A Good Excuse x Peter Kavinsky
Tumblr media
Based on following ‘AU’ : ‘How the hell does your cat keep getting into my house’
 ‘Meow, meow.’
You sigh when you hear the all too familiar sound downstairs. ‘That damn cat,’ you mutter, while you get up from behind your desk and walk downstairs. And there he indeed is again, the black and white kitten from your neighbors. ‘How do you keep on doing it?’ You wonder aloud, walking towards the kitten who’s sitting on the kitchen table, with what seems a smug expression on her snout. While softly petting the cat, who’s clearly enjoying it judging by its purring noises, another uninvited guest comes in. ‘Is he here? Is Bubbles here?’ ‘Yeah yeah,’ you say back, picking up the kitten and walking towards the back door where Peter Kavinsky is standing. ‘Here he is.’ ‘Pfoeh, okay, good,’ he smiles, showing off his teeth, and slowly taking the kitten from you. ‘I’m so sorry.’ ‘I just don’t understand how the hell your cat keeps on getting into my house,’ you frown. Your parents had placed a fence, and another barbered wired fence, and any other way to possibly keep a kitten out of the house, but still, the adorable little guy found ways to sneak in. ‘I guess he just can’t keep away from you,’ Peter says, while softly muttering to the kitten. ‘Yeah, he must be taking after his dad, huh?’ Peter looks up, his cheeks getting a tad darker, and looking as if you just found out his biggest secret. He then slowly bends to his knees, setting Bubbles free again to roam around a bit. ‘He does give me a good excuse to walk in here. I never see you otherwise.’ ‘We literally go to the same school, Peter.’ ‘Yeah, I know, but it’s not the same,’ he sighs. ‘Do you ever come out of your room, [Y/N].’ ‘What? Of course I do!’ You answer, a bit too quickly. Peter doesn’t have to know how you stare at him while he’s playing catch with his little brother outside. With his shirt off. While you drool just a little bit. Or how you daydream while he’s helping out his mom in the garden – shirtless again. It’s like the guy doesn’t own a shirt. Not that it bothers you. ‘I’m sure,’ he laughs out loud. ‘How about this. I’ll take you out to eat some pizza, and don’t tell me you don’t like pizza because I saw the delivery guy just yesterday. And you get to play catch with me and my little brother.’ ‘Is that a da- wait, what do you mean?’ You turn bright red, when you realize what he just said. ‘You think I don’t notice you huh? You think nobody ever does. But guess what, I know you’d love to play since you always look so dreamy.’ He grins, now exposing your biggest secret. ‘I don’t look dreamy,’ you mutter, crossing your arms in a stubborn motion. ‘and I don’t stare, I’m just looking at the sky, okay.’ You know it’s a pathetic excuse, but everything is better than admitting that you’re basically drooling over him. You start to turn around, but he quickly grabs your shoulder. ‘Wo wo wo, hey, it’s okay, I’m just teasing you.’ He Truly looks concerned that he has hurt your feelings. ‘Hey, [Y/N], I’m sorry. Let me at least buy you a pizza. We don’t even have to leave the house if you don’t want to!’ ‘It’s the least you can do,’ you take my phone out of my pocket. ‘So, what do you want on your pizza?’
About an hour later, Peter and you are watching ‘Clueless’ and eating pizza, while Bubbles is sleeping on Peter’s lap. ‘He’s so cute,’ you smile, looking at Bubbles. ‘Hey, you’re talking about me right? Because look at this,’ Peter points at this face. ‘This is also very cute.’ You laugh along with him, taking another bite of your pizza. ‘It sure is,’ you softly agree, looking back at the movie. But you just feel his eyes on you, so you turn back to him. ‘What?’ ‘I’m just loving this right now. You, me, hanging out, watching a movie. I like it a lot. We should do this more.’ ‘We should,’ you smile back at him, not sure how to respond to this sudden confession. However he didn’t make it feel like he was confessing anything. Peter was just … Being Peter. ‘I sure do hope Bubbles keeps on sneaking in here, so I have an excuse to come by.’ ‘Oh, now I get it, you set him up to this, huh? To get me out of my room.’ ‘Damn, [Y/N], you really got me there,’ Peter says back, holding up both his hands as in a surrender. ‘But it did work, didn’t it?’ You just smiled, looking back at the movie. From the corners of your eyes, you see Peter smiling too. Maybe you should get a dog and sneak it into Peter’s house.
