Suppose that one day Donald Trump posts on TruthSocial that he has assembled a task force of heavily armed USSOCOM operators in order to hunt down and kill a gang of notorious cryptids terrorizing America. The creatures are taken from a random conspiracy nut’s TikTok. Elon Musk promises free Cybertrucks to anyone that drops a dime on a cryptid hiding in their neighborhood. The fact that none of the cryptids are real is irrelevant. A CNN news host praises Trump for taking a “bold stand against the monsters haunting America.” The New York Times headline reads “Trump authorizes special forces mission against a mysterious new threat.” The entire thing predictably goes wrong quite quickly. Massive amounts of spurious tips flood in. A dog and then a random drifter get plugged by enthusiastic “volunteers” that want to beat the spec ops men to the punch. Memecoins for each cryptid soon emerge, betting markets speculate on when Delta Force is going to bag a particular cryptid, and so forth. Trump suddenly accuses Nigeria of hiding cryptids and demands they let in US military operators, who are actually there for other reasons. A pointless diplomatic crisis ensues. Many people that bet in some shape or form on the cryptids being captured or killed lose money and go broke. And then Trump forgets about the matter and moves on to another scam.

From the Asian perspective, would it be fair to say Alexander isn't as remembered there in comparison to the Western world because, to them, he was "just one of the many" of their conquerors?
(Somehow, I mixed up this answer to a different question; I'm surprised nobody commented, "What does your answer have to do with Leochares! LOL)
This is an interesting question in that the basic assumptions are faulty.
First, thanks to the Alexander Romance, Alexander would vie with Genghis Khan as possibly the most famous non-religious historical figure worldwide. That is not an exaggeration. There are legends of Alexander all over, some in places you’d never expect, such as among the Mali in sub-Saharan Africa, and the Malays in Southeast Asia.

(Alexander Questions the Philosopher, the Physician, and the Goblet, from the Kamseh of Nizami, Muhgal, India)
In a former answer to an Ask, I said that I thought Alexander would at once be annoyed that Julius Caesar was more famous/recognized in the Anglophone West (thanks in large part to Shakespeare), but assuaged by the fact he beat Caesar all to hell in the wider world. He seeped into all sorts of legends, not always by the name we’d recognize. The Persian Iskander is probably his most famous alternate, but in the Malay legends noted above, he’s Dhul-Qarnayn, from the Muslim Dhu Al-Qarnayn, the Two-Horned One. And he was the inspiration for other heroes, such as King Arthur.
He's EVERYwhere. Ha.

(Alexander at the Wall of Gog and Magog, from the Shahnameh of the Persian poet Ferdowsi)
Richard Stoneman (the world’s leading expert on the Alexander Romance) has edited a recent (2022) book on this topic: A History of Alexander the Great in World Culture, Cambridge U. Press.
The other problem with the question, which the asker may not realize, is a seeming assumption that in contrast to the west, Asia was constantly being invaded and conquered. That also is wrong. There have been many, many conquerors in the West, too. How about Rome? She conquered all her neighbors, west and east, many of whom saw her as an unwelcome outsider and fought back, such as Vercingetorix or Boudica. Similarly in Asia, with the Chinese and their neighbors, or the Turks in Persia. Most Asian conquerors have been…Asian. Most European conquerors have been…European. Most African conquerors have been…African (Musa I of Mali, Queen Amina of Nigeria, or Shaka Zulu, for instance). 😊
What’s really afoot here is a deeply embedded leftover of Roman anti-Asian bias. “Asians” are weak and easily conquered compared to Westerners/Romans, who are strong and love their freedom. That passed into European thought during the Renaissance, fueling a lot of Colonialist ideas and behavior. We (the West) must save the poor benighted souls in the East, both religiously (Christianize them from Islam or their “native” [inferior] beliefs) and culturally (make them dress, talk, and think like Europeans).
This same attitude in reverse was part of first Abbasid, and later Ottoman thinking. 😊 To be fair, when the Abbasids were looking West, Europe was in a pretty sad state. But the much earlier Achaemenid Persians also found the Greeks uncivilized. The Other is frequently seen so by those who use their own measuring stick of what-is-civilization. And one of the ways the Other is “othered” involves portraying them as weak, chaotic, and ripe for conquest and/or frequently conquered in the past—as opposed to “us,” who are strong and the conquerors.
Again, this point of view is so deeply embedded that we may express it without realizing it or even believing it ourselves when pressed. Yet the narrative of the West as “free” versus the East (Asia) as “slavish” is also quite popular with the alt-right crowd—so I try to call it out when it rears its head, however innocently. And I do assume the asker meant it innocently, as most often when someone does make those assumptions, it’s because they heard it somewhere else and don’t have the historical context to recognize the inherent bias.
So I point out that bias.

