there was a post asking if anyone has ever had the urge to write a fic for not just a side character, but a complete background character and yes, yes i have. the two that stand out is admittedly from when i sensed a lot of chemistry potential between the background character and a main character.
the first of course is skull and the lovely model from the scent of a weasel episode.
and you're going to have to hear me out for the second but it is rael from noblesse, and specifically from this scene in chapter 515 when he saved a civilian and it gave me massive spiderman vibes ...

DO YOU SEE MY VISION??
(i ask to the empty room of noblesse fans)
#i want to get back into the fandom more but there's crickets here on tumblr 😔#but if anyone is scouring the tags i hope the answer to my question is yes#like please this just did something to me#and i feel a little jelly of the civilian ngl 🫣#noblesse#noblesse webtoon#noblesse manhwa#rael kertia#my post#thoughts#fandom things

Wanderer AU - Part 2
My new Noblesse AU. Happy 2025!
Read part 1 first if you haven't:
Robin
Father of Invidia
One of Lord Alba’s high-ranking subordinates and also his childhood friend
Loyal to Alba but that unconditional loyalty reveals itself to be nothing more than conditional commitment after his own daughter is born; will only stay loyal to Alba as long as he doesn’t get in the way of his daughter’s best interests
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a whale
His life lesson as “Robin” is to learn when to let go
Polarized towards service-to-others, with many of his past incarnations adopting and raising orphaned children; his expression of love/act of service is giving newly individualized souls a chance to thrive in this world, but his inability to let go of particular individuals means that he is blind to see when a separation of paths is necessary for his own wellbeing
Noted by many to bear striking resemblance to Alba’s wife even though they aren’t remotely related
As his name suggests, adores birds and has had many pet birds since his childhood but tragically loses two of his three birds after a very young Invidia unlocks the cage, reaches inside and snaps the birds’ necks, even propping up their lifeless bodies with wire so Robin wouldn’t notice immediately… after calmly returning to her room, she plays with her fistful of feathers while her poor father’s mournful wails tickle her eardrums
Sends his other family pets away to a relative’s residence after he concludes he can’t possibly protect them from his daughter, unless he sends her away
Raises Invidia alone as her mother is no longer in the picture; she and Robin have decided it’d be best for him to be their daughter’s sole caretaker and he sometimes finds himself contemplating whether this was the right decision
Tries his best to discipline his daughter but only ever scolds her no matter how heinous her actions get, partially blaming himself for his inability to provide her with the mental stimulation she needs for her extraordinary intellect thus agrees to her request to turn half of his enormous basement into a “study area”
Genuinely believed that he could satisfy Invidia by fulfilling her simple request, only to be shocked by horror after horror when he finally decides to visit her in her “study area”
Finds severely mutilated human and animal corpses, as well as those on the brink of death groaning and choking on blood begging for mercy; comes face to face with his daughter who nonchalantly greets him, leaning on the edge of table playing with the corners of her robe while reassuring her father that he doesn’t need to worry about her being irresponsible as she will wash her bloodstained clothes herself instead of subjecting the servants to such a tedious task
Discovers the truth behind why his household’s allotted bloodstones were running out at a suspiciously rapid rate, when he confirms with his own eyes that his daughter had been dissecting her test subjects to implant bloodstones inside their chests, skulls, abdomens etc. with her immaculate stitch work indicating that this is definitely the result of years of experience
Slowly pieces together why several servants on vacation leave are late to return, and after finally getting Invidia to admit whom these corpses belong to, finds out she had also stolen a considerable amount money from him to buy “specimens” from all over the country, because they were going to “die a meaningless death anyway” and she couldn’t “waste the opportunity”
Under extreme pressure as he decides the next step to take for his and his daughter’s future because she will be put to death or jailed for life if her crimes become exposed, and ultimately orders her to pause all activity while he figures out something for the both of them; she simply yawns and waves at him with the back of her hand, telling him to hurry up or else her specimens will lose their freshness and expire
Sometimes good intentions lead to the worst results, as Robin then kneels and pleads with his “higher self”, asking his guardians for guidance on what he should do in this life-and-death situation; although his soul is benevolent, his desperation clouds his best judgement and he fails to discern the nature of the energy manifesting itself in front of him, ultimately accepting a malicious entity disguised as a positive entity as his guardian
In his visions, sees a fish-like creature introducing itself as the “Kravei”; it first pretends to feel sympathy for his woes then slowly poisons his mind, convincing him that Invidia is just another child in need of help and he is not to abandon her as her father if he truly wishes for her wellbeing etc.
The “Kravei” group does not have a physical form like all other entities, but was able to peek into Robin’s mind thus took on the form of a “guardian” that would be the most persuasive after learning of his special love for the sea
Defeated and distraught, makes the hard decision of abandoning his title, estate, and family to escape Rukedonya, taking Invidia with him so she could avoid punishment except she protests then weeps, mumbling through her fake tears that she’d rather die than leave the country; as a good/bad father, he gives in to her unreasonable request once more and opts for a small residence on the opposite end of the country, distancing himself and his criminal daughter from Alba and the other elites as much as possible
Has no idea his daughter is pregnant at the time of their escape, only when her belly begins to show
Demands the identity of the father to no avail
Makes Invidia promise him that she’d behave properly and live a humble life with the second chance he had sacrificed everything to give her, even though every last bit of his conscience is screaming to him that he’s only lying to himself
Works part-time jobs to build their life back up from scratch; although he had prepared some funds prior to their escape, standing out too much would be an immediate red flag so he limits their lifestyle to that of a simple commoner’s
Knows Invidia is most likely still committing harrowing crimes behind his back and that he has no power to stop her, yet he cannot ever bring himself to turn her in, because maybe there is still a chance she might recognize her wrongdoings, and then he’d be the ever so cruel and heartless father who sentences his own daughter to death without giving her one last chance
Never gets to meet his grandchild as Invidia abandons her baby right after giving birth to him, on top of running away to give birth far from home so her father wouldn’t be able to locate her
Still searching for his grandchild to this day despite Invidia’s objections, ignoring her as she gives herself credit for culling the extra mouth to feed, and that she’s just being considerate on daddy dearest’s behalf because that’s what good daughters do
Gradually lowers his threshold for Invidia’s insanity, holding her accountable less and less as a result of prolonged exposure plus the “Kravei” leading him astray from his core beliefs; they successfully coerce him into sharing Invidia’s karma with her which stops his polarization towards service-for-others altogether, and pulls him into polarizing towards service-to-self
With just a little more emotional manipulation, he promises to be responsible for Invidia as long as her soul needs help, officially trapping himself with her negative karma until she graduates from Earth
Will continue to be Invidia’s parent in future incarnations
Gladly lives his life as a fugitive as long as his daughter is alive
At one point offers his own body to Invidia as a specimen for her to conduct her inhumane experiments on, in one final attempt to divert her attention from harming someone else to which she tilts her head feigning concern, embracing him while whispering into his ears how he must be in pristine condition to protect her so she won’t accept his offer though she admits it’s a tempting one
Falls in love with a local villager named Eliza who has no idea he is a highly wanted fugitive; looks to the side whenever she occasionally remarks how his vocabulary and overall mannerisms don’t reflect his class, but she doesn’t suspect much otherwise
Lies to Eliza and explains how he used to work for a noble, which is why he must’ve picked up on their habits over the years
Fears for Eliza’s life when she brings him the news of her pregnancy because he couldn’t predict Invidia’s reaction anymore, and to his surprise his daughter is unusually supportive of his budding love life and new family member, which brings him relief
Has a son with Eliza who gets along with his much older sister, looking up to her as his role model
Occasionally misses his days of luxury but learns to appreciate a simple lifestyle, especially after meeting his current wife
Almost forgets he’s a fugitive and passively accepts how his daughter is still destroying families and ruining lives, but is content with what is as long as she’s doing well
Apologetic to Lord Alba but would still choose Invidia over the greater good even if he could turn back time; self-justifies his motives until every ounce of remorse simply dissipates
Goes by a different name as a fugitive
His son with Eliza eventually senses something isn’t quite right as he gets older… he’s clearly upset but doesn’t say much, worrying about his mother’s safety while quietly observing his father and sister
Doesn’t live very long due to the stress accumulated throughout his life, but on the bright side Invidia doesn’t mourn him much, as expected
Confessed to Di Lu’s mother in his youth but she didn’t like him back at all; it would’ve been a very different story if she did
Will be Invidia’s parent again in their next incarnations together
Invidia
Daughter of Robin, and the mother of Laurie whom she has with Kalev
Conceives Laurie when she is around seventeen which is when her fling with Kalev ends, and gives birth to Laurie when she is around eighteen
A genius who makes leg prosthetics for Lord Alba as a young child, giving him newer and improved models once or twice a year
Amazes all with her extremely innovative projects, which don’t excuse but definitely conveniently distract people from noticing her questionable behavior
Showered in praise by adults, but sees all praise as shallow because she’s fully aware of the extent of her own skills and doesn’t need any external validation
Makes Alba’s leg prosthetics not out of goodwill but pity as she considers a wounded animal unfit for the throne and Alba is the textbook example of an inferior representative, therefore delivers her invention to him as a means to remove one annoying sight from her field of view, never registering her own deeds as kind gestures
Wonders why Karl isn’t their lord when he is clearly the better choice, but whose buttocks warm the boring throne is ultimately none of her business
Rather strange and solitary, never socializing much with the other elite children and only showing up only when her appearance is demanded
Gets in trouble for pulling on Rosella’s hair and even yanking out a small lock because she was dying to know whether body parts of a sorcerer’s lineage carried any magical properties themselves; after pocketing the hair and experimenting on it back home, to her immense disappointment, no they in fact are not special
Rudely brushes aside Di Lu’s side-swept bangs, gleefully telling “her” that she’d like to collect “her” odd eye if “she” isn’t planning to use it and has it all covered up, with a certain playfulness in her tone of voice that could be interpreted as her simply joking around and giving a somewhat tactless, backhanded compliment instead of perhaps a serious sign of something much more sinister
Stops the “harmless” bullying of her peers once she hits the age where petty behavior is no longer excusable, becomes even more socially withdrawn
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before her first incarnation as a human, she was a snake
Steadily polarizing towards service-to-self, and decided on her direction of polarization only a few incarnations ago, but is making great progress
Her life lesson as “Invidia” is to learn to appreciate living organisms, finding success as she strives to break the boundaries of physical limitations through body modifications
Like an innocent child, sweetly cradles her face in her hands while reminiscing the time she killed her father’s two pet birds, especially the moment those tiny twitching bodies became motionless in her grasp, then sighs to herself how she simply doesn’t understand why Papa still hasn’t gotten over it even after a decade
Brushes it off as no big deal, as her motive for snapping the poor birds’ necks was to test Robin’s reaction because she genuinely didn’t understand why some unintelligent, unsophisticated feathered clumps of flesh could possibly mean so much to him; she thought they were just some “caged toys” he had prepared for her enjoyment and it wasn’t her fault they were pathetically fragile
Sneaks into the kitchen to torture the animals meant for food; invents a game she calls “the dance” where she clips the wings of ducks and chickens, cranks up the heat and forces them onto a hot surface from which they can’t escape, grinning as the poor birds frantically jump around in pain until only their feet are completely cooked and they’re still alive to experience every minute of that hell
Gets a new personal servant every month because they all end up resigning then fleeing
The other household staff all avoid her whenever possible
Has one servant who doesn’t flee because she has nowhere to go; instead tries to take her own life but fails because Invidia intervenes, now manipulated into believing she owes Invidia her life
Takes advantage of Robin’s soft spot for her knowing she can always get what she wants, and at most he’ll simply raise his voice at her without causing any real harm and she's free to continue with her work
If Robin is beyond furious, will utilize her natural acting skills and shed crocodile tears, clutch onto his robes and repeat “I’m so sorry, Papa. I’ll never do it again. I’ll be a good girl, I promise. I love you, Papa”, even getting on her knees if she has to… and she is right, it works every time
“Loves” her father but only as long as he’s useful to her
Successfully trains her father to not lock up anything in his estate because the more he tries to secure something, the more she will break into it and make everyone miserable so the mentally defeated Robin steps back and leaves valuables unlocked just so his daughter wouldn’t make a mess
