15 Unforgettable Moments from Summer '23
Airplane Karen, the Alabama Brawl, Trump turning himself in to Fulton County and Erykah Badu's beef with Beyoncé were all the talk.
By
Kalyn Womack

Relax... just because Starbucks fired up their pumpkin spice lattes does NOT mean the summer is over. And before the season is a wrap, we need to do a run down of what happened because man... it was a time.
The highlight of course is the most recent event—former President Donald Trump heading to Fulton County jail to get his mugshot taken for one of the four indictments he’s facing. KeKe Palmer’s baby daddy started a feud with her over an appearance with Usher and got dragged by the internet. Plus, some regular-degular people have gone viral for their moments that got caught on camera like that Alabama boat brawl.
“Lift every chair and swing” is being printed on t-shirts as we speak.
Many more events occurred across politics, entertainment and beyond that were honestly unexpected or just juicy to talk to about. Check out 15 moments below:

Trump Goes to Jail... Kind Of
The former president took to social media to announce his plans to surrender to authorities at Fulton County Jail after being slammed with a fourth indictment by District Attorney Fani Willis. He and 19 other defendants are facing charges in connection to the “stop the steal” campaign to overthrow the 2020 election results.

Atlanta hosted parties for the occasion, including one lounge’s “Welcome to Rice St.” celebration. Trump bailed himself out on $200k but nevertheless, the internet was gifted with his mugshot. It’s not oversaturated. That’s just his spray tan.

Try That in a Small Town
https://www.theroot.com/embed/inset/iframe?id=youtube-video-b1_RKu-ESCY&start=0Jason Aldean - Try That In A Small Town (Official Music Video)
The country singer drew controversy after releasing this racism-coded song with hidden jabs at Black stereotypes and the Black Lives Matter movement. The music video featured clips from the 2020 protests and a courthouse where a Black teen was lynched back in the 20s. Despite the obvious implications, the singer insisted being racist wasn’t his intention.

It’s still a good ol’ boys, gun rights, MAGAt anthem nonetheless.

Jamie Foxx’s Mysterious Sickness
Seemingly out of nowhere, the beloved singer-actor dropped off the face of the earth and the next thing we knew, he was in the hospital fighting an unspecified medical complication. Not even TMZ’s best paparazzi and sources could get a picture of him or any information as to what was going on. Many people thought we were going to lose him. Then, the trailer for They Cloned Tyrone dropped and led the internet into a frenzy about the government making another Foxx to replace the OG.

He finally showed face weeks later and his friends and family say he’s good as new. We still don’t know what put him down.

The rapper was performing at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas when a crowd member splashed a drink on her. Almost immediately, Cardi abandoned any determination to finish her song and threw her microphone at who she thought was the perpetrator. Online users say the wrong fan got smacked by the mic. In the end, the artist faced a battery charge.

Meanwhile, the mic is being auctioned off for near $100k on eBay.

Beyoncé vs Erykah Badu?
Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour has officially previewed 100 different outfits, many reminiscent of the old style wear from her Formation era which means BIG hats. Songstress Erykah Badu took to Instagram one day reposting a picture of the Crazy In Love singer ascending onto the stage in a wide-brimmed chrome mirror hat. “Hmm. I guess I’m everyone’s stylist,” Badu wrote.

In response, fans speculated that Beyoncé omitted Badu’s name from her Break My Soul (The Queens Remix) performance. In another performance, she switched it up to “Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu,” which fans also took as shade.

Florida Man Says Slavery Was Good
After wreaking complete havoc on the education system with his anti-woke campaign, Gov. Ron DeSantis decided to weigh in on the topic of slavery. No, no one asked.
In addition to endorsing the state’s Department of Education’s ban of teaching subjects regarding the history of slavery and racism, he argued that slavery (the 400+ years of Black people being sold, abused and mutilated) was beneficial for Black people.... the white man who refuses to acknowledge racism.

Carlee Russell Kidnapping Hoax
In July, Carlethia “Carlee” Russell sent the nation into a panic when she allegedly disappeared after calling 911 to report a missing toddler on the side of the highway. Police found her car and belongings unattended on the side of Interstate 459. Two days later, she walked back home and told the police she was abducted by a orange-bearded man. After an investigation, police found Russell had records of searching kidnapping-related topics and just days after that discovery, Russell’s attorney released a statement that her disappearance was a lie. Now, she’s facing charges for faking her disappearance.

Montgomery Boat Brawl
https://www.theroot.com/embed/inset/iframe?id=youtube-video-8JdLnCp17Jc&start=0Watch: Video shows brawl erupt on Alabama riverfront
Some might say plain old racism brought a class-action butt whopping to a group of white folks. After refusing to move their boat from the dock, a white family then tried to provoke an altercation with the Black doc workers who were trying to doc another larger boat. After a group of white men ganged up on the Black doc worker, more Black bystanders spawned onto the doc swinging knuckles, ankles and chairs to defend the man who was just trying to do his job. One teen swam across the river fully clothed, shoes on and jumped onto the doc to promptly commence to beating ass. You just had to see it.