The compliments start flowing as soon as she answers the video call. “Wow, you so pretty, honey,” says the man on the other side of the screen. His video feed shows he’s white, with short hair, likely a few years younger than her, and is sitting in front of his camera wearing a plaid shirt.
“You’re looking different with that beard and stuff gone,” the woman says in an American accent as the conversation gets going. The man doesn’t miss a beat. “I told you I was going to shave my beard so I will look good.”
Except, he isn’t who he claims to be. His videofeed is a lie. And—beard or not—the face the woman can see over the video call is not his: It’s a deepfake.
In reality, the man is a scammer using face-swapping technology to totally change his appearance in real time. In a video of the call—filmed by the scammer’s accomplice likely thousands of miles away from the woman—his real face can be seen on this laptop alongside the fake persona as he speaks to his victim.
This self-shot video is one of scores posted online by scammers known as Yahoo Boys, a loose collective of con artists, often based in Nigeria. The video reveals how they are using deepfakes and face-swapping to ensnare victims in romance scams, building trust with victims using fake identities, before tricking them into parting with thousands of dollars. More than $650 million was lost to romance fraud last year, the FBI says.
The Yahoo Boys have been experimenting with deepfake video clips for around two years and shifted to more real-time deepfake video calls over the last year, says David Maimon, a professor at Georgia State University and the head of fraud insights at identity verification firm SentiLink. Maimon has monitored the Yahoo Boys on Telegram for more than four years and shared dozens of videos with WIRED revealing how the scammers are using deepfakes.
A WIRED review of the videos and three associated Yahoo Boy Telegram channels shows how the con artists’ techniques have evolved as deepfake applications and artificial intelligence have improved. It is one of the first times the specific tactics and outlandish techniques of scammers using deepfake video calls has been documented in this detail.
The videos show Yahoo Boys using the technology on setups involving both laptops and phones. In multiple videos, the scammers often brazenly show their own faces, as well as those of the victims they are scamming. “I don't think they're doing this because they’re stupid,” Maimon says. “I think that they simply don’t care, and they’re not afraid of the repercussions.”
The Yahoo Boys are experienced scammers—and they openly brag about it. Photos and videos of their conning and recruitment can be found all across social media, from Facebook to TikTok. However, the cybercriminals, who have links back to Nigerian prince email scams, are arguably their most open on Telegram.
In groups containing thousands of members, Yahoo Boys organize and advertise their individual skills for a smorgasbord of scams. They’re skilled social manipulators, who can have long-lasting impacts on their victims. Business email compromise, crypto scams, and impersonation scams are all touted in hundreds of posts per day. Members claim to be selling photo and video editing skills and entire albums of explicit photographs that can be used to build a convincing persona. Fake IDs and legitimate-looking social media profiles are for sale. Scam “scripts” are free to download.
“The Yahoo Boys have elements of organized crime and disorganized crime,” says Paul Raffile, an intelligence analyst at the Network Contagion Research Institute, who has investigated Yahoo Boys sextorting teenagers and driving them towards suicide. “They don't have a leader, they don’t have a governance structure.” Rather, Raffile says, they organize in clusters and share advice and tips online. Telegram did not respond to WIRED’s request for comment about Yahoo Boys’ channels, but the three channels no longer appear to be accessible.
The digital con artists started using deepfakes as part of their romance scams around May 2022, says Maimon. “What folks were doing was just posting videos of themselves, changing their appearance, and then sending them to the victim—trying to lure them to talk to them,” he says. Since then, they’ve moved on.
To create their videos, the Yahoo Boys are using a handful of different software and apps. WIRED is not naming the specific software, to limit people’s ability to copy the attacks. However, the tools they are using are often advertised for entertainment purposes, such as allowing people to swap their faces with celebrities or influencers.