Never reads any of the books Robin brings her and thinks it’s cute how he genuinely believes she’s merely studying in her “study area”
Infatuated with bloodstones and sees everyone as wasted potential for their lack of curiosity in dissecting and possibly artificially replicating this extremely versatile material; unaware of Alba’s research team doing precisely that otherwise she might very well be an interesting addition to the group of researchers, if it weren’t for her insanity
Determined that there must be more than just mundane uses for bloodstones, and with her ambition she might become the first one to prove it
Steals Robin’s bloodstones and goes unnoticed for long enough for her to have conducted at least a few dozen bloodstone implant experiments by the time he finally investigates her whereabouts
Obtains her human specimens by very illegal means, also funded by stolen money
Some of her test subjects are servants that had previously been let go, who were then unlucky enough to be tracked down and forcefully brought back, sent directly to her laboratory and their doom
Didn’t experiment with living people from the get go; snuck out during the night to practice her skills on any corpses she could find until she had enough confidence to work with fresher specimens
Goes about her activities normally during the day while she conducts her experiments at night; most other elite children feel somewhat relieved that she seems to have finally calmed down a bit when in reality her attention has been diverted elsewhere so on the surface she appears to be less… unusual
Fools all but Kalev, who takes an interest in her ominous aura and extends his invitation to her; from one freak to another, the rest is self-explanatory
Surprisingly, doesn’t reject Kalev as not once in her life had she ever thought of romance or dating, and accepts his invitation out of a genuine curiosity and perceived perfect opportunity to study love in a, say, scientific approach
Has a faulty sense of love where she has to logically convince herself that she loves something even though she clearly does not feel any positive emotion or physical sensation indicating the presence of said love, akin to a deaf person describing why music makes them happy
Her inability to love is a direct result of a decision she made during moments of despair in one of her past incarnations; she lost something so precious and dear to her that she swore to never love again in order to free herself from that heart-wrenching grief in the future, thus reincarnated as “Invidia” with a few missing pieces
Has a brief fling with Kalev, both acknowledging their relationship to be nothing more than fun distraction; enjoys her superficial love game with him
Experiences a sudden spark of yet another morbid curiosity, and that is whether she’d feel that “real” love if she had a child of her own; the deep, unconditional love of a mother willing to sacrifice her own life for her offspring she keeps hearing about all the time… if there is a hypothesis, she wants to test it
Plays certain tricks and successfully gets Kalev to impregnate her without his knowledge, around the time when her father finally discovers her heinous crimes, thus explaining the overlapping timing of her “disappearance” and her baby’s conception
As the pregnancy progresses, develops none of that sacred maternal bond with her fetus and for the first time in her life, felt her blood run cold because that parasite of a fetus wouldn’t budge despite her best efforts to remove it from her womb, as if it is punishing and mocking its mother for her desperation
Takes extreme measures and poisons herself with the strongest of non-lethal poisons yet still fails to abort the fetus, making Robin cry because he has not yet realized that the self-harm was an attempted abortion, and interprets the situation as his daughter trying to take her own life because she’s tired of him forcing her to live like a commoner
Would never take her own life, but gains one valuable piece of information from this exchange as she has learned an even more effective way to manipulate her father: threatening to kill herself
Gives up on abortion and decides to abandon the baby once it’s born; doesn’t answer Robin when he demands to know the identity of the father once her belly starts to show more
Coldly informs Robin that she has disposed of the newborn because it was already dead by the time of birth, rolling her eyes at him when he frantically runs outside to look for his grandchild because he knows his daughter is lying
Before abandoning her son, uses her sharp fingernails to mark an X-shaped wound on the backside of his left earlobe to leave a scar, as an identifier just in case he comes back to her… if he can ever survive, that is
Doesn’t let Robin get too close to her now that they live together in a small home, to prevent him from possibly catching a glimpse of the scar on her chest where she had surgically implanted a bloodstone… in her own chest
Performed the self-experiment sometime before the self-exile, long enough for the wound to have been fully healed by the time of the grand escape
Still manages to commit unspeakable crimes even in exile; she knows Robin knows, he knows she knows he knows, and there’s nothing he can do to stop his impenitent daughter because she had successfully broken his spirit long ago
Pleasantly surprised when he father offers himself as a test subject, thinks it’s sweet how he thought that’d be enough to satisfy her; takes a few moments to weigh her pros and cons but decides to turn down his offer in the end
Doesn’t mind Robin’s new love Eliza and even congratulates them when she announces her pregnancy, as she’s happy that Papa will be busy and won’t be available to monitor her as much anymore
Gets along with her baby brother and thinks of him as a stupid, cute puppy when he follows her around
Goes by a different name as a fugitive
Currently dating an older man named Madoc
Meets Madoc while committing crime, they hit it off, and he offers to give her a tattoo
Has a snake tattoo on her back along her spine
Yuu
Younger brother of Ze
Multilingual thanks to his upbringing plus his hobby of learning new languages; speaks at least fifteen and currently learning three more
Insists he’s learning new languages to be fully prepared for retaliation in case someone is to slander him in another tongue, but he just wouldn’t admit he’s simply doing it for enjoyment
A man who loves too intensely and deeply, with that distorted love manifesting as extreme jealousy when he condemns the recipient of his love as unwilling to reciprocate that love
The more he says he wants to kill someone, the more intense his love is but he’s in denial and rejects any help offered to him
Partially like this due to a rather unfortunate near-death experience where he enters a state of complete serenity and warmth, forgetting his own identity and the people he loved, his spirit fully embracing and walking towards the brightest and most beautiful of lights… until he is resuscitated by his older brother, and, in his own words, “painfully brought back to this living hell”
Blames the world for teasing him a taste of euphoria before heartlessly shunning him and sending him back to the realm of suffering, and most of all blames Ze for not letting him die, calling him selfish among other worse things, though he’d be furious anyway if his brother didn’t try to save him
Proclaims that Ze is now fully responsible for all of his needs and wants because he was dead long ago yet forcefully brought back therefore the one guilty of condemning him to his prolonged suffering has to take of care him
Makes Ze swear on his life to honor the deal, which he does, but still agitated by the emptiness and lingering dissatisfaction even though he doesn’t doubt his brother’s commitment
Feels guilty for abusing Ze’s unconditional love but has his own pride to uphold, so won’t backtrack on his unreasonable demands nor will he change his behavior even when his greater inner conscience supposedly knows better
Genuinely apologetic towards Ze for his behavior and cruel words but can’t bring himself to deliver an actual heartfelt apology
Loves Ze more than anything in the world yet chokes on those three words
While he does mourn the heavenly tranquility that was taken away from him, he is more terrified of Ze not walking towards the same light with him after death, and it is precisely that helpless sense of inevitable separation that drives him insane
Paralyzed by fear when he recalls how he completely forgot about Ze in that near-death state, and replays the same imaginary scene in his head of what if Ze’s soul is searching for him after death but he’s not answering because he can’t remember his brother’s voice etc. and they’ll never reunite etc etc.
Has a total of thirteen past incarnations where he and Ze were a pair of some sort; they were inseparable in all of their shared lifetimes
Forever clueless to the fact that Ze can move at a faster pace towards enlightenment and an eventual graduation from this earthly dimension but chooses to slow down to keep him company; ungrateful yet unwilling to change because of his confidence in Ze’s loyalty
Actually much more sociable and reasonable at his core, at least before the incident that almost claimed his life
Quite smart and had a decent job he enjoyed before none of that mattered to him anymore, currently doesn’t work and spends his time sulking, stalking, and bothering people while his brother’s income supports them both
Used to work as a translator for foreign merchants trading with Rukedonya as one of the most reliable translators available
Loved meeting new people at his job even if their exchanges were often brief, feeling a sense of satisfaction when old faces recognize him from previous exchanges
Currently, almost every interaction he has must go through Ze first so he doesn’t have to take the full blow of hurt feelings; makes Ze initiate and respond to conversations on his behalf
A human whose soul’s origin is from another planet; he grew tired of both cannibalizing his people and evading cannibalization, and requested a soul transfer to a place with more food
Thus the biggest lover of food which Ze utilizes to successfully pacify him each time he has a tantrum
If he's chewing on something, he’s quiet
Always wants the most desirable morsels, but waits for Ze to pick them out and fill his plate for him so there is an illusion that he is being less greedy because it’s Ze himself willingly giving up the tastiest bits
Can also be very generous when he does decide to share, as seen in his enthusiasm when he invites Gus’ daughter Clara over for dagger lessons and some snacks
Physically can’t bring himself to eat meat from quadrupedal animals (pork, lamb, venison etc) but can eat poultry
Favorite dish is duck, especially the head and uses a tiny spoon to scoop out the eyes and brain after it’s roasted to perfection
Oblivious to his many failed life lessons of gratitude, which he has arguably been given more than enough chances but still ruining it somehow
Not always this extreme in every incarnation, just that he’s particularly explosive here due to the incident, but there’s always some sort of guilt tripping involved when it comes to keeping Ze close by, no matter how minuscule
Loves playing with daggers because his irresponsible parents sometimes left their weapons out in the open for small children like him to access, along with some other very questionable hazardous items
To this day still has no idea of what his parents did for a living, just that they weren’t home much and often hid in a room discussing matters the kids weren’t allowed to hear
Eventually moves out with Ze and doesn’t take much luggage with him, with his most notable “souvenir” being his mother’s glaive, which she most likely won’t even notice is missing because there’s simply an over abundance of weapons at home
Moves again because their first new home was set ablaze by a juvenile arsonist
This time moves next to Gus’ family, and befriends them with relative ease
Surprises Ze with his willingness to open up to their new neighbors, but more like Gus knows how to deal with anyone and get them to show him their good side
Completely infatuated with the adopted son of shopkeeper Matthias
Never buys anything but will spend the entire afternoon standing at their front door just talking to Cadis, to Matthias’ slight annoyance
Craves Cadis’ company and savors every minute of it since he’s one of the few individuals willing to offer undivided attention, albeit doing it out of politeness as Matthias had instructed him to engage potential customers
Mistakes Cadis’ politeness for love… and here it goes again
At Ze’s insistence, buys the smallest item available which alleviates Matthias’ annoyance just ever so slightly
Doesn’t regularly self-harm but occasionally displays alarming, abnormal behavior that could possibly be him attempting to see if he could meet the “requirements” to once again summon the light of euphoria he had experienced back when he almost died; scared to truly die yet but desperate to envelop himself in that surreal peacefulness once more
Says he wants to die when he wants to get Ze’s attention
If itching for a physical outlet to release his anger, invites himself into other people’s fights, hitting anyone within arm’s reach which often results in previously quarreling parties joining hands to punish the intruder instead
Dragged back to his home by a woman named Luna who might have beaten him up a little too hard, but only slightly apologetic because he kinda did deserve it, and she was nice enough to “return” him instead of leaving him one the ground to get trampled on; luckily for him, this is the first and last group fight he ever has
Develops an unexpected friendship with Luna where they meet up to fight twice every week as a nice way to exercise, with Luna’s casual flirting misleading him into believing now he has to choose between her and Cadis when none of them are genuinely interested in him whatsoever
Often falls ill to high fevers which are mostly psychological from his cognitive dissonance, but lacks the courage to address the conflicting thoughts and emotions
Given herbs to treat his fevers by his lovely neighbor Gus all free of charge since he is nice to Clara
Gouges his left eye out in a desperate attempt to relieve his discomfort during a particularly high fever… no screaming, no shouting, just one trembling hand barely cupping his bleeding eye socket and the other cradling his crushed eyeball, head hanging low and whimpering for his brother to come help him clean the up the wound
After his wound is completely healed, receives a handmade eyepatch from Clara which he wears daily
Wanting to look cool, brags to Clara about how he lost his eye from a fight with a bear which he won and she actually believes him
Mellows out a bit after losing an eye, and his usually aggressive “I want to die”s now sound weary
Sometimes sticks his head in the snow to cool down
Buries his entire body in the snow when just his head isn’t enough
Ze
Elder brother of Yuu
Also multilingual but doesn’t speak as many languages as his younger brother; can speak about five but understands all fifteen (mostly)
Loves Yuu, fully aware of the fact that he backs down too much when he should stand firm, admitting how Yuu being too dependent on him is detrimental to his own wellbeing and growth, but won’t ever be able to leave his brother alone to fend for himself
