The History of Charity Organizations in Pakistan: A Timeline
Charity organizations have been a cornerstone of Pakistan's social welfare system, contributing significantly to the country's development. From the early years post-independence to the modern era, these organizations have addressed critical needs and fostered community growth. This article provides a detailed timeline of the evolution of charity organizations in Pakistan, highlighting their contributions and impact.
1947-1960: The Birth of a Nation and Early Philanthropic Efforts
Post-Independence Relief Efforts
The partition of India in 1947 resulted in mass migrations, violence, and displacement, necessitating immediate relief efforts. In response, several charity organizations were established to provide essential services. The All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA), founded in 1949 by Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan, was among the first to focus on women and children's welfare. APWA provided critical healthcare, education, and vocational training to women affected by the partition.
Establishment of the Edhi Foundation
In 1951, Abdul Sattar Edhi founded the Edhi Foundation, starting with a small dispensary. Over time, it grew into Pakistan's largest charity organization, offering a wide range of services, including ambulances, orphanages, and shelters for the homeless. The Edhi Foundation became a symbol of selfless service, setting a standard for future philanthropic endeavors in Pakistan.
1960-1980: Expansion and Institutionalization of Charity Work
Growth of Health and Education Initiatives
The 1960s and 1970s saw significant growth in charity work, with a focus on health and education. The Aga Khan Foundation, established in 1967, played a vital role in improving healthcare and education across Pakistan. The foundation's initiatives in rural development and healthcare set a precedent for structured and institutionalized philanthropy.
The Role of Religious Organizations
During this period, religious organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami and Tableeghi Jamaat expanded their charitable activities, especially in rural areas. These organizations established schools, clinics, and vocational centers, extending the reach of charity work throughout the country.
Launch of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust
In 1985, Imran Khan launched the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust in memory of his mother. The trust focused on providing free cancer treatment to the underprivileged, culminating in the establishment of Pakistan's first cancer hospital in Lahore in 1994. This initiative marked a major milestone in healthcare philanthropy in Pakistan.
1980-2000: A Period of Consolidation and Growth
Zakat and the Role of Government
The 1980s brought the Zakat Ordinance, introduced under General Zia-ul-Haq, which mandated Zakat deductions from savings accounts to support the poor and needy. While this system aimed to institutionalize charity, it sparked debates about the efficiency of state-controlled charity versus independent organizations.
Formation of the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy
In 2001, the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) was established to enhance the effectiveness of philanthropy in the country. The PCP focused on capacity building for non-profit organizations, promoting transparency, and fostering corporate philanthropy as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The Role of International NGOs
During this time, international NGOs such as Save the Children, CARE International, and Oxfam became increasingly active in Pakistan. These organizations worked on disaster relief, education, and women's rights, contributing significantly to the growth of the charity sector in Pakistan.
Present: The Modern Era of Charity and Philanthropy
Shifa Foundation's Contribution to Health and Social Services
Shifa Foundation has been a leading force in Pakistan's humanitarian landscape for over three decades. With a focus on healthcare, environmental initiatives, water and sanitation projects, disaster response, and educational volunteer programs, Shifa Foundation has positively impacted the lives of over 8 million people across Pakistan. Their work in providing essential services has been instrumental in improving the quality of life for countless individuals.
Rise of Technology-Driven Philanthropy
The internet and social media have transformed charity organizations in Pakistan. Platforms like Aurat Foundation, Saylani Welfare International Trust, and Akhuwat use technology to reach broader audiences and raise funds efficiently. Online donations, crowdfunding, and social media campaigns have increased donations and volunteer participation.
Impact of Natural Disasters
Natural disasters such as the 2005 earthquake and the 2010 floods underscored the importance of charity organizations in disaster response and recovery. The Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Al-Khidmat Foundation, and Edhi Foundation played critical roles in providing relief and rehabilitation to affected communities.
Focus on Sustainable Development
In recent years, there has been a growing focus on sustainable development in the charity sector. Organizations like the Citizen's Foundation (TCF), which operates a vast network of schools for underprivileged children, are leading the way in providing long-term solutions to poverty, education, and healthcare.