KeKe Palmer’s Usher Episode
The new mama enjoyed a ladies night out to see Usher’s Vegas performance wearing a sexy, sheer dress. The clip of Usher serenading Palmer went viral on the internet but one hater had to try and ruin the fun: her damn baby father. In a tweet, he threw misogynistic shade at the video writing, “It’s the outfit tho... you a mom.” He must’ve forgotten we don’t know him like that. Thus, the internet dragged him back to the dusty corner he came from.
KeKe responded to his shade with a new single ladies anthem and an appearance in Usher’s new video saying, “I am a mother, after all.”

Chicago Mom and Son
A brutal video of a woman getting punched in the face by a man circulated social media like fire on gasoline. The video showed her asking her son to get her gun while in an argument with a man at a food stand. After the man took that right-hook, the woman’s son pulled out a firearm and fatally shot him. The situation sparked debates on whether the mother and son should be charged in the shooting. However, the two had their felony murder charges dropped as soon as they’d gotten them.

Airplane Karen
Tiffany Gomas went viral within weeks after having a meltdown on an airplane that we still don’t know the reason for. She told reporters her issue stemmed from a spout with family members but other reports say she accused a Black man of stealing her AirPods. The video of her screaming, “I don’t give two fucks but I’m telling you right now, that motherfucker back there is not real!” drew the most attention as people speculated who wasn’t real and why.
She apologized for her episode on X but we still don’t know what caused the ruckus. The internet concluded she saw a demon, shapeshifter or skinwalker. Yet, there’s no proof.

Tory Lanez Sentenced to 10 Years
YASSSSSSS... I mean, aw damn. Singer-rapper Tory Lanez got sentenced to ten years in prison in connection to the shooting and injuring of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. For years, the internet (and Tory) debated about what happened back in 2020. Meg stayed silent until Tory went on social media instigating an argument. Then, she finally gave an emotional account of the night she thought she’d die. He was convicted for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Lizzo’s Scathing Lawsuit
The singer-songwriter was slammed with a sexual harassment lawsuit listing three of her former dancers as plaintiffs seemingly out of nowhere. The suit alleged Lizzo engaged in “sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and false imprisonment.” She was also accused of not paying her employees and verbally abusing them because of their weight. Her current dancers also weighed in echoing the concerns listed in the legal document. The artist responded calling the suit a “sham” and denied the allegations. The lawyer representing the plaintiffs said more allegations may be on the way.

Government Releases UFO Secrets
In July, the House Oversight subcommittee on National Security, the Border and Foreign Affairs held an impromptu hearing to confirm that aliens are real. Technically, it’s “unidentified anomalous phenomena” which may or may not be the green slimy things we consider aliens to be. A few military vets testified that the country recovered non-human “biologics” from certain crash sites and recounted traumatizing moments about what they saw. However, the nation seemed to react with one big fat shrug emoji because we already knew what was up.

SAG-AFTRA Strike
The Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strike took TV show and movie lovers by storm putting a harsh pause on filming as actors and screenwriters demand a fair negotiated contract for better pay, healthy working conditions and of course, protection from allowing AI to make carbon copies of the actors. Kerry Washington, Quinta Brunson and more have joined the picket line halting production on the film rendition of Broadway’s “Wicked,” Abbott Elementary and Marvel’s “Blade.”

