Pluto in Aquarius

Let's talk about Pluto in Aquarius, and what we can expect.

Since Aquarius is an air sign, we will see more information to hold us and others accountable, especially people who has power to help or change the world.

This air sign presents valid and real information. A lot of mysterious or secrets are coming, but usually these are an open secret.

Aquarius represents rebellious acts to society and want to change for humanity. In Pluto, this air sign comes and say "hey, what are you doing for others?!" This will be predominant to known people like celebrities and politicians. The reason for this is Aquarius' logic. If I give you, I should receive soemthing, right?

Common folks could make a change, but the rich is overlapping our small steps. We aware now, though.

Many "secrets" are going to be reveled to the public. Secrets that are open. For example, many conspiracy theories are been revealed as actual truth.

This time would be more logical. By logic, I'm meaning be reasonable. Don't trust words, see actions. So, if 2+2 = 4, the result is clear.

Celebs culture would be dying. Slowly, be are seeing them as what they are, some evil and greedy people, or just ordinary people with bad tendencies.

Your favorites will show their true values. So be careful who you idolize. Aqua is more humanitarian. We can detect people with narcissistic and evil aspects.

Government and all the previous power institutions are gonna be renew. Some will fall and other rise.

The citizens are tired of lies and suffering. Many protests are coming. Rebellious acts too, not all is good.

Ai and technology advances are coming. Protect your information and use it wisely. Possible laws against the use of Ai and internet services will come, but it takes times.

Saturn in Aries will play a role in a more fire approach too. Many aggressive approach on online communities will be present. People would be more bold than before.

A more raw and honest approach is appreciated by the public. However, some people will think is safe to push hidden agendas (not good at all).

People will behave more aggressive, especially online communities. Online comments are become aggressive more than normally.

A new creation or invention would occur. Something for all of us; I mean, it involves our wellbeing.

Sexuality topics will be present. More acceptability but also scary things will come.

People would try to explore their fashion style and sense of self more. Creating a more individual approach than collective.

Old institutions and religions cult will fall. People will question their foundations.

Weird things make occur, like there is a eccentric part to Aquarius. New things coming that are not ordinary at all.

Gen Alpha trends will increase. Very interesting trends will come.

Renewing and a more open concious will arise, collectively.

Spirtual people are not perceived as weirdos anymore. Still, not everyone is being truthful.

More restrictions will come because powerful people will get mad that they cannot control the masses as before.

Individual take and better understanding of some communities. I respect you period...

Digital job offers are increasing, but being more socially in real life will be a challenge.

People would try to help others through technology, but it will be blocked by media.

Friendly people (truly) would be so appreciated. "Nice privileged" might be a new thing.

At the beginning, people will be more selfish; later on, the goal is working together. Since the "i need boundaries" will be misunderstood by many.

The big countries will be experience some issues. A new chapter will come, a new potency.

More investigations and questions about power will arise.

Something new for good or bad through science.

Alien contact...maybe through technology.

Spirtual attacks and stuff related are truth. Protect your heart and mind.

Restructuring political institutions and movement. People want changes!!

A new law to protect children and innocents against predators will come.

Society will questioned money 💰 and its structure?! A possible new economic system.

And more...these were some ideas / examples I got.

What we know, recently?!

For example, the expose of private jets carbon emissions. It was a privilege in the past to won a Jet. Now, we cuestioned why rich people use it constantly?! The planet's condition is so bad, and look the Superbowl. Many celebrities and rich people travel there in their private jet, more especially 525 private jets were there for a GAME?! Crazy. Meanwhile some of us a collective take the bus to work or study or share a taxi. Funny, we need to use less plastic to protect our planet. Then, they use their private jets for fun times.

This type of information is known since Aquarius is ruled by knowledge and humanitarian actions. Nowadays, we has access to this info, and we know by now that rich people is selfish.

It's not shocking so far. We as a collective are called to acknowledge and questions those with resources and power. However, the way we act is different. Remeber, Aqua is a unique sign.

Another example: Just look at the scandals during January 2024, the Epstein list news, Nicky Minaj and Megan thee Stallion beef. In both cases, people are like damn they have money and use it for what? Evil creatures.

Example: For Nicky and Megan's case, people are asking Nicky why she defend her husband and brother for being the sexual offender?! Is she crazy? Again the info isn't hidden. Minaj is married, and it isn't a secret. Actually, we already know about this. You can seach on internet, but the collective didn't accep it. When Pluto was still in Capricorn surviving is necessary. Even with the war, we know is happening, but we need to still need to pay our apartment, buy groceries, or study. Unfortunately, we, common folks, citizens aren't not the answer. Pluto comes questions us?

We make them famous, are these people returning the favor to society? Why rich people doesn't can't help if they have the resources? They can do something, but they don't do it. WHY? BECAUSE they don't care, they're are selfish. This is why people are posting their sides. Expect more and more people sharing opinions and technology advances too.

The gang is finished, everyone has complete bases. So! Detailed descriptions of my changes below 👇 Alan is not included because he already has a description in the post I introduced him and the most recent post about Alan.

Charlie- I decided to go more the "goat" route with her design. She is nearly as tall as Angel Dust, she just seems shorter than she should because of her pose. She has small feathered wings, to represent her angel heritage, however they are small because they are underdeveloped. She is unable to fly as she cannot move them to the extent needed for flight capability, she can barely move them at all, nor can she tuck or fold them. I gave her more definite horns with a floating apple motif at the top, think of it like jewelry. She often goes by Charlotte although her friends and loved ones call her Charlie.

Vox- Vox is the Hotel Benefactor in this AU and supports Charlie in her ventures. He acts more like a solid father figure than Alastor and is more of an open person. When he was alive, he was a TV host. A charming personality and a kind man at heart. In '55 he was briefly drafted into the Vietnam War until he was too injured to continue and was sent home. He regretted many of the decisions he had to make there, feeling like a monster as he was only 25 at the time. When he returned home he recovered some and resumed his work, this time opting to produce affordable technology for those who could not afford it. Unfortunately this would be his demise. One poorly timed installation of a television set during a thunderstorm led to him being struck by lightning. He still distributes tech after his death through his company Voxtech Industries. I made him a little bulkier than the original and gave him a more 50's look, complete with a 50's TV. He is also still an Overlord.

Niffty- I decided to make her more bug like. I took inspiration from a tortoise beetle and a stag beetle.I didn't change too much with her personality wise, she is still a manic, but she puts more effort into caring for those who can't care for themselves... in her own weird and twisted ways. She runs a company know as NCRIM or Niffty's Cleaning and Revitalizing Interpersonal Maintenance, and she is an Overlord.

Husk- I didn't change too much, his concept is pretty solid to me as a surface level concept. I only tweaked slight things to tend to my au better. In this au he is still an Overlord and still runs his casino.

Angel Dust- I changed Angel quite a bit design wise, but not so much personality. Angel still works for Valentino, still a porn star, and will still love Husk. For the design, I made Angel still very tall and slim, but I gave him more of a solid chest. I like the idea of him having the fluffy chest, but I feel like the "fluff" doesn't move as it should in the show, it is just fluff after all, so it shouldn't be as solid as it seems to be. I also gave Angel some mandibles and the "spider butt". I also changed Angel's hair because it looks right for the show but it looks off for me personally. I also gave him the "small spider feet" I don't really know how to call it, but I gave him thin feet. I also moved his arms up to the shoulder with the other pair, because anatomy I guess, it just made more sense to me.

Sir Pentious- I didn't really change pentious, he's still pretty much the same except for the eye placements on his inner hood and tail. His personality isn't really different either.

Vaggie- I changed quite a bit for Vaggie. I decided to lean into the moth theme more and bring that put in her design. I gave her moth wings and antenna and more anthropomorphic legs. I like to think that the moth look came after her fall, as the time she's spent in hell has changed her like metamorphosis. So the longer she stays in hell the more it influences her, the more she becomes a part of hell. She is heaven born in this au so she would assimilate into being a hell born. I also changed the design of her Spear for no apparent reason other than why not.

Cherry Bomb- She is pretty different than in the show. I haven't changed her personality but her physical appearance is different. I've decided to make her bombs more of a physical part of herself. She has what I depict as horns that "grow" her bombs as a biological process. Like how one kind of insect I can't remember the name of does. I also made her feet into heels, like permanent pumps.

Lucifer- I lent into the goat for the legs to relate him to Charlie more as well as the horns with the apple motif. For his wings, I heard somewhere [don't quote me on this I've never read the bible] I think it was from LovesArt123, that when Lucifer fell his wings burnt and became more like bat wings in structure. I sort of did the same thing for his tail as well. I gave him more of a proper halo, I honestly wasn't planning that but I rolled with it, and I gave him more than one pair of eyes. He's the king of hell, shouldn't he have more eyes to view others with? The pose I used had the person carrying a lantern and I thought it would be funny if he just lanterns to head to the fridge for depression food at night. So he uses lanterns to navigate at night, not that he can't see in the dark because he can, it's others not realizing he's there that he uses the lantern.