Accepts that he needs Yuu to need him
Has only cried two times in his entire life: when Yuu was born, and when Yuu almost died and had to be brought back
Heartbroken when Yuu points a finger to his face then crucifies him for the unsolicited resuscitation, his body completely frozen and mouth gaping in disbelief and anguish, surrendering to the hateful words bashing him before averting his gaze and gently pulling Yuu into his embrace; his hands shook uncontrollably yet softly caressed his brother’s red hair, and after he felt his momentary fury diminish and his breathing stabilize, he tearfully admits that it is indeed his fault for selfishly keeping him alive
Reassures Yuu he won’t be even more selfish by asking for forgiveness, but wants him to just understand that he can’t bear to lose him, even if that makes him an unforgivable sinner in his eyes
Promises Yuu he’s willing to share his pain with him and suffer for him, making Yuu bawl, with the strong response from the supposed victim either indicating his satisfaction with guilt tripping his brother into the heavy promise, or that he regrets being so harsh on the one who loves him most and feels ashamed of himself
Understands the price for loving Yuu is the progress of his own soul’s growth, willing to commit to it nonetheless
Pauses everything he’s doing to pat Yuu on the back whenever the “I want to die” attention seeking phrases ensue
Knows Yuu is genuinely sorry for being so cruel after the resuscitation, and asks for no apology as he understands how hard it is for his brother to put it into words
Lets himself be guilt tripped and willing to make himself the target of Yuu’s rage as long as he can keep him alive
Concludes that Yuu must be extremely shaken; for such a smart man like him to not be able to bounce back, it must’ve been something truly traumatic for him to give up everything that he had loved and worked so hard for
Will patiently help Yuu take baby steps as he, more than anyone else, wishes for Yuu to find enjoyment in life again
Able to discern when Yuu isn’t being completely truthful about how he feels based on the language he’s speaking in, observing how Yuu’s seemingly random language selection for even more random sentences actually correlate with his mood
When acquaintances ask him his brother’s whereabouts, he simply informs them that he is ill and resting at home, which is true to some extent
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was an osmanthus tree
In all of his past thirteen incarnations with Yuu, he gave his life to save Yuu meaning he was always the one to die earlier
Responsible for all the cooking, cleaning, and other household chores in his shared home with Yuu
Believes it was the right choice to take Yuu with him and move out of their old family home because it was often uncomfortably damp and dark, and he had a hunch that their parents weren’t good people
Unlike Yuu, is able to eat the meat of quadrupedal animals but doesn’t at home to cater to his brother’s palate
Cooks food before he leaves home to go to work praying Yuu won’t stir up unnecessary trouble while he’s gone
A dyer who dyes fabric into rich colors for the wealthy to enjoy; since there is quite the demand, he will never be out of a job
An artistic person who never pursued a hobby because Yuu is more than a handful, plus his promise to Yuu to take care of both his needs and wants for the rest of his life means that virtually all disposable income he has goes to his brother
Not a daydreamer but visualizes waking up, doing art, then going to bed etc. the what ifs of being born into a rich family that could afford this lifestyle for him; if he had the opportunity, he would’ve become a hobbyist sculptor
Almost tears up when Yuu buys him a pricy foreign picture book for his birthday (albeit with his money), especially intrigued by the drawings depicting majestic serpentine dragons and delicate lotus blossoms
Wonders why Yuu’s suddenly talking nonstop about some shopkeeper’s adopted son, and sighs when his brother drags him along to meet the real deal
Acknowledges that Cadis indeed has an incredibly attractive aura to him, which explains Yuu’s infatuation, but worries about where this is heading as he fears the development of an unhealthy obsessive attachment
Resolves the awkwardness of loitering in the shop all afternoon by making Yuu purchase something, then gestures a silent apology to shopkeeper Matthias who simply raises his brows indicating “apology accepted”
Reassures Luna that she doesn’t have to treat them to a meal to make up for beating up Yuu, and accepts the offer when she says she’ll buy them drinks then
Follows Luna to a tavern owned by her half-brother Kenneth; starts visiting the tavern on his own after befriending Kenneth who often offers him nice discount deals on new items, with the most popular item being “the burger”, wherever Kenneth got that name from
Starts developing positive feelings for Kenneth, and the feelings are most likely mutual
Discovers a small, hard immovable mass in his abdomen which makes Yuu burst into tears crying nonstop for days because he thinks his brother is dying; tries his best to comfort Yuu but knows there’s not much to do
Asks for Gus’ opinion but unfortunately learns it’s not within the old man’s expertise
Surprised when Luna shows up at his door to inform him that she might know someone who can take a look at his lump; when asked how she came to know of his condition, she scoffs and pretends to be annoyed at not being able to fight Yuu properly at their scheduled fights because he kept sobbing and wants him to stop that
With Luna’s referral, visits a potter whose real job is a surgeon who only takes cases by referral; the man introduces himself as Franklin, and after examining Ze’s condition, he presents the option of removing the mass for good, under the condition that Ze is not to question his method of surgery nor pry into his identity by any means
Allowed to make small, manageable payments on a monthly basis to Franklin so the financial burden on him is lessened, but ends up paying it off in one go
Surprised to find out Yuu never spent any of the money he gave him as part of their agreement for him to take care of Yuu forever and that he had been saving it up instead; thanks Yuu and strokes his hair once more as the younger man sobbed and demanded his brother to go get treated this instant
Swiftly recovers after tumor surgery and lives life disease-free, lets Yuu be smug for once... it is true that if he didn’t pick a fight with the group with Luna in it, they wouldn’t have met thus he wouldn’t have received a referral to surgeon Franklin; tells Yuu he should still try to behave himself though
Asks Luna how he should repay her for the referral and she says to forget it, but, if he insists, just visit Kenneth’s tavern more often and take care of the business etc. which he is more than willing to do
Used to have longer hair but cut it short because Yuu more or less has the habit of grabbing and pulling on it during tantrums
Naturally sleeps and wakes up late but can’t because of work
Has to comfort Yuu every time he cries at the sight of the surgical scar, tells him it does resemble the dragons from the picture book so maybe it isn’t so terrible
Cleans when stressed and obsessively scrubs pots and pans even when there’s no more grease
Has to comfort Yuu again when he apparently gives too much attention to said pots and pans and Yuu is now jealous of inanimate objects
Keeps an iron chain and leather strap on him at all times to restrict Yuu when he’s self-harming
Will be sisters with Yuu in their next incarnations together
Eden
Wife of Deus
Co-owner of Deus’ family bakery
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before her first incarnation as a human, she was an apple tree
Daughter of a family of carpenters, but didn’t want to pursue that path so her parents made arrangements for her and ends up marrying Deus whom she lives a peaceful life with
Has three biological children with Deus, adopts the brothers Justus and Domas so a total five children, then rescues and brings home Laurie which makes that six (kind of)
Her biological children are two daughters and a son
Always warns her children to be extra careful around hot ovens
Rather puzzled about why her husband’s so stubbornly insistent on using a traditional oven versus a bloodstone-powered one as the latter is safer and more efficient; can get him to compromise on anything but that
Daydreams of living in a faraway land where snow never falls, grass forever green and crops forever golden, orchards of trees brimming with ripe fruit stretching far beyond the horizon and fading into the vast blue sky of soft clouds and twinkling stars; she leisurely reaches her delicate fingertips towards the reddest and juiciest fruit of them all, bringing it to her lips eager to savor its soft flesh and sweet nectar while the warm sunlight envelops her and kisses the pain away… until the smell of burnt bread and faint shouting in the background pulls her back into reality, blinking several times before wiping her forehead with her sleeve and finally tending to the oven she had been neglecting, hurrying to rescue the slightly charred loaves before they become truly inedible
Shares her daydreams with Deus to which he huffs he doubts such a place exists, and if it does, then unfortunately he cannot provide it for her so they’re better off working hard where they are for themselves and their kids
Knows Deus isn’t truly annoyed with her, and more than anyone else he wishes to give their family a better future, and he simply laments the fact that there’s not much he can do
Chuckles softly when Deus takes her hand, opens her palm and shoves in it the freshest piece of produce he could possibly find at the market; appreciates the sincerity and tenderness her husband usually hides under his tough exterior while admiring his dampened bangs and tangled ponytail, both indicating he had immediately sprinted outside to purchase the fruit his wife had so longingly craved
Loved by her children as well, including Justus who massages her shoulders after a long day of work and Domas who diligently applies ointment over her chapped cuticles
Usually soft-spoken and reserved, but will shout at and even threaten people if they dare to mess around in her bakery, customer or not
Trains her children with Deus, and insists that he waits a little longer before making the little ones help around the bakery, ensuring their safety comes first
Sometimes also daydreams about fighting with a sword or two despite never having been near a sword in her entire life; as usual, Deus shrugs with attitude and supposes if anyone should be fighting for their family it should be her because she has longer arms than him thus can reach farther
Rescues the cold and almost lifeless Laurie who had collapsed in the snow, bringing him home with her and after a lot of convincing, gets Deus to agree to house and feed him under the condition that he contributes his share of labor in their bakery
Treats Laurie like her own child while Deus sees him more like an employee, though he changes gradually and warms up to the boy too
Buys finger prosthetics for Laurie
Friends with the weird old herbalist Gus and his lovely daughter Clara; gives Clara a free slice of hot bread to enjoy whenever she finds the girl standing outside the bakery, probably drawn in by the sweet aroma of the freshly baked loaves she could smell all the way from her home
Becomes part of Gus’ inner circle, along with Deus
Eventually buys Gus’ bloodstone-infused green “candies” for herself and Deus to take due to various health issues
Relieved of her symptoms with Deus who also sees the effects of said candies, and everything goes smoothly… until either Justus or Domas accidentally knocks over their parents’ medicine jars, and for whatever reason causing the reluctance to admit their clumsiness, picks up the individual candies and puts them back in the jars… which was a huge mistake, because even though the individual candies look the same, they do in fact have different ingredients and since they’re specifically designed to target Eden and Deus’ respective symptoms, severe side effects may take place if they get mixed up
Becomes unresponsive after taking Deus’ medicine, sometimes failing to recognize her family members’ faces and even her own reflection; doesn’t answer when her name is called, with her body moving on its own as if in a state of a dream, etc.
Stares into the void as her children weep at her feet, desperately calling for their mother who ignores them
Somehow still bakes bread and operates the bakery as usual even under the strange side effects, though she’s essentially numb to pain thus constantly sustaining burn wounds all over her hands, with her tearful children begging for their mother to sit down and rest while trying to pull her hands out of the scalding oven
Quietly watches as Deus drags Laurie out, beats him, then sells him as if her eyes are blind to all that is happening in front of her
Returns to a normal mental state after finishing the jar of (mixed) medicine, demands Laurie’s whereabouts to which her children mournfully describe what their father had done to the poor boy
Screams and shouts at Deus, ordering him to bring back Laurie who is unfortunately already sold with no traces of his buyer whatsoever
Treats the painful burn wounds on her hands and gets back to work because there is no time to cry as she has her other children to feed, while one of her adopted sons seems like he has something to say yet can’t bring himself to come forward…
Prays for Laurie’s safety daily, and despite well-intentioned, her prayers are unnecessary as Laurie currently lives a life of luxury with his new “family”
Suffers from slightly reduced hand mobility especially around the fingers even after fully healing from her burns; works hard just like she’d always done so as one of the pillars of their family and bakery, though her children are also experienced enough to share the load by now
Still taking Gus’ candies, at least this time no one’s knocking it over and mixing it up without telling her
Forgives Deus for selling Laurie because he also had no control over his actions, but even if they’re back to being a loving couple, something feels different
Still daydreams about gardens and swords, which does give her a little extra motivation to push through chores
Wonders what she’d look like with longer hair, but keeps it relatively short to not interfere with work
Ironically, as the co-owner of a bakery, has a hard time swallowing bread as it feels stuck in her throat, needs to drink water to send it down
She and Deus will go their separates ways in their next incarnations, not meeting again for a very, very long time
Will be Cadis’ partner in one of their future incarnations
Will be able to eat all the fruits and vegetables she wants in her next incarnation
Deus
Husband of Eden
Owner of a bakery which he inherits from his mother
Down-to-earth and honest, a big momma’s boy; raised by both his mother and stepfather Zoran whom he discovers is not his biological father when he is a preteen
Once tried to confirm with his mother the identity of his biological father but stopped because she only repeatedly apologized while tears streamed down her face, not sharing much but enough for Deus to guess the man is of status and power
An only child… or?