Strep
You go to visit your brother, Tom, in the states, but you get sick and beg him not to tell your parents.
-
“Are you sure you feel well enough to go?” Your dad asked you as you shakily made your way over to where your bags were sitting. You were about go visit your oldest brother, Tom, for the whole of summer break, but the past day you hadn’t been feeling well. You were sure it was the bad Indian food you’d had the night before, but you weren’t letting anything stop you. It had been four months since you’d seen him and he’d surprised you with a ticket without even asking your parents first. There was no way you were going to give it up.
“Yes, Dad, I’ll be fine,” you said, “it’s probably just the food from last night.” He sighed.
“Alright, then, load the car up.” You loaded your suitcases, bags, and backpack into the car for your dad to take you to the airport, only for a second barging into your only younger brother’s room to make him tell you goodbye. The others were gone on some weekend trip, so you’d said goodbye to them two days before and they’d tried to convince you that your plane was going to crash over the ocean, so it was better that you didn’t see them again.
You said goodbye to your mom and your dad started driving you, letting you out at the closest terminal to yours. It wasn’t the first time you’d flown, you were basically an expert at it, even though it was the first time you’d actually been alone. Usually you had one of the boys with you if not your parents, so you were watching things a little more than usual. But you printed your boarding pass, checked your luggage in, went through security, got some food, and FaceTimed Tom.
“Are you almost on?” He asked when he saw you’d already downed most of the tea you’d gotten.
“Yeah, we board in a few minutes. It says I get in at nine tonight.”
“Alright. I’ll be there, then, I’ll park and meet you at the baggage. Fly safe. I love you.”
“I love you too.” His face disappeared when you shut your phone off. You didn’t hate flying, but you hated taking off, and turned your music up as loud as it would go. Thankfully your flight got in so late that it was pretty empty and you could pick a seat of your own. You made sure not to look at the map, since it only freaked you out that you were going over the ocean for such a long time, and you bought WiFi to watch a few movies.
You started to feel sick again, but you were going through a storm and you were getting tossed all over the place, so that was probably it. You just opened the blanket you brought, noticing how cold the air on the plane had gotten, and reclined your seat as much as you could to sleep a little. And you were out for most of the rest of the flight – you let yourself look at the map when you felt the plane going down and realized you were about to land in Atlanta.
“There she is!” You heard Tom’s familiar voice and tugged out your headphones, walking over to him and hugging him tightly. “How’s my favorite sister?”
“Tired,” you responded honestly. He laughed.
“Well, we’ll get your bags, I want to take you to get food, and then you can get settled in.” You nodded, looking at the screen that told you your flight was next for baggage. It would still be a few minutes, though, so you let yourself catch up with Tom and throw away all of your trash. You finally got your bags and he led you out to where he’d made Harrison keep the car waiting.
“It’s about time!” Harrison called out, getting out of the car to help with your bags. He attacked you with a hug first and then playfully pushed you back away. “Hungry?”
“Please,” you responded with a laugh as you got in the back seat. Tom shut the trunk of the car and let it settle before getting back in the front. “I missed you guys. I missed American soil.” Tom laughed as Harrison tried to pull away from the curb before the airport police would get pissed off at him.
“How was flying by yourself?” Tom asked, looking behind you. You heard the GPS say something about a restaurant.
“Not bad. Definitely easier than with Paddy and the twins.” He grinned.
“Anything is better than flying with them. They have to go to the bathroom every ten minutes, all three of them.” Tom adjusted the hat on his head and turned back, letting you watch as Harrison drove through downtown. There wasn’t any traffic and they pulled into some drive-thru, ordering a shit ton of food, and passed it back for you to hold.
“How much food do you get here?”
“Are you surprised?” Tom asked as he handed you the third Styrofoam box. You rolled your eyes and tried not to gag. You didn’t know why, because the food smelled good, and you were starving because all you’d had was half a bag of goldfish you got from the airport so they were stale.