Golden Cheese Headcanons

Here are some of my thoughts about the most anticipated ancient (for me at least) to celebrate her upcoming release! I started writing this a bit before any leaks came out so don't expect much about them or her new trailer.

What We Know

From the bits that she's shown in the game plus some complementary materials like the art book and the kingdom jelly set in ovenbreak, Golden Cheese Cookie is shown to be just a little bit egotistical 🤏 They have an absurd number statues of herself everywhere, has holidays based off of her practically everyday, and exaggerates their achievements She is also a very organized and meticulous cookie and likes to dictate even the smallest details. She gets pretty upset when things don't go her way or when her work is messed with. She shows this through her interest in fashion (like her controlling the cheesebirds’ looks) and her maintenance of her own appearance I have to assume that her fashion style is just being covered head to toe in gold since the wiki says that she’s so bright that it’s actually hard to even look up at her Of course Golden Cheese Cookie also has an interest in gold in general. And when I say interest I mean she has the “cover your entire kingdom and yourself with it” type of interest She's also not the most honest cookie. She lies about her origins like claiming she came from a golden dragon egg when in reality she just kinda gilded an egg they found. In odyssey, Hollyberry shares that Golden Cheese is secretive and has poor time management like always being late for things Kingdom-wise, it seems like most of her subjects are birds with a few cookies which she freed from Cheedas the Mole (maybe the cookies came after Cheedas defeat?) There is conflicting info on whether or not the birds actually like her or just tolerate her. It’s said that they were eternally grateful for her saving them from Cheedas and so gave her the title of queen but it is also said that she gave herself the title of queen and the birds just let her because she is a source of wealth It's also shown that her castle is a labyrinth and is full of what looks like traps and puzzles Finally, it seems like her nation is extremely technologically advanced and it kinda reminds me of Cyber City from Deltarune.

Their Epic Origin Story

I would like to give some context on how I think the ancients met and got their soul jams because I got this idea in my head that I have no clue where I got it from and I cannot find any info that confirms it. I probably made it up, but just roll with it, ‘kay? The ancients all met on the hero’s path (or something with a really similar name, I think it’s an actual place you visit in game) and worked together to get the soul jams which were at the end of these trials. Which makes sense since these are rocks that give you magical god powers, they can’t just leave this crap out in the open. Afterwards they continued adventuring together for a bit to get used to said magical god powers.

Each of the ancients had their own reason to search for the soul jams (reasons that I just made up and that are based off the stories from the Might of the Ancients) Hollyberry wanted the soul jam to help her best the dragon she’s after as well as unify all of the Berry estates Dark Cacao wanted the soul jam to aid him in confronting the Black and White Dragons and to suppress the spread of an "anomaly” which I’m pretty sure is the licorice oozlings Pure Vanilla wanted the soul jam to help nurse and care for his fellow pilgrims(? I’m not really sure about this one) White Lily wanted to study their power and see if it could be used to make cookies stronger Finally, Golden Cheese wanted them because others wanted them. They heard that there was some legendary treasure at the end that they planned to get before anyone else. She didn’t even know that the soul jams were magical. Golden Cheese was the last to join the group and she didn’t join them immediately since she was distrustful and saw the others as competition. “I was here first so I should get the treasure >:[” She was, in fact, the last to arrive Golden Cheese was super childish back then so they taunted the others whenever the group encountered challenges that Cheese could just fly over and occasionally stole their food. Young Dark Cacao hated their ass and Hollyberry, while still somewhat irritated by their petty acts, kinda found their presence funny. Pure Vanilla didn’t really know what to think of them and White Lily always tried to convince them to join their group using facts and logic 🤓. “Logically, it would be very beneficial for both parties if you agreed to join us since together we could-” “my name isn’t logically >:/” Of course, White Lily eventually succeeded and Golden Cheese joined the party. Maybe Golden Cheese needed their help and realized having people around isn’t so bad or Cheese could’ve started helping them because they had actually grown fond of the others. But of course under a facade of them taking pity on the group or something due to her ego. Things would still be turbulent with them and the group, however, because things can never be that easy >;}. Her ass was not helpful 90% of the time. She had to be bribed or forced into doing stuff in the beginning. White Lily and Hollyberry picked up on how to convince Golden pretty quickly so it wasn’t an issue for too long but during that period of time Golden would just shove all their work onto Vanilla (he just seems like the easiest to manipulate to me). Afterwards, everyone warmed up to them minus Dark Cacao because Cacao can hold one hell of a grudge.

Surprise Dark Cacao HC: He can be petty AF and his toxic trait is that he will bring up mistakes made years ago in arguments.

Cheese would originally just ignore him and maybe even continue to mess with him, but the others would try to get those 2 to be friends or at the very least not at each other’s throats. They both refused, immediately too. Cacao didn’t even let Lily finish her sentence before he said no and then subsequently fucked off. Cheese, on the other hand, was not paying attention and just automatically said no. But Golden Cheese eventually agreed because White Lily bribed her. So Cheese begrudgingly went up to Cacao and apologized, in a very rebellious teen esque way and is clearly not sorry. So then… Dark Cacao doesn’t accept her apology and tells her to fuck off 🫢 but really what were we expecting? Golden Cheese was a little bit pissed that Cacao didn’t accept her apology but she didn’t really care outside of that, she still got paid after all After this epic fail the group just kinda shrugs their shoulders and agree to keep the 2 as far apart as possible. Over time Golden would become less selfish and more willing to help the group, without being bribed to do so! We love character development <3. She would actually become more proactive and really start to care for these weirdos. She would also start to care about how they think of her, especially how Dark Cacao thought of her because he still hated her ✨ So Golden Cheese would try to apologize to him again, on her own volition and sincerely this time …And he tells her to fuck off again 😶 Cheese tries again and again to get his forgiveness and show that she had changed but he got the soul jam of resolution for a reason so he denied them at every step. She couldn’t even actually talk to him because would do a 180 every time he saw her. I guess you can say he gave her… the cold shoulder? Ba-dum-tis (you see, the joke here is that he comes from a naturally cold environment and so his distant demeanor towards cheese is reminiscent of his homeland. The ‘cold’ of his cold shoulder is a reference to its harsh weather. You see-) I deeply apologize for my terrible joke, it will happen again. (I have been consuming too much Cyno content) Literally everyone was like “wow cacao, maybe you should give her a chance” and he’ll be like “no <3” This would ultimately blow up into an argument and because Dark Cacao isn’t known for being tactful with his words (mf is harsher than the cold of his kingdom on godddd) he would end up deeply hurting Golden Cheese. He made it very clear he didn’t trust her ☠️, didn’t forgive her ☠️, and didn’t expect much from her ☠️☠️☠️. After this she threw her hands and went “fuck this I’m out” cause who wants to be around that type of energy? White lily, however, will have none of this and would convince Golden to stay saying that she’ll deal with Dark Cacao. With some persuasion (read: time out in the corner) + some help (read: manhandling) from HollyBerry, White Lily got Cacao to agree to have a proper talk with Cheese. It’ll start awkward and slow but eventually Cacao would ask for the reasons behind Golden’s original antagonistic and trickster behavior and she would then allow herself to be vulnerable with him (aka backstory time).

For her past she could’ve gone through a betrayal akin to what Black Pearl cookie went though. Golden Cheese could’ve from a poor background or straight up just didn’t have a n y t h i n g. No family, no friends, no home, nothing. Just them, the birds, hostile moles, and colorful and shiny rocks that they didn’t know the value of. When Golden Cheese first came into existence, like most babies, they had no idea of the concept of wealth so the gold and jewels that surrounded them in their desert were just neat rocks The first time she actually met with other cookies, they talked her into giving them the treasure and in return they’ll be her friends. Of course she agreed and she searched high and low for the biggest and prettiest gemstones she could find. This would go on for a bit until one day they decide to follow them to a nearby town Where they overheard them showing off her gifts and bragging Bragging about how they got some dumb bird kid to give them so much treasure and how they’re going to get rich off of them Safe to say Golden Cheese changed after that Through that incident they learnt that money was the most important thing to cookies And through money you can get anything you want! Food, clothes, toys,… friends But they didn’t want friends anymore, they wanted riches Gold can’t lie to you, but friends can Jewels can’t use you, but friends can And treasure can do some many things cookies couldn’t Cookies don’t shine or sparkle (outside of her of course) so what the point in talking to them! DNI if you don’t shine and/or sparkle So she hoards wealth because it's the only thing she can trust and really the only thing she has. Her distrust towards others deepened because other cookies tried to trick her and when that failed even outright stole from her. And since she was still a kid at the time they took pretty much everything, forcing her to run away from the sands she called her home. This caused her to become a thief herself so she could get her belongings back as well as some extra for revenge. After that she just continued to steal because in her mind it’s a steal or get stolen from the world out there. And I think Dark Cacao would be able to relate to their loneliness and reluctance to associate with others, hell, Dark Cacao probably refused to work with the other ancients at first too Cacao would then explain that he held onto his grudge for so long because Golden Cheese reminded him of the thieves of his homeland who terrorized towns and who he viewed as selfish and dishonorable scum. But now he can tell that she isn’t like those villains and has proven that she has changed. Thanks to this conversation Dark Cacao becomes a little more empathetic to Golden Cheese’s actions, however annoying they may be With this newfound understanding of each other, the 2 reconciled and Golden Cheese was finally fully accepted as part of the group and into a found family …Which eventually fell apart because someone decided to turn into a terrorist 🙄