Vehemently hates people who abandon their own kids and will go out of his way to track them down and beat them into a pulp, other than that he is generally fairly tame and reasonable
A human whose soul’s origin is from another planet; he was an elite warrior of a planet that actively invaded and terrorized other planets of the same density, forever victorious thanks to their sheer bloodlust and unparalleled military might; his soul requested to be transferred to a planet where it could fill its inner void with love due to the lack thereof
Quite content with his current incarnation as “Deus” with a mother who loves him, a stepfather who treats him as his own and a wife who shares his vision
Prefers to show his love through acts of service, rather than words of affirmation
Extremely stubborn and scrupulous when it comes to how his bakery operates; almost a perfectionist when it comes to his bread, inspecting each and every sack of grain that comes in as well as each and every loaf before it goes out
Expects all of his children to master his and his wife’s techniques, regularly testing them one by one to ensure no one is falling behind or slacking off; condemns laziness more than anything else
Firmly believes stupidity is synonymous with laziness; you are only stupid because you choose to be
Loves his children and has their sweet little moments together here and there even though at times he does sound more like a commander than their father, especially when he’s rigorously training them to uphold the reputation of his bakery when they eventually become the new owners after he retires; smiles at them when they show solid enthusiasm towards attaining their father’s level of mastery, never once complaining about the arduous journey to get there
Loves his biological and adopted children equally, treating them the same and expects them to accomplish the same quality and quantity of work; never unfair and even encourages them to tell him if they think he’s giving preferential treatment to any of them
Looks like he’s the type to give bread riddled with maggots and sharp rocks to whoever pisses him off thanks to his very dynamic and often frightening facial expresses, but he’s quite nice as the lowest priced item in their bakery can be afforded by even the poorest of customers
Cautious of charity and avoids giving free handouts as he detests the idea of people becoming dependent on leftovers thus ruining his business, however won’t truly deny someone a loaf if they’re at his doorstep and about to die of starvation
Never gives discounts and kicks people out if they try to haggle, stating every ounce of their skilled labor plus price and quality of grain etc. have been perfectly calculated into the labeled price, and if people are here to disrespect him then they are free to screw off
Teaches his children to be practical and that the absolute number one rule is to never betray their principles, which is getting paid what they deserve
Curiously, doesn’t complain when Eden gives Gus’ daughter Clara freebies, as long as it’s for “new recipe taste testing” purposes
Initially hesitant to accept the random boy Eden brings home, but ultimately doesn’t turn him away because he is willing to save a life when he has the power
Amputates Laurie’s frostbitten fingers
Becomes very erratic and violent after taking Eden’s medicine, smashing and breaking things because he simply didn’t like the way they looked, screaming into his children’s ears and even beating them because their walking or breathing annoyed him, only to strike them even harder if they cry; in extreme moments, even cuts himself with sharp objects until his blood dyes his clothes red, his children frozen in fear as they watch their father self-harm, powerless to help him as they rightfully assume he might target them next and only able clean his wounds and bandage him once he has passed out from blood loss
Not once did he ever lay his hands on his children prior to this tragedy
Sells Laurie under the side effects of the drug with no memory of the event whatsoever, including where and how he spent the money afterwards
Returns to a normal mental state after he finishes the jar of (mixed) medicine, groaning in pain as his wounds ache and tear apart, silently assessing his body’s badly injured state then finally panicking about pursuing the “intruder” that attacked him
Horrified after he learns of his own actions from his children who were still under the impression that their father wants to hurt them; cries when they won’t come near him until he can prove he’s back to his normal self, and cries even harder when he knows now he’s an abuser in their eyes, scarring them just as much as he had literally scarred himself
Doesn’t remember the faces of Laurie’s buyers, painfully and shamefully admits that the possibility of getting him back is near zero
Sighs heavily whenever he looks at Eden’s hands
Reconciles with Eden and their children, all of them reassuring him they’ve already forgiven him, yet one of his adopted sons seems to keep his distance…
Still taking Gus’ candies, at least this time no one’s knocking it over and mixing it up without telling him
Now speaks to his children in a softer tone which honestly feels weird to them, but he’s trying to be extra careful until they’re truly comfortable with him again, as they sometimes still reflexively flinch when he raises his hand to pick his ears or stretch
Finds himself thinking about his semi-regular customer Lazarus from time to time
Suffers from occasional existential crises when he becomes very distressed with the idea of his own inevitable, impeding death; struggling to come to terms with mortality
Finds it hard to believe that he’ll be dead in a few decades, if he’s lucky to even live that long, and all of his hard work will simply vanish
Lets his mother cut his hair even though she’s not a skilled barber by any means, likes the sensation of her fingers running through his hair
An expert chicken slaughterer since he was a small child; can slaughter more than thirty chickens in less than a minute, and still able to even without continuous practice since he doesn’t actually keep chickens
Cooks the best chicken blood & giblet soup, though he usually doesn’t have any and makes it whenever a girl or woman in his family is menstruating
Swears by bread and devours loaves at lightning speed, sucking them in with his vortex of a mouth
Refuses to use a bloodstone-powered oven because apparently bread made that way have less flavor
Picks his ears with his pinkie a bit too often, irritating his ear canals with his fingernail until fluids ooze from the wounds; a bad habit Eden is trying to get him to quit
Sometimes blushes but blames it on the oven’s heat
Will have hemophobia in his next incarnation
Mukul
Husband of Gina and father of Aslaug
Friend of Cadis, often visiting and disappearing without notice
Not from Rukedonya but seems to have ongoing business within the country, entering and leaving freely with special permissions granted to him by none other than Lord Alba himself
Alba’s personal friend who comes and goes with his casual attitude bringing about gossips of displeasure among some of Alba’s subordinates despite the lord reassuring them multiple times
A free-spirited man who doesn’t particularly enjoy being trapped in the same place for more than two weeks at a time, so he’s always on the move to explore the world
Doesn’t carry much luggage on him, only a bindle full of miscellaneous items as he obtains whatever he needs at his next destinations once he arrives there; of course this changes especially after his daughter is born
Saved by Gina from a bad wolf pack attack which leaves many scars all over his body and marks their first interaction in this incarnation
Acquainted with Gina in a past incarnation where they couldn’t be together, but he promised her he’d be with her and show her the world in a future lifetime, so here they are
Grateful to Gina for saving him and almost takes off immediately after he’s been healed, but lets her follow him after she expresses her desire to accompany him on his endless journey
After a few months of traveling together, proposes to Gina with a wolf tooth he himself fashioned into a necklace with a bit of DIY, from a wolf whose tooth he was able to break off with weapon back then
Has an abnormally high self-healing ability with cuts and gashes patching themselves up in a suspiciously efficient manner
Easily gets away with wounds that clearly need further treatment; simply grabs some ash or sand, sprinkles them on his wounds and calls it a day
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a wolf
Ironically, almost dies by wolves in this lifetime because he wasn’t careful enough to check the forest for signs of predators before entering
Curiously, never ends up developing a fear of wolves or any canine creature and recalls his close contact with the wolf pack as a unique, exhilarating experience… and he meets the love of his life!
Continues to train people’s dogs, wolfdogs and other potentially exotic animals for a living as a traveler, managing to tame animals with guaranteed success within the two weeks he’s staying somewhere, sometimes getting paid very handsomely
People assume he’s a great fighter or a dangerous killer from his scars which they believe he’s purposely parading around as trophies, but the assumption is misplaced as his wife is the real fighter
Only has decent fighting skills, really, but a little bit of training goes a long way, should he choose to have his wife teach him
Seems like he decides their next destinations but it’s actually Aslaug who’s in charge with her parents following her lead
Sets foot in Rukedonya for the first time because Aslaug was adamant that someone she must see resides there, and while he doesn’t understand why she’s so determined about random things, he listens to her because there’s more to her intuition than she is willing to reveal
Almost feels a bit embarrassed because his daughter acts more maturely than he does at times, but she always reassures him that she appreciates him and her mother the way they are; flattered when she tells them to not worry about giving her the best life possible, because she picked them herself “before coming here”
Never gets seasick, loves the smell of salty air
Never gets sick from eating raw food, though Aslaug always forces him to cook them
Travels to Rukedonya at Aslaug’s insistence, where their entire family is temporarily detained until Aslaug manages to convince the guards to deliver her message directly to Lord Alba who instantly recognizes the arrival of an extremely unusual but welcome guest
Befriends Lord Alba himself thanks to his daughter and engrosses his new friend with fascinating stories of his travels, describing his personal experiences in such vivid detail it almost inspires his listener to leave Rukedonya and see the world for himself
Shocked when Alba admits he has never left Rukedonya due to health issues but mostly the lord’s heavy duties that inevitably hold him hostage to this land
Promises Alba he’ll bring him one-of-a-kind souvenirs from the world as gifts whenever he visits Rukedonya again, well, more like whenever his daughter says the word because he’s just following his girl
Completely zones out despite his best efforts to follow Aslaug and Alba’s conversations… divine duty or universal truth, blah blah blah, what’s for dinner?
Suspects his daughter is secretly a wise old lady in a girl’s body due to her unparalleled insight and maturity, but she also displays the typical playfulness and curiosity of children her age so he’s happy as long as she’s well-adjusted
Visits Cadis after Alba gives him directions and informs him of someone he “might find interesting”
Indeed intrigued by the mysterious shut-in who introduces himself as the shopkeeper’s son; only comes by when Matthias and the employees are absent, or when they’re too busy or distracted to notice
Nags Cadis to go outside more, talking nonstop about his adventurous, outgoing daughter and lovely wife, and how he’s visiting alone because his family is busy shopping elsewhere (they’re actually in the castle since Aslaug has more business to discuss with Alba with her mother staying with her while he excused himself to tackle his boredom)
Omits the fact that he’s here thanks to Alba’s little suggestion since he could sense a tone in the blond man’s voice indicating he didn’t want burden Cadis any further
Helps himself to nice naps in Cadis’ bed as if it’s his bed; would get up if Cadis objects but he’s fine with it
Casually kicks around the strangely misplaced coffin in Cadis’ room and rendered speechless when the owner of said coffin confirms he sleeps in there at night
Doesn’t ask follow up questions, mistakingly and hilariously assumes all Rukedonyans keep extra coffins around as beds
Takes off his clothes to show Cadis his scars, relishing the bloody, adrenaline-filled memories of the wolf attack as he graphically describes how each one came to be
Promises Cadis he’ll be back to visit again, and before he climbs outside through the window, gifts the shut-in with a book he had purchased earlier at the market on his way here (the same one Cadis learns those cheesy lines from)
Returns to Rukedonya whenever Aslaug says it’s time, and consistently visits Alba and Cadis who both appreciate the energy he brings along
Always at his happiest when he’s traveling, but credits Rukedonya as the “land of heavenly baths”
Eats a mostly carnivore diet if available
Pretends to yelp in pain when Aslaug amuses herself by playing with his hairy arms, tugging at and twirling around the individual hairs
Might have more kids depending on how Gina feels
Will cross paths with both Alba and Raizel in future incarnations
Snores loudly
Enjoys sweet, fizzy drinks
Gina
Wife of Mukul and mother of Aslaug
A former mercenary who now lives quietly after retiring from a life of constant bloodshed, currently traveling the world following her husband and daughter’s lead
Doesn’t mind running around without a permanent place to stay because she’s already accustomed to it
Deeply in love with her husband, and although he loves her as well, his love is not as deep as hers because his love is a direct result of his soul honoring its promise of being together; nevertheless, they genuinely care for each other and have a happy married life
Instantly knows Mukul is the man after she chases away the wolves mauling him and flips over his bloodied body, eyes widening as she takes a closer look at that face… voila!
Insists on following Mukul even when he warns her his lifestyle could be dangerous… more like she’s the one who ends up getting rid of said dangers for him without his knowledge
Smiles whenever Mukul laughs and credits her as his goddess of luck because everything has been much smoother for him ever since they’ve met each other
Cries when Mukul proposes to her with the wolf tooth necklace
Gives birth to Aslaug a year later
A human whose soul’s origin is from another planet; she was the queen of an ancient but very advanced matriarchal planet, and requested a soul transfer to Earth to help its women despite being close to graduation herself, as she wished to be of service to another planet before she finally ascends to a higher density
Might stay on Earth for a little longer because evidently there are more than plenty of issues at hand regarding the general treatment of women, but she will not stay forever and will leave when she is finished with her part
As a young girl, kills her biological father for abusing her mother; slits his throat with a kitchen knife, mother and daughter run away together then kindly taken in by a group of older widows
Lives with the widows until their home is invaded one night by drunken soldiers who cruelly slaughter the older women; furious yet cautious, she follows them after they leave and kills them in their sleep
Loses her sense of direction and grows up to become a mercenary; her mother remarries into another family, more or less forgetting the daughter who saved her and leaves her to fend for herself
Realizes a mercenary life isn’t what she wants, quits, takes up part-time physical labor jobs whenever the opportunities present themselves
Deeply regrets some of her life choices, painfully reminded of her deeds by the bloodstains she cannot wash off her hands, but grateful that she managed to wake up before it was too late
Accumulated negative karma from the lives she had taken, and will need to absolve it before graduating; perhaps the figure crucial to absolving said karma appears before her in the most unexpected way
Remembers her reason for taking a “detour” to Earth thanks to none other than her own daughter Aslaug
Won’t ever forget the time Aslaug lovingly gazed into her eyes and told her to stay strong and true to her heart; thinks her daughter is an angel sent to reawaken her
Cries when Aslaug indeed does tell her that she chose her to be her mother in this lifetime
Acts as the protector of her family as they travel to different places, some more dangerous than others but never dangerous enough for her to be defenseless against threats
Prefers to fight with her bare hands but can use weapons too
Wants to have one or two more kids with Mukul but doesn’t know when’s the right time; as always, Aslaug keeps saying “when they’re ready”
Wonders why Mukul always likes to climb into places through windows instead of using the doors like a normal person
Listens to her husband’s snoring like its ASMR, unlike her daughter who sometimes slaps her father's cheeks when he’s bothering her too much
Doesn’t drink often, but drinks a lot when she does; doesn’t get drunk easily, but is either not drunk or very drunk
Drank more the the past and tries not to drink in front of Aslaug; surprised when her daughter tells her she doesn’t mind seeing Mama drink and that she herself has had much stronger ones in the past, which leaves Gina bemused because she doesn’t recall giving her daughter alcoholic drinks ever
Gently confronts Mukul who reassures her he definitely has not given their daughter drinks either
Very good at gambling
Gets seasick
Has quite a few white hairs mixed in with her red hair, completely natural and something she’s had since she was a kid
Has unresolved karma with Madoc and Invidia from some past incarnations between her initial soul transfer to Earth and her current incarnation as “Gina”; could very possibly meet them in future incarnations
Aslaug
Daughter of Mukul and Gina
A wanderer, and one of the only two to exchange greetings with Alba face to face, from one wanderer to another
Has handicaps of colorblindness in half of her incarnations, and congenital anosmia (no sense of smell) in the other half
Is colorblind as “Aslaug”, laments how she doesn’t get to see the red-orange shade of her mother’s pretty hair
The true leader of the little travel group consisting of her parents and herself; “knows” where and when she needs to meet someone as if she possesses a list of individuals and their information in her head
Comes to Rukedonya when Alba is ready to meet her as opposed to when she is ready to make the journey, waiting for certain events in his life to unfold before approaching him
Doesn’t see everything in people lives in a literal sense as she’s not omniscient nor a mind reader by any means, but her intuition alerts her of what actions to take, often appearing suddenly without any way to predict them
Honestly prefers to stay in one place, longing for somewhere she can call home and come back to every day but understands there’s so much to do and how she must get them done before her physical body expires, so gives up the comforts of a permanent home to travel the world and meet the key figures of her current incarnation “Aslaug”
Wakes up one day with a clear vision of Alba’s face and his general location, shaking her sleeping parents and informing them of their next destination as they wonder where she even gets such ideas but listen to her nonetheless
Remains silent when she finally meets Alba face-to-face, as their interacting auras speak louder than anything
Breaks the silence in an enthusiastic verbal greeting which Alba reciprocates; surprises everyone including her own parents as she and Alba display the genuine camaraderie only people with decades of friendship would have
Spends time in the castle with Alba as her parents struggle to follow their conversations, with her mother keeping her company and her father eventually leaving to combat boredom
Expresses her gratitude to Alba for his contributions towards humanity as one of the many wanderers on Earth and blesses him with wishes for good health; blessings, like promises, carry anywhere from little to tremendous karmic energy depending on the giver’s purity of intention and the recipient’s attitude, and individuals whose polarizations align greatly, or, in other words, share the same vibrational wavelength, can much more effectively materialize or manifest the contents of blessings
Since Aslaug and Alba are both wanderers with positive karma and have pure intentions, Aslaug’s blessings for Alba are even more effective; manifests as better sleep, increased appetite, more overall energy, etc.