You ate with the boys, more than you thought you would, showered off the airport smell, and went to bed. Tom didn’t have to go film for another three weeks, so you had some quality time with him for a few days. You’d decided to go to Six Flags the next day since it wouldn’t be as crowded on a weekday, so you woke up only a few hours after going to sleep. You felt drained, but a cup of coffee fixed it. You’d never had issues adjusting to new time zones, but this one had thrown you for a bit of a loop.
“You good?” Tom asked you as you plopped down on the bar stool, head on your elbow.
“Yeah, just tired,” you responded. He looked you up and down, sighing.
“Are you sure you want to go?”
“Dad asked me the same thing. I’m fine, Tommy.” Your nickname for him always made him smile and now was no different. He gave you some of his breakfast and the two of you ate while you waited for Harrison, and then you all headed out to go to the park.
“It’s so hot,” you complained later as the Atlanta sun beat down on you. Tom could tell you were a little overheated, but he took the bag you were wearing from you and exchanged it with the giant water he got. Your throat was sore, it had been since you woke up, but you didn’t think much of it. You never did. Your body could just hate the fact that you were halfway around the world. You tried not to think about it as you and the boys wandered around the park for most of the day, but it got progressively worse until you could feel a clicking in your throat whenever you swallowed. But you were probably fine, so you ignored it.
“I’m taking a nap!” Harrison called that night as you finally got back to the car. All three of you were sunburned and exhausted, especially because you’d consumed so many sugary snacks that by the time you got back to the car all of the sugar had left you crashing. You tried not to fall asleep, and Tom made sure to hit a curb on your side to wake you up.
“Come on,” he said, shoving you after he pulled into the driveway to the house he was renting. You woke up and got out of the car, taking off your makeup and going to bed as soon as you could.
You woke up the next morning feeling ten times worse than the night before. Your throat felt like it was on fire, but you could barely fucking swallow when you tried to drink some water. You looked over at Tom, who was still asleep. The house only had two bedrooms and Tom wasn’t about to make you sleep on the couch but he wasn’t going to either, so unless he decided to bring a real girl over you were sleeping in his bed as far away from him as you could. Your entire body ached and the last thing you wanted to do was go back to sleep, so you did.
“Wake up!” About two hours later, at ten AM, you felt Tom pushing you back onto your side of the bed.
“What?” You asked in a hoarse voice.
“You sound like a smoker,” he responded.
           “I feel awful.”
“Come on, I’ll make you something to drink,” he encouraged, pulling the covers off the both of you. You followed him anyway, and as soon as you started walking to the kitchen your head started throbbing. But you sat down at the kitchen counter and he started to make you some of your favorite tea. You wondered why he kept it around if you weren’t there – he always said he hated sweet teas, but your favorite was peach.
“Thanks,” you said a few minutes later as he was handing it to you in a Spider-Man mug. He’d made sure not to make the water too hot so you wouldn’t die drinking it. It felt good coating your throat, but as soon as it left, you felt awful again.
“I don’t have a thermometer,” he said as he walked over to you, putting his palm to your forehead. “You’re burning up.”
“I feel like shit,” you complained. “I need a shower.”
“Go take one. We can just relax today, okay?” You nodded and went to go take another shower. Your clothes were sticking to your skin from sweating, and you felt so bad that you changed the sheets on the bed. You came back out and Tom had ordered food, but the idea made you sick to your stomach.
“Come get a waffle before I destroy them all,” a tired Harrison said as he was about to pour syrup all over the box full of waffles.
“I’m good,” you said, taking a spot in the corner of the couch between the boys. You drank a second round of tea, but it wasn’t helping much. You could see your mom’s contact name on Tom’s phone and snatched it away from him.
“I’m just going to call her and tell her you’re sick!”
“And then she’ll come here or she’ll make me come home! I’m fine, Tommy, please?” You didn’t give him his phone back until he agreed not to tell your mom, and when he said he wouldn’t say anything you gave it back to him.
“Your germs are all over it!” He said, wiping it off on his t-shirt. “If you’re not better by this afternoon, I’m taking you to an urgent care.”
“Fine,” you agreed, “just don’t tell Mom. I’m fine.”
“You’re lying, but okay.” He let it go, though, and even though Harrison went to run some errands the two of you stayed on the couch. You laid on opposite ends of the couch, your feet touching, like you were known to do at home. Even though you were right in the middle, you were Tom’s favorite and it was no secret. You and Paddy were roped into being together most of the time, so when you got to spend time with Tom you were always excited because he was Spider-Man, he was the coolest older brother ever, and you were always so excited to see what he was doing and hang out with him.