The Future of Charity Organizations in Pakistan
The future of charity organizations in Pakistan is bright, with increasing emphasis on innovation, transparency, and collaboration. As the sector evolves, partnerships between the government, private sector, and non-profits will be crucial in addressing the country's challenges. The use of technology and a focus on sustainable development will continue to drive the impact of charity organizations.

Empowering Children through Education: Shikshalaya’s Impact
Every child must have access to a good education. No one can overstate the importance of education in a child’s life. It is the cornerstone to bring positive changes in the lives of the young generation. Education gives a child the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. A child must get a high-quality education to break the negative barriers hindering their mental growth and development. Unfortunately, many children in India may not have the opportunity to get a good education. Shikshalaya, started by the Sai Ashray Trust in Jaipur, aims to provide high-quality education to underprivileged children to help them explore the limitless possibilities for a better future. Shikshalaya tries to instill critical thinking and make the children self-sufficient to shape a bright future. How can Shikshalaya make a difference in a child’s life? Here are some ways.
Boost Critical Thinking
Shikshalaya promotes critical thinking in children. It will help them evaluate, analyze, and solve problems without help from others. It can make a child gain skills to make informed decisions in their life. Critical thinking can also make a child independent. They can navigate the challenges and complexities of life.
Promote Cognitive Development
Shikshalaya tries to shape the minds of young children. Starting education at a young age can play a vital role in cognitive development. Shikshalaya has a structured learning environment to promote cognitive abilities in young children. The education structure promotes better memory, language proficiency, and problem-solving skills. It will lay a good foundation for overall personality development and future academic success.
Reduce Child Labour
Child labour is one of the evils in Indian society. People from poor backgrounds tend to send their young children to work. Shikshalaya tries to help underprivileged people by providing them with the necessary aid. Children from such families can access education from Shikshalaya. Education can make their future better and bright. It will help them break the cycle of poverty that results in child labour.
Improve Health And Hygiene
Shikshalaya provides an education that extends beyond the textbooks. The dedicated teachers also equip children with life skills essential for a bright future. Shri Sai Aashray Trust provides nutritional meals for underprivileged people twice a day. Children will also learn about things needed for their overall well-being. The programs and activities focus on shaping the future of the children.
Programs For Self-Development
Shikshalaya has special programs to motivate children and develop skills. It includes extracurricular activities, social/environmental projects, public speaking, and sports. Children can also participate in art projects for self-expression.
Shri Sai Trust follows the teachings of Sai Baba. It is a trusted NGO in Jaipur providing food, clothes, and other essentials to underprivileged people. It has started Shikshalaya to provide free education to deserving children. Young minds with no access to quality education cannot become successful. Shri Sai Aashray Trust understands the importance of high-quality education in transforming lives. Hence, the trust has started Shikshalaya to discover the infinite potential of children. It builds morality and ethics to make them better citizens of the country. The comprehensive curriculum can impart awareness and skills to make children socially responsible.

Best NGO Donations in India
In a world where poverty and inequality continue to affect millions, every little bit of help can make a massive difference. Contributing to NGOs is one of the most impactful ways to support those in need. Your donations can provide food for the hungry, healthcare for the sick, education for children, protect the environment, and uplift women. Here's how you can make your donations count by supporting these key areas.
1. Donate Food: Helping Fight Hunger
Hunger is a major issue across India, with countless families struggling to get even one proper meal a day. One of the easiest and most effective ways to help is by donating food through NGOs that focus on feeding the poor. By donating food, you're not only filling someone's stomach but also giving them the strength to face another day.
Supporting a charity trust that focuses on food distribution ensures that your contributions reach those who need it most. Whether it's daily meals for children or monthly ration kits for families, your donation can save lives and make a big difference.
2. Healthcare: Giving the Gift of Good Health
Access to proper healthcare is a dream for many people in rural areas and underprivileged communities. Medical treatments, vaccinations, maternal care, and basic healthcare are essential but often out of reach for many. NGOs working in the healthcare sector step in to fill this gap, providing free medical camps, mobile health units, and preventive care.
When you donate to healthcare causes, your money can help provide life-saving treatments to those who can’t afford them. And the best part? These contributions often qualify as tax-exempt donations, meaning you can support a great cause while benefiting from donation tax deductions.