Receives a blessing from Alba as well, as it is the unspoken rule to reciprocate a blessing once receiving one; blessed with safe travels, which manifests as calmer waves at sea and clearer, sunnier weather wherever she goes
Aware of Cadis’ existence but simply ignores him because he has yet to pass the first test of overcoming the veil of forgetting; if he somehow does awaken himself during her lifetime, she will come back to Rukedonya to visit both Alba and him
Successfully piques the interest of Rachel whom she also ignores because her principle is to not engage with any soul neither requiring nor requesting her aid specifically; recognizes Rachel as the soul Alba is assigned to assist before he reincarnated here
Senses Rachel’s animosity towards her and wonders just what this woman has been through in life for her to immediately and irresponsibly judge another person when she knows nothing about them
Mature and wise beyond her years, sometimes a bit creepy but her parents are used to it
Eerily calm when witnessing the world’s horrors as their family inevitably travels through war zones; expressionless and silent as if she’s seen it all
Sends light and love to both the living and the deceased awaiting reincarnation
As her current incarnation “Aslaug”, her mission on Earth is to say the right thing to the right person at the right moment to give them the first push towards enlightenment which requires her to travel constantly, contrasting Alba who never leaves Rukedonya because everyone he shall enlighten resides within its borders
Never repeats herself twice after saying something important… so listen up!
Forgets what she says to someone once the message has been delivered if it is considered a “divine revelation”, does not retain information once it has been passed on as it is not her burden to retain the countless messages she must deliver
Very attuned to Earth’s general vibrations and quite literally senses disturbances in her body when something’s not right even if it’s far away on the opposite side of the planet; feels it in her flesh, in her bones, in every cell etc.
Either an insomniac or the sleeping beauty due to said disturbances taking a toll on her physical body
Carried on her mother or father’s back when she’s sleeping
Loves playing with puppies and spearing fish in rivers
Constantly reminds her parents she loves them for who they are, and that she’s very satisfied with her life so they don’t need to worry about her wellbeing
Makes Mukul retell the enthralling tales of his great battle against the wolves and meeting his savior and one true love because it’s very entertaining to her
Lets her parents pick her outfits since she often has too much on her mind to take care of the smaller details in her life; wanderers often struggle to keep up with mundane tasks to some degree, which includes but isn’t limited to eating meals when hungry, drinking water when thirsty, grooming for personal hygiene, spacial awareness, and even timekeeping (Cadis is an extreme example)
Possesses a very high resistance to materialistic temptations like Alba, nevertheless enjoys strolling through markets to admire all the sparkly, charming and exquisite merchandise each vendor has on display even if she can’t see color
Thanks to the natural charm all wanderers bring with them to Earth, often gifted free items from said vendors delighted by her presence even if she has no intention to shop; accepts gifts enthusiastically as she appreciates their sincerity
A natural money magnet for vendors who treat her kindly, especially ones who give her gifts; customers come in droves and crowd around previously empty stalls within minutes of her arrival
On the flip side, also draws negative attention from those who instinctively fear the natural brilliance of her aura thus wish to harm her; luckily her parents vigilantly stop any malicious attacks from reaching their daughter, some of which are kidnapping attempts
Doesn’t get seasick
Pats and strokes Gina’s back when she’s throwing up from seasickness
Likes to hum, sing and whistle as she’s walking, forever cherishing melodies from her past incarnations, many of which affectionately taught to her by old friends and loved ones
When asked where she’s heard such songs by her parents, responds with a half-truth presented as a joke, something like “the cemetery ghosts” or “my imaginary lover”
Sometimes forgets the lyrics yet always remembers the tune perfectly which results in very weird songs after some fill-in-the-blanks
Only eats thoroughly cooked food
Terrified of bugs as she has a past incarnation where she was paralyzed after a badly infected bite
Slaps Mukul when his snoring is practically assaulting her eardrums
Complains to Mukul he needs to bathe more often to get rid of that musty odor, to which he sniffs himself while raising his brows in confusion as his nose picks up nothing; her mother isn’t of much help either as she describes her husband’s scent as "floral and delightful"... gah!
Glad that Mukul at least bathes every day in Rukedonya where baths are much more accessible and affordable than anywhere else on the planet
A passionate advocate for personal hygiene, especially oral health
Friends with another wanderer named Shilshah, who is also acquainted with Alba
Styles her hair in four long braids after taking inspiration from Shilshah’s hairstyle, though her bangs don’t cover her eyes like his does
Will be acquainted with Eliza in a future incarnation
Will be acquainted with Cadis in a future incarnation, precisely after he awakens
Matthias
Adoptive father of Cadis
Owner of a small business selling pots and pans, and other miscellaneous objects
A traveling local merchant who eventually settled down in one place once he felt like it was time to wrap it up, plus several years ago he picked up an orphaned baby boy whom he decided to raise and this child might not be suited for a constantly traveling lifestyle; he couldn’t have been more right in his prediction, as Cadis is the definition of an hermit
Has a big scar on his face across his jaw and a nose with a permanently runny right nostril from an incident involving someone accidentally spooking his carriage horse and him taking a hoof to the face; he’s lucky to not have had his skull busted open on the spot, but his nose didn’t heal properly even if it looks normal now so he must wipe it often
Was an orphan himself who lived with around ten other orphaned children whom he considers his brothers; unfortunately, everyone simply lost contact after growing up and drifting apart
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a jackal
Good buddies with the younger tavern owner Kenneth; helped him set up the tavern when it first opened, as well as designing the selection of items that prove to be very popular amongst customers
Senses there’s something unusual about Cadis but unsure of what it is; tries sending him to the doctor over the course of years, wasting money each time just to hear “He’s fine”
Tries his hardest to teach Cadis essential life skills to no avail
Smokes whenever Cadis does something stupid
Accidentally leaves Cadis standing outside in the cold thinking he’s inside his room, and once it’s past dinnertime and his presence is nowhere to be seen, discovers Cadis didn’t know how to open the door yet was too nice to knock so opted to wait for his father to fetch him; almost facepalms in exasperation but brushes the snow off his son’s clothes and hurries him inside, sighing in disbelief as he speculates if there’s even anything inside that pretty, little head of his
Believes his lucky number is twenty-one because everything good in his life has something to do with this specific number; he is also twenty-one years old when he finds and adopts baby Cadis
Enjoys the company of his employees Pantao and Takekiyo, especially appreciative of them after they move in and liven up the atmosphere in his home… and help him take care of his hopelessly dependent son
Meets and hires Pantao after selling his twenty-first merchandise of the day
Meets and hires Takekiyo twenty-one days after Cadis brings home the stray puppy
Originally quite worried about how Cadis is supposed to take care of himself once he dies, but feels reassured knowing Pantao (and hopefully Takekiyo) will be there for him; plans to leaves his shop to all three of them in his will
Glad he doesn’t have to meet and greet customers as much anymore since socializing isn’t his forte, giving Pantao his time to shine
Excels at snarky insults, though that’d only be detrimental to his business
Not the biggest fan of canines yet can’t get Cadis’ puppy to stop following him
Values freedom above all else, and hates individuals and organizations with excessive power who then use said power to abuse those lower in the hierarchy
Respects Lord Alba who is genuinely a good person, unsure whether his heir and daughter has inherited his mind
Wouldn’t ever dream of meeting the lord himself… lo and behold, he’s at the front door asking to see Cadis
Fears for his life after recovering from the initial shock of seeing Alba’s face and wonders what could he have possibly done to warrant a visit from lord himself; sighs of relief when Alba reassures him he has come for personal reasons
Entrusted with holding onto Alba’s sword to give to Cadis as a gift in the future once he passes, as the lord knows Cadis would refuse the gift otherwise
About to get into a lot of trouble with Rachel once she takes over the throne and starts searching every inch of the land until she finds her father’s sword
Has a past incarnation where he was a high-ranking priest, murdered after he tried to expose corruption
Has unresolved karma with Campbell and Yusri whom he will meet in future incarnations
Takekiyo
Employee of Matthias
Not native to Rukedonya; escaped from his homeland because his biological father was going to give him the equivalent of a death sentence, and coming to Rukedonya was his only option at the time
Currently trying to save up money and figure out how to realistically rescue his little sister Alice from their father Campbell, aiming to take her with him so she can be free of that madman
Briefly heard his father mention Alice’s to-be husband’s name right before he ran for his life… was it Yusri? Or something along those lines, he isn’t sure but hopes his sister’s husband would at least treat her with the respect she deserves and not be a monster
Was about to get into real trouble when he couldn’t answer the border guards’ interrogations for his purpose of visiting, until he spots Cadis who happened to have been aimlessly strolling around the area; perhaps it was a genius move to point at the black-haired man and claim he’s here to see him
Sweats bullets as the guards call Cadis over to confirm whether this potential intruder is in fact his guest, and to everyone’s surprise, he nods, turns around, and walks away; the guards whisper amongst themselves and let Takekiyo go because they just couldn’t bring themselves to doubt the Cadis, and if he says this man is his guest, then he is
Sheepishly follows Cadis back home because he has nowhere to go, but also because he wishes to apologize for making such a bizarre false statement just to get himself out of trouble
Surprised when Cadis invites him to come inside the shop instead of reprimanding the liar and his potential stalker… because he is his “guest”, despite a self-proclaimed one
Speaks a little bit of Rukedonyan thanks to self-studying the languages of potential countries to escape to back then when he was still trapped by his father
Temporarily stays with Kenneth, one of Matthias’ friends who agreed to shelter his buddy’s son’s “friend” as he had an empty shed available at the moment though the guest would have to move out before he moves supplies in
Ends up getting a job at Matthias’ shop as their second employee, and befriends their first employee Pantao
Moves into Matthias’ home at Cadis’ request, now a live-in employee along with Pantao
Uses his first salary to pay back Matthias the amount he paid Kenneth to host him
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a wisteria tree
Trained as an assassin his whole life, but attempted to defy his father which ended terribly for him thus leading to his escape
Long-ranged weapon specialist who coats his weapons with a lethal poison developed by his father
No longer has a need to fight after joining Matthias’ household but practices his skills nonetheless; needs to be fully prepared when he is ready to return to his homeland to confront his father and save his sister
Unaware that Campbell had tested his newest poisons on his own daughter in a twisted body modification experiment, and that she doesn’t remember her older brother anymore due to the incredibly traumatizing series of events permanently damaging her brain; will be beyond disturbed and heartbroken when he finds out
Hopes Alice’s personal servants Ume and Mira are taking care of her properly, as they grew up together and are practically sisters
Is (was) engaged to a woman named Maree but assumes Campbell’s arrangements for him with her would’ve already been dissolved since he’s currently a fugitive
Shares a room with Pantao in Matthias’ home, thought he sometimes sleeps in Cadis’ room
Platonically loves Pantao
Meticulously cleans and maintains his hair every single day so it’s as luscious and smooth as the finest roll of royal purple silk; occasionally gets weird comments from strangers more than willing to pay a pretty penny for his long locks, though he usually gives them an awkward smile before scurrying away
The one who picks up Cadis’ puppy’s poop, brushes its teeth, and combs its coat
Will be acquainted with Matthias and Pantao in his future incarnations
Pantao
Employee of Matthias
Not native to Rukedonya; trekked through the mountains then sailed across the ocean from his distant homeland to all the way to foreign land because his family elders’ divine fortune telling blessed him with certain directions for some faraway destination where his life shall “truly begin” and that it’d be crucial for him to follow this revelation etc.
The fortune telling never pinpointed the specific location nor did it name any notable landmarks, only vague directions which meant Pantao had to take wild guesses and rely on mostly his intuition
There was something about him needing to take a journey to the west etc… honestly he’s not sure if he’s in the right place but hey, if you’re disoriented, anywhere could be the west (he did in fact bring himself to the right place, what a miraculous feat!)