Their Possible Update

For this section I won’t be including much from the teaser trailer because I don’t really know how to work with it. So this is just going to be what I hope to see in the update

So both Black Raisin Cookie and Adventurer Cookie made an appearance in the teaser which makes sense, Gingerbrave and friendstm probably was sent to look for Golden for the next Council of Heroes meeting by Vanilla who also sent Raisin with them since she knows how to deal with harsh environments. Adventurer being there also makes sense because it’s the mfing Golden Cheese Kingdom, assumedly filled to the brim with treasure of course he was gonna be there. The real question is where the hell is Chili Pepper? The Cookie I really wanted to see there though was actually Dark Choco! I know he’s in some forest near Dark Cacao Kingdom but just let me have this dammit. Imagine this: Gingerbrave and friendstm are on their way to Golden Cheese Kingdom when they hear some arguing. After following the noise they come across a camp with Milk, Purple Yam, and Dark Choco! Purple Yam is shouting about how they’re lost while Dark Choco’s looking at a map and trying to decide where to go. The two groups start talking and Dark Choco explains how Milk Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie happened to find him. Of course, after realizing that Dark Choco was right in front of him Yam immediately challenged Dark Choco to a rematch and in turn Milk tried to stop him. The pair squabbled for a bit until Dark Choco just gave into Yam’s request so he could get back to his peaceful wandering. Since Dark Choco 1: probably hasn’t been training all the much during his travels and 2: most likely relied on the Strawberry Jam Sword for most of his fights as well as to compensate for his poor eyesight and is now considerably weaker without it, he probably lost the fight. He would then try to leave, completely ignoring Purple Yam’s cheers but then paused in his tracks when Purple Yam brought up their previous fight. Confused, Dark Choco would then explain how he doesn’t remember fighting Purple Yam or saving Milk. This, of course, would piss off Yam (because what doesn’t) and he’d try to think of ways to get Dark Choco to remember and Milk would suggest the idea of bringing Dark Choco into their group. Both immediately said no but Milk easily managed to convince purple Yam by saying that if Dark Choco were to join, Yam could always have a strong sparring partner to fight! Dark Choco, on the other hand, was not as easy. It really just boiled down to Milk giving him his biggest puppy eyes and explaining how Dark Choco was his hero. Dark Choco weighed his options, on one hand he doesn’t really want to be constantly asked to fight but on the other these two dunderheads could be his opportunity for redemption. After a moment, he agreed and now he’s stuck with these two for life. When asked what they’re doing here Dark Choco explains that they’re heading for Golden Cheese Kingdom as well! He knows that Dark Enchantress is going to target the kingdom eventually so he wanted to stop her before she got any stronger. The two groups combine and head to Golden Cheese Kingdom together. As seen in the teaser, Golden Cheese isn’t going to be the most welcoming and I feel like she wouldn’t believe Gingerbrave and friendstm when they explain the situation. Fortunately for her, the situation will prove itself when the Cookies of Darkness show up and start wrecking her shit (betting all my diamonds that this is what is going to happen in the update) After all the inevitable shenanigans, I wanna see Golden Cheese and Dark Choco have a heart to heart. I wanna see Dark Choco share his past with her and explain his journey to redeem himself and I wanna see Golden Cheese comfort her nephew god dammit! Dark Choco deserves a hug and Golden Cheese could give him that! After this interaction Golden will make it her duty to get him and his father to reconcile and what better place to do so than at the Council of Heroes. I wanna see Golden Cheese roll up with Dark Choco, I’d think it’ll be neat.

Leftover Thoughts

This part is just random thoughts I have about Cheese (and some of the other ancients) that didn’t really fit in any previous sections

I think Golden is the youngest out of all the ancients with the order from oldest to youngest being Holly, Lily/Vanilla, Cacao, and then Cheese. As the youngest in the group Cacao and Cheese are legally obligated to be at each other’s throats at all times, especially when they were still all adventuring together. She just brings out his immature side. Golden Cheese would do all sorts of stupid shit to antagonize him like the ‘holding their finger right next to your face but not actually touching’ thing and just repeating his name over and over. Dark Cacao could not just ignore her and took all the nonsense they said at face value. When Cacao retaliates he’s always scolded by the other 3 because Cheese has baby privileges. Since he can’t do anything himself he calls for one of the others, especially hollyberry, for help. This poor woman is so tired dealing with these two. They get into these little scraps at least once a day and one of them will always run up to her to tattle on the other She loves those 2 to death but god damn are they annoying. It had gotten to a point where the second Holly heard those two messing with each other she would hide. They always ended up finding her lmao (if you couldn’t tell, i’m pulling from experience here, lil siblings suck :] Despite her wariness of other people, Golden Cheese is a very curious person and used to be easily distractible She often wandered off on her own and unknowingly into all sorts of danger. More often than not, the other ancients would have to save her from some monster and in the end she’s the only one unscathed. So Holly would use this trait to play small pranks on Cheese. One time she made a trail of coins and pointed out to Cheese who happily picked up each one. Little did Golden Cheese know, her bag had a hole in it so she made her own train of coins. This resulted in Golden Cheese following their own trail of coins for a hot minute while Holly did her best not to laugh. Nowadays that would work so Holly just lightly pokes fun at her. One of the many things Hollyberry would tease Golden about was all the embarrassing things they did in the past Mentions of practically anything Golden did when they were younger is the equivalent of a critical hit to her ego

Surprise Hollyberry headcanon: She makes sure to remember all the embarrassing shit her friends do, she even has a journal filled with them. None of the cookies around her can sleep at night because they can’t be comforted by the fact that no one remembers that they called their teacher mom in front of everybody because Hollyberry remembers and will bring it up eventually. She doesn’t (purely) do this to tease her friends, but to record all the special moments she shares with them. And with some true queen behavior, she writes down all of her embarrassing moments too <3

One of the things Holly would bring up would be how when Golden was a wee baby bird she would always try to get out of paying for things They would do things like purposely leaving their money at home so someone else had to pay for food. (this often ended up with them having to wash dishes or just not being allowed to order because the other ancients saw through her plan immediately. Her ass was not slick) Golden Cheese had a also bad habit of… “taking things off other cookies’ hands“ and had chronic magpie syndrome in their younger years She justified it back then because they thought that they could get better use out of whatever she was stealing from someone But now as a fully fledged bird with a fully fledged wallet, she makes it a point to pay for everything. They love flaunting their riches (it helps them forget her cringefail era) and their favorite way is good ol’ retail therapy. Golden Cheese used to go through the markets of her friends' Kingdoms and buy whatever caught her eye, aka the shiny stuff. She also looks for things that her friends would enjoy like new goblets and cups for Hollyberry, interesting weapons for Dark Cacao, soft quilts and yarn for Pure Vanilla, and interesting and rare ingredients for White Lily to use Another coping mechanism of hers is just looking at stuff. Stuff of the particularly shiny variety (Which includes herself of course) Admiring their possessions, themselves, or themselves through their possessions like their reflection in a comically sized coin The mirror is practically a baby sensory video to her and she will be locked in a trance for an indefinite amount of time.

They also spend hours every day just maintaining their appearance and their possessions Golden has her own way of organizing her riches and she categorizes them all frequently. The “ Cheese Index” as dubbed by Hollyberry They take into account the standard stuff like value, size, and luster but there is one standard that is unique to Golden Cheese, taste This was just dumb elaborate way for me to say that it’ll be really silly goofy if Golden Cheese could taste the quality of precious metals and minerals. The higher quality a gem is, the better it tastes to her but all riches taste pretty good. (During their adventuring days, the other ancients had to set aside some coins just for her to snack on so she wouldn’t accidentally eat all of their funds.) When she’s not doing either of the things above, she is just lazing around, probably on top of a pile of coins which they actually find comfortable If left to her own devices, Golden Cheese could honestly spend days, if not weeks like this because they are just not very time conscious. It is also the reason why they’re usually late to things the other ancients have to tell Golden Cheese to arrive at an earlier time so they’re not absurdly late anymore, like days late When they do arrive, whether they’re late or super late, they are always the shiniest in the room In her younger years and when she was first getting into fashion, she equated beauty with how bright something was which meant that all of her first outfits were ungodly bright and hard to look at. hollyberry still teases them about how they practically blinded everyone and even sent “paintings” of their first outfits

Fortunately for everyone’s eyes, she’s developed a less gaudy style She also had even made clothes for the other ancients because there ain’t no way they’re just gonna leave them looking like that 🫣 They don’t only care about their appearance, but also the appearance of those around them and will make sure their friends are looking their best Dark Cacao was the one she would dress up the most Every time they saw him they would pick apart and analyze every aspect of his outfit like a doctor studying a patient. She’ll be like “oh no… oh dear. it's just what I feared,.. Despite the fact that your kingdom has an ocean right next to it, it seems like you completely lack any drip whatsoever. I fear it might be terminal 😔.” She purposefully made Dark Cacao’s outfit super gaudy and revealing to mess with him. He refuses to wear it so now it sits in a closet somewhere for Dark Choco to find and have gain a whole lotta questions about what his father was up to in his younger years. When with Pure Vanilla, Golden Cheese would rant about her say. She shared their worries and strife with him and Vanilla would attentively listen to it all while occasionally giving out some advice. I just imagine the pair in Golden’s personal spa (don’t tell me she wouldn’t have one) and Golden venting about her day or them gossiping about whatever was happening in her friends’ kingdoms. Pure Vanilla would be a source of comfort and reassurance to Golden while Dark Cacao (and sometimes Hollyberry) would be a grounding force for her.