3. Education: Empowering the Next Generation
Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Unfortunately, many children, especially in rural areas, don't have access to proper schooling. By donating to NGOs focused on education, you’re not just giving a child a chance at a better future—you’re changing their entire life.
Whether it's by sponsoring school supplies, funding scholarships, or supporting educational infrastructure, your donation helps shape the next generation of leaders. And remember, donations for educational causes are often eligible for tax deductions, giving you even more reason to give.
4. Environment: Protecting Our Planet for Tomorrow
The environment is another area where NGOs are doing incredible work. From tree planting initiatives to campaigns against pollution and deforestation, there are so many ways you can contribute to keeping our planet healthy. NGOs that work on environmental conservation also help educate communities about sustainability, teaching them to protect natural resources.
When you donate to these causes, you’re not just protecting the environment for today—you’re safeguarding it for future generations. Every little bit helps in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.
5. Women Empowerment: Creating Stronger Communities
Empowering women is crucial for building stronger, more resilient communities. NGOs focused on women empowerment work to provide education, job training, healthcare, and protection against gender-based violence. By supporting these NGOs, you help women gain the confidence and skills they need to lead independent, successful lives.
Whether you donate funds, donate clothes, or volunteer your time, your contribution can uplift women and transform entire communities. Supporting women empowerment leads to better outcomes for families, and ultimately, for society as a whole.
6. Tax-Exempt Donations: Make Your Contribution Count
One of the best parts about donating to registered NGOs in India is that your contributions are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. This means your donations can qualify for a donation tax deduction, reducing your taxable income while helping others. Whether you donate towards food, healthcare, education, or women empowerment, your generosity is rewarded both morally and financially.

Empowering Underprivileged Children Through Education: The Role of NGOs in India
India, with its vast population, is home to millions of underprivileged children who face significant challenges in accessing quality education. Despite various governmental initiatives aimed at providing basic education for all, many children from impoverished backgrounds remain deprived of this fundamental right. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a critical role in bridging this gap, offering hope and opportunities for a brighter future. Among these, organizations like Vibha stand out as leading examples of how collective efforts can make a tangible difference in the lives of underprivileged children.
The Urgent Need for Child Education in India
India’s education system has come a long way since independence, but the ground realities for underprivileged children remain challenging. Millions of children, especially from economically disadvantaged families, still lack access to even basic education. Many live-in rural areas or urban slums where quality educational facilities are scarce. According to government reports, dropout rates remain high, and many children are forced to work to support their families, making education a distant dream.
NGOs dedicated to improving child education in India have been instrumental in addressing these challenges. By focusing on the specific needs of underprivileged children, these organizations provide not just academic support but also holistic development, including nutrition, healthcare, and life skills training.
How NGOs Support Underprivileged Children in India
Organizations like Vibha, an NGO for underprivileged children, are at the forefront of ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education. They recognize that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and work towards this goal through various innovative approaches.
1. Direct Education Programs
One of the primary ways NGOs help underprivileged children is by running direct education programs. These can range from setting up schools in underserved areas to providing scholarships for children to attend private or public schools. The best NGOs for children’s education in India are often those that collaborate with local communities to understand the unique challenges they face. This ensures that educational programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of each region.
For example, NGOs may establish informal learning centers in remote areas where government schools are inaccessible. These centers often serve as a first step for children who have never attended school, helping them catch up with their peers and eventually transition to formal education.
2. Supplemental Educational Support
For children who are already enrolled in school but face difficulties due to a lack of resources, NGOs provide supplemental support. This can include after-school tutoring, provision of study materials, and creating a conducive environment for learning. Underprivileged children often struggle to keep up with their education due to a lack of parental support or access to educational tools. NGOs step in to bridge these gaps by offering a support system that encourages regular attendance, improved learning outcomes, and better overall academic performance.
3. Holistic Child Development
Education is not just about academics; it also involves the overall development of a child. NGOs in India for poor child education recognize this and offer holistic programs that address the health, nutrition, and emotional well-being of underprivileged children. Many of these children face hardships like malnutrition, lack of healthcare, and psychological trauma, all of which can affect their ability to learn.