Oddly optimistic, with that energy being positively infectious
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was an electric eel
The youngest of eleven children at home, with dozens of cousins and even more distant relatives
Named after the legendary peach of immortality because a peach tree sprouted right after he was conceived
His parents’ favorite child, and beloved by all of his siblings who fight for whose turn it is to spoil him
Leaves the comforts of his homeland and family to fulfill his greater purpose because the fortune tellers’ wisdom is never wrong
Makes up random bullshit on the spot when Rukedonya’s border guards interrogate him, lying about how he’s here to see the descendants of relatives who have married into Rukedonya many generations ago; what’s even more unbelievable is that the names he makes up in fact do belong to real local residents, and they let him in
Persuades many with his smooth tongue and radiating confidence; somehow secures lodging in random strangers’ homes without spending a single penny, hopping from one home to another before he lands a job at Matthias’ shop, whose adopted son Cadis eventually invites him to stay at their place permanently and also free of charge
Speaks Rukedonyan thanks to conversing with other travelers fluent in the language on his way here; picks it up extremely quickly thanks to his talent for observing and predicting patterns
Gets compliments from even the most difficult of customers who all cite his cleverness as pleasant and amusing; recognized by Matthias for his extraordinary social skills
The one in the shop responsible for advertising the appeal of items to customers after Cadis the mannequin lures them inside with his handsome face, while Takekiyo takes care of the inventory and other behind-the-scenes work with Matthias
Shares a room with Takekiyo in Matthias’ home, thought he sometimes sleeps in Cadis’ room
Platonically loves Takekiyo
The one who walks and feeds Cadis’ puppy
The one who sleeps cuddling with the puppy at night
An expert tree climber nicknamed little monkey by his biological family
Writes home often and receives tons of replies, saving them in a wooden crate under his bed
Feels somewhat guilty and awkward for opening and reading his family’s replies with Takekiyo right beside him as the poor man is unable to communicate with his sister unless he wishes to risk exposing his location; relieved when Takekiyo asks him to teach him the language of his homeland as he naturally would like to know everything about his best friend
Actively learning Takekiyo’s native language as well
Knows everything about everyone
Might visit his homeland in the future; if he does, Takekiyo and Cadis might even tag along
Has dozens of nieces and nephews he has yet to meet, born after he departed for Rukedonya, only hearing about them in the piles of enthusiastic letters his siblings send him regularly
Will be acquainted with Matthias and Takekiyo in his future incarnations
Randall
Father of Lazarus and Raelen
One of Lord Alba’s high-ranking subordinates and also his childhood friend
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a bear
Extremely loyal to Alba, but doesn’t know that his lord is a wanderer because Alba never reveals this information to him despite his loyalty being on par with Karl’s; Alba appreciates his dedication but thinks it’s best if he doesn’t know in order to protect him… although Randall always has his lord’s best interests in mind, he isn’t exactly the brightest so this information is deliberately omitted to not cause any unnecessary confusion
Like Karl, would promise with utmost sincerity to follow Alba in future lifetimes if allowed the information, but that is not his destiny
Easily mistaken for Alba’s brother with his appearance, bearing even more resemblance to him than his real brother Karl; sometimes dresses to mimic Alba as his body double, making public appearances in his lord’s stead when he is really ill
The actual half-brother of Deus the baker, sharing the same father; it is unclear who is the older brother is
His father deceived a baker into believing he would take her as his wife, only to abandon her after impregnating her while ignoring her tearful pleas for him to return because she truly loved him; at that point he already had a legal wife, the mother of Randall
Neither brother is aware of the other’s existence, and it will likely stay that way
Oversees the monthly distribution of bloodstones to families, making sure every household receives the allotted amount
Issues punishments if bloodstone distribution workers are discovered to pocket what doesn’t belong to them
Shows no mercy to anyone attempting to or have broken the law
Loves his sons but will leave them behind without hesitation if that’s what his lord orders him; emotionally detached
On the contrary, ordered by Alba to spend more time with his children, especially the younger one
Friends with Genesius, though for a man who is arguably Alba’s most devoted follower, has no idea Genesius is actively betraying their lord and going against his wishes
Leader of a team of elite personnel tasked with tracking down and bringing back Robin and Invidia, preferably alive
Making little progress due to the work of perhaps the most unexpected insider
Unable to enjoy music though he is able to perceive and analyze it objectively
Has unresolved karma with Franklin whom he will meet in future incarnations
Lazarus
Eldest son of Randall
A quiet man who stays close to Rachel’s side as her shadow, to Kalev’s slight displeasure… but, he could be useful in the future, so Kalev lets him be
The actual primary caretaker of his younger brother Raelen, disciplining problematic behavior and providing emotional support because their father seems to have other priorities in mind
Somewhat self-conscious of being regarded as Randall’s superior son, as he loves Raelen and doesn’t wish to outshine him forever but perhaps Raelen is reluctant to step out of his older brother’s shadow and into the sunlight
Second-in-command of Randall’s team currently investigating Robin and Invidia’s whereabouts
Firm believer of the end justifies the means; while he maintains his dignified image on the surface, will choose foul play over fair fight if it means getting faster and better results as the passage of time is the most unforgiving of all and he has none to waste
Proves himself to be somewhat of a hypocrite as he teaches Raelen to be honorable, even if the latter doesn’t seem to be actively absorbing said teachings anyway
Slightly ashamed and confused with himself because he currently has a crush on both Rachel and Kalev, and his mind is telling him he should commit to one of them which explains the discomfort as his heart’s desires are in disagreement with whatever core principles he believes he must uphold; Rachel’s taken and Kalev’s preoccupied with other matters, however
Generally attracted to cynical people despite having his own moral compass, which he follows unless there is someone worth abandoning that for
Another candidate Rachel is considering for “recruitment” to help her dispose of Alba one day; if she so wishes, she could twist and bend his unconditional loyalty into the most formidable weapon under her command… but she doesn’t, for unknown reasons
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a bear
Acquainted with Deus whose bakery he frequents, buying freshly baked meals for himself and his subordinates; completely in the dark about being the owner’s nephew
The least picky of all the elite children and would be content with eating what they consider “trash” or “pig slop” each and every meal, every day, every year without any complaints as long as it’s nutritionally sufficient
Lets Rosella and Di Lu stuff cookies in his mouth one after another like coins to a vending machine as they have fun betting on how many they can fit in there… well, as long as it’s just the three of them
Lowers his head and bows in apology to Di Lu for how Raelen harasses “her” on a daily basis, while Rosella comments on how that brat is simply hopeless which Lazarus can’t refute and instead sighs in defeat, eyes continuing to widen with worry as she offhandedly lists his other misdemeanors of the day
Grunts when Rosella jokingly wonders out loud how he’s supposed to effectively catch criminals with his restricted field of view having that eye covered with his hair when Di Lu who’s sitting right next to her has a similar if not almost identical hairstyle
Genuinely hates the sound of laughter but tolerates it if it’s coming from his friends
Misses the old Yi Ke before the split personalities, personally can’t stand the clown but is always patient with his friend nonetheless
Has a case of congenital insensitivity to pain which means he has to rely on other cues to detect and avoid danger and injuries
Sustains a slash to his abdomen while subduing a dangerous criminal, not realizing he was bleeding out until his subordinates rushed to his aid
The guard/chaperon assigned to Mukul, Aslaug and Gina whenever they visit Rukedonya
The man Robin suspects to have impregnated Invidia… clearly he doesn’t know his daughter’s preferences
Has unresolved karma with Raelen whom he will meet in future incarnations, most likely as family again
Raelen
Youngest son of Randall
A young man who is constantly overshadowed by his competent, graceful older brother who gets most of their father’s attention when he does decide to acknowledge his children
Set to learn the lesson of letting go of judgement in his current incarnation as “Raelen”
Madly in love with Di Lu, whom he has unresolved karma with as he was murdered before they could share their life as a truly married couple in one of their past incarnations together
Tries to get Di Lu to acknowledge him, growing more frustrated and desperate at his unrequited feelings by the day as the once tender flames of love transform into an uncontrollable wildfire, scorching him from the inside out
Very judgmental with certain criteria to sort people into categories with and subsequently determining how much respect and dignity he shows them, or, should he say, they deserve from him
Hostile towards people he deems ugly, believes the lack of beauty to be an indicator of evil, a lack of morals, etc.
Believes ugly people who don’t know they’re ugly are even more despicable than ugly people who do know they’re ugly
Looks down on commoners and nobles with commoner blood… but, Di Lu is an exception despite his father being a commoner and a foreign one at that, most likely due to the unresolved karma from a past lifetime overriding Raelen’s values in his current lifetime
Ignores Yi Ke just like Selina
Friends with Selina who steals his energy/vitality without him noticing plus he has plenty of it, enough for her to have a buffet; doesn’t give Selina much personal space and often gets within an inch of her face with his own but she doesn’t mind and even welcomes the undoubtedly rude behavior, as proximity makes it easier for energy vampires like her to prey on her victims
Repulsed whenever Selina shows up with Laurie, sneering at “the mutt” as he despises commoners, but, more like Laurie’s true parentage is still a mystery to everyone
Will change his attitude immediately if Laurie’s noble blood is ever revealed
Surprisingly perceptive as he and Rosella are the only two people to notice Lazarus’ not-so-obvious crushes on Rachel and Kalev; cheers on his brother when they’re in private
Whines when Lazarus refuses his offer to help break up Rachel and Rosella so he’d get a shot at courting her, then cowers when his older brother sternly warns him to never speak of their future lord’s happiness with such disrespect again; recognizes Lazarus’ aura when he truly means discipline
Oddly enough, enjoys the sensations of chills down his spine and goosebumps on his skin when Lazarus punishes him… though to deliberately provoke his older brother is like tiptoeing around landmines, as he truly fears the Lazarus who can personally execute a criminal without batting an eye, even if the criminal is his own immediate family
The insider who keeps Invidia, and Robin, informed of his father and brother’s every move, helping them stay hidden from the numerous eyes and ears scouring the land
Has several reasons behind his unjustifiable betrayal of his people, friends, family, and Alba… perhaps just a little anxious about how long his act of treason will stay undetected as he’s currently at the mercy of the remaining trust they have in him, before they start suspecting him as well
Doesn’t regret his choice per se, but does periodically wonder what this means for his future… but, if he were to go back in time and choose again with the knowledge he possesses in the present, he’d still choose to side with Invidia
Has a past incarnation where he was lost and stumbled upon Invidia’s village, frail and on the brink of death from starvation but saved when she came out with a bowl of hot porridge and hand-fed him, to which he then made the promise to return the life-saving gesture if she ever requires his aid; life for a life indeed, they meet again and now his soul must honor its promise to her at the price of his loved ones in this lifetime
If this pattern shall continue, he will spend his next incarnation cleaning up after the mess he makes as “Raelen” by compensating the loved ones “Raelen” has wronged, while betraying the loved ones of his next incarnation, and so on etc.
It isn’t at all uncommon for the entangled karma of souls to manifest as a never-ending cycle of indecisiveness and grief across incarnations, and it’s every soul’s responsibility to define and enforce boundaries; As “Raelen”, his soul is struggling to make progress in this regard as his human emotions cloud his higher self’s judgement
Wears a locket necklace containing a portrait of Di Lu in one half and his father and brother in the other; looks innocuous like every other locket necklace but is actually designed to hold a deadly pill behind each portrait, one to give to another and one for Raelen to take himself if he is ever desperate enough to resort to death
Fiddles with his necklace when he’s anxious, opening and closing it repeatedly, tracing his fingers around the portraits etc.
Commissions the special locket necklace around the time he betrays his people; the identity of the craftsman remains unknown
Often cries himself to sleep due to his conflicting values taking a toll on his physical body, regularly suffering from headaches, stomachaches, and heart pain
Needs to love himself first as his core/foundation is weak and built on the validation of others
A human whose soul’s origin is native to Earth; before his first incarnation as a human, he was a ginkgo tree
Has a weird on-and-off habit, or hobby, or unhealthy coping mechanism, of copying those he harbors affection for and desires to please; he dresses like them, mimics their patterns of speech, studies how they stand, walk and sit, even syncing his own breathing with theirs
Believes if he truly morphs into someone, then they will truly love him, at least when he doesn’t switch back to feeling disgusted with himself for thinking like that
Obsessively wipes his completely clean hands with handkerchiefs claiming they smell of blood, rubbing his fingers so aggressively his skin is raw and irritated; develops this behavior after Robin and Invidia’s disappearance but someone has yet to connect the dots
Bumps into Matthias who is running errands outside and in the spur of a moment, pulls out a dagger and stabs the unsuspecting shopkeeper in the back simply because he didn’t like his “bad attitude” and “pathetic existence”, promptly punished by Lazarus who apologizes to Matthias and compensates for his injuries with money
Wants to track down and kill Matthias for making his brother punish him thus humiliating him too
Locks himself in his room when he’s upset, completely inconsolable until he finishes digesting his own thoughts
Ironically, often sneaks out of his noble residence dressed as a cloaked commoner because he quite enjoys and even appreciates the rustic lifestyle; of course would rather die than admit it
Has unresolved karma with Genesius, Selina and Laurie whom he will meet in future incarnations
Notes:
Robin and Invidia are depicted in their costumes before their escape, and Pantao and Takekiyo before they leave their homelands
Ages of characters are flexible unless explicitly stated
Characters are roughly drawn to scale in relation to each other
The characters mentioned by name only in this part two will be featured in part three
I’m not sure if I will do part three anymore so if I don’t ever do part three then this part one and two are considered complete on their own
Thank you for reading!

I'd love to see your noblesse ocs in 10 (in a suit)! Getting the RK treatment, you know. Though I guess it'd also be 7 since I want to see them both <3
What good choices!
I had a lot of fun with these prompts! I have not really posted about these two and I really need to change that! Also I am not too sure about Toths design. He looks way too much like Rael (I think it's the hair ( ˶°ㅁ°) !!).
Have some facts about these two!
First, Tale:
Tale is not a pure blood noble (her mother was a human)
She is the same height as Raizel - 188 cm/6'2
She is the same age as Frankenstein
Her favourit colour is green
She loves baking - her mothers side of the family owns a little cafe
After her parents death she was raised by many different generations of her mothers family and Gejutel, who was her fathers best friend
Tale was engaged to Toths father befor they were forcfully seperated - she still wears the engagment ring
She is the current family/clan leader of the Faruq clan - that makes her the fifth family/clan leader
About the family:
The Faruq family are the judges of the nobles
The family is based on egyptian mythology - they are Anubis (think Karias being cupid)
They are the weakest family since most of the family leaders are alive - besides two
Together they are the strongest and only together they can pass judgment on family/clan leaders
Toth:
He is the second oldest of the current youngest noble generation (right after Rajak)
He is 182 cm/5'11
He is a scientist like his parents - much to his mothers dissmay (she can't count how many times she had to replace the lab)
He is only a quarter noble (his father is a human)
His best friend is/was Rajak (this hurts to write *sobs* Rajak...)
