I just made myself a little sad...

While watching No Way Home, specifically the scene where Stephen attempts the initial casting of the Runes of Kof Kal, my mind posed a fic worthy question ~ what if that particular spell only lasts as long as the Sorcerer who cast it is alive? In the course of his work, Stephen dies. Peter would wonder why the heck he's suddenly remembered, so he stops at the Sanctum and learns the news😔.

But furthermore, and as we know Stephen dies and comes back to life in a surprising manner of ways, what if he comes back this time too? He'd remember everything...and thus, we can have Stephen and Peter interacting, even teaming up again.

Hmmmmm, maybe not so sad after all😉.

Just watched No Way Home, and it got me to wondering...

After working that huge memory spell to make Peter be completely forgotten, did Strange have to sleep for like 3 days straight or something? 'Cuz that had to expend a tremendous amount of energy and surely he would need to seriously recharge his magical batteries.

Was just watching No Way Home, the final scene with Stephen. And he's just so powerful, and angsty (cuz he cares so much about Peter & hates to see the Kid left completely alone in the world), and achingly beautiful, and simply magnificent...and I really do love him so. damn. much. 😍😍😍

Hmmm- where was I? Oh yes...not to mention that we are finally, FINALLY, FINALLY getting some new Strangebatch in only 8 days, after we have waited what feels like a lifetime. I've already got tickets for showings next Friday and Saturday, so that my Strangebatch itch will finally begin to be satisfied!

Plus all the red carpets and promos and interviews

that Benedict has been doing for the films he worked on while we languished in covid lockdowns, longing for just a little taste of Our Beloved. We seem to have struck it rich, eh?

Indeed, it is time to rejoice and who could lead us better than the Man himself - with my favorite bit of Dancingbatch from May of 2015...

Stephen is sooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful AND handsome and

thankfully the bad wig is only in that first scene and

his Voice completely did me in and

We should all be thanking our lucky stars that he's played by Benedict because *sighs hard* he delivers that amazing, so often heart...not rending or breaking...but oi, right in your feels with his amazing ability to give us layers of different emotions in a single phrase, sentence, or even with the look on his face. I'm praying Marvel hasn't gotten so wrapped up in cramming in as many new characters and arcs into Multiverse of Madness that we get much more of this, and

Given the DS II trailer that followed the end of No Way Home, it appears that WE WILL.

Can I just say how blessed we are to have an actor like Benedict playing Dr Strange? Even in a movie like NWH where his presence is limited he manages to deliver a stunning performance. The look on his face when he casts that last spell...you could see just how heartbroken he was about it. He brings such an effortless depth to Stephen's character that blows me away everytime.

You, my friend, have put this wonderful observation beautifully--thank you for sharing! Benedict's entire performance was filled with that 'effortless depth', and those final moments you describe, have lingered in my mind in the hours since I saw No Way Home this afternoon. He is an absolute master of making us see and feel the complicated layers of emotion and conflict and angst which his characters experience. Making me all the more eager for what we'll see in Multiverse of Madness!

In celebration of National Theater Day, 3,000 movie theaters across the US are offering tickets for $3 for any showing on Sat., 9-3.

Which fortunately coincides with the re-release of Spiderman: No Way Home with additional footage-

I'm going just to see my beloved Stephen on the big screen again (especially because who knows when his next movie appearance will be), and I've been told there is at least one deleted scene that he's in.

I just can’t get the notion of Stephen not remembering Peter Parker in the wake of the spell he had to cast to stop the multiverse incursions. Because given the 14+ million timelines he experienced, he’s got way more history with Peter than anyone in creation. Do they really want us to believe that all those memories have been completely erased?

I can’t accept it; I just can’t. Not from the look on his face in that final shot as he bid Peter goodbye. Not knowing the depth of his heart and the place that Peter had found in it. Stephen’s affection for Peter began well before the events of No Way Home, and if we didn’t know that already, their conversation by the fireplace should be enough to show so.

So I guess I’m gonna have to head canon the heck out of this and insist that somewhere inside that magnificent brain, or in the heart that was brave enough to die a thousand times to save humanity, let alone make the gut-wrenching, ever solitary journey through 1,500 years or more in search of the solution to Thanos--a wisp of memory remains. And at some point Stephen will find he remembers at least the best of The Kid. Because both he and Peter deserve it.

Gotta say, the excitement online--and among my coworkers who are Marvel stans--over the opening of Spider-Man: No Way Home, honestly feels like the way it was in the final weeks leading up to Infinity War. I returned to seeing movies in theatres on Christmas Day 2020, and haven't stopped since--though most people I know have been afraid to, no matter how safe I've been telling them it is (all the theatres I've attended have strict cleaning and social distancing protocols). Watching BC's enthusiasm as the opening approaches, makes me feel kinda like we're all caterpillars that have been in our chrysalis for overlong, and with No Way Home we're finally gonna burst out and let our glorious colors show.

I have waaaaaaaaay too many Drafts right now. And at least a third of them are artwork of NoWayHomeStrange in his puffy parka with Cloakie over it. I wonder if that image is our collective takeaway from the 'Spiderman' trailer because we all so desperately want Stephen to be warm and comfy and have a chance to catch his breath. You know, recouperate a bit from that journey of 14 million timelines.