Organizations like Vibha focus on providing balanced nutrition, healthcare services, and psychological counseling to ensure that children are physically and mentally ready to learn. By addressing these basic needs, NGOs create a stable foundation for children to thrive in their educational pursuits.
4. Community and Parental Engagement
Educating underprivileged children often requires changing mindsets within their communities. Many families prioritize earning a livelihood over education, and in such cases, NGOs work to raise awareness about the long-term benefits of education. Parental engagement programs are key to ensuring that parents understand the importance of sending their children to school and supporting their educational journey.
NGOs conduct workshops and outreach programs to communicate the value of education, not just for the child but for the entire community. By fostering a supportive environment at home and within the community, NGOs ensure that their efforts toward improving education are sustainable in the long run.
The Role of NGOs in Influencing Policy and Change
Apart from providing direct services, many NGOs for underprivileged children also play an advocacy role, pushing for policy changes that support better educational outcomes. Through research, data collection, and working with government agencies, NGOs influence policies that benefit underprivileged children on a larger scale.
For instance, NGOs often collaborate with government bodies to improve the implementation of education-related schemes. They may advocate for better teacher training, improved infrastructure in rural schools, or policies that make it easier for children from marginalized communities to access higher education.
Vibha: A Leading Example of Child Empowerment Through Education
Among the many NGOs in India, Vibha stands out as a dedicated organization committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children through education. With a mission to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential, Vibha works across various regions in India, impacting thousands of lives each year.
What sets Vibha apart as one of the best NGOs for children’s education in India is its comprehensive approach. Vibha recognizes that education alone is not enough to bring about long-term change. Therefore, the organization also focuses on health, nutrition, and life skills development, ensuring that children are well-equipped to succeed both in school and in life.
Vibha’s programs target the most vulnerable children, including those living in slums, rural villages, and remote areas where government services are limited. By partnering with local communities, government bodies, and other NGOs, Vibha creates a network of support that ensures lasting impact.
The Future of Education for Underprivileged Children
The role of NGOs in improving education for underprivileged children in India is more important than ever. With growing inequality and the ever-evolving challenges of the modern world, organizations like Vibha offer a beacon of hope for children who otherwise might never have the chance to attend school.
The work of NGOs has already transformed countless lives, but much remains to be done. With continued support from donors, volunteers, and the government, the dream of universal education can become a reality. The future of India’s children, and indeed the country itself, depends on ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education.
NGOs dedicated to the education of underprivileged children in India are making a significant impact in the fight against poverty and inequality. Through a combination of direct educational support, holistic development programs, and community engagement, these organizations are helping to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for millions of children. Vibha, as a leading NGO for underprivileged children, exemplifies how focused efforts can change lives, one child at a time.

The Impact on Financial and Mental Well-Being in Resource-Poor Communities
Medical advancements have brought us to a day when life-saving surgeries, such as organ transplants, are no longer the stuff of fantasies. For many underprivileged people, however, the actual surgery of such magnitude still faces numerous challenges that extend beyond the operating table. The overwhelming cost and psychological strain from such procedures hit upon the financial and mental well-being of these persons and, in turn, their families.
When we think about the cost of major surgeries, we can easily understand the direct costs paid to surgeons, in-hospital care, and other care after being discharged. For families already feeling the economic strain, these are merely the tips of the proverbial iceberg. It is these submerged costs that are not as readily understandable but that cripple just the same. And if the dramatic situation were not enough, the need for expensive pre-surgical diagnoses, continued postoperative care, and complications that might require treatment can by themselves add insult to injury.
Imagine a family that is scraping by, where every last penny they can find has been scraped up, and they are left with perhaps no one to turn to when things go amiss. Imagine having the head of a household told they need expensive surgery to survive while leaving them to worry-not just about the surgery cost but weeks or months of recovery time taken off work. But for a family already on the verge of financial fragility, this could spell a full-blown crisis.
It can not only lead to savings depletion but can also worsen by means of loaning at exorbitant interest rates, selling necessary assets, or even the family home. Such measures are bound to have long-term repercussions, effectively trapping families into an abyss of poverty from which it becomes almost impossible to climb out.