He loves reading and researching everything
He sometimes works part-time at the cafe as a waiter - he is very popular amongst customers much to his annoyance
His name originally was suppossed to be Joan. But I have now changed it to Toth.
Sooo yeah! I think that is all for now! One more fact for good measure: They both work as doctors and scientists at the KSA.
Can you guess who Toths father is? ( • ̀ω•́ )✧
Close up under cut

Blood Moon AU!! Part 2 - Werewolves
Second part of my second major AU, Blood Moon AU. The nobles and werewolves basically have a race swap in an almost brand new setting.
For more info, check out my first post where I explained the general lore and setting of this AU (highly recommended for a better understanding because characters in this post reference characters in the one linked below here):
I didn’t do every character because there’s a lot of them, so I left out ones that don’t have major roles in the story. If they have a name in canon, then they all exist in this AU, just that I haven’t named/drawn them yet. Maybe in the future if I feel like it. But for now, this is pretty much it.
The characters.
Peach: Current Lord of the Werewolves. Adoptive father of twins Ruth and Rosemary. Peach isn’t his real name. No one knows what his real name is. He never mentions it, and he simply smiles and doesn’t answer when asked. Peach is just the nickname the werewolves came up for him at some point because his face is covered in small fuzzy hairs which gives him the appearance of a fresh peach. And no one can really recall how he became Lord. It just sort of happened. The werewolves all agreed that he’s good for the job, and the throne became his in the blink of an eye. Okay then, sigh, fiiiiine, he’ll do it. The werewolves seem quite happy about it. It’s almost like they all voted on him. And the previous Lord has had enough and decided it was time for him to retire and enjoy the rest of his days with his family, so he was more than enthusiastic to step down and hand things over to Peach. Peach was confused about being put into a leadership role out of the blue, but he adjusted very well and does a good job of caring for his people. Perhaps the werewolves realized that physical strength is not the only attribute of a good leader. Maybe this is what they call change, and that they have evolved from the old ways. Anyways, Peach does qualify for role of Lord since he is decent at fighting and an impressive warrior, but his greatest strengths lie in his communication skills and diplomatic nature when it comes to problem solving and negotiation.
Peach is responsible for communicating with Marcus and his fellow nobles of the secret noble organization regarding transportation and distribution of resources from Lukedonia to werewolf island. Peach is eternally grateful to Marcus and his allies for going as far as to betray their noble Lord and in the process risk their own lives to help the werewolves survive and thrive in these trying times. The werewolves do have their own means of production, but it’s not enough and they need some extra help. And Marcus and his nobles answered. Peach just can’t thank them enough. Peach is also good friends and pen pals with Marcus. They call each other “Peachy” and “Maduke” in their letters.
Peach puts his own needs behind those of his people. When Marcus’ supplies of food, money, and other essential items arrive, Peach always tells his people to pick everything they need and even bring home some extras. He waits for everyone to take their share, then he picks from whatever is left. This often results in him not eating enough, though his weight loss is also partially due to him subconsciously eating less than what he really needs. He does this out of love for his people, and he wants to save every extra bite for someone who might need it… even if there are enough resources to go around a few times thanks to Marcus. Peach just wants everyone to have a good life, and being their leader means putting his people above all else, including himself. The werewolves are aware of their Lord’s tendencies to unintentionally skip meals, and they figured out a way to solve that. They would tell him that they won’t eat unless he does too, and then Peach would eat because he doesn’t want his people to starve themselves. If it works, it works. Peach appreciates his people just as much as they appreciate him. They know it’s no easy job to be Lord, and they’re all there to support him. Peach has their full respect and this unanimous sentiment is more than rock solid. He is their only candidate for Lord and they will never challenge him for as long as he’s willing to sit on the throne. There probably are quite a few werewolf warriors who are stronger than him and could defeat him in a duel, but no one even thinks of challenging him despite the old rules stating how the strongest gets to rule them all. Peach is simply too precious. Quite unusual for a warlike supernatural race, maybe even too peaceful to be true, but it’s real. The werewolves are one big happy pack.
Peach has no biological children, though the number of werewolf women who are eyeing him and more than willing to have his children can probably form a line all the way up to Mother Moon in space. It makes sense, he’s literally the perfect man.
Peach has two adopted daughters, Ruth and Rosemary, whom he found by the werewolves’ equivalent of a dumpster. He felt sorry that their parents didn’t want them, and took them in and raised them as his own.
Ruth: Adopted daughter of Peach, and Rosemary’s twin. Ruth is rather sensitive and has a tendency to make decisions based on feelings and impulse, and needs to learn not to jump to conclusions. She is also prone to overthinking and still doubts Peach’s love for her to this day. Ruth thinks her father only adopted her out of pity and that he is only nice to her because it makes him feel good about himself, which are all false. This puts a strain on their relationship and Peach has a hard time bonding with Ruth, and Rosemary takes up most of the communication between these two. Ruth does genuinely love Peach as her father but she just needs plenty of reassurance. Other than that, she’s a pretty chill person despite being stoic at times. Technically, Ruth has a lot of privileges as the daughter of the Lord, but just like her father, she has an immense love for her people thus never actually uses the perks she’s entitled to. Like Peach, she waits for others to take what they need and scavenges for the leftovers, though Peach always stops her and asks her eat properly because she’s still growing. When Ruth refuses and insists on being like her father, Peach then orders her to eat and she has to listen to him. It’s the only time Peach ever orders Ruth to do anything and it’s a running joke in the family, to the former’s amusement and the latter’s annoyance.
Ruth is also a bit of an odd one out when compared to her fellow werewolves because she somehow finds fighting with a sword to be much more natural and swift as opposed to using her claws like werewolves are supposed to. It just feels way more intuitive, and she knows how to fight in that style. Too bad no one shares this feeling, and to this day Ruth remains the only person who can teach herself. Peach is looking into bringing proficient swordsmen into werewolf island so his daughter can have someone to bond and train with. His success is limited, and Ruth is stuck with self-learning. Maybe another day. People think it’s funny how the Lord’s daughter favors swinging around some sharp stick over Mother Moon’s gift of transformation and hand-to-hand combat. Well, she’s already kind of weird, so. Sticks over fists, y’all.
Ruth has a crush on Kenji.
Rosemary: Adopted daughter of Peach, and Ruth’s twin. While Ruth is skittish and distant, Rosemary is social and upbeat. Rosemary hopes that her sister will eventually see that her assumptions about their father’s feelings for her are only misunderstandings, but for now she’ll keep acting as the bridge between these two because Ruth isn’t exactly enthusiastic about sitting face to face and talking it out with pops Peach just yet. Rosemary just sighs. This is also why Rosemary is closer to their father because she has no problems with expressing herself and the communication between them is much better. Rosemary is the less independent twin and likes to stick around Peach for most of her day because she simply likes being around him, and the latter is quite flattered. She enjoys assisting Peach with his work and she’s one of the most hard-working volunteers who helps to transport and distribute the contents of Marcus’ packages to the citizens of werewolf island.
While Rosemary enjoys hand-to-hand combat, she also likes to study magic and draws magic circles in her free time. Being a werewolf magician is just so cool. Shooting powerful laser beams and setting up movement restriction spells? That’s a YES. Rosemary is a big fan of noble streamer Zivon Tradio, who goes by “GlitterDream KittyPaws” on the internet. Perhaps she can alter and adapt some of his spells for her own use. She also has a bunch of his merch, with a pink nail filer with his face on it as the latest addition to her collection. Peach is aware of Rosemary’s hobby and is supportive of her. It’d be fun if she can learn some tricks and give him a new hairdo in the snap of a finger! So fun.
Rosemary has a crush on Cloudy.
Ronan: Younger brother of Larke. A haughty and prideful werewolf with a certain hatred for nobles. Ronan insists that he despises all of them even though many of the foods he eats and the things he uses were generous gifts to them from Marcus, who is… a noble. His argument is that the noble Lord is incredibly selfish and malicious for monopolizing almost all the available resources in the world for Lukedonia and that Marcus is just doing what he’s supposed to do, to redistribute some of that back to the inhabitants of the world, which includes his pack. It does make some sense, but Ronan completely ignores the huge risks Marcus has taken by going against his Lord and he is somewhat ungrateful. His older brother Larke tries to correct him, to no avail.
Ronan is known for his speed, though Larke is even faster than him. He takes great pride in his brother’s achievements as well as his own. Ronan tries hard to impress Larke and loves him very much, though he doesn’t tell him that his deepest fear is that Larke will abandon him one day; a fear that will never come true but haunts him nonetheless.
Ronan also has a dislike for humans but he secretly loves spicy ramyeon and chocolate coated cookie sticks. It’s almost like a guilty pleasure to him, and he’d get all embarrassed when someone points out his double standards. Marcus occasionally sends human treats to werewolf island as well, and you can bet Ronan’s always rushing to check what’s new. He’s too prideful to admit it. Sigh.
Ronan has a crush on Sapphire and is borderline obsessed with her. He used to invade her personal space all the time but over time he has learned to not be an ass. He genuinely cares about her, and wants to win her heart one day. He’d gladly be Remi’s stepfather if both mother and son let him, but Remi doesn’t really like him. Rip. He tries to get Remi to like him, though.
Larke: Older brother of Ronan. Larke is famous for being the fastest of the werewolves. He and his brother Ronan’s late father was also known for his speed. Larke was able to push his own limits and at some point surpassed their father, which is a huge achievement. Larke might not talk much, but he cares a lot for his loved ones. Their father died when Ronan was a toddler and Larke raised him in his father’s stead. Ronan means everything to Larke and the latter would sacrifice anything for his younger brother. Larke is also completely dedicated to werewolf island and he believes that one day the most fulfilling way to die is to give up his life defending his home. For this reason, Larke trains day and night to become even stronger and always strives to overcome his limits. Larke is also wary of the nobles and more or less anticipates a surprise attack from Lukedonia given the nature of their Lord, though he doesn’t say it out loud like Ronan does. His gut feeling tells him that his father’s death had something to do with the nobles despite the lack of evidence.
Larke has a crush on Kameron.
Kenji: No one knows what his origins are. Kenji is one of the werewolves not native to werewolf island. Instead, he came from the outside and joined the clan here to escape his former clan. The clan he was born into was too aggressive and always at internal conflict, and that is not the lifestyle he wants. They were too bloodthirsty and merciless, and it wasn’t uncommon to wake up to a couple of dead bodies lying around soaked in fresh pools of blood. Those bodies would then be kicked around and ultimately dragged away and tossed into the ocean before the stench hit. The werewolves there treated this as normal occurrence. Just another day, no big deal. It’s too much for someone like Kenji. Kenji just wants peace and quiet, which is exactly what Peach’s clan can offer to him. He had heard rumors about Peach’s clan and ultimately left his old clan in search of a new home despite there being richer material resources in his homeland. It’s just not worth it to stay. And he is right. Peach’s clan is more much peaceful and conflicts only go as far as harmless personal drama. Peach listened to Kenji’s story and welcomed him to join their family, and Kenji’s been doing very well ever since. Sometimes Kenji accidentally hurts members of his new clan out of reflex simply because he had to stay on guard to defend himself at all times in his old clan, and that has taken a toll on his mind. His new family is very understanding of him, and tells him it’s okay, they’ll help him together. Kenji tears up every time they’re nice to him. Aww, he’s just a big ol’ teddy bear despite his scary appearance.
Long ago, in his homeland, Kenji had two daughters and a son but they all died from being caught up in the warriors’ internal conflict. Even his partner fell victim to one of the fights there, and Kenji wasn’t able to save them in time. To this day he refuses to get attached to anyone because he doesn’t want to experience loss anymore.
Linden: Son of an unnamed human father and werewolf mother. Linden is quite an oddity among his kind for being half-human. He’s definitely not the only one, but there’s not many of them. Growing up wasn’t easy because his heritage means that his body is a bit different from everyone else’s, and that his parents couldn’t fully grasp how to best raise their son because he is neither werewolf nor human, instead something in between. Linden’s father was one of the very few humans to reside in werewolf island as a permanent “member” of the pack. His parents had a happy, fulfilling life together and his father eventually died of old age and now it’s just Linden and his mother. Linden tries his hardest to adapt to a werewolf lifestyle but he doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of them. He looks like a pureblooded werewolf and acts and thinks like one, but the human blood in his veins would render him unable to keep up with the rest of his peers. His friends are extra careful with him because they’re afraid he might just fall apart if he accidentally trips himself or something. It’s okay, Linden’s tougher than he looks. He insists that they include him on their activities. He’s a bit slow and less strong, but he’ll catch up in a minute. Linden is a joy to be around so everyone likes him, even if he’s not quite at their level.
Linden has a special thing for tea. He likes to forage for leaves and puts them in boiling water to see how they taste. It’s so much fun! He’d take the leaves and dry them, age them, mix them with other ingredients etc. to create a variety of tastes. Though he has to be careful because some things that pureblooded werewolves have natural full immunity to are still dangerous to him. Once he almost went to the other side from drinking something he crafted without checking the contents carefully and his friends were barely able to pull him back from having one foot in the grave. Well, he had no one to check with, he thought he had full immunity just like everyone else! Now he knows. In the present day, the entire werewolf community is watching out for him. Oh my, thank you!
Linden has a crush on Ronan, and Rosemary, and Ruth, and many others. He ends up liking anyone who is nice to him.