Surprise Pure Vanilla Headcanon: Pure Vanilla is a great listener. He usually doesn't add much to conversation unless prompted to and has just a very calming vibe to him. It makes people feel comfortable enough to share whatever's on their mind with him.

Golden Cheese also spends a lot of time tinkering and engineering, how else could her kingdom look like it was taken right out of a sci-fi movie if it wasn’t her doing? This is the main way they and White Lily bonded and spent one on one time together. Just working on their own projects and enjoying each others’ presence (we love women in STEM <3) Another thing they bonded over were puzzles. Golden would create puzzles just for Lily and in kind, she would bring puzzles from other nations for Cheese. Golden loved to see the other 3 struggle with puzzles as well though Cacao refused to touch one after the first time he failed. I think that White Lily would be the only ancient to know where Golden Cheese’s kingdom is, she probably just happened upon it while looking for some resources in the desert The reason why Golden is so secretive about her kingdom is because they doesn’t really view it as a kingdom They did at the beginning but over time she began to grow self conscious about it. Her kingdom is missing one crucial aspect that all their friends’ kingdoms have: Cookies to rule over I believe that the cookies arrived after the Dark Flour war with no basis whatsoever :3 It just fits with the headcanons. (also because I made this part before the teaser dropped) They love the Cheese birds but they do get a little awkward when they hear about the other ancients dealing their kingdoms’ politics (none of which she understands btw) while she just lays around with her fellow birds all day Whenever one of the others asks about her Kingdom she always says that things are going great while also being incredibly vague and leaves out any specific details.

This did lead to Cacao questioning whether or not Cheese actually had a kingdom not helped by the fact that Golden Cheese announced that she had a kingdom after seeing her friends’, but Lily would confirm that her Kingdom existed Whenever Lily came to the Cheese Kingdom she held little check ups on the cheese birds and even help Golden train them Thanks to Lily, Golden Cheese was able to train 4 of her birds to be messengers/carriers for each of the other ancients. Hollyberry’s bird is chatty and mimics words and sounds all the time. It's also the most active out of the birds and very easily led by food. Its feathers are a pretty rose gold color. PV’s crow is a bit grumpy, an angry bird if you will, as well as pretty old. It spends most of its time sleeping and is paler than the average Cheesebird. White lily’s bird is good at foraging and likes to organize things. It’s the smartest out of all the birds due to both Lily and Golden building little puzzles/toys for it. It is also almost completely white with a bit of an opalescent shine. Dark Cacao’s crow likes to collect shiny things and it preens itself pretty often. It also tries to preen cacao and spends most of its time snuggled on his shoulder. It gives everything it collects to him and is a brownish platinum color. The birds were the best way for all of the ancients to message each other seeing how birds are way faster than couriers and how the birds actually knew where Golden Cheese Kingdom is. Before they relied on Lily to send their messages to Cheese since she was the only one to know where she is but the problem with that is that Lily was always on the move.

Surprise White Lily Headcanon: White Lily used to travel a lot for her research. One moment she would be in PV’s kingdom the next she would be in HB Kingdom’s jungles or in Dragon’s Valley.

Unfortunately, all the birds returned to the Golden Cheese Kingdom after the Vanilla’s kingdom was destroyed which was the main reason why all the other Ancients didn’t talk much after the war.

Now this next bit was also written before the trailer dropped but I’ll share it anyway as a lil bonus:

After the war Golden Cheese was inconsolable after Vanilla sacrificed himself and locked themself away in their castle. The messenger birds tried to bring her out but she couldn’t bring herself to face what happened. She lost track of how many days she spent wallowing in her despair but it was long enough for White Lily to become Dark Enchantress. Since Lily, and therefore Enchantress, was the only one who knew where the Golden Cheese Kingdom was, it was the first place Enchantress went. In the state Cheese was in it wasn’t hard for Enchantress to trick them into believing she was Lily and came to check up on them. Enchantress planned on taking Golden’s Soul Jam and sealing her away but unfortunately she underestimated the strength of the kingdom's citizens. She didn’t have enough power or time to steal the Soul Jam and seal Golden away so she decided to seal Golden with her Soul Jam. This way Golden wouldn’t be able to warn the others of Enchantress’ return, and besides, she could always come back later. Golden Cheese was sealed away in a golden statue that looks exactly like the ones littered throughout her kingdom, unaware of what White Lily had turned into. …Until Gingerbrave and friendstm showed up.

Miles

Story-wise, my friend found it interesting that Miles was the perfect host for the Walrider. Wernicke and Alan Turing were friends/lovers who worked on the technology that culminated into Project Walrider, so there's already a sense that the Walrider was founded on Wernicke and Turing's love for each other.

So, before I move on, I'll talk a bit about Alan Turing. In college, I had professors praise him for being the “Founder of Modern Computing”, cracking Nazi code, and also for being an advocate for gay rights.

Out of every prominent scientist during the Cold War Era, Alan Turing was selected to play a role in Outlast's stories. And he didn't just happen to be openly gay—JT Petty purposefully made this significant to Wernicke's character. Not to mention, Wernicke made allusions to Frankenstein, allowing us to inspect the parallels between Wernicke & the Walrider with Frankenstein & Frankenstein's monster. When it comes to gothic & queer literature, Frankenstein is on the forefront of it, and I'm confident that JT Petty would be familiar with that (since he's a writer who's well-versed in horror/gothic art).

With Frankenstein, there's this idea to create life without heterosexual means (under the impression of cis-heteronormativity). Frankenstein's monster was also a sexualized creature—supposedly a representation of the “ideal man”—described as “beautiful”. Additionally, the novel was a critique of patriarchal norms through elements of sexualities. These aren't too different from Wernicke & the Walrider. The Walrider is arguably created through homosexual means in its abstract (Wernicke & Turing). This particular version of the Walrider that possesses Billy & Miles is stated to be the “masterpiece” by Simon Peacock—its appearance is also fairly sexual. And similarly, Outlast critiques patriarchal norms through its grotesque visuals of “masculinity”.

With all these story elements, there's certainly a queerness about the Walrider AND Outlast, which the devs openly embrace.

There's also many parallels between Frankenstein's monster and Miles. In the United States (and westernized countries in general), there are societal standards that function around cis-heteronormativity. Think of the traditional American nuclear family: A husband/father who's the breadwinner and patriarch, a loving wife/mother who cooks and stays at home to take care of the kids—they're mostly white, Christian, and American citizens. [WARNING: TRIALS SPOILERS AHEAD] The ideal American man is further illustrated in Officer Coyle's dialogue: “If only they were upstanding citizens like myself. Pay your taxes, do your job, fuck your wife, put a little something in the plate at service. America don't ask much.” Miles is arguably the antithesis of this, which is likely the reason he doesn't have any close friends/family—he was likely rejected by society. Frankenstein's monster follows a similar arc: he is also rejected by society and seeks refuge in seclusion. (The concept of “rejection by society” is inherent in queerness.)

With these parallels, it makes sense for Miles to be the ideal host for the Walrider. Additionally, Miles embodies queerness that isn't strictly homosexual—I mean his whole background/lifestyle is already, by definition, “queer”—but questions regarding his sexuality arise when inspecting other details of his character.

My friend pointed out the whole “Manhandler Hairspray for the Active Man” detail in Miles' apartment. There are a lot of homosexual undertones in the label, and it's hard not to think otherwise. “Manhandler” and “Active” are terms which indicate the “top” role in gay culture. I mean, it's possible that Miles is just embodying the “metrosexual” identity (basically straight men who embody characteristics associated with homosexuality) but metrosexuality is rooted in consumerism, which doesn't exactly align with Miles' character since he is openly critical of capitalism. I think the hairspray hints at queerness (or at least gender non-conformity).

The most revolutionary detail that my friend pointed out was the fact that Miles went out of his way to roast the ever-living shit out of everyone he came across at Mount Massive, begging the question: why is he so fixated on the appearances of other men? This could stem from his own insecurities of being rejected by society or insecurities of his own vanity (considering the hairspray he uses and the fact that he goes jogging…and if he's just trying to be healthy through exercise then he needs to explain his self-destructive alcoholism…idk…jogging for mental health? It’s open to interpretation…WAIT I mean he could just be keep up his physical fitness also with all the investigating he has to do anyways fjshshkdhd). It was just interesting that Miles was so fixated on physical appearances that it makes me wonder if he'd make similar comments about women—I don't believe he would and I'll explain below.

