. Of course, I also benefited and became reliable to the modern technologies and applications I use because those worked quickly and effectively. Each application I use has its purpose, which helps me manage my daily needs and leisure. Here are the applications that I use daily (organized by categories):
BASIC NEEDS (DELIVERY AND TRANSPORTATION)
Grab
Grab Holdings Inc. is a multinational enterprise originally located in One-North Singapore. It is an application utilized on mobile phones that features ride services, food and grocery delivery, and online payments in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. During the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein social distancing is highly encouraged, the number of partnered merchants, riders, and users increased due to its contactless delivery.
In my case, I often use it for food delivery during my hectic schedule since I have no time to cook. After I place my food order, the application will display the rider's name, plate number, and location. I can either choose online or cash on delivery payment after the rider successfully delivers my food. Besides that, I also use GrabCar if I'm not familiar with the place I'll go. In addition, I rarely use GrabExpress (a feature that allows users to deliver documents and other essentials to a specific address) when I live far from the target location. I also have the option to rate riders and give comments or suggestions depending on my satisfaction with the service.
Hence, Grab became a useful application for me in transportation, and, food and document delivery.
Angkas
Angkas, a trading enterprise by DBDOYC Inc., offers motorcycle service (Angkas Passenger) and package delivery (Angkas Padala). Recently, it has had 8 million downloads, with a safety record of 99.997%, and passengers can always book a ride at any time.
Angkas riders did a great job with transportation services, for they also send automatic customized messages to the passengers before they arrive at their location. The message is mostly about safety precautions and protocols, which include (the passengers) wearing a face mask, hair cap, and closed shoes, and they may tap the riders' shoulder if they're uncomfortable with the speed. Before traveling, the riders ensure the passengers' helmets are safely placed and locked, and offer a raincoat during rainy days.
I use the Angkas application because it helps me arrive at the location at an earlier estimated time during traffic. It is also cheaper than any other service application because it offers a student promo code.
Shopee
Shopee Pte. Ltd., otherwise known as Shopee, is another Singaporean multinational enterprise specializing in online businesses available across countries in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Latin America. Shopee became an online platform for sellers starting up businesses and buyers purchasing items over long distances.
I use Shopee because any items are available, and it also offers promo codes and sales during specific dates, such as 8.8 or 12.12. I also have the choice to refund the items within three days if the item delivered was defective on arrival. From my perspective, Shopee is like an "online ukay-ukay" because the dresses and shoes are produced in high quality marked with low price.
JW Library
JW Library is an official application created by Jehovah's Witnesses, which features the bible in multiple languages, electronic versions of publications, books, brochures, magazines, and Bible-based music and videos. It can also be downloaded by anyone interested in learning more about the bible.
It aids my spiritual needs and goals because I read daily text first thing in the morning, and proceed to learn more about practical advice supported by bible principles and research, which can be found in reference books.
SCHOOL (ORGANIZATION AND LEARNING ASSISTANTS)
CALENDAR (APPLE)
Calendar is created by Apple Inc. and is available in any Apple Operating Software. It features setting color-coded appointments and events and enables multiple calendar views to avoid schedule conflicts.
I prefer displaying the calendar widget on my home screen as a constant reminder to myself. Besides that, I can also easily monitor my tasks in a day without forgetting other tasks that aren't school-related. Hence, the calendar helps me organize my daily schedule.
Canva
Canva is an Australian multinational graphic design company that features social media graphics and templates for different types of letters. I use Canva for creating PowerPoint, documents, and letters by selecting appealing templates for my chosen theme. Additionally, it isn't complicated to design the website because it features categories for each template and document type. Moreover, there's also a toolbox, useful for choosing different fonts and inserting other pictures and elements for a more enticing document.
Canvas Instructure
Instructure, Inc. established a learning management system known as Canvas or Canvas LMS. Nowadays, different schools worldwide use Canvas, enabling teachers and students to engage in online synchronous learning, such as posting files and modules, submitting assignments, and interacting with each other using inboxes and discussion boards.
Canvas helps me track my assignments because it is synced to my phone calendar and notifies me every time an assignment's deadline is near. Also, the modules and files are easily downloadable; therefore, I can study any time I want. Lastly, if I have any concerns or questions regarding my schoolwork or attendance, I can reach out to my professors by sending my messages through inbox.
Google Meet
Google Meet was created by Google, which allows users to communicate online despite long distances. Users have the option to turn on the cameras if they want to show themselves. Aside from that, users can also present the current software or tab they're using by using screen share. This application became useful during the COVID-19 pandemic to students and teachers for the education system to proceed amidst social protocols.
Until now, the application has been significant for me, especially during online learning, because it reduces transportation costs and efficiently becomes a real-time interaction with professors and classmates.