Since its the January transfer window, i'll be talking about players that i would love to see at Arsenal!
Obviously, with the registered players being at the max, it's not realistic for new signings to come in this window. So these are players that i think will massively improve our squad in the summer especially if we do want to make it far in the uwcl and win the wsl!
Also, i would like to make another post about players that i will not be opposed to leaving in the summer to get better players in 🤔 but idt yall are ready for that conversation yet
1) Maëlle Lakrar

Amazing young defender, very attacking minded, fits in the playstyle of how jonas wants our defenders to be
Hard worker, loves to get interceptions in, 1v1 duels to win the ball back (i love defenders like this)
Tactically intelligent, able to get into good positions to intercept players and loves to progress the ball forward to quickly transition into attack
At 170cm, she handles aerial duels well and can be used as a threat in set pieces
Quite pacey and can handle speedy forwards when in transition
A lot of big clubs have already started enquiring about her as her contract ends in 2024, would be a shame if Arsenal lose her to a big rival.
2) Sakina Karchaoui

One of the best left-footed fullbacks in the world right now, very attacking minded defender, which again is how jonas loves our defenders to be
Only 160cm but what she lacks in height, she makes up for in work ethic, loves to be higher up the pitch to get involved in attacks but tracks back well to defend when caught in transition
Loves to get interceptions in, 1v1 duels to win the ball back, often both having a high rate of success
Same as Maëlle, her contract ends in 2024 and the opportunity to get a worldclass fullback on a free should not be missed. She will be a massive upgrade on Arsenal's left-back position.
3) Chiamaka Nnadozie

Goalkeepers are a harder one to judge because you cannot rely on stats, so this analysis is based on eye tests
At 23 years old, one of the best young goalkeepers in the world right now
180cm, an excellent height for a gk
Had an amazing WWC23 run as a starter for Nigeria
Currently, also having an amazing uwcl run with Paris FC
Very impressive aerial abilities for a young keeper (imo can be considered worldclass)
Great outside the box, able to play out from the back effectively
Although at times her decision making can be better, but with the right coaching, she's on her way to be a worldclass gk
Amazing gk for both Paric FC and Nigeria at only 23 years old, why not snatch her up? (if you can't beat her, buy her)
4) Angel Mukasa

21 years old, still needs more experience but at her age, shes phenomenal
No data on her height but from eye tests, probably around 170-180cm
Excellent shot-stopping
Great positioning, never caught out of focus
Her distribution is a stand out trait, amazing at her age
Great composure, doesn't make rash decisions in stress
In the uwcl against barca femení, if it weren't for her, FC Rosengård would've conceded more than 7 goals, she was phenomenal in that game
Not my choice for a starting keeper but would be an excellent 2nd keeper until she gains enough experience to be 1st choice
5) Kerolin Nicoli

NWSL MVP 2023, NWSL Best XI First Team 2023, Runner up for NWSL Golden Boot 2023 (what more can i say 🤷🏽♀️ she's a baller)
Lethal in the attacking third, loves 1v1 duels, excellent dribbling
Unselfish player, will pass to a teammate if needed but also loves taking shots at goal too
Right-footed player but is excellent at the left
Versatile player, can play on the left and right (as a winger or midfielder), up top but also as a CM
Not much else to say except that she will be lethal in Arsenal's left hand side. Just imagine Karchaoui, McCabe and Kerolin on our left 😮💨
Other players that i will love at Arsenal but too unrealistic:
Naomi Girma
Merle Frohms
Misa Rodriguez
Stina Johannes
Antônia Silva
Jule Brand
Morgan Weaver
Ary Borges
Anyways, if you've actually read the whole thing, thanks! I'm quite disappointed with the lack of movements in this window so i've decided to write it here.
Do you agree with this list? Any other players that you will like to see at Arsenal as well? Lemme know i would love to here you thoughts! (pls refrain from hateful words, if you don't like this list at all. criticism is fine but keep it civil)