I know that we need to take Red Barrels' tweets with a grain of salt—they're known for deleting tweets that detail misinformation about the protagonists—but I find this tweet particularly interesting. I may be looking too much into it, especially since it's just a tweet and not presented in the games/comics, but it certainly is reflective of Red Barrels' values of respecting women and not viewing women as sexual objects, along with the notion of dismantling cis-heteropatriarchy/chivalry. It certainly doesn't mean he's not straight, but he doesn't particularly view women as sexual objects either (and I know that straight men are capable of not viewing women as sexual objects). Food for thought.

Some extra stuff:

Anti-conservatism and punk ideology (which Miles explicitly embodies) are pillars of queer culture in the political sphere.

The Germanic folklore, which the Walrider is based off of, exhibits notions of sexuality (though, probably not in the best light).

[TRIALS SPOILER] Wernicke’s dream therapy is associated with Dr. Easterman’s queerness—Easterman would be distracted by Wernicke’s handsomeness (and they both explicitly critique heterosexual relationships). Again, this supports the Walrider’s themes of sexuality.

Waylon

As for WAYLON, even though there isn't concrete evidence in the games to intentionally indicate queerness, that isn't to say he is entirely heterosexual (because assuming he's heterosexual is yet another product of the “ideal American man” image in a cis-heteronormative society, and Outlast's narratives are about dismantling this notion). In fact, now that you bring it up, I agree that Waylon can be considered on the queer spectrum/under the queer umbrella.

Regarding the “dismantling the ideal American man in a cis-heteronormative society” concept…the devs, artists, writer(s), actors, and contributors to the games' development are not only open/accepting of things outside of society's norms/expectations, but many are social activists. Chimwemwe Miller (VA for Chris Walker) is outspoken about being Black, Black history, and racism—he also narrated an audiobook which discussed racism, colonialism, & imperialism. Erika Rosenbaum (VA for Lynn Langermann) organized provisions for refugees and is active in environmental causes and feminism—she also spoke out during the #MeToo movement. Shawn Baichoo (VA for Miles, Waylon, & Blake) is also vocal about feminism/racism and was a huge advocate for his character Wrench's bisexuality from Watch Dogs 2, which became confirmed in a later installment of the Watch Dogs franchise.

I bring this up because Red Barrels actually entertains the idea of Waylon x Eddie (in the hypothetical that Eddie wasn't an antagonist like he was in the game…so like, erasing his problematic features baha…this deserves an analysis of its own) without mentioning sexuality or anything like that. Obviously, this can be seen as a way to entertain the fanbase, but I think it's worth mentioning that Waylon isn't opposed to homosexuality. After all, Waylon never makes homophobic remarks in his notes nor comments on male sexuality—he's just fearful of being assaulted (as anyone would be, regardless of gender/sexuality). He would, in fact, engage in a homosexual relationship according to this hypothetical.

(Note: the term “insane” is a harmful descriptor in this context, which is why I wrote “wasn’t an antagonist like he was in the game”)

So yea! I definitely think there's queerness with Waylon's character. And I don't exactly mean this to be “representation” because there's a lot of responsibility that comes with that, but ultimately I think it adds to what the franchise and the devs are trying to do—normalize queerness and dismantle the notion of the “ideal American man in a cis-heteronormative society” (and if you've studied socioeconomics/social theory, you know that this notion is a product of capitalism, which is another important theme in the franchise).

All in all, my interpretation is that the franchise operates on the idea that “queerness” is normal or innate, but social structures are what label it otherwise. I've seen a lot of discussion surrounding Outlast characters' queerness, and it's interesting to me that the antagonists' sexualities get more attention amongst casual players than the protagonists' sexualities (and I think I can understand why, it's just a lot to unpack).

Just as many of the antagonists can be read as queer, the protagonists should arguably be read through the same lens. I truly do think Miles and Waylon (and even Lynn and Blake!) deserve to be inspected under queer lens. Doing so aligns with the franchise's philosophy/narratives. Also the idea of “queer characters taking down capitalism” is super empowering (and actually very identifiable hehe).

(Sorry, I think I projected a lot of my own personal values and biases into this post LOL hhhjdsfh feel free to critique anything I've written!)

1. Twilight - calm country boy but won’t accept being taken advantage of, also deeply cares about his friends and family (of the Links, he reminds me most of one of my best friends)

2. Four - also calm, logical, in fanfics is usually the only one holding the group’s singular brain cell lol (I’m a very logical person as opposed to emotional)

3. Sky - mother of the group, very sweet and loving (reminds me of my other best friend, but both Sky and my best friend can be a little too serious bc of this trait, I like to make jokes and mess around sometimes)

4. Tears - I think he’s a little less chaotic than Wild, I say a LITTLE lol, but idk, he can drive things so that’d help with traveling because I don’t like walking too much, but seeing scenery while flying would be pretty cool

5. Hyrule - most of the fanfics portray him as a very shy timid follower, and while I don’t want someone to dominate me in r relationship, I also don’t want to dominate, I need to have someone who can take charge but doesn’t boss me around

6. Wild - kinda already explained this one, ik he also has horses we could ride but still

7. Legend - his sense of humor being sarcasm is the same as me, I love sarcasm, I once said to someone “my sarcasm makes up for the whole population”, but while r senses of humor would be the same, I can’t see us working that well in a relationship, his abrasiveness is a lot and I’d rather have someone who’s softer and can cuddle with me w/o having to pretend it’s the worst thing ever bc eww feelings

1 - sky (literally no matter what au) He's insanely caring about people that he's close to, but can also be pretty snarky and rude. He and I have pretty similar senses of humor plus he's really loyal and honest to people he wants to keep close. (also I see him the most as being ace and even if I hc the others as such it just fits him the best IMO and idk if I would want to date any more allos after my experiences fbvsbfbvs)

2 - Twilight soft! country! boy!!!!! He's loyal to a T and is just so warm cuddly and oh I do love him so - I think he'd be number one for compatibility if it wasn't for my fear of dogs lmao

AH yes hello! I love you, too, Apri, and I hope *you* have a wonderful Wednesday! I'll start on Kay's personality but just one note, real quick- the picture with the blood (which i forgot to tag for whoops) is uh, well. That's Kay. As a child. That's his blood. So you don't need to worry about him being violent. He does malfunction occasionally but it rarely, if ever, causes him to be violent.

Kay is kind of goofy because he's a version of myself now combined with myself in middle school. He's far more socially inept than me (which is saying something because I don't think of myself as terribly socially savvy) and he is not as good with boundaries. He can be incredibly awkward and he's not good at approaching people, if someone wants or needs to talk to him, they are going to have to do the legwork on going up to him because he has been burned too many times before when it comes to putting himself out on a limb like that.

He's very similar to my younger self, when I was not as good at masking and not as aware of my "autistic" behaviors like infodumping and assuming people are being literal, more often than not. He's just as impulsive and crass as me but he tries really hard *not* to be, unwilling to accept that part of himself, which is another difference from me, because I've pretty much stopped caring about what people think of me . . . unless they're my friends, of course.

Sometimes, he'll also short-circuit and say something that doesn't make sense or is just incredibly out of pocket, but that's usually a system error causing his voice box to process the unwanted stimulus in a way that it can handle while it's resetting/fixing whatever problem is going on. He will also vocal stim but it's him using his database of different recorded sounds to make weird songs or playing one sound over and over because he really likes it.

I hpoe that this helps gives context and info, in way of Kay's personality!!

(note: his eyes, brain, trachea, and larynx are all artificial because they were irreparably damaged in the accident and had to be replaced. the rest of his body is organic though his heart/lungs are supplemented with technology, as well.)

Repiton and turning the uncanny vally upside-down: a rant pretending to be an analysis

Vast Error does a great job at making its main world, Repiton, feel truly broken. but more so than in grand shows of devastation or shambling quasi-undead, it shows in the daily lives of the characters. in the mundane. the familiar.

because here's the thing; it's too familiar. that's the genius of it all.

let's step back a bit; i don't think many non-homestucks read Vast Error. it might not be directly connected to it plot-wise, but it is on framework- and worldbuilding level (and technically also directly via the whole Midnight Crew/ Dead Shufflers intermission overlap). you're supposed to know how things are "supposed" to be.

which brings us to Alternia/Beforus. the place trolls came from in "canon". the place where expectations about what is normal formed. both versions of the world have massive differences, but the one thing they have in common is how absurdly a alive they are. Alternia was a death world, but anything but a dead world.

and what's often overlooked is that the drones and biotech and intertwined systems of automation and symbiosis on both versions of these worlds made them functionally post-scarcity! the enslaved alien races under the Alternian Empire were hatesinks, not labor force. all manual labour is automated and done by drones. drones they co-evolved with. i don't think it's far-fetched to claim trolls functionally *evolved* in a post-scarcity environment!

so what's at the core of troll society?