“Feeling any better?” He asked you, poking your leg that was wedged between his and the couch a few hours later. You shook your head. He’d all but babied you for most of the day, and for the last few hours you’d been sleeping through episodes of New Girl.
“No,” you replied. Tom sighed and sat up, so you did the same. You knew what he was going to say and you didn’t want to hear it.
“Then I’m gonna call some place to take you, okay?”
“No,” you begged him. “I’ll be fine.”
“You’re sick and I don’t know how to help you. We’re taking you as soon as Harrison gets back. Go get some clothes on.” You did as he told you to do, not wanting to take the chance of your parents finding out, and pulled on some clothes. Harrison was back soon and handed the car keys off to Tom, who called an urgent care.
You found out an hour later after about a million swab tests that you had strep. You groaned, looking over at Tom, and he just rubbed your back as they told you they were giving you some steroids. The nurse left you and you just looked at Tom. You were never sick, ever, and you had never even had to get tested for anything.
“You’re fine,” Tom said with a sigh. “And you’re expensive. You do realize I don’t have insurance in this country?”
“I’m sorry.” He just laughed at you.
“I’m kidding. I don’t, but… It’s fine. I’m just glad I can take care of you. I’ll be outside.” You nodded and he pat your back again before taking his wallet out. The nurse gave you some steroids and let you go, but not before warning you that you were still contagious for a full day.
“I’ll get you some ice cream if you’ll sit here for a few minutes,” Tom offered as he pulled into the Target parking lot. You nodded and he handed you a phone charger, leaving the car on for you while he went inside. He was back in a few minutes with your favorite ice cream, Americone Dream, and some other snacks that wouldn’t irritate your throat too much.
You got back and got some of the ice cream out – you’d told Tom you would sleep on the couch, it was fine, and he’d tried to make it as comfortable for you as he could. He even bought you another expansion pack for the Sims without you even asking. It somehow got out in the family group chat, the one without your parents, that you were sick. Paddy and Harry were absolutely awful to you about it, but Sam, ever the sweet one, sent you a few private messages and carried on a few games of 8 Ball in iMessage because he felt bad for you.
“I am officially not contagious anymore!” You said the next afternoon after the boys came in from where they’d been out by the pool. “So you can come within six feet of me.”
“As if!” Harrison said, laughing a little bit. You loved him, but man he was mean sometimes.
“Oh, fuck off!” Tom said, pushing him up the stairs to the bedrooms. Tom came back a little bit later to make some snacks and actually sat down beside you. “You look a lot better.”
“I don’t feel a lot better,” you admitted. “I can’t sleep and my throat hurts and all I can keep down is tea and ice cream.” He sighed and threw an arm around you.
“Come here.” He hugged you tightly and you hugged him back. You didn’t know how long you were there for, but you were almost asleep by the time that your parents called.
           “Oh, no,” you groaned.
“Just stay quiet, I got it,” he responded. You leaned your face into his arm, shutting your eyes. “Hey, Dad!” Tom said loudly.
“Hey, how are the two of you? Do anything fun yet?”
“We’re good!” You said. Your throat felt scratchy and you hoped he couldn’t hear it, and Tom sighed before going on.
“We went to Six Flags yesterday and it was super cool, today we just stayed inside mostly. Y/n got me on some new ice cream and it’s really nice,” he said. Usually he liked to walk around when he was on the phone, but now he was just staying with you.
“That’s lovely,” your mother said. “The boys miss you, Y/n.”
“Oh, no they don’t,” you replied, rolling your eyes. Even though all of you got along, you still had to pretend you didn’t. Just for street credit. Tom put his finger to his lips, shaking his head at you to shut up. So you did.
“We’re actually about to go out, there’s a bar here that does quizzes and we were gonna go to the Disney one. So we’ll talk to you later?” All of you said goodbye and he hung up, putting the phone down on the coffee table.
“Are you leaving?” You asked him. He laughed.
“Don’t look so concerned. I’m not leaving you just because you have strep throat,” he promised. He put his arm back around you and kept playing his video game, letting you sleep a little bit before making fun of you some more for sleeping on him.
A/N: I hope this was fluffy enough for you! As much as I love Tom and would love to cuff him for myself, I feel like he’s a great brother too!