BNXN IS REACHING FOR THE STARS

Can anyone tell at what exact point Bnxn became a household name in Nigerian music? Formerly known as Buju To Your Ears, or Buju, the silk-tongued serenader has made such a natural progression in the industry in the last four years that we haven't had time to track his progression. It seems now so long ago since he was the young twitter artist repeatedly begging for a verse from rapper Zlatan for an upcoming song. When that feature eventually came through, on 2019's "Spiritual", it became the catapult that pushed a niche artist into local popularity.
But it wasn't until he partnered with Burna Boy, the self-styled African Giant, that he could be described as a mainstream Nigerian artiste. The two teamed up on the remix of BNXN's 2019 single, "L'enu", where Bnxn was assured and daring, swimming in the confidence of his own ability, even though he was still in the lower rungs of Nigerian music ladder—"Tell me what I cannot do" he boasts on the chorus over Steph's spunky beat. The African Giant's verse came later, and by the end, the song's message was passed across, its theme unmissable: these men are gutsy in their own abilities and they intend to approach the next stages of their careers with an unwavering confidence. It was therefore no surprise that Burna Boy immediately signed Bnxn to his own label, spaceship records.
After a single song released under the label, "So Lovely" in late 2020, Buju parted with spaceship records after a year, choosing not to renew his contract. But his upward trajectory remained unhalted. In mid 2021 he was called up by Ladipoe for "Feeling", where Buju was charged with providing a sunny, falsetto-infused backdrop to the rapper's faster-paced hip-hop verses. It is a tried and true formula, and Bnxn's execution is near-flawless. His chorus, a depiction of a guy unbothered by stress and basking in a worry-free reality, rang from the lips of Nigerian youth as the unofficial song of the summer of 2021.
On "Outside", released in mid-2021, the crooner chose this time to delve into his work ethic and commitment to his craft as he sang about how he prioritises the work of creating new music over fun-seeking outings. He also took a moment to dwell briefly on his journey here, on the first verse, "Omo in the first stage, I made mistakes I swear". The slower pace and gentler tone of the song were evidently well appreciated, as "Outside" was a fixture on the top 10 of the different Nigerian streaming charts for weeks to come.
In late 2021, it was time for a debut EP, which Bnxn named Sorry I'm Late, with its title acknowledging his delay in releasing a debut project, which was indeed strange for a time when rising acts capitalise on their growing popularity by releasing an EP. What came as no shock, however, was the high level of confidence and talent on display. By naming the opener after himself, BNXN made a statement of self-assuredness and revealed an intent to make his mark on the music world. Lines like "You know my sound is on fire/ You know my melody on fire" may read as unnecessary braggadocio to a new listener, but day 1 fans are well acquainted with the dexterity of his songwriting and quality of his delivery—his melody really is on fire. The EP was altogether a resounding success and represented another milestone passed in the young singer's career.
While Sorry I'm Late cemented his place in Nigeria's mainstream, it was two features that arrived on both sides of it that brought the most momentum to his international career. First was "Mood", on Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated Made In Lagos, where the two produced a flawless collaboration, taking turns to glide on P2J's mellow percussion. Its mellow groove and slinky vocal duet drew parallels with "Essence", the Tems-featuring smash from the standard version of Made In Lagos, and while it didn't quit achieve those chart-topping heights, it became Bnxn's biggest international effort. That was until "Finesse", where Bnxn starred beside music producer turned music star, Pheelz, for the track that proved transcendental to their individual careers, establishing Pheelz's new status as an artist and providing thrust to Bnxn's international flight.
The song initially made waves as a viral tiktok snippet was eventually released in mid-March following a massive clamour from fans, and it wasted no time climbing up the charts, peaking at no 1 on the UK's official Afrobeats charts, with appearances on UK official charts proper and the novel Billboard Afrobeats chart. It was released barely two weeks after Buju officially became Bnxn, so it was an exquisite way of stamping his new identity. Another collaboration later in the year, this time with UK based producer JAE5 and rapper Dave for "Propeller", helped strengthen inroads to the UK scene.
As these songs pushed Bnxn's international profile, his position at home was similarly growing. In May 2022, the Headies, Nigeria's premier music award, announced its nominees for the year's honours and Bnxn got a nomination for the Next Rated category, awarded to the emerging artist who shows the biggest potential to place amongst Nigeria's biggest acts in the near future. Bnxn received a nod after the amazing year he had, but he was placed alongside Ayra Starr, Ruger, Lojay and Zinoleesky, all of whom had made excellent use of the year under review. With the Headies announcing that the winner would emerge with a brand new Bentley Bentayga, it added fuel to what was already a heated competition.
Bnxn would eventually emerge the winner of this tight contest, and a week before the ceremony, he provided even more proof of why no one was more deserving. This came in his second studio EP, Bad Since '97. Here Bnxn built on the themes of his debut—his unwavering belief in himself and his music talent—with his writing and exquisite vocal delivery once more providing both the vehicle and for this substantiation of his self-confidence.
On his latest album, Sincerely, Benson, released earlier this month, Bnxn reiterated all of this self-belief, fulfilling the promise he has displayed all of his career. On the 15-track LP, Bnxn chronicles love and heartbreak, but approaches this subject from a mature, not often seen perspective: as the man making a sincere apology to the woman he loved and hurt. Songs like "Pidgin And English", "Regret", "Sweet Tea" and "Realize" tie into this narrative, yet Bnxn finds room for his characteristic cockiness: his very first words on the album are "Leave am for me/ Emi lokan", warding off the competition and propping himself up as a maestro in the music space.
As Bnxn continues to soar, old promises of potential become fulfilled even as he forebodes more to come. His next goal would be to establish his name indelibly in international markets, but If his four years in the industry thus far have shown us anything, it is that the next step always comes just as surely as the last for Bnxn.