-unstable intraspecies dynamics that turn violent easily, and are often fatal, which makes some sense considering (see next point).

-a complex eusocial r-selected (<explains the ease of killing from an evolutionary perspective) reproductive strategy with 3 ""sexes""; drones, mother grubs, and trolls.

-technology, society, and ecology/biology form a continuum, much more so than it does for humans. computers are alive, hivestems grow.

and by the time you finish Homestuck, even if you never cared much about worldbuilding in such a way, you pick up on that. maybe not the details, but at least the aesthetic, the vibe of it. and despite how weird much of it is in comparison to the human baseline, your brain adapts.

because you know how people often say this story alters your brain structure? this is one of the ways how. when trolls are involved, it flips over the uncanny valley graph, subjectively speaking.

and the bottom of the valley becomes the peak, and that's where Alternia resides (forgive the horrble drawing, im doing this on my laptop's touchpad)

so where does that leave Repiton? on Repiton, there are no mother grubs or drones. on Repiton technology is dead, made of metal and plastic. on Repiton there's ads. there's shortages. Repiton is more familiar from a human perspective than Alternia or Beforus could ever be. and that's why it feels wrong. because the graph is still flipped.

This is a tim drake fiction based around the kind of fiction ramsy writes (they're rly cool you should like, go check them out) anyways, onto the story. This has angst with some comfort btw lolol

It wasn't his fault. None of it was.

Not his parents leaving him to go on digs or to go away for business meetings and such, not for having to spend most of his childhood alone in his big house. Not being able to experience a some-what normal childhood like most of the world did. Well, if you could consider normal childhoods like figuring out which Rouge, villain, or hero you'd wanna be for Halloween and risk the chance of that hero or villain seeing you out like that and taking a picture with you at least.

And it wasn't like Tim was jealous that he didn't get a "normal" childhood- or life for that matter! His parents provided safety, a large mansion that he graciously lived in for most of his life, food, access to just about anything technology wise, and utilities! Most gothamites didn't even have three of those things. Just because of the fact that he didn't have a some-what normal childhood didn't mean that Tim was jealous of other people for that. Heck, he should be grateful!

Then why did he have this feeling in the back of hit throat whenever he was stressed out when cases were loaded onto him? Why did he start to feel a bit to overwhelmed than usual when things with his share of WE and Red Robin got to much? It didn't use to be like this, well, maybe it was. Maybe he just didn't really notice it before. Or maybe he did, maybe he did notice it and just push it down with every other burden in his life.

Yeah he's gone through a crazy ton of stuff, who hasn't? For Christ's sake, at least he still had basic necessities. And he had somewhat of a family, it was more than what was offered to him when he was birthed at least. Yeah they were a handful, and stressful- but that was only because they cared about him. At least he thinks so, it would make sense if they didn't. As a matter of fact he knows they probably don't as much. He was just a placeholder, a pretender. Heck, he stalked them for Christ's sake. He's a weirdo. It's been made known multiple, times before. Dick wanted to send him away to Arkham when Bruce "died", Jason tried to kill him, heck they still weren't on the bestest of terms after that. Damian tried to kill him on multiple occasions and resents him. Steph...

He scoffs, rolling his eyes a bit.

"Hell if I know with her anymore."

Red Robin and Nightwing were currently patrolling the west side of the city, near the docks. Nightwing had gone towards the outer city part of the docks, leaving Red Robin alone for the time being closer to the boats. Letting out a huff of air, RR leapt from shipping container to shipping container.

"S'not like they even need me..like, why the hell am I even here?..I jus' like-"

A minorly erupt thud comes from one of the shipping containers after RR lands on it rather roughly- the big bad bat wouldn't be proud at that one.

"Ow- shit-.. whatever. Jesus fuc- why in the world am I even here?? Like, really."

Red Robin softly taped his ear piece twice, connecting it to the line where Nightwing and Oracle where the only ones residing.

"It's a slow night..Wing, check in."

The line beeped once for confirmation.

"Nothing much here Red, I'm gonna head back to the cave before I leave for blud tomorrow. You should head back soon too."

RR squatted down onto the shipping container, "Will do wing. RR out." A soft beeping noise could be heard, letting him know that the line had been closed for the night.

Sighing, Red Robin leapt from container to container until finnally grappling onto a nearby building.

This is what he liked to do most, it was his favorite personal thing to do when he had first became Robin. Feeling the cool Gotham air fill his hair and lungs as he flew from rooftop to rooftop. It was like his form of a teenage rebellion. Defying all laws of gravity and life and just living. Just flying.

Seeing the cave entrance at last he snuck in silently, not like that make any differences, seeing as it required a DNA confirmation and retinal scan along with multiple passwords and confirmation in order to get in. Dicks request, after everything with Talon and the Court of Owls of course. Although Tim considered it overkill.

"Batman, Hood." Tim acknowledged. Earning a grunt and a roughened dismissal, "hey" in return.

Shedding his uniform and hitting the showers, letting the warm water run off of his hair and body. Letting his thoughts run free.

He must've been in there for a while, cause when he came to from his trance the locker room had become misty with steam. Drying off and changing clothes with haste, he finishes up and steps back out into the cave.

"Crap-"

He thinks, quickly noticing the shift in atmosphere from the hot bathroom and the seemingly icy one of the cave. He's gotta get outta here, the quick change from hot to cold does not pair well with having no spleen. In which no one on the team really knows about. It's not really their business anyways, if they really wanted to know more about him, the world's greatest detective could've just figured it out himself.

"Tim?" God damnit.

Tim halts midway up the stairway, "Yeah? Is there something you need B?"

"Yeah...come here for a moment please."

"Fuuuuckkkk" He mentally reprimanded himself.

Stepping down with as much haste as his already tired legs would let him, Tim walks up to Bruce and the Batcomputer.

"Yeah B? What's up?"

Without even turning towards him, Bruce hands Tim a large envelope. "This is new info on the Dowry case. New info showed up, the father apparently left the kid alone for weeks on end. I need you to investigate why he did and what he was doing during this time."

Tim opens the envelope slightly, glazing over its contents.

"Okay..thanks B." Tim rushes up the staircase and shuts the clock behind him. Great. Just great. Not only did he already have to try and push back that godforsaken feeling in his throat and head away, but he had to do even more paperwork and had the chance of catching a stupid cold. All just because dumb ol' Batsy couldn't wait until tomorrow to give him this case. He couldn't really blame Bruce for that though..that was stupid, and childish.

Mopely shrugging to his room and flopping lazily onto his bed, Tim rips open the envelope and sets down the paperwork and photographs. Cold, hard, evidence. Tim could do that, simple enough. Can't fuck up cold hard set in stone facts. This was good, this was something he was good at.

As the hours past, Tim had gotten so in the zone with this case it was almost solved. The dad was off in Kansas reliving his glory days for some strange reason, and in doing that had just left his kid off in their house to fend for themselves.

And that's when it hit him, hard.

He could see himself in the kid, little Timothy Jackson Drake. So mature for his age, so smart. He skipped a grade in school don't you know? He's able to fend for himself.

The kid was almost just like him in some aspects, same short black hair, pale skin, blue eyes- oh god-

His parents.

He could see his parents in those eyes.

Those eyes that were almost like his mother's. Those sharp, demanding eyes.

Tim hadn't even realized he was staring at the picture until water began to stain the photo, making it rise with bumps after a while.

Jesus, why was he even crying? S'not like it's even a big deal. He can take care of himself, maybe this kid couldn't but that was just because he was a kid!! Tim was different. Tim had been smarter than all the other kids in his grades he has straight A's, he excelled.

That was the difference between him and this kid.

He wouldn't understand the type of pain that this kid went through, he couldn't.

Then why was that feeling back stronger than ever? Why did he feel a blooming warmth in his chest, trying to fill that void? Why did his head feel light and misty like a cloud? And why did he kind of want it to take over?

Setting down the photo and leaning back, he runs his hands through his hair, sighing.

"I don't know what's wrong with me...what's wrong with me...why am I like this.."

Soft tears ran down rose pink cheeks, landing on the soft bedding below. What if..what if he let the mist take over? Just for once? Maybe just..softly. He didn't even know what that feeling was but, it seemed to slightly feel good. Maybe it would make him feel better if he laid down. Tim turned off his bedside lamp and got up.

Pulling up the covers, he got under them and closed his eyes. Slowly letting the warmth blossom in his chest and take over, drifting softly to sleep.

Gender: Female (for now; I also get nonbinary/genderqueer vibes from her.)

Pronouns: She/Her (for now; later on in her I could see he being open to he/him and they/them as well as she/her. In general, she just doesn't care about gender or how people perceive her, so long as she can focus on her projects and be herself.)

Powers: None

Appearance-wise you can clearly see a good mix of Lonnie and Thad in her, though not really one over the other. Sure, she's got short red wavy hair and yellow eyes, which are obvious from on who they come from, her facial structure is a good mix of them both. Her hair isn't as curly as Lonnie's but it's definitely wavy and somewhat unable to be tamed at times. Her hair also take on that messy and sort of voluminous style Thad has. Body-wise: She's pretty lithe, around the same height as Lonnie (so around 5'10; maybe just a touch under, but still taller than Thad), and has a fit physique. Also sun-burns easily much to her chagrin as someone who likes running.

