I completely agree that Abhi would hate Travis a bit because of his knock in that match we won't talk about because it never happened! 🥰 (Can't you tell I'm an India fan? 🤣) And it would start out as cute bantering hate to love. I also feel like while Abhi is in his phase of disliking Travis, he keeps talking to him or about him in Hindi which Trav can't understand 🤣 Like Trav comes down to breakfast and sits next to Abhishek, wishes him a good morning like any friendly person will do. Abhishek responds by rolling his eyes and muttering "aa gayi museebat!" Which translated to English means "Here comes trouble! 😒" When they're appointed the opening pair for SRH, Abhi spends the entire day muttering something like "Pata nahi pichle janam mein konse paap kiye the jo iss janam mein iss aadmi ke saath paala pad gaya." (translation: i don't know what sins I commited in my past life that in this life, I encountered this man. 😒" And he keeps addressing Travis by derogatory Hindi words, like he never calls him by name, he just calls him stuff like "gadha!" (donkey) or "kutta!" (dog) or even some of the more insulting hindi expletives like chutiya (fucker) 😅😅 And when Abhishek realizes that Travis is flirting with him, he calls him "tharki buddha!" (perverted old man, yk because travis is actually around 8 years older than Abhi 😂😂😂)
So eventually, Travis recruits one of his Indian teammates at SRH, maybe Nitish Kumar Rana or Washington Sundar, to help him woo Abhi. NKR and Washy teach him Hindi, and then Trav asks Abhi out in slow, broken Hindi "mein... tumhe... bahut... pasand... karta hoon." (I really like you.) And that's when Abhi finally melts and agrees to go out on a date with him. Although NKR and Washy definitely give Travis bad translations before as a prank, they tell him that the phrase "teri behen ka lavda" translates to "I like you" in Hindi. It actually translates to "your sister's dick" 🤭 Travis ends up with a black eye when he tells that to Abhishek. Pat can't stop cackling.
So finally after they get into an official relationship, Abhi takes Travis out on dates to enjoy Indian street food. He treats him to golgappe, kulfi, samosa, vadapav, ice gola and what not, and he laughs uproariously when some of the items turn out to be too spicy for Travis and leave the Australian coughing like anything 😅🤣
Also, Travis' rant partner would be Patty who's just so DONE listening to how pretty Abhishek's eyes are, or how nice his smile is. Meanwhile Abhishek's rant partner is Shubman Gill, who he's been best mates with since they were 14. Abhi keeps complaining to Shub about how Travis is always flirting with him and how he can't believe the audacity of that bloke. Shub is also DONE because he can see that Abhi is in love with Travis, but his stubborn oblivious idiot of a best friend refuses to see the fact that's staring him in the face.
omg LOVE!!! i don't know if it's the same in hindi but in english 'trouble' is a nickname that can be used affectionately or even flirtatiously. so i can imagine trouble becoming trav's nickname for abhi after someone translates his snide comments for travis
pat would definitely be his rant partner and he would get sick of it so quickly. he'd be pairing them up together at training to try and force them to hurry up and sort their shit out 😭

[ad_1] Venkatesh Iyer for KKR (PC: X) He played a stellar hand in KKR’s title triumph and was also a part of the leadership group for the franchise in 2024. Having missed out on retention, Venkatesh Iyer is understandably emotional. And yet he sees the rationale behind the retentions and hopes that his former franchise will surely lift the paddle for him at the auction. Excerpts from the conversation: Boria: You had some fantastic seasons with KKR. When you came on the scene in 2021, KKR seemed down and out. And then that fantastic run taking the team to the finals. In 2024, the title win. Clearly, you must be feeling the emotion at missing out on retention. Venkatesh Iyer: I wouldn’t be truthful if I say I am not. KKR was not just a franchise I was playing for. It was like a family, and there are bonds that we have forged. There are some serious relationships there, and I had some fantastic moments with the team. KKR had given me the opportunity, and I tried to make the most of what I got. You do feel a little teary-eyed at not seeing your name in that retention list, but you also understand the choices made. Each one retained deserves to be retained. I do hope that in the forthcoming auction, KKR will see value in putting up the paddle for me. Boria: That was my next question. Would you be hoping that KKR goes for you at the auction? They don’t have a Right to Match (RTM) left, so it would be open bidding. Venkatesh Iyer: I haven’t said this to anyone before. When KKR bid for me the first time, there is no video of it. I haven’t actually seen KKR put up the paddle for me. And then, in the next auction, I was retained. So I have never seen the paddle go up for me at the auction. I have to say I am excitedly waiting for the moment when it happens, and I am surely hoping KKR does raise the paddle for me. It will be vindication of what I have been able to do in the last four years. Boria: Not many remember that after Nitish Rana was injured earlier this year, you were made the vice-captain of KKR. How much did it help you evolve as a player and leader having been given a leadership role? Venkatesh Iyer: Hugely. I still remember Gautam Gambhir telling me that I have been with the franchise for four years, and if I think of something, I must voice my opinion for it will always have value. You feel very good when you are told this. And then, when Nitish unfortunately got injured, I was appointed vice-captain and it was a huge moment in my career. Again, Gautam bhai always said to me that if was standing at slip and Shreyas, our captain, was fielding deep, I should always take responsibility and change the field if I thought so. If I was seeing something and wanted to do an adjustment, I was always encouraged to do it. That’s what felt very empowering. And now, I have to say that whichever dressing room I walk into, be it Madhya Pradesh, KKR or any other team that decides to invest in me, I know I will be a leader in that set-up. Not necessarily the captain, but surely a leader whose words will be taken seriously. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Venkatesh Iyer Exclusive Sport is emotion. Huge season for you, because you can surely make it back to the national side as an all-rounder. The 2025 IPL can open doors for the World Cup as well. Venkatesh Iyer: Yes, but I am not willing to put pressure on myself by thinking this. I take a lot of inspiration in seeing Varun [Chakaravarthy]. That he made it back to the national team is the result of all the hard work he has put in the last three years. If he can, I can. I know it. But as Shahrukh Sir once told me, we don’t often recognise the value of what we have now by thinking of what we want in the future.