Black Market Brass - Hox - the heaviest Afrobeat band around (with the possible exception of The Budos Band)
Black Market Brass is proud to present Hox, due out on Colemine Records on September 8, 2023. Their third LP is a new take on afrobeat that combines traditional grooves with heavy, hypnotic, sci-fi sounds that reflect the band’s myriad of influences as record collectors across genres. “We didn’t leave the traditional afro-beat sound behind, but we did allow ourselves to pull from different places with less hesitation.” Shared saxophonist Cole Pulice. Like their previous albums, the 9-piece band recorded Hox live to tape. “The sound and aesthetic of the analog recording process is important for this kind of music,” Pulice explained. “We’re looking to capture lightning in a bottle.” With that, the album features several sections of heavily processed synthesizers, harsh glitches, fuzzed out guitars, and a burning percussion section that pays homage to the traditional drumming cultures of Nigeria and Ghana. The performances are dynamic and confident. The grooves are infectious and hypnotic. BMB has pushed further into musical experimentalism, but at the end of the day, they’re still making dance music. Krautrock, free-jazz, doom metal – the inspirations for Hox stem from all kinds of musical backgrounds, but the sound is far from scattered. It’s a polished, innovative record that’s sure to exceed expectations and keep the listener engaged from start to finish.

BUILD A RESILIENT REAL ESTATE BUSINESS IN NIGERIA EVEN IN THE TOUGHEST TIMES – HERE’S HOW
The real estate market can be unpredictable, with cycles of growth and downturns that challenge even the most experienced realtors. Whether you’re dealing with economic shifts, political instability, or global crises like the pandemic, building a resilient real estate business is key to weathering the storm. Especially in Nigeria’s real estate market, where conditions can change quickly, having a strategic approach can help you adapt, thrive, and maintain your success.
Here are some practical steps to help you build a resilient business in tough times.
1. Adapt to Market Changes with Flexibility
The real estate market is dynamic, and understanding that change is inevitable is the first step toward resilience. Being able to adapt quickly is crucial. By staying informed on market trends, you can adjust your strategies accordingly, be it offering more affordable properties, focusing on rental markets, or targeting a different buyer demographic.
Flexibility also means being open to using technology to your advantage. Virtual tours, digital marketing, and automated CRM systems can help you keep your business running smoothly during uncertain times. By embracing these tools, you can continue to engage with buyers and sellers without missing a beat.
2. Diversify Your Portfolio
One of the best ways to make your real estate business more resilient is by diversifying your portfolio. Instead of focusing on a single type of property or client, consider broadening your offerings. Diversification can take many forms:
Residential: If you're focused on high-end residential properties, explore more affordable options or rental markets.
Commercial: Tap into the commercial real estate market, especially if businesses in your area are growing or relocating.
Land: Raw land or development opportunities offer long-term value and can be more affordable to purchase and hold.
By balancing your portfolio, you minimize risk and position your business to take advantage of different opportunities as the market fluctuates.
3. Strengthen Client Relationships
In tough times, maintaining strong relationships with your clients is essential. By providing excellent service, offering personalized advice, and staying connected, you build loyalty and trust, which can help you secure repeat business even during slower periods.
You can also create a network of local clients, such as builders, investors, and contractors, to ensure you have multiple streams of income and resources to rely on. Word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied clients are invaluable in helping your business stay afloat during uncertain times.
4. Maintain a Strong Online Presence
With the world becoming increasingly digital, having a robust online presence is more important than ever. Make sure you have an engaging, consistent digital strategy on social media, your website, or property listing platforms,
Use platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to share updates, market insights, and new listings. Invest time in creating content that adds value, such as market trends, tips for buyers and sellers, or success stories. An active and visible presence keeps you top-of-mind when potential clients are ready to make a move.
5. Invest in Marketing and Lead Generation
Even when times are tough, it's essential to keep investing in marketing. Instead of cutting back on marketing budgets, find creative, cost-effective ways to generate leads. Utilize email campaigns, social media ads, and even organic search (SEO) to increase your visibility.
Consider running promotions or creating special offers for your clients to drive interest. Offering value, such as free consultations, property evaluations, or virtual tours, can keep the leads coming in, especially when traditional selling methods are slow.
6. Leverage Data and Analytics
A resilient real estate business thrives on data. Use analytics to track market trends, buyer behavior, and your sales performance. Tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and CRM platforms can help you gain valuable insights into where your leads are coming from, which properties are generating the most interest, and what strategies are working best.
This data allows you to make informed decisions, refine your marketing efforts, and adjust your approach. For example, if you notice a rise in interest for affordable housing in a specific area, you can adjust your focus to meet that demand.