Fashion-wise: As a base point she has more style in general and opinions on fashion than Thad. She definitely has a MCR Danger Day's era fashion wise at one point. Her "lab wear" is the most comfortable and lax you'll see her in, which constitutes old T-shirts, sweats, (proper eye-wear and closed foot-wear, of course), and a lot of oil/grease stains from her work.

Personality-wise: K is the mischievous sort who toes the line when it comes to trouble. She's always testing the limits of what she can get away with.

She is social and likes socializing with others (especially on robotics forums and the like), but she has moments where she blends in and is quiet in the sense that she watches other people very closely.

With parents like Lonnie and Thad, and I assume being in contact with not one but two different AIs, I can see her developing an interest in technology, hacking, engineering, coding, and those sorts of skills. Starting from a place of learning how things work and then developing toward testing out the limitations of technology.

Specifically her particular interest would be in robotics.

She would be the sort who would try (and succeed) in creating miniature versions of Gundams or Zoids. And you can bet that she would make some for Craydl and MAX to pilot/use as physical bodies for them to walk around and explore in.

In her teen years should would definitely sneak out in the middle of the night to participate in underground robot fights. Y'know, kinda like BattleBots, but more extreme. She would take no prisoners.

She's got the stubbornness and competitive streak from both Lonnie and Thad. And she doesn't like being wrong.

As an adult she could easily go the 'mad scientist' sort of route, but instead of that she is trying to make society better for people, but her ways of going about it aren't always appreciated.

Her goals are not destruction or causing chaos, but rather she sees the system as slow/corrupt/doesn't work, and instead goes beneath it in order to reveal truths or force them into the light and in ways they can't be ignored.

She might take on a necessary evil sort of role in order to work toward her goals. It's just how she's perceived by society.

She doesn't care for labels overall. Good? Evil? Whatever. She's just doing what she feels is right/best.

She definitely has jokingly said/threatened that she can always become a mad scientist if things don't work out for her.

The story itself is called Retrograde and Sam and Val are the two main characters!

(Brace yourself it's kinda long!)

Val:

Personality wise he's pretty reserved, doesn't really say much unless needed, he's more open with people he's close to

Though he may look moody, he's actually just awkward

Currently he's working as a bounty hunter to pay his rent and keep the license but really it's just a title and he just goes around accepting odd jobs that pay him

He doesn't kill people so he instead chooses to beat them up real bad and turn them in

Val isn't his real name, it's just a nickname. Barely anyone knows his real name aside from one or two people.

Doesn't have the best past (original i know but its plot relevant) but he's working through his mistakes and trying to make amends with himself and others

He was found drifting in the river on the verge of death but was miraculously revived by a doctor who ran a small clinic nearby

He got into bounty hunting because he could get a license that works as a valid form of id so he can rent an apartment and have a bank account while also being able to hide his identity (loopholes)

His eyes are actually not normal and are in fact a genetic condition he was born with! He gets a lotta stares and comments for it but he doesn't really care atp

Actually ridiculously good at dancing, he won a lot of competitions for ballroom dancing when he was in highschool and he could've gone professional if it weren't for certain other reasons

Because of his weirdly unique talent, he's really agile which makes him good at close hand combat

He's the one who drives both him and Sam around because he's the only one who has a hoverbike and can drive

He's gonna have a longer description cause he's pretty plot relevant for the beginning

He's a pretty easy going guy, in many ways the opposite Val

Easy to get along with, most of the time he's pretty chill so he doesn't find it too hard to talk to people

Not really an extrovert tho, somewhere in the middle but still social if that makes sense

Val found him in an underground cave sleeping in a pod like thing while on a bounty

Somehow he managed to open the pod and wake Sam up, only to find out he has no recollection of anything that's happened to him nor who he is or his name

They decided to call him 'Sam' for now because it was printed on the tag hanging from his left ear

The last thing Sam remembers before waking up is a giant flash and burning buildings

Based on the weird room, sleeping pod, and the weird suit he's wearing, the two figure out that Sam's been asleep for a lot longer than he thought (more than 500 years)

He's actually from the Previous Era, which was an old civilization a lot more technologically advanced than the Current Era but was destroyed by a cataclysmic explosion (wonder what caused it?)

So Sam is technically many many years old atp but is still mentally the same age as Val

As you can guess he doesn't really take this very well

Turns out there was another pod next to Sam's pod that's been opened meaning that he may not be alone

Sam decides he wants to recover his lost memories and find out what happened to him and also find the person in the other pod, or at least what happened to them

Since he has no idea what the current era is like he enlists Val's help in exchange for helping him pay his rent.

He decides to keep his true identity a secret to not draw attention

He's actually really good at fighting and can hold up with Val pretty well so the two become partners

He's got these strange metal implants inside him, the most visible one around his neck which he's a bit self conscious about.

He doesn't know why it's there but it might have something to do with the blue ring above his head

The halo only turns off when he sleeps/lies down but seems to be above his head no matter what (he doesn't like it cause it draws a lot of attention)

His eyes are really unnatural and actually glow in the dark, another thing that freaks him out

His hair is naturally coral pink and not dyed (which is also a bit strange but not as much as the other things in his opinion)

Sam can't really read well, he's not sure if it's because he never learnt to read or the language has changed so much since he went to sleep, he's also not great at math

Kinda thanks to this he's also not great at budgeting and sometimes spends a lot of money on useless things that piques his interest (which causes him and val to do more bounties, much to val's dismay)

Even though he can be kind of an idiot sometimes, he does his best to fix his mistakes and make it up to people

Weapon of choice is dual guns!

Things he likes:

Sweet drinks (he's got a bad addiction to boba, milkshakes, and smoothies)

Arcade games (sucks at the fighting games but really good at rhythm games)

Astronomy (he knows nearly every constellation and its position by memory, it's kinda scary)

Some other fun facts !!

They live together in Val's apartment, they alternate sleeping on the couch and bed since Val felt bad

Even though Val said he'd only help Sam if he helped pay his rent, he actually didn't mind helping him for free and only added that because Sam insisted

Val is the only one who can cook out of the two, however that doesn't mean he's good at it, so they usually just order out most of the time

The world they live in is a mix between futuristic and post apocalyptic, yeah there's still technology but it's not as great as it was before

Part of this was because after the collapse of the previous era, rebuilding took a crazy long time and there was a big power struggle until the current government took control

There was a 4 year long civil war that happened and ended around 5 years before Sam woke up

There's currently a large supply shortage so for the past few decades so some technology has regressed

Their world is technically an alternate universe of our world, the divergent point happened around the late 1940s, I could go into it more but it's not that plot relevant but it is the reason they don't have a lot of today's modern technology despite it being many years into the future

!!! ok here we go :D

1) what would their social media page/activity be like: i've discussed this w/ a friend but i think denmark is the most technologically capable after sweden! i think on twitter he's a little more professional (but he loves rting feel-good stuff) BUT he shines on insta. it's full of artsy pictures of the danish countryside and embarrassing videos of him and his friends on his stories :,)

2) what animal they remind me of: i don't care that it's predictable that man is a puppy!!!! manga denmark is a golden retriever but anime denmark is a yippy chihuahua with that fucking voice

3) my thoughts on their design/aesthetic alone: LOVE!! i think his canon outfit is really nice compared to.... whatever the other four are doing!! his hair is dumb but it's dumb /affectionate /i love him

4) physical headcanons: i got a few! he's an early bird!! and a light sleeper. physique-wise he's the second tallest nordic and he has BIG ass arms (an axe was his main weapon so!! makes sense to me!) he has a huge sweet tooth + he loves pastries!! but his favourite is whatever norway bakes because he's a softie :) as for actual food.... this man survives on sandwiches hot dogs and beer. get well soon x

5) social headcanons: denmark is the nordic with the most friends outside of the group!! finland comes close, because everyone loves finland and he has estonia & hungary, but i think denmark's outside friendships are more involved! a strip that really stuck with me is one during the denmark-norway period, where he goes to the netherlands and asks him to give him the buddy price on weaponry and ned agrees despite how he usually is :,) within the group, i see him as having an older-brother-but-kinda-dad relationship with iceland. sweden and him are close now and they're just the brothers who had a fallout but now r coping by insulting themselves jokingly (only when they're a few drinks in sometimes it's not a joke). he and fin only became close in later centuries but their personalities are super compatible so they're great friends!! and he and norway... oughghhg you're talking to dennor lover #1 here HAH to me they've been basically on-and-off in love for 1100 years or so :,) i'll go more into it in a future post so i'll stop here but!! yeah!!

