Nithin Kantharaj Used Simple and Multiple Linear Regressions to Analyze the Success of a Movie
Nithin Kantharaj has completed his graduation from the University of Texas at Arlington and is currently working for a leading medical technology company. He is quite good at working with design and simulation tools like SIMU, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Unigraphics NX, and Catia. Nithin has also worked on a variety of projects over the years. In the year 2016, Nithin Kantharaj worked on a project related to simple and multiple linear regressions. The project was conducted to measure the parameters for the box office collection of a movie using the budget, director, actor, and the number of prequels as independent variables. He collected the data set required for the variables to further analyze the success of a movie. He conducted this analysis using SAS and MINITAB, to look for trends and further determine the variable for the success of the movie. Post analysis, he came to the conclusion that 88.59% of the model is explained by the variables actor and budget, which results in huge box office collection. Other than this, the other projects he has worked upon include failure mode effect analysis on Samsung components, quality analysis on Toyota 9 million recalls, economic analysis, time study on work performance, and design and fabrication of a drilling machine. Nithin Kantharaj is currently working as a Product Engineer, NPD (commercial side) for a leading medical technology company in New Jersey where he is responsible for troubleshooting and updating the tester as the requirements change for testing the sub-assemblies. Nithin Kantharaj Developed a Portable Drilling Machine at a Very Young Age
Nithin Kantharaj is a project engineer who takes care of the project related details, deadlines and talking to cross-functional teams to keep the project on track so the company can have them on time for production. He has bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering and industrial engineering respectively.
Nithin Kantharaj has always been a bright student and this can be concluded from the fact that he was successful in developing a portable drilling machine at a very young age. The machine focused on the hurdles faced in the drilling of thin metal sheets, thin foils, and paper. The project aimed at designing and fabricating a self-clamping drilling machine which would help in fully reducing, if not eliminating, such undesirable outcomes in the drilling process. The design and analysis of this project were conducted using Solid Edge, AutoCAD, CATIA respectively to check if the design could perform the operations without breakdown. The main considerations for the drill setup were stability, safety and accuracy and the next major focus was on the self-clamping mechanism, the main concern being a mechanism for automatic return of the clamp after drilling as well as clamping the work piece just before the drill bit approaches for drilling. The final fabricated model was further tested to ensure the major concerns are duly addressed and the drilling process is glitch-free. As a result of extreme dedication, the project was a success.
Nithin Kantharaj is currently working as a product engineer, NPD (commercial side). Before he became a full-time professional, he collected relevant experience through internships with firms like UT Southwestern Medical Center, Magod Laser Machining Pvt. Ltd., and Ultra Weld Engineers.
Nithin spends most of his free time playing video games and sports. He is quite fond of traveling too.