While the financial impact of major surgery is profound, it is only one part of the story. In contrast, however, the psychological toll forged by this life-changing surgery can be rather overwhelming but usually goes unnoticed. The pre-surgical anxiety and stress brought about by postoperative anxiety and tension from the patients can be overwhelming.
Financially strapped families can be pushed over the edge by the report that a life-saving operation is necessary, creating a chain reaction of emotions: fear, anxiety, and sometimes depression. The uncertainty of the outcome, mixed with the knowledge that the family’s financial future is on the line, can be an unbearable weight to carry.
The stress does not disappear, even after the operation. Recovery from surgery gets its own set of complications-physical pain, the possibility of complications-and even more stress out of continuing anxiety from mounting medical bills. For most, this situation becomes chronic, crossing across families, not only for the individual alone but also for all the family members. Children, in particular, are hit hard by the stress of a parent, which may result in school problems and bad social interaction.
NGOs like Transplant India assist indigent patients with money to cushion them against part of this burden, but the challenges remain very deep-seated and widespread.
It is critical to point out that the effects of major surgeries go well beyond the individual patient. Often, the burden goes to the families in terms of finances and emotion, and when this happens, it ripples out throughout the community. Most frequently, the financial resources of a family are loaded to the point of breaking, which may require hard decisions to be made on which sort of expenditure gets to be slashed. For some, this may even require children to wear patched-up clothes not be able to afford after-school activities, or perhaps move to a cheaper community with a possible loss in overall safety.
The mental burden of these financial strains induces friction among family members, which results in conflict and sometimes even the demolition of the relationship. The mental health of all family members can suffer as they try to cope with the new reality that the surgery on their loved one has imposed on them.
It also affects communities. If several families within a community are dealing with the costs and emotional trauma of major surgeries, the overall character of the whole community is affected. There are poor school attendance rates, high levels of personal and property crime, and a general feeling of doom and desolation that characterizes the community.
Such problems follow complex and complicated natures, giving a hard time addressing them from one direction as they touch on almost all aspects of wellness: physical, mental, financial, social, and beyond. The response ought to be greater than the financial support of one surgery; there needs to be a broader strategy addressing the ongoing needs of both the patient and the family.
This is where the seven dimensions of the wellness concept come into play very strongly. Any effective strategy that would actually work while supporting such underprivileged members who are going through major surgeries has to take into consideration these seven dimensions. For example, the financial wellness dimension could offer programs such as direct financial support, teaching how to cope with handling medical bills, and accessing low-cost services. Mental health services could be an opportunity for family counselling or linking to community-based support groups, which will enable the family to come together to support one another and understand each other better.
According to stakeholders, such a strong community-based support system would be in liaison with the Wellness Community of India itself for a multidimensional approach that could provide for immediate support needs at a physical level but also a framework for addressing individual and family wellness overall.
No single organization can possibly take care of this issue. It requires collective efforts from healthcare providers, volunteer not-for-profits, leaders in communities, and various government agencies. This way, combined. A network can be built that specifically caters to the fiscal and psychological needs of patients undergoing large surgeries.
Community-based organizations play a very significant role in all this, however. These organizations are the most common points of entry where people in need of help can receive vital support in manoeuvring through the jargon of health care. At an individual level, healthcare providers can thus ensure that their patients have all the resources necessary to combat both financial and psychosocial stressors.
Any major surgery is never easy, even harder for people who are already struggling to set meals on a table. But, with the right support, everything can be done away with, and the victims come out to be much stronger. In these senses, this works in building not only resilience but also in individuals, families, and communities.
Resilience does not happen overnight but results from a focused effort to build resources, both financial and mental, that the individual or family will rely on to withstand new pressures. It can be a savings plan that allows families to build a financial cushion or the building of community support networks that offer both emotional and practical support during crisis times.
End of the day, it should not be the case that major surgical interventions should be a life-altering burden for underprivileged individuals and the families associated with them. Holistically making sure that efforts are combined across several dimensions to address wellness means that many others can envision a life free from avoidable diseases, full of healthy living, and no less of potential fulfilment, despite their economic situation.