Grammarly
The most commonly used American cloud-based typing assistant is Grammarly. Grammarly detects incorrect and inconsistent and suggests better and appropriate spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery in English works. The users have options to select writing goals and audience. Furthermore, it has a plagiarism detector and outlines suggestions available in Grammarly premium.
As a student, Grammarly became the most reliable website or application for writing essays and research. My overall score helps me be wary of my writing performance and adjust the necessary changes by clicking automatic suggestions.
POMOFOCUS.IO
Pomofocus.io is a website that has a timer based on the Pomodoro Technique. The timer is automatically set for 25 minutes for task focus and automatically set to 5 minutes afterward as a short break. Every 4th interval of 25 minutes would automatically be set to 15 minutes for a longer break.
The website helps me concentrate on my tasks and avoid procrastinating. Especially during exam week, the website assisted my focus while reviewing as I set all my notifications to "do not disturb." Also, it prevented me from feeling burned out because the long break every four sets of 25 minutes felt like a reward for me.
Quizlet
Quizlet is another multinational enterprise featuring different tools and learning modes, such as flashcards, learn, write, spell, and match.
If I'm tired after a long period of studying, Quizlet became my go-to application for preparing myself before exams. I mostly used flashcards for memorizing and familiarizing terms in Chemistry or Psychology classes. I also like to use the feature "learn" because it's a test-type learning mode with multiple choices and identification items.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Instagram
Instagram is a social networking service established by American company Meta Platforms. It allows users to post, edit, and tag the location of their images and comment or like on someone's post. Furthermore, users can also update their daily lives by using the "story" feature with many filters and posting their notes. In addition, users can follow their known circle of people or verified accounts of celebrities, companies, etc. Instagram's recent feature is reels, which feature viewable video clips that may also be commented on and shared. And of course, like any other social media, users can also message their followers through direct messages and even send pictures that may or may not disappear once viewed.
I like posting different aesthetically pleasing sceneries through Instagram. I also like to post about my thoughts and daily life through stories, exclusive for close friends only, as it limits audience views that I'm comfortable with. Besides that, I can follow my favorite celebrities and become updated on their feed.
Messenger
Messenger is an extension of Facebook, which allows users to communicate through chat and video calls. The users can also send pictures, stickers, videos, files, and voice messages and even react and reply to a particular message. It is available on any mobile phone and offers 111 languages. The usage of Messenger increased by 50% during the COVID-19 pandemic due to traffic utilization of group calls.
I mostly use it for communicating with others. The most useful feature is replying to a certain message, especially in group conversations because it prevents confusion among all group members.
Tiktok
Tiktok, developed by ByteDance, had more than 2 billion mobile downloads worldwide by October 2020. It features short clips ranging from 3 seconds to 10 minutes with background music that may be sped up, slowed down, or reversed. Moreover, the "For You" page features different videos based on the users' algorithm, and users may react, comment, and share it with others by copying links and saving the videos. For privacy or security purposes, users may set their account to private for their videos to reach limited audiences. Recently, Tiktok also has a "live" feed that allows users to stream real-time and ongoing video. The live feed is mostly used by game streamers or online sellers for auction. Lastly, TikTok also has an online shop for different products delivered through couriers.
I use TikTok during my free time because it allows me to view different relatable or funny clips on my feed. I can also interact with others by commenting. Nonetheless, I don't engage myself in TikTok challenges, for I am not confident enough to do those.
Twitter
Twitter, currently about to rebrand to X, is a social networking site that allows users to post texts, images, GIFS, and videos with limited words by "tweeting," commenting, liking, and reposting others' posts.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, its growth increased rapidly and became one of the most dangerous sites for posting misinformation about the pandemic. Thus, Twitter started reporting tweets with false information and citing links with verified sources for fact-checking.
Twitter helps me become updated with recent news happening locally and worldwide. I can also freely post my thoughts about a specific topic and ensure that my thoughts aren't offensive and reliable.
ENTERTAINMENT
Disney+
Disney+ is an American subscription video streaming service owned by Disney Entertainment. The application mainly shares films and series created by The Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as Star in some regions. Other production companies involving original series and films became available in Disney+ subsequently.
Disney+ became my go-to application during my free time and entertained myself with movies and series, such as Turning Red, Brave, Tangled, Avengers, and Modern Family.
How about you? What applications do you use to meet your needs? If you have any recommendations about organizing schedules, hit me up anytime because I would gladly like to know yours!

Nokia’s first flagship in years is now here
Nokia – the once top dog of the phone market – is back from the dead and we’ve just heard word of its first flagship phone since 2014.
HMD Global has taken on the Nokia brand and is creating phones with the name. We’ve already seen a few mid-range phones designed by the company, but the new Nokia 8 is the first time we’ve seen a flagship since the brand’s return.