part 2
Light flickered in a scattered pattern as warmth began to seep through the layered glass of the bus windows. Y/N lifted her head from the padded portion of the chair she had cuddled into, she felt her body tense as she was physically weak and sweat covered her skin.
The carrier was parked at what appeared to be a rest stop in a small town, a slight ocean breeze floating through the air as tourists filed off the bus. It had been almost a day since the girl had boarded the transit, the bus often took many breaks and they had yet to get to Atlanta. Taking her hoodie off and pushing herself up from the seat, she looked out of the bus and towards a small town sign.
Southport, Florida.
Deciding to take a quick walk around to stretch her legs, the woman made sure to have all her things before heading out, she breathed heavily as the humidity washed over her- her body basking in the golden sun that cascaded against her skin. her hair brushed against her neck and she shrugged at the awkward tickling feeling.
Walking away from the group, she made her way further into town and let herself relax, she had time before she had to be back on the bus, there was no harm in looking around.
Making her way through the charming little town, something stirred inside Y/N. She felt calm here by the water, with the breeze brushing against her shoulders, it was almost as if she felt relaxed.
Maybe she didn’t need to go to Atlanta.
A small white building with a battered exterior caught her attention and the girl smiled. A corner store. Walking towards the building that had certainly seen better days. Y/N let her eyes trail pass the establishment. It sat right on the water, a dock connecting itself to the shop.
Soft bells sounded above the shop door as she entered, alerting whoever was around that they had a customer. As she walked inside and looked around, she saw that the building was actually attached to the gas station next door. they must be owned by the same people.
As Y/N was browsing the store and looking through the shelves, she noticed a wall near the back which had a bunch of pictures pinned to it. Presumably locals or family of the owner.
Everything in the town seemed to be family owned which was quite nice, the town had history. The motel she had passed on the way towards the store was calling out to her in the back of her mind. Maybe staying one night wouldn’t hurt.
Quick footsteps moved towards the girl and she spun around quickly, coming face to face with a curly haired man with a slight beard growing in- he had an apologetic smile as he was obviously caught off guard by having a customer this early in the morning.
The fright in Y/N’s eyes was evident and she stood with tension griping her shoulders.
“Hi- sorry, uh how can i help you?” the man grabbed an apron off the wall and pulled it on, tying the straps behind his back. His white t-shirt and jeans were covered by the red striped material of his smock.
Smiling at him she walked towards the counter, placing the few items that she had picked up on her way in down. A bottle of water, a bag of chips and a granola bar.
“Are you new in town? i don’t recall seeing you before..” he trailed off, waiting for an answer and also her name if she were to offer it. From what Y/N could tell, he seemed friendly enough, but in light of recent events, she kept to herself.
Taking out her wallet, she nodded. “just passing through…” remaining quite mysterious with her answer.
Sending her a bright smile and scratching his jaw, the man shrugged it off- it was at this point that Y/N could read the small writing on his apron. "Paul” the name tag was printed. How much do I owe you… Paul?” she trailed, pointing up to the tag, so he could see where she was getting the name.
A chuckle flooded through her ears, the man having a kind smile on his face. “Paul is my dad… He used to own this place but now it’s mine… My name’s Tyler.” he outstretched his hand after cleaning up the counter and putting his apron away.
The woman pressed her lips into a thin smile at her mistake. “Sorry… my name’s (y/n)...” She was almost hesitant when giving over her name. What if someone had come looking for her and asked questions?
Tyler took her hand delicately and shook it, not giving too much of a squeeze or yanking her towards him. “Its nice to meet you Y/N...” he went to ask her about where she was heading before his attention was drawn else where.
“Daddy!” a tiny voice rang out, high pitched and adorable as little footsteps ran towards the pair- instantly reminding Y/N of how the man had done just moments ago.
At the noise, Tyler turned around and swooped a little figure up into his arms- a blonde haired girl with brown eyes and a pointed nose. she looked no older than five, but definitely no younger than three.
“And whose this?” Y/N chuckled softly, looking at the girl with a kind smile as the child clung to her father’s neck. Tyler smiled and poked the tiny girl’s cheek, he fixed her shirt and denim shorts before setting her own the ground and ruffling her hair.
“This is Emily… my daughter.. and the towns resident trouble maker!” he tickled her side and the girl squeaked, howling in laughter and giggles before running back off to where ever she came from.
(Y/N) felt her heart swell, she had always wanted kids, someone she could raise and make into a good person. But she wanted to do that with someone she could trust and love… Someone better than Michael.
As she came out of her daydream, Y/N looked up at Tyler who had quite a few inches on her. He had to be at least six-foot.
“Uh right- do you sell maps? and maybe you could point me out some directions to the nearest motel?” she offered him a kind smile. Bringing his attention back towards her purchase.
Suddenly a smirk found it’s way onto the brunette’s lips. “Thought you were just passing through?” he chuckled.
The woman’s lips felt into a tiny smile. “Might be staying longer than I anticipated.” she admitted charmingly.
Shaking his head, Tyler leaned under the counter, pulling a map out and handing it over- “Usually i don’t sell maps since Southport doesn’t get a lot of tourists… but you can consider this a loan.” he smiled softly, grabbing a piece of receipt paper and writing the directions on it.
Y/N tilted her head, sweet curiosity masking her expression. “A loan?” she asked. Handing him the right change for the rest of her items.
Putting the cash into the register, the man passed her a small paper bag with her goodies inside, placing the map right on top. His eyes held a cheeky spark that was as bright as the day.
“So that you have to come back.”