At the moment, I want to well in the Ranji Trophy. Play and win as many games for MP as I can. I am not one for big runs or big wickets. Rather, I am one for impact. I want to have impact for the team and win as many matches as possible. Then, there is the auction and the kid in me is excitedly waiting for it to see which all teams want me and put up the paddle for me. So there is plenty there for me in the now, and I want to focus on all of this. If I do these well, the national team call-up will surely happen. Boria: Final question. In the last four years, you have seen it all – enormous success, failure, retention, IPL trophy win, getting dropped from the national team. An entire range, I have to say. How much have you evolved as a person basis all of this? Venkatesh Iyer: I have to say it has helped me hugely as a person. In 2021, I could do no wrong. Runs, wickets, one-handed catches – all happened to me. I felt it was all very doable. Then came the difficult period. Nothing was easy. I had to work the hardest to make it back again in 2024. Winning the IPL title takes the cake, and it meant I had seen it all. In all of this, you go through a range of emotions and that’s what helps you mature. Now I know I can deal with things. I won’t be flustered and I can handle any adversity. That’s what you learn in the process. UPT20 League: Despite Losing, Rinku Singh Team Tops the Table | IPL Captain's Team Exits | Playoff Scenarios
Also Read: Paras Mhambrey Read the full article

UP T20, Season 2: Clinical Kanpur Superstars Beat Noida Kings By Seven Wickets
BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium: A complete team performance by Kanpur Superstars earned them a seven-wicket victory over Noida Kings in Season 2 of the Uttar Pradesh (UP) T20 League at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium here. The bowlers did a good job to restrict Noida to 119 and the batters then overhauled the challenge clinically with 28 balls to spare. On winning the toss, Noida opted to bat first. The start by the openers was rather watchful as they kept working the strike over and did not hit boundaries. In the early phase, Vineet Panwar was particularly good for Kanpur as he bowled a wicket-maiden – dismissing Aditya Sharma in the fourth over. Mukesh Kumar was then introduced into the attack; he bowled a very economical spell and took the wickets of Mohammad Amaan and Nitish Rana. When Mukesh dismissed Rana in the ninth over, Noida were 34 for four. Run-scoring wasn’t an easy task. The first six of the matches came off the bat of Piyush Chawla, who walked in at 50 for five in the 12th over and lofted his second ball down the ground. Up until then, Noida had managed only two boundaries in their innings. It was due to the efforts of Chawla, who scored 19 and Mohammad Sharim that Noida got to 119 in their 20 overs. Sharim’s knock was critical as he was the most aggressive Noida batter on the day. The 20-ball 35 was worth its weight in gold under the circumstances. During his innings, he smashed one four and four sixes. When he walked out to bat in the 16th over, Noida were 68 for six. Sharim started off as he intended to go – smashing his first ball for six over mid-wicket off Aaqib Khan. Sharim stayed through to the end and was run out off the last ball of the innings in an attempt to pick a run. Mukesh was Kanpur’s most successful bowler but the others too chipped in with good performances. Ankur Malik bowled two overs and took a wicket, conceding only four runs. Mohsin Khan picked two for 27 and there was a wicket apiece for Panwar and Aaqib. Kanpur’s run-chase was off to a shaky start when Aashiyan Saifi was dismissed in the second over while trying to clear mid-wicket. Shoaib Siddiqui, the Kanpur wicketkeeper-batter, allayed any nerves his team may have had. With his attacking approach, he ensured the runs came at a quicker pace. He smashed the first two balls of the fourth over for fours to find some momentum. Kanpur brought up their fifty in the eighth over when Siddique hit two fours off Rana’s off-spin. Adarsh Singh gave Siddiqui good company by holding one end. The first six of Kanpur’s innings came in the 10th over when he hit Naman Tiwari over fine-leg for a six. At the halfway mark, Kanpur had moved to 65. Siddiqui followed that with his first six when he hit Sharim over mid-wicket soon after. The partnership ended when Adarsh edged one to point off Tiwary. The pair had added 76 in good time and put Kanpur on course. That brought Sameer Rizvi to the crease, who seemed to be in a hurry to finish the game. He started by smashing two fours of Piyush Chawla. When Tiwari came on to bowl the 14th over, Rizvi started with a four off the second ball. He then pulled the third over the leg-side for a six and followed it up with another maximum over fine-leg. The Rizvi charge continued as the target approached and the Kanpur captain put on an exhibition for the fans. With four needed to win, he tried to follow up a six with another off Kartik Yadav but was bowled. His innings of 33 came off only 16 balls with three fours and three sixes. Siddiqui finished the match with a four off Prashant Veer over long-on and got to his half-century Brief scores: The Rizvi charge continued as the target approached and the Kanpur captain put on an exhibition for the fans.
