I have some very well trusted sources that Nikki Bentley was very much indeed a last minute replacement for the West End cast change. They had really wanted Amy Ross to come over, but she said she was tired and wanted to take a break. They also asked one of the queens of Six, but they passed because they were having so much fun in Six and didn't want to leave. They then asked Alice Fearn to extend, but she denied and also asked Jodie Steele and Jacqueline Hughes, but both also denied.

I’m not sure how much of this is true, but I definitly could tell that Nikki wasn’t their first choice by how late they announced the cast change and the fact that she had announced several months prior that she was starring in the Priscilla, Queen of the Desert as one of the Diva’s.

Thoughts on the new Phantom cast and the new Wicked UK cast now that they’ve performed for the first time?

Well the new cast of Phantom in the UK doesn’t start until September however on the UK cast of Wicked are below the cut off.

Nikki Bentley- I mean okay. She’s not my favorite Elphaba and I personally thought she was the weakest of the 3 who performed on the 2nd UK Tour and I would have preferred some fresh blood.

Helen Woolf- I originally wasn’t a fan of her Glinda, but when she did the 2nd UK Tour things changed and I started to love her Glinda.

Alistair Brammer- I absolutely love him and I never knew I wanted him as Fiyero until he was announced.

Andy Hockley- He’s literally doing this show for his 3rd year now. So… #BuhBye

Kim Ismay- Not crazy about her Morrible. Still think they should have gotten Suzie McKenna.

Idriss Kargbo- Love his Boq, but am intrigued as to who his replacement will be. (Kinda hope it’s Jac Yarrow after Joseph ends.)

Natasha Ferguson- Kind of hoped for some fresh blood, but I think she’s a good Nessarose.

Carina Gillespie- Is SUPPOSED to rejoin as Nessa after she gives birth, but she said that last pregnancy and never returned… So let’s see if this return date sticks.

Simeon Truby- Haven’t heard anything from him and I’m gonna miss Chris Jarman dearly.

Laura Pick- GIRL LEAVE THIS ROLE ALREADY!!! YOU’VE BEEN HERE 2 YEARS TOO MANY!!! #BUHBYELAURAPICK!!!!

Lisa-Anne Wood- AGH!!!!!! WE STAN A CLASICALLY TRAINED SOPRANO AS GLINDA!!!! CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT SHE BRINGS TO THE ROLE!!!