Post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD], mental health condition triggered by failure to recover from terrifying events by the virtue of having experienced or watch such event happened. While other countries, particularly the western world have mechanism in place to facilitate the healing process, in Africa there are massively low efforts to help the victims of PTSD, and very often it escalates to life threatening sickness, having been comatose by those events which cause such person to have post-traumatic stress disorder, this health conditions can last as long there is no help from a medical professional to administer the cure, and required medical diagnosis to work with the results.
In Nigeria, according to College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, more than 1.5 million cases recorded per year, these numbers are enough to disrupt a healthy society, excluding large part of the population who don’t even know what they are suffering. Post-traumatic stress disorder is serious mental health condition that comes with intense, disturbing thoughts and feelings related to their experience that last long after the traumatic event has ended, this can come through flashbacks and nightmares which can trigger sadness, anger and fear resulting from the reoccurring the events which have inflicted them mental scar, anybody can be a victim, but mostly soldiers, abusive relationships and loss of loved ones are the core events which very often trigger PTSD.
In Africa, countries need to establish PTSD Centre to help victims with the sickness, through the professional service of medical practitioner, which can come in a way of counselling and medication. Soldiers coming out of war zones having experienced terrifying events, for years can go on and live with big burdens which they will find it difficult to interpret to anyone, very often they form that thoughts of fear which can unsafely put their mental condition in jeopardize, abusive relationships pose a big threat to mental health those awful moments of beating and inflicting bruises when reoccurred in the mind of the victim will leave such victim into fear and creating delusional thoughts due to PTSD, loss of loved ones are always hard to deal especially a family that loss a member from childbearing severing the mother and the baby into two different worlds.
Post-traumatic stress disorder is in extreme emergency, it needs urgent attention in Africa, victims need to be rehabilitated into the society again to live like any other person without fear, sadness and anger resulting from horrible events which keep their minds running from pillar to post, this is a big call to create awareness for the victims through that healthy society can be promulgated, PTSD has been a neglected mental illness, it gives people the sense to talk about these events with confidence and confining on medical practitioner with openness to heal.
Counselling takes a lot of strength in cure of post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD]. Maryna Manyevska, skilled at identifying patients who have engaged in combat in Ukraine close to a decade, provides with counselling on how to deal with such ugly experiencing after losing her son in a battleground. Speaking to Al Jazeera, on course of doing her work, she estimated that more than fifty percent of people with post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD] have addiction issues and often show uncontrollable aggression.
Maryna, a psychologist at the Lviv Centre for the Provision of Services to Combatants in western Ukraine, offers free legal, psychological and social support to soldiers and their families. She has observed that those with this mental illness have properly seen themselves as having earned right to be angry, they believed to have seen something nobody has actually seen. The big issue that arises from this outcome is how to live with PTSD patients, when men come home from war feeling elated, forgetting other responsibilities to look after at home, this form of distress that results from sharing in the aftermath of another person’s trauma, there uneasiness in such person mental and social wellbeing, and they end up suffering secondary post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD].