Cloudy: Daughter of unnamed werewolves. She got her name from being born on a cloudy day. Cloudy is rather shy, and the only person whom she’s totally comfortable being around is her elderly father. He had Cloudy quite late, so he put all of his attention into her and she grew up rather sheltered. He did most of the talking for her, almost acting as her spokesperson. Cloudy would clutch onto her father’s robes and hide behind him when others approached and only grew out of it in adulthood. Sometimes, out of reflex, she still reaches her hand out expecting to grab onto a piece of cloth for comfort. Oops. She’s doing a great job though. Cloudy has her own group of good friends and they’re very caring with her. Rosemary, Kameron, and Linden are part of this group. Sapphire too if she decides to tag along. They like going to the beaches together and they’d sit on the sand and stargaze while listening to the waves and the gulls. Sometimes they’d also bury Linden until only his head is above the sand. And they’d all laugh together. Cloudy’s father was worried about her and what will happen after he dies because she’s so attached to him, but seeing his girl with her awesome friends has reassured him that she will be just fine after his soul returns to Mother Moon’s embrace.
Cloudy is one of the few if not only werewolf to not eat any meat. Like just no meat at all. This is a very strange thing for a werewolf to do, as the werewolves’ diet had been pretty much meat-only since the beginning of time, only to have evolved into more mixed one as of recently. Still, they’re mostly carnivores. Cloudy’s love of animals is very strong so she doesn’t eat any, as she can’t see them as food no matter how hard she tries. She’s fine with milk and eggs and such, just nothing harvested from an animal’s body. This diet would cause her to not be able to fully channel the strengths of a werewolf, but that’s fine to her since she was never really a fighter on the inside to begin with. Plus, she can just chill with Linden in the back. She can show him her colorful crystal collection and they’ll excitedly chat about where to find more.
Cloudy has a crush on Ruth.
Kameron: Son of unnamed werewolves. Kameron was the product of a short fling between his parents. His mother was a wandering traveler who stumbled upon werewolf island and that’s how she met his father. She left werewolf island and said her permanent goodbyes to her partner and then-toddler son to continue on with her travels, leaving her partner to raise Kameron on his own. Kameron and his father have a great relationship despite their differences in personality. Like his mother, Kameron is easygoing and cheerful. He has a talent for putting up smiles on people’s faces by being funny or making a fool of himself, or both. He always jokes about how Ruth and Rosemary are his long-lost sisters even though that’s clearly not the case. Peach thinks it’s hilarious.
Kameron has a fascination with noble culture. Sure, Lukedonia’s not the greatest place and its inhabitants are a mixed bag, but it’s still so interesting. He wants to know everything about them. What they do for fun, what their jobs are like, how the weather is over there, do they get to control their own weather, how does it feel to read minds, how does it feel to get your minds read, do you even have eating utensils and beds if you don’t need food or sleep, do you pee and poo, why is everyone’s eyes red, blah blah blah… the questions are endless and he is overflowing with excitement and curiosity. Kameron daydreams about picking up a random noble from the streets and just interviewing them all day long, asking questions to his satisfaction. It’s just so cool to be a noble. Kameron likes being a werewolf, of course, he’s just drawn by the unknown. Perhaps he’ll even marry a noble one day, haha. Just kidding, that’s impossible. It’s better to stay at home, he thinks. No way that’s happening.
Kameron has a crush on Larke, though the two of them don’t know that the feeling mutual. Kameron likes to tease Larke and Larke pretends to hate it even though he likes it and wants Kameron to talk to him more. There’s quite some unresolved tension between them and who knows where it’ll go.
Gregory: Father of Sapphire, and grandfather of Remi. Gregory was Peach’s father figure during the latter’s youth. He still is, and Peach relies on him for advice. Gregory is one of the few people whom Peach can truly relax around because he knows that he’ll be treated as a normal werewolf and not Lord of the werewolves, which is what everyone sees him as. Gregory knows that Peach gets tired from being put on a pedestal all the time, and as much as Peach enjoys being in a leadership position, too much is too much. When these two are alone, Peach would jokingly complain to Gregory about how sitting on the cold, hard throne all day just hurts his buttcheeks and even his superior werewolf healing can’t save him. They’d have a laugh about it and talk about family drama and stuff. Though not related by blood, these two are very much family by bond. Gregory’s nickname for blonde werewolf is Peachfuzz. In return, he gets called Grandpa Grumpy. Aww.
At some point the nickname Grandpa Grumpy spread across werewolf island and now most of the pack calls him that instead of his actual name, as an affectionate way of addressing him. He’s fine with it. They all love and respect him for his wisdom, and for that he is grateful.
Gregory does have a real family. He has a daughter named Sapphire who looks just like him. As a father, Gregory feels troubled because Sapphire is too polite and formal with him. He wishes that she can be more casual around him. While Gregory is aware that being reserved is part of Sapphire’s personality, he can’t help but wonder if she will ever let him into her life, even just a bit. What she’s doing, how she’s feeling, what she ate for lunch, what she wants for dinner, did she make new friends… she doesn’t seem to share much. He knows it is possible that she just doesn’t want him to worry, but she’s still his kid and he’s supposed to worry about her. Gregory always lets her know that he is there for her. In a way, Sapphire reminds him of his late partner, who was also distant and private. Other than that, Gregory and Sapphire are a loving family and they have their moments here and there.
Sapphire: Daughter of Gregory, and mother of Remi. Sapphire is quiet and mysterious. While she doesn’t reject being in a social setting, she prefers to sit on the sidelines and doesn’t initiate any sort of interaction unless she’s being interacted with. Rosemary, a good friend of hers, makes sure she’s included in activities. Sapphire would just blush and follow her friend group around. They know she’s not cold, she’s just a little quieter and that’s fine. Everything is normal and time passes by peacefully until one day, Sapphire’s belly starts to grow and she could no longer hide the baby she’s carrying. Gregory and all her friends are shocked. They thought they had her trust, but she never told anyone. They’re surprised because they’ve never seen Sapphire with another werewolf, and that she’s going to be a mother at such a young age. By human standards, she’d be a teen mom. Gregory tries to be gentle and very carefully asks his daughter who the father is, if she doesn’t mind sharing. Sapphire just closes her eyes and silently shakes her head, refusing to answer. It’s alright then, if she doesn’t want to say anything. They’ll help her the best they can.
Everything continues smoothly and the due date neared. This is when tragedy happens. For the first time ever, Sapphire is crying. There had been evidence of an abduction and several werewolves had disappeared. Sapphire’s partner was one of them. Traces pointed to Lukedonia, hinting that this was the deed of nobles, but there was nothing solid enough for them to hold against the nobles. In the end, they couldn’t save him. Or any of them. Sapphire was grief-stricken and refused to eat, almost killing herself and her unborn baby, until Gregory begged and begged for her to please take care of herself and that he cannot lose her. Unwilling to sadden her father, she starts to eat again and her body returns to normal.
Soon, Sapphire gives birth to a son and she names him Remi. Remi will never have a father, but she will try her best to raise him. Sapphire doesn’t really have any hobbies that stand out because she spends most of her time on Remi so she never really gets the chance to explore with her life.
Sapphire is too busy to like anyone. She does have a lot of admirers, many of whom are more than willing to take care of her and Remi as her partner and Remi’s stepfather. Ronan is one of them. Sapphire rejects all of them, but they just keep coming back. Remi shoos them away for her. Maybe one day Sapphire will find love again, but right now she is still mourning her partner who is currently permanently missing with no news of his fate whatsoever.
(Eventually she does find love and has her happily ever after. In the far future she has another child aka Remi’s half-sibling with a nice werewolf guy, when Remi is an adult)
Remi: Son of Sapphire, and grandson of Gregory. Remi is stubborn and tends to react emotionally to things. He thinks this is his fault and blames himself for being temperamental, but in reality he’s just his father’s son. Other than his looks, he doesn’t resemble his mother much. Remi is in a bit of a special situation. Sapphire is his mother, but they’re more like siblings. This is partially due to Sapphire having him at a young age, but mostly due to his grandfather Gregory suggesting that he grows up as his mother’s brother instead of her son. This is to take some stress off Sapphire’s shoulders so she won’t need to be anxious all the time. Originally, Sapphire could’ve raised Remi together with her partner, but that became impossible due to the abduction incident. Raising Remi alone is too much for a young Sapphire, so Gregory stepped up. He doesn’t mind raising his grandson as his son, and tells Sapphire that she can choose to go on and enjoy life as she wishes and leave Remi to him. Whatever she decides, he will be supportive. Sapphire is grateful for her father’s offer, but ultimately decides to be a very involved sister-ish mother in Remi’s life. And that’s that. Their family is a bit special with unconventional dynamics, but still loving nonetheless. Remi calls his mother by her name and his grandfather “Father”. Neither of them minds and they’re quite content with it. Sapphire’s friends also treat Remi as one of them and often ask her if her “brother” wants to tag along for hunting or fishing or something.
Remi’s primary goal in life is to gain power. He wants to grow up to become a strong and wise warrior like his grandfather, and he’s a bit impatient with it, despite being so young and still having lots of time in front of him. Gregory tells him not to worry. Other than that, Remi is rather dense and doesn’t know how to have fun. His friends have to drag him outside or else he’s just training all day.
Remi doesn’t like Ronan and finds him to be creepy. Remi once slapped Ronan across the face when the latter called him “my son”. He knows Ronan has a huge crush on his sister-mom but that’s just going too far. Just… ew. No thanks, bye bye. And stay away from her because she’s not interested!
Remi is too dense to like anyone. (For now)
Zen: Son of unnamed werewolves. Zen is respectful and composed, which are traits that become even more obvious when compared to his best friend Ulrich. Zen is an independent thinker. While he does appreciate Lord Peach and noble Marcus’ efforts to keep the werewolves afloat with extra resources, he believes that the werewolves should gradually wean themselves off the nobles’ help and become truly self-sufficient. It’s not beneficial to rely on outside help and who knows if one day the nobles will come and ask for the werewolves to return the favor since they’ve been “indebted” to them for so long. Zen doesn’t like the idea of his pack having something that can potentially be used against them. In reality, Marcus and his organization would never do such a thing, as they really are altruistic with their good deeds. Still, Zen has a hard time trusting them and he can’t bring himself to let his guard down. Zen has told Peach about his concerns, and the latter has reassured him that his worries will never come to be. Zen thinks otherwise. Peach appreciates Zen’s efforts to watch out for him and their big family, and jokes that he should take a “chill pill”. Zen is not amused.
In his free time, Zen just hangs out with Ulrich. He’s down to do whatever Ulrich is up for. He’s even willing to leave werewolf island and follow his best friend to the ends of the earth if that’s what he wants. That’s how much Ulrich means to him. Sometimes, Zen has dreams where he and Ulrich are in another strange universe where they are not werewolves; instead they are a supernatural race and the dream ends with both of them getting executed by a mysterious winged being. Maybe he’s just too tired, that’s why he’s making up all this crazy shit. But it’s too realistic to be a simple illusion. This gives Zen the chills.
When Ulrich is busy, Zen makes art with chains. He links them one by one. Your average werewolf would find that to be rather boring. Zen thinks it’s therapeutic.
Zen doesn’t have a crush on anyone, though he has a platonic love for Ulrich.
Ulrich: Son of an unnamed half-werewolf mother and werewolf father. Ulrich is mostly pretty tame though he can get fairly angry and jealous when he is upset, where he then tends to lash out at things and people nearby. Probably not the best judgement, because being three-quarters werewolf means that he’s weaker than most of whom he provokes and often ends up getting his regretful ass beaten. Probably deserved it. They didn’t start it, he did, so it’s always his fault. Ulrich would then sulk in the corner with a bloody nose and some bruises and complain to Zen about how the latter is late at comforting him. Zen would just sigh, shake his head, and come over and crouch down with Ulrich and tell him “better not do it next time” as he pats him on the shoulder. Ulrich never listens and he’s definitely doing it again. His one braincell simply never learns. And this cycle continues in an almost comedic manner. Zen is more than capable of defeating Ulrich in a spar at any given moment, but he lets his best friend boss him around without any objections. Ulrich doesn’t even know Zen is just super chill and nice. There’s not another soul in this world who will tolerate his less than favorable attitude and temper without some form of retaliation.
Ulrich is also a bit of a hypocrite. He can hang out others all he wants, but he gets upset when he sees Zen with someone else. He can have many friends, but Zen can only be his friend. His jealousy would cause him to lash out at his best friend at times, but he isn’t actually angry at him. Ulrich just never learned how to properly and calmly express his feelings. Fortunately, Zen accepts all of Ulrich’s flaws and they’re still best friends.
Ulrich has a weird hobby of pulling out his own fangs and fashioning them into necklaces and bracelets. It’s pretty hip, and hey it looks nice. Besides, he’s mostly a werewolf so they’ll grow back in. Ulrich makes Zen wear one of his “diy” necklaces and gets upset when the latter takes it off, so now he has to keep it on the whole time. Zen wouldn’t be surprised is Ulrich is making some pocket money with his unusual jewelry.
Ulrich doesn’t realize, but he too feels platonic love for his best friend. He probably can’t live without Zen.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for future posts!

one thing that bothered me is the exploration in psychic abilities.. like rai can make people forget and control their bodies so they kneel before him, regis can hypnotise (maybe, we only saw hi mdo it to Frankenstein who faked) and rael can make people stay still in time as to not notice Regis jumping out of his seat violently.
I wish more would have been done, psychic powers are so
