OHMIGOD ITS FINALLY OUT!!! This took forever to do. Way longer than I expected. This is of course mainly due to my massive lack of self-discipline. Sorry to keep you guys waiting xD Anyways, Nirlock is An AU webcomic with the scope of merging the characters and ideas of Zootopia with the brilliant series Sherlock. It is NOT supposed to be a Sherlock remake with Zootopia-skins slapped onto the characters. What we want to do is imagine what Nick and Judy would be like if they were to take on the roles of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson! "How's your diet going?" This is my idea of Nirlock's older brother Mycroft. I tried to work in a few influences of Mark Gatiss with the way the neck and the snout are shaped. Sadly he won't make an appearance for quite a while... I just hope I'll get there someday xD Mycroft is one of my absolute favourite characters.

I stumbled upon your blog and am a little curious as too what exactly Nirlock is. Is it a comic or something? Your art is incredible by the way

Thank you!Nirlock is an AU comic combining Zootopia and its characters with BBC’s Sherlock. You can read this journal on deviantart for more info. Here’s what art I have done for it until now.Chapter 1 should be out soon, I am almost done. Keep an eye out for that! :3

Some screen studies and Nirlock ideas, mainly to test colors, and how quickly I can turn up with something appealing. I am rather satisfied with my pace.

More rainforest district. This one derived from a talk I had with TheWyvernsWeaver about how underrepresented we feel the rainforest district is in fanart. Then I had the idea of making it a location in Nirlock. This is where the idea for this came from: Includes Nirlock Wilde and Judy Hoppson on a pier.

Important note about Nirlock

The sketchpages I’ve been doing until now turned out rather cool (I got carried away :P), so the question I am posing now is if you want these when they’re done (which should be sooner rather than later) or in color but take much longer. Also a good pun xD But we decided for Nirlock because its the actual name of an actual character so we wanted it to be reminiscent of Nick in a way.