Sooo, I got Rookered again...
Soooo, I got Rookered again.  This time at Geek’d Con in Shreveport, La.  And just like the 1st time I saw Rooker, this time was just as amazing.  I went up to see him several times each day resulting in some pretty epic Rooker moments, and I'm gonna try my hardest to remember every detail.  So, without further ado, here’s the story of my 2nd adventure with the Rooker.
A little intro before I get to the good stuff.
First off, y’all have no idea how stoked I was that Rooker was coming to Shreveport!  I was afraid I wasn’t gonna get to see him this year.  He wasn’t coming to a con anywhere near me, and it’s an act of Congress for me to take off work to be able to travel to him. Geek’d Con was pretty much my last chance.
I had been watching Geek’d Con’s Facebook like a hawk hoping there might be a slim chance they would announce Rooker.  Then they started hinting and dropping clues for about a month that they had their biggest guest so far coming this year.  And every hint pointed directly to Rooker.  I knew it had to be him.
One night, Geek’d Con posted on their Facebook page the last clue and that they would be announcing the guest at 8 am the next morning.  I hardly slept a wink that night.  I was too excited and failing miserably at trying not to get my hopes up.  Geek’d Con is not a big con, and even though Rooker likes Shreveport, I was afraid that it might be too small of a con for him to come to.
Morning finally came, and I was awake way before my alarm.  I decided to get up and go into work early to wait for the announcement.  It’s not like I was sleeping anyways.  This next part might be a little too much info and a little weird, but I’m gonna tell it anyway.  While using my body wash in the shower that morning, a little bubble came out of the bottle and floated up in front of my face.  I blew on it a couple of times, just playing around, and watched the bubble drift higher in the air.  Then I followed it as it came back down again in front of my face, made a quick turn to my left, went around to my side, and landed smack dab on the cheek of my Rooker Skillset portrait tattoo on my left arm.  That bubble was like a Rooker heat-seeking missile, making a bee-line straight for him.  I took that as a sign.  It had to be Rooker.
I finished getting ready for work and at 8 am on the dot, I checked Facebook.  No announcement yet.  I kept refreshing Geek’d Con’s page over and over again like a lunatic.  I swear it felt like an eternity.  Then at 8:03, I refreshed the page once again, and I saw Yondu.  My heart flipped, and I damn near dropped my phone.  Rooker was coming to Geek’d Con!
I immediately took a screenshot, and with my hands shaking like crazy, told the Rooker Hookers first.  Then I texted my sister, my mom, my best friend, hell anyone that I could that Rooker was coming to Shreveport.  I couldn’t stop smiling.  For once, I was actually excited going to work.
When I got to work, I showed my boss, who is also one of my best friends and who has to put up with my Rooker obsession more than anyone.  He was excited for me, and I convinced him to come meet him, too.
So for the next 4 months, I waited and waited and waited for Geek’d Con to get here.  I ordered Rooker’s gifts, designed a special shirt to wear that Saturday, printed out some goofy Rooker pictures for him to sign, even had Rooker socks made.  When August 16th, finally arrived, I was ready.
Friday, August 16th, 2019
Geek’d Con was only open from 6 pm to 9 pm that Friday, but I had been told that Rooker would be there all 3 days, which meant I would be there all 3 days. So I took off work early and drove the almost 2 hours to my parent’s house, who live just outside of Shreveport.  I had been a nervous wreck all week.  I guess I was a little nervous about seeing Rooker again, but mostly I was nervous about getting all the gifts I had planned on giving him through security.
I had to get into town early because I had a few errands to run before I picked up my friend, who had also gone with me to see Rooker in Houston last year.  One of the errands was picking up some dark chocolate-covered pretzels that I had ordered just for Rooker at a local chocolate store in town.  I hadn’t planned on bringing him pretzels since he gets those at cons all the time, but these were dark chocolate which I knew he liked the best.  And, boy, am I glad I decided to get them!
I picked my friend up a little later, and we headed up to the convention center.  I wore one of my Rowdy Burns shirts and one of the pairs of socks I had made with Rooker’s face all over them (I had 4 pair, and I mixed and matched them each day, and of course, forgot to show Rooker any of them...AARRGH.)  That line getting in couldn’t go fast enough.  I was so excited to see him again!
Again, my only worry was getting through security with Rooker's gift.  I’ll get to what the gift was a little later on, but the closer we got to bag check, the more anxious I got.  Luckily, we made it through without any problems.
We headed inside and walked towards the back and found Rooker’s table.  He wasn’t out yet.  No biggie.  The doors had only been open about 30 minutes or so.  We walked around a little, and then found a table near Rooker’s booth.  We decided to just sit and wait until he came out.  Seven o’clock came.  No Rooker.  Eight o’clock came.  Still no Rooker.  At 8:40, they announced there were 20 minutes left before closing.  We headed out after that.  I admit I was bummed that he wasn’t there, but that just meant I’d have to go see him extra the next day.
Saturday, August 17, 2019
Saturday morning, I was up and at ‘em early again.  My racing brain wouldn’t let me sleep.  But, I had to be up early anyway to go pick up the rest of Rooker’s gift for that day before the con opened at 10 am.
I had decided a while back that on the Saturday morning of the con, I was going to bring him a bunch of snacks, some from local places around town.  The pretzels and a bag of Zapp's Voodoo chips were a part of that, but I still had two more things to get.
I picked up my friend again and headed to a bakery that I swear makes the best cakes in the world and picked up the little, mini red velvet cake I had ordered for him.  We left there and drove alllll the way across town to get Rooker some donuts from Southern Maid (if you ever get the chance, definitely get donuts from there - they're not fancy but seriously they’re the best ever).
When we got to the convention center, I put all of his snacks in a gift bag (with the no outside food/drink rule, I figured there was a better chance getting it all through security if it looked like an actual gift).  And it worked!  The snacks and the other gift made it through!  My nerves instantly calmed, and I was home free to finally see the Rooker.
We immediately went towards the back to his booth, but he wasn’t out yet.  There were a good many people already waiting for him, but I didn’t want to get in line just yet.  I was hoping the crowd would kind of lessen just a little first so I would have some time to explain all the stuff I brought him.  We sat down at the same table as the night before and waited.  About 30 minutes later, there he was!