For Broken Ears- Tems
Tems is an artist born in Nigeria who only in this decade has won 5 BET awards, 3 African Music Awards, 1 Grammy, 2 IHeart Radio’s Music Choice Awards, has been nominated for an Oscars, Golden Globe, and several MTV awards all in four years. How did this Lagos-based artist take over the American music scene, though? When you listen to the passion and emotion in her debut EP, For Broken Ears. Released on September 25th (my birthday, so you know it's good), her music is meant to be felt in anyone's heart and to heal in anyone's soul. The title, For Broken Ears, is intended to reset anyone's mind and clean it like a musical baptism.
We start off the EP with Interference, a song that showcases the full range of Tems' vocal abilities. Her beautiful, touching vocals and heavenly melodies set this song apart from most Afro beats, even without the traditional drums. The gorgeous piano, reminiscent of a harp at Heaven Gate, combined with Tems' soothing vocals, leaves you eagerly anticipating what's next.
The next song off the EP is Ice T. This is actually one of Tems' oldest songs, produced while she was at University in South Africa. It harks back to the classic afrobeat sound, with a simple yet satisfying synth and a bouncy beat, all perfectly complemented by Tems' voice. The song, originally a freestyle, is a relaxing, carefree tune that eases away stress and soothes the mind.
The third and arguably most important song on this project is Free Mind. Peaking at 46 on the Billboard Hot 100, this platinum song pushed Tems into stardom. The groovy beat and jumpy drums also add the touching vocals and lyricism Tems is known for. This song is a combination of Ice T and Interference. Talking about her struggles and fighting for her life, whether in life or her head, she talks about needing a space to heal. The price of peace of mind is too expensive for any dollar.
The next song is an interlude Témìládè Interlude. The person speaking in this is unconfirmed by Tems, but some may believe it is her mother. I believe it is her agent or just someone at a record label company. I think this because it is known her mother greatly disapproved of Tems’s music career, so it's unlikely that she would be a big supporter early on. More likely some agent trying to get her signed in Lagos. Regardless this interlude is another story of her overcoming her challenges.
Higher is my personal favorite song on this album. A song that hit Gold and was actually used by Future in his now second-most-popular song WAIT FOR U, this song awarded her first number-one on the Billboard Hot 100. Just like Free Mind, which has a unique mix of Afro beats, she blesses this song with her singing. This song is about healing from a broken relationship and connecting yourself back with your peace and more specifically to her, God. This song lets you and reminds you of which is more important, your health or the health of others. The lyrics are not meant to be listened to but to be sung along with.
Damages her sixth song is going all the way back to its afro roots with a Wiz-Kid/Rema/Koffee beat. This song is a celebration song of successful healing. This song speaks about how she overcame her challenges and her escape from a toxic relationship. Now instead of celebrating by partying, she is celebrating but doing what she loves and by getting her life on the right track. This song is a commemoration.
Last but not least, The Key. With the gracious whistles, classic afro drums, and Tems's unique voice this creates a very appealing and heartwarming ending to the album. This song is a reflection. Seeing where she has come from but, more importantly, seeing how many people were in the same situation as her. This song is a religious blessing, telling us to pick and keep ourselves up. Giving us a blueprint and telling us that the key to changing our situation is within us and to never be afraid to ask for help.
All in all, the album's themes of rebirth, baptism, and struggle and the progression are clear, and I hope this analysis made it even more apparent. This album has moved the hearts and minds of many and has been an inspiration for many more, and this album put you among that group.