The phone features a dual-sensor camera, a powerful chipset and a luscious new design, so read on below to learn everything you need to know about the new Nokia 8.
Cut to the chase
What is it? A flagship Nokia phone
When is it out? Announced August 16, released in September
What will it cost? Expensive at €599 (about £550, $700, AU$890)
Nokia 8 release date and price
Launched on August 16, release coming in September
Similar price to a lot of other flagships, not as low as expected
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The Nokia 8 is coming out around the world in September this year. An exact release date for the phone is currently unclear and we should hear more in the coming weeks.
We know for certain the Nokia 8 will be coming to the UK but there’s no word on whether it will be launching in the US and Australia. Once we know more we’ll be sure to update with more details.
Nokia 8 price in India, launch date, and design
The Nokia 8 will be available “globally” in early September, priced at equivalent of EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 45,000). An HMD Global representative told Gadgets 360 the Nokia 8 India launch will be in early October, and the Nokia 8 price in India will be known closer to launch.
Nokia 8 screen
A 5.3-inch screen, LCD panel
A QHD resolution, equaling 554 pixels-per-inch
The Nokia 8 features a strange size screen of 5.3 inches, which we’re not really used to on modern phones. It means it’s a little bit bigger than the screen on the Honor 9 and a bit smaller than the OnePlus 5 display.
It has a QHD resolution though which equals 554 pixels-per-inch, which is a high resolution, especially for a screen of that size. It can also reach a brightness high of 700 nits, which should mean it’s super bright and will be easy to read in bright sunlight.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Sadly the rumored edge-to-edge display hasn’t become a reality on the Nokia 8, with a representative for HMD Global saying that was to allow space for the front-facing fingerprint scanner and a super high-res sensor in the front camera.
Nokia 8 design
Slim metal shell design, with two different effects
Comes in two shiny effects or two matte designs
Design-wise the Nokia 8 comes with a slim metal shell that is 7.9mm at its thickest point and goes down to under 5mm at the edges. It’s a full-metal unibody so looks premium and has metal edges that make it look sleek overall.
It’s splashproof – IP54 rated to be exact – but not waterproof, so it will be okay in a slight rain shower but we wouldn’t recommend dipping this phone in the sink.
There are four different color options for the Nokia 8, two of which come with a shiny effect on the rear that are either blue or copper. There’s also a less shiny matte effect version of the phone that comes in either blue or silver.
The top edge of the phone has a 3.5mm headphone port while the bottom has a USB-C connector and that’s where the speaker sits too.
Under the screen there are buttons for navigation, and a fingerprint scanner in the center to help you unlock the phone quickly and securely.
Nokia 8 camera and battery
A dual-lens 13MP camera
Made in collaboration with Zeiss
A 3,090mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0
There’s a dual-sensor camera on the Nokia 8, which is a first for the company and should take some much better photography than the mid-range phones we saw earlier this year.
It uses an RGB (color) 13MP sensor in tandem with a monochrome 13MP sensor and combines the images taken from each to allow for better low-light photography. The monochrome sensor should pick up more detail as it’s only in black and white and should fold that into the full color image.
You’ll be able to shoot with just the monochrome camera too, but expect the resolution to be a little less as it’s just a 13MP sensor.
The front-facing shooter on the phone is also a 13MP sensor, which should allow for some phenomenal selfie shots. There’s a camera mode that allows you to shoot from both the front and rear cameras at the same time too, which Nokia is annoyingly calling #Bothie.
The battery on the Nokia 8 doesn’t sound great with it only being a 3,090mAh one, which may struggle considering the high-end spec and QHD resolution screen.
There’s Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech in here too and it all works through the USB-C port at the bottom of the phone. Don’t expect to be able to wirelessly charge the Nokia 8 though.
Nokia 8 internal specs and OS
A Snapdragon 835 chipset
4GB of RAM
64GB of storage with 256GB microSD support
Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 835 chipset is here and should mean you get a snappy experience while using the Nokia 8. That’s working alongside 4GB of RAM in the phone too.
Storage-wise you’ll have 64GB on board while there’s also microSD support of up to 256GB. The phone is also running Android 7.1.1 software and looks near enough stock, so if you’ve used a Google Pixel you’ll know the software inside out here.
Nokia 8 Specs:-
Weight: 160g Dimensions: 151.5 x 73.7 x 7.9mm OS: Android 7.1.1 Nougat Screen size: 5.3-inch Resolution: 1440 x 2560 CPU: Snapdragon 835 RAM: 4GB of RAM Storage: 64GB Battery: 3,090mAh Rear camera: 13MP + 13MP dual lens Front camera: 13MP
