Been having a lot of fun with my weird little nicheknights team. Decided to get a clear of IS2 with it! It's a remarkably different experience playing the Integrated Strategies modes with only 11 operators allowed to be recruited.

After I am done upgrading my core 6 stars I am debating whether to start working towards building my free operators or my below 6 star guards. Cause I kinda wanna try some nicheknights stuff, but limited resources so wanna focus in on one niche for now. And im debating between no 6 stars guardknights or freeknights. Either way its an Amiya niche, I got too few cautus for rabbitknights, and I had originally intended a "Rhodes Elite" niche buuuut unfortunately without Rosmontis or W it feels a bit hard to do, and I cant get those for months probably. Also for artistknights id want Rosmontis too for Amiya´s artist.... but I do have all the other ones built except Purestream, who is a 4 star and cheap to build of course. So that is for down the line.

you gotta be careful about what people say about arknights operators viability sometimes because while what they say may be technically correct that doesn’t mean the operator they have issue with (or even skill they have issue with) does not still have broad value

like I heard a lot of complaints about ch’en s3 when I started but even if it is mixed damage that has not aged well it still drops an extremely large amount of damage on a single target and can be reloaded

frankly a big part of my issues with nicheknights is that I rely on ch’en s3 to kill bosses quite a bit so if ch’en ain’t around I am left scratching my head

Honestly i loved the icebreaker games but if there was one thing i would change it would be to add a way to somehow filter for nicheknights players because between the slog of walters, ineses, eyja alters and typhons the most fun i had was the one time i (a liberiknights player) matched with an iberiaknights player and let me tell you we were waiting for elysiums skill and passing around dp like cavemen cooking food around the fire

Finally figured out an arknights nicheknights setup I actually want to use

I'm calling it "Dolls & Dolls."

The criteria for it is that an operator must have one or more of:

Is a Dollkeeper Specialist (which replace themselves with an aoe-damaging duplicate upon death, then return after a short time; Bena, Iana, Kazemaru, Verdant, Specter the Unchained):

Has a version in the game that behaves like a Dollkeeper Specialist (Skadi the Corrupting Heart, whose boss fight variant has an identical back-and-forth-and-becomes-a-less-dangerous-double-after-being-'killed' dynamic to dollkeepers)

Summons a double of themselves in-game (Muelsyse and Phantom, who have water clones and shadow clones, respectively)

Leaves behind a tangible, aoe-affecting unit after death, which disappears upon return to the battlefield (Ines, whose shadow spike is that; I am limited to use of her S3 as that's the one focused on using her like a 'dollkeeper' and the one that gives the shadow spike aoe damage)

Transforms back and forth into another form during combat that changes one's attack range and method into "one tile in all directions aoe" (Luo Xiaohei, who must be using his S1 for these purposes)

Keeps a doll (Shamare, self-explanatory)