Major surgeries create a financial and mental toll that is huge but very bearable. Supporting cooperation among care providers, community groups, and support networks means bringing great dignity and strong resilience to the individuals and families facing these challenges.
This does not amount to providing a quick-fix scheme or a one-size-fits-all solution. It is about thoughtfully and deliberately acting upon the creation of a support system that serves the unique requirements of the individual and family. It is the keen realization of the interrelatedness of the seven dimensions of wellness that uses that understanding to create a more comprehensive approach towards healthcare and well-being.
In this way, we can step into the future, where the cost of major surgery doesn’t have the ability to turn into a barrier to health and happiness, but another dare that we work out together as a community.

Tackling mall nutrition in India
Introduction
Malnutrition remains one of the most critical issues facing India today. Despite the nation's progress in various sectors, hunger and poor nutrition continue to plague millions. According to recent reports, India has the highest number of children suffering from malnutrition in the world. This article explores the severity of malnutrition in India, the efforts of Hamari Pahchan NGO to address this crisis, and how individuals can contribute to this cause.
The Malnutrition Crisis in India
Malnutrition is a pressing concern in India, affecting millions across the country. According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), nearly 35% of children under five are stunted, meaning their growth is significantly impaired due to chronic malnutrition. Additionally, about 32% of children are underweight, and 17% suffer from wasting, a condition marked by severe weight loss.
These statistics paint a grim picture of the nutritional landscape in India. The causes are multifaceted, including poverty, lack of access to nutritious food, poor maternal health, and inadequate sanitation. Rural areas and marginalized communities are particularly vulnerable, where access to food and health services is often limited.
Hamari Pahchan NGO: A Beacon of Hope
Amidst this challenging scenario, Hamari Pahchan NGO stands as a pillar of support. The organization is dedicated to eradicating malnutrition and improving the health of underprivileged communities. Here’s how Hamari Pahchan is making a difference:
Nutritional Support: Hamari Pahchan provides nutritious food packages to families in need. These packages are designed to address essential dietary needs and combat deficiencies. The NGO ensures that the food supplied is rich in vital nutrients to support the growth and development of children.
Health Education: The organization conducts workshops and awareness programs on healthy eating habits and proper nutrition. These sessions educate families on the importance of a balanced diet and how to make the most out of available resources.
Community Outreach: Hamari Pahchan actively engages with local communities to identify those most in need and to provide tailored support. They work closely with community leaders to understand specific needs and deliver effective solutions.
Monitoring and Evaluation: To ensure the effectiveness of their programs, Hamari Pahchan regularly monitors and evaluates their impact. This approach helps in refining their strategies and ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it the most.
How Individuals Can Make a Difference
While organizations like Hamari Pahchan play a crucial role, individual actions are equally important in the fight against malnutrition. Here’s what you can do:
Support Fundraisers: Contributing to fundraisers aimed at tackling malnutrition can make a significant impact. Donations help organizations like Hamari Pahchan provide more resources and expand their reach.
Raise Awareness: Spread the word about the issue of malnutrition. Share information through social media, participate in community events, and educate others about the importance of addressing hunger and poor nutrition.
Volunteer: Get involved with local NGOs and community groups working on nutrition and health issues. Volunteering your time and skills can provide valuable support to these organizations.
Advocate for Policy Changes: Support and advocate for policies that promote better food security and nutritional programs. Engaging with policymakers and participating in public forums can help drive systemic changes.
Undernourishment As of 2020–2022, the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) reported that 16.6% of India's population was undernourished. This rate is higher than in Nepal and Sri Lanka but lower than in Bangladesh. By 2023, Worldometer estimated that 14.37% of India’s population was undernourished.
Stunted Growth According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) 5 for 2019–2021, 35.5% of children under five years old experienced stunted growth, indicating they are shorter than the average for their age due to inadequate nutrition.
Wasting The same NFHS 5 report found that 19.3% of children under five years old were wasted, meaning they are significantly underweight for their height.
Underweight The NFHS 5 also highlighted that 32.1% of children under five years old were underweight, reflecting insufficient weight gain for their age.