6) psychological headcanons: i feel like i covered most of this in my denmark analysis!! but hm yeah for me his greateast fear is for sure isolating his family again. and despite how carefree he acts, i think he weighs his decisions very carefully because of what happened in the past when he didn't. i think he's actually really good with dealing with anger in modern day (he's had a lot of practice) but he regrets how he used to be before. speaking of before!! i love to think abt him from the viking era to approximately the late 1500s just... cocky bloodthirsty denmark is really fun to explore and i think people should play it up more instead of making him p much as sweet as in modern times! i dont think he wouldve been anything like that to anyone but his family and own people (also animals btw this guy loves animals 100%)

7) ship(s) with them that i like or at least consider: in terms of like... my version of canon i'm a dennor soloshipper i think :,) BUT i find denmark/norway/finland/sweden fun to think about!! also denmark/estonia is a rarepair i think is veryvery cute. and some classic nedden never hurt anyone!

8) made-up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever): yes!! estonia as i just mentioned! he was danish land once and he's a nordic fanboy now so they have to have some kind of relationship! also prussia; i know they do have the whole awesome trio thing going on, BUT i think historical denmark & prussia is not spoken about enough. the 2 were on the same side all the time back then!! finally i find it really funny if he and poland get on each others nerves HAH again because of historical reasons!

9) headcanons about their past: again covered a lot of these already but!! here's one that's a little different. denmark was the first to become christian, and i think he would've annoyed the fuck out of norway and sweden (who were still norse pagan) about it! sometimes it just got him exasperated eye rolls, sometimes it got him beheaded, yk how it goes

10) content about them I'd like to see more of: anything i love denmark sosososo much more iceland & denmark content!!! i adore norway & iceland don't get me wrong but they for sure overshadow ice & dan when it comes to familial dynamics and it's a shame! also i think a lot of the historical content focuses on the viking era, the fall of the kalmar union or 1814, and i'd like to see more of him in the 1500s-1700s!! he was up to interesting stuff!!

I was originally going to ramble about gender in relation to whatever little fellow I am, but then I thought it would be more fun to just write about all the silly little concepts that most are used to and compare it to how things are approached in my home world. I won't write about everything, so perhaps I can split it into multiple parts or just write things up whenever I feel like it.

Now, the beings of my home world are rather isolated so any new concept we came across in other worlds were played with like a new toy until we make sense of it in our own ways/cultural contexts.

The idea of family (the idea of mothers, fathers, siblings, etc) for example, was foreign. Nobody in our world really required another to "reproduce", anyone could do it regardless of perceived sex. Which is just that. Perceived based on what outsiders might assume of us on an individual level. We are all truly sexless, so "reproduction" occurred on a more mental level so to speak. It is akin to conjuring up an imaginary friend, though no involvement went into creating looks and a personality. One simply put intent into making another being and that being would form into their own person. Though, they would form overtime within the saftey of an egg. (No laying involved.)

In the past, dreaming? imagining? another into the world was done for the purpose of companionship. The very first being whom dreamed up our world during their 3 million+ years slumber awoke to their glorious realm and wished to share their world with others, so they dreamed up three friends. Those three wound up being the progenitors of the three kinds who inhabited our world. The long (dragons), qilin, and whatever the heck my kind is.

I don't remember when the idea of families were brought to my home world. But we did enjoy the concept very much. Many paired off or formed groups, some had children together. And as the concept of children became a popular idea, any new being who came into the world looked to be the equivalent of a young child instead of automatically appearing fully grown like they used to. They would obviously "grow up" over time, but being immortal they wouldn't age past being a young adult appearance wise.

As for labels, I do not remember how that went over. I and my siblings enjoyed calling each other brother or sister like it was all a little game which helped us bond, although only one wished to be referred to as a 'sibling' only. The eight of us formed in the same egg, so maybe it was natural for us to want to call each other by such titles. So we are essentially octuplets, I suppose.

But besides those labels, there was also gender. I don't think we ever thought much about whatever we learned from other worlds. I personally called myself a boy because I thought it was cute, and not only that but I appeared and dressed more femininly while in my humanoid form because it was what I most enjoyed. For beings whom can form realms and new companions with a simple thought, I don't think such a thing as gender is such a big deal to us. It was just another toy to play with to ones hearts content and then put away in the toy chest at the end of the day after all.

I don't know if I have anything else I can add to these particular topics. Others opinions aside, I don't think they're the most interesting things I could have written about my home world. I'm personally more excited about recording our philosophies, views on other beings, use of technology, world travel, cultures, history, the structure of our world, and infringing on any interesting ideas we find in other worlds. No, we do not care about copyright or patents. We reinvented the train and made it better.

Anyway maybe if there's anything anyone would want to know, I'd be happy to answer anything if I remember anything.

Whilst I never cared for the ship - I don't necessarily think it's "out of character."

It's hard to say if it's "creepy" because it's hard to know what Eddie's or Babs' age IS. Yes, often Eddie is drawn as though he's middle aged or older. But there is a Rebirth comic that literally cites him as being 30, or at the very least, in his early 30s. Babs is an adult, so she can be anywhere from 18-mid 20s herself, maybe older. Especially since Bruce has raised like 2 kids/teenagers since her, and is currently raising another kid. DC is just so scared to tell us ages, it's hard to say what the true age gap of Eddie and Babs is. It could literally only be a few years. Also, what makes Bruce and Babs so creepy isn't necessarily (or only) because of the age gap - it's the heavy assumption that Bruce usually knows Babs since she was a kid, and also she's the kid of Gordon - an usually older man who is one of Bruce's best friend, and sometimes even father figure. so, Bruce fucking his best friend's/father figure's daughter is fucking weird.

Another thing... despite me not caring for the ship? I completely understand WHY dc was trying to push it. Eddie and Babs do have a few key points in common: They're the redheads of each side (Well Eddie is most of the time since Nu52 - used to be a brunette) They're the Computer Nerds of each side and known for being technological. Babs' other identity, Oracle, is often associated with the color green, whilst Batgirl is often associated with the color purple - just how Eddie is green and purple. It does make sense that Eddie may potentially be interested in somebody who has these similarities, as well as love for computers. Do I think that makes them compatible personality wise? Not really - but I do understand they share a lot of themes, and DC noticed this - hence why the ship started happening.

Also like if there is a potential age gap, there's also many things that make Eddie and Bruce creepy. Given that Eddie is an abuse victim, therefore shipping him from someone who regularly beats him up can be seen as weird (even if it's because Eddie needs to be stopped. Still) And then comics have shown Eddie literally DOES think of Bruce as his abuser (him thinking Bruce is the same as his childhood bullies) and there's also the Ark games where Bruce DEFINITELY reminds Eddie of his abusive father, and that's why he hates Bruce so much. And so on.

lmao. i definitely get this sentiment. it's something i felt too at first. it's just instinctive. and rightfully so in my opinion. i think it's a good instinct to be wary of new leaps in technology. because i /am/ a lover of technology but i also think it's something that needs to be approached wisely. and this instinct is a part of that. it's good sense.

but no, i don't think we should ban ai art or send its supporters into the depths of hell. lmao. i'm not sure what your main hesitation is but i think for most people it's because they think ai will run artists out of business and it'll just create soulless art. i think this actually underestimates humanity.

i think artists are going to take a hit at first. but they will adjust. they will find new niches and new artforms. and i do agree that ai art will probably seem soulless. so i think it will be up to humans to give it soul. i can imagine artists using ai to create a bunch of concepts and then refining it into a finished product. i think this will make the artist's life easier. i think it will also make (some) art cheaper. and i think it will make art more accessible to more people. and i think maybe it will replace some of the more tedious art jobs but i don't think ai will totally replace art altogether. even if ai-generated art starts becoming predominant in an industry. i think humans are just inherently creative and like creating art and i think humans will continue to prefer human-created art and be in awe of human skill.

i think that ai generated art will have less value than human-created. i think there will be laws mandating that ai-generated art has to be disclosed that it was created by ai. and human created art might be in more demand /because/ it has more soul. people can sense that sort of stuff and it's something people care about. i think using ai-generated art for /concept/ art might be more common. but i think the refining and polishing of the finished work will probably continue being done by humans. i think art done for its own sake will probably still be mostly human dominated. i mean like art in museums that are sold for thousands and millions of dollars. i can't imagine people paying that kind of money for ai-generated art. but art by a prestigious artist with their own unique styles and ideas? easily.

these are just guesses and i could be wrong about some of them but i don't think i'm wrong about humans being creative and resilient and that they'll just find new niches. we're kind of in an unpredictable moment right now and it's hard to tell how this will affect art in the future precisely. but i just can't imagine humans not finding ways to create art. i feel like art is so fundamental to our humanity. and i feel like with every new tech that's developed there is always these types of predictions. that it's going to destroy art. like photography or something. but it didn't art is still obviously alive and well. even "photorealistic" art is a thing. though now we opt to just get a photograph taken instead of having a portrait painted. so that's one way in which art took a hit, arguably. but also there /are/ still people out there that do portrait paintings.

honestly, i actually wonder how much portrait painting took a hit actually. because i feel like it was probably never super common. you'd need to find a skilled enough artist and his prices were probably high enough to exclude most people. the advent of photography just made portraits more accessible. more affordable for people who otherwise couldn't afford painted portraits. just speculation though.

so yeah, in the end, i get the hesitancy. but i think things will turn out okay. i believe in the human spirit.