In relation to the Zhongshan conflict, a US court makes grave accusations against the Nigerian police and Ogun government

Serious charges alleging violations of human rights against officials of Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Co. Limited have been brought against the Nigerian police and the government of Ogun State by a U.S. court. According to court records, the executives were beaten, refused food and drink, and taken into custody at gunpoint. Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Ltd. (Appellee) v. Federal Republic of Nigeria (Appellant) US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit released these conclusions. The case was determined on August 9, 2024, after it was debated on April 22, 2024. Court records also show that threats were made against Chinese company leaders. The issue has to do with the dispute surrounding the foreign seizure of Nigeria's presidential aircraft. According to Judge Millett's court ruling, these incidents took place when Ogun State attempted to end its agreements with Zhongshan over the creation of a free trade zone within the state. Zhongshan's parent firm was hired by the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone firm in 2010 to create an industrial park inside the free trade zone. Tenants would be able to use the factories that Zhongshan's parent firm developed and constructed in the park. But in the first half of 2016, Ogun State called off their contracts with Zhongshan, claiming that Zhongshan had deceived Ogun and that another Chinese business should have been awarded Zhongshan's portion of the free trade zone. According to court records, “As tensions escalated, an Ogun official texted a Zhongshan executive advising him to ‘leave peacefully’ to avoid ‘forceful removal, complications, and possible prosecution.’” Following that, Ogun issued arrest warrants for two executives from Zhongshan, alleging "criminal breach of trust." Nigerian federal police detained one executive for 10 days, beating him, depriving him of food and water, and questioning him about the location of the other executive. The arrest took place at gunpoint. The state's earlier negotiations with Zhongshan were overturned, according to Ogun State's Special Advisor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, who made this announcement on Thursday. According to Akinmade, Ogun State was notified that Zhongshan had temporarily attached three government-owned aircraft in Nigeria to its property in France. This action was taken in response to two court orders from Paris dated March 7, 2024, and August 12, 2024, which were obtained without informing Ogun State, the Federal Government of Nigeria, or their legal representatives. He said that none of Zhongshan's attempts to seize assets owned by Nigerians overseas had succeeded in recouping money from Nigeria. He continued by saying that the airplanes in question are exempt from attachment under French and international law because they are only used for sovereign reasons. Read the full article
