Me: Well, it sure was nice to see Jack Harkness return to Doctor Who in last week's episode--
[stagehand comes and whispers in my ear]
Me: Wait... That wasn't Jack? But he was American... And had blue eyes and A Chin... And he flirted and argued ideology with the Doctor and made cracks about putting up some shelves with the sonic screwdriver... And he had lost someone precious while having space adventures... And he slow-danced with a principal character... And he kissed the Doctor right before sacrificing himself... And he wore blue... Oh, and Suzie Costello was even there! And died (again)!
[stagehand whispers]
Me: Well, look, what do you expect when they recast Torchwood actors as DW guest stars. Anyway, that really wasn't Jack? I mean, I know it wasn't John Barrowman, since he's not really welcome around there anymore, but...
[stagehand whispers]
Me: Really? Jonathan Groff? Huh. You know, I saw him on Broadway, in Hamilton. Funny thing, speaking of Jack, I just happened to be at the same performance that John Barrowman and Scott Gill attended, and I saw them in the theatre. I remember thinking the role of King George, played by Groff, would have been a good one for Barrowman if he'd still been... doing Broadway... Wait.
[stagehand sighs]
Me: AHA! Rogue was also played by a Broadway veteran? That can't be a coincidence! I knew it was Jack all along!
[stagehand gives up and leaves]
#No it's really not Jack I was just amused by rtd doing a copy pasta#Though an argument could be made that he's the mavity-verse jack#I'm a bit concerned about the possibility of 'the man who waits' though#Torchwood#doctor who#Dw spoilers#doctor who spoilers#The Hamilton thing is true BTW!#I was good and did not bother them but it was a nice bonus to the show