Anaemia The NFHS 5 data shows that 25% of men aged 15–49 years, 57% of women aged 15–49 years, and 31.1% of adolescent boys aged 15–19 years suffer from anaemia, a condition often linked to poor nutrition.
Contributing Factors Economic inequality and various social determinants also play significant roles in exacerbating malnutrition in India. In response, the government has implemented several initiatives, including the Midday Meal Scheme, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), and the National Children's Fund, to address and mitigate these issues.

Donate for Girl Child Education | Girl Education Ngo India We believe that all children, particularly girls from poor and disadvantaged families, access and complete education from pre-primary to secondary levels, thus realising their right to inclusive and quality education. However the realities reflect inequitable access to Early Childhood Education; poor learning outcomes in early grades which leads to learning deficits; discriminative social norms, gender-stereotyped curriculum and lack of an inclusive, protective environment within the schools. To address these barriers and to ensure all children, particularly vulnerable girls from excluded communities realize their right to an inclusive and quality education, Plan India has taken multipronged approach which includes

Help For Physically Handicapped People
Who We Are
Welcome to Paras Parivaar - Where Compassion Creates Change!
At Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust we believe in the extraordinary power of humanity to make the world a better place. Our story is one of unwavering dedication, boundless compassion, and a relentless commitment to improving lives. We are not just an organization; we are a family united by a shared vision of creating positive change in the lives of those in need.
Help For Physically Handicapped People
There are so many physically handicapped people in the society who need Financial Help for Handicapped people or employment for their livelihood and in most cases, there is nobody to take care of them. As a responsible part of the society, we should take some initiative for them.
At Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust, Our Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji started to track these types of people who don't have any support and tried to provide help as much as possible. With the grace of Maa Durga, we have served more than 60000 physically handicapped people and provide all the required help. Initially, we have provided them with some financial help so that they can fulfill their basic needs. After that, we have created employment opportunities for them and provide them jobs according to their capabilities so that they can become self-dependent.
Our Mahant Shri Paras Bhai Ji Invites you to make your contribution towards this noble cause so that you can have the opportunity to win the heart of Maa Durga because she is always happy to see everybody working for the noble cause.
Why We Initiate Handicapped Programs
According to recent estimates, India alone has 40-90 million children, a sizable population. In 2023, the landscape of support and empowerment for differently abled children in India will shift radically. With the introduction of breakthrough technology and shifting social norms, there is a growing realization that a disability should not be a barrier to achieving one's aspirations and goals.
Helplocal, a dynamic website dedicated to connecting individuals with NGOs in India, wants to shed light on the current state of differently abled children in the country. We will examine the most recent statistics, trends, and the critical work of several non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Barriers for Handicapped Children
Ineffective policies and plans:
Governments lack sufficient policies for disabled people, forcing them to rely on their families for a living. Instead, prepare some social welfare measures, and your life obstacles will be decreased from what they are now.
Insufficient Infrastructure and Resources:
Schools and institutions continue to lack essential infrastructure, making it impossible to meet children's educational demands. Even the resources and tools available to them are inadequate. For example, just 5% of books are accessible to visually impaired children, which we believe is insufficient.
Unsuitable Training for Teachers:
The teachers did not obtain appropriate training for these pupils. Only 20-25% of teachers are competent, which is a low percentage when compared to regular teaching sessions.
Inadequate Data Supervision:
There is no reliable statistics or information accessible for physically challenged people all around the world. Only 21% of countries have comprehensive and reliable demographic data. What else can we expect from an out-of-date survey and monitoring?
Discrimination based on social status:
Aside from the concerns outlined above, another factor is societal unfairness. People fear rejection and even discrimination as a result of their unacceptable behavior in society, which contributes to low self-esteem. Hitting and bullying them teaches them the respect they deserve rather than disrespecting them.
Disabled Persons' National Policies in India:
The Indian government has implemented a number of Programmes For Poor People to assist people with disabilities, including programmes aimed at boosting their strength and independence in both professional and educational contexts.
Paras Parivaar Charitable Trust Mission
We start getting that feeling of happiness which can not be described in words and along with this, we also start receiving the blessings of Maa because she is always happy to see her children to work for the noble cause.