Omg, I was so excited to see him!  He was wearing black jeans, a black shirt, and his Atlanta Metro Studios cap.  And no shades!  Which is very important when one of your favorite things about Rooker is those damn eyes of his.
We waited about 10 more minutes, but the line never got smaller.  I decided it was now or never and went to get in line.
While we were waiting in line, there was a person in an inflatable T-Rex costume nearby that had a sign for “Free Hugs".  You probably already know what happened when Rooker saw it.  He escaped from his table and hugged that T-Rex so hard his cap fell off.
When we finally got to his helper, she noticed the shirt I was wearing and busted out laughing and took a picture of it.  I was hoping Rooker would have the same reaction.
The person in front of me finally got through, and it..was..my..turn.  Surprisingly, I was still very calm.  I walked up to Rooker and said, “Hey, Rooker, you remember me?”  He said, “I do!” I put the gift bag of snacks and his other gift on the table in front of him and he busted out laughing.
“What is all this?!”
“I brought you a bunch of snacks in case they don't feed you good here.”
I started to tell him what was in the bag and that's when he noticed my shirt.  Awhile back when Rooker had first started growing his hair out again, Sean Gunn had posted a picture of Rooker with his hair all crazy and called him an “international sex symbol” in the caption.  So, naturally, I had that same picture printed on a shirt with the same caption.  He laughed when he saw it and said, “Ya' know, not many men can pull off that look.”  He took his cap off and started pulling his hair in all directions.  His curls were a little wild.  I said, “I know, but you pull it off really well.”  He was still playing with his curls and I wanted to touch his hair so bad.  So I went for it.  I said, “Can I touch ‘em, I gotta touch ‘em, Rooker.”  He leaned over and I grabbed a handful of his hair.  It's so soft, y'all!
After the hair touching moment, we went back to discussing his snacks. I said, “I brought you some of the best donuts in the world and…”  That’s when he saw a fork in the bag and asked what it was for.  “For this.”  I pulled out the little mini cake and told him it was red velvet (which I had read a long time ago was his favorite).  Y'all he smiled and laughed the whole time.
He immediately came around the table and gave me a huge hug and said I was too sweet always bringing him stuff.  Then it just kind of slipped out of my mouth.  I didn’t even realize I had said it ‘til it was too late.  As he's still hugging me and telling me how nice I am and that I don't have to bring him stuff, I said “Well, I love you, Rooker.  You’re my favorite person in the world.”  Good God, I told Michael Rooker I loved him to his face.  And I don’t really say that to anybody.  Looking back now, though, I'm glad I did.  That man makes my world go round, and I want him to know that.
After he hugged me and still laughing, he walked over to my friend, grabbed her face in his hands, and said “She always like this?  Bringing presents and stuff?”  She said yes and Rooker laughed again.
I went over to the bag and pulled out the little box of chocolate covered pretzels.  I said,” Look, Rooker, I wasn’t gonna bring you pretzels ‘cause I know you get them all the time, but these are dark chocolate ones I had made especially for you."
He grabbed the box, opened it, held it out for the people in line to see and said, “Aww, look everyone.”  That's when one of the best things that's ever happened to me happened.
Rooker took one of the pretzels and held it up to my mouth for me to take a bite.  Unfortunately, I had just gotten a piece of mint gum from my friend not 10 minutes earlier.
I said, “Ew, Rooker, no I have gum.”
I shoulda known Rooker wasn’t gonna take ‘no' for an answer.
He grinned and pushed the pretzel further towards my mouth, "Take a bite.”
So I did.
As soon as my mouth touched that pretzel, he leaned in and took a bite out of the other side at the same time.  We ‘Lady and the Tramp'd’ that pretzel.  His mouth was like inches away from mine.  Gotta admit, I was a little shocked, but I laughed, he laughed, hell his whole line was laughing.  I'm sure my face was redder than a tomato.
As I’m still chewing the now disgusting combination of chocolate pretzel and mint gum growing into an oddly textured rubbery substance in my mouth, he says “Here, lemme have it" and he holds his hand out for me to..spit..my..gum..out..in..his..hand.
I said, “Ew, Rooker, I'm not gonna do that …it’s ok, I'll suffer.”  He laughed again.
Still trying to recover from that moment, I realized I still hadn’t shown him his other gift.  We walked closer to the table, and he said, “What is this?”   I said, “You remember last year I gave you the shot glass?”  He said yes.  I opened the box and said, “Well, I got you these to kind of go with it.”  This time I had gotten him two whiskey glasses made with .45 caliber bullets molded into the side (hence the reason I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get them through security).  On one glass, I had “I'm Mary Poppins, Y'all!” etched, and the other with an ‘R' and ‘Rooker’.  He loved them.  He said they were beautiful and took each one out and showed it to everybody.  He looked at me and said, “At least they’re .45s.  That's the only thing that'll stop a Jack and Coke.”  He made himself giggle.  It was great.
He ended up giving me like a gazillion hugs the whole time and then told me that I got to pick out a picture for him to sign.
I laughed and said, “No, it's ok, Rooker.  I don't bring you stuff to get free autographs.  I have some stuff for you to sign in my bag anyway so I'll be back in a little while.  You know you gotta put up with me all weekend.”
He laughed again and before I walked away, I lifted up my sleeve and asked him if he remembered my “Sexy Thanos" tattoo as he called it last time.  He said, “Yeah, I remember and that ain’t sexy Thanos, that's sexy Rooker.”
I don’t think I could have smiled any bigger than I was when I walked away from his table.
A little while later was photo ops.  I had bought one for Saturday and Sunday.  His line stretched almost the entire length of the convention center.  You could definitely tell that Rooker was the star of Geek'd Con.
The whole time we were waiting in line, Rooker would periodically stick his head out of the curtain and pull the curtain up tight around his face to where his face was all that was showing.  I tried to get a picture cause it was adorable as hell, but as soon as I would get my phone out, he would disappear behind the curtain again.
When it was my turn to take the picture, I went up to Rooker and he put his arm around me and I did the same to him.  Here's where it gets really good.
Usually, photo ops go by insanely fast.  Like seconds fast.  But for some reason, there was a delay between my photo and the one before.  Rooker's event manager was talking to the photographer about something so that left me and Rooker to ourselves for a moment.
If y'all don't know yet, Rooker in a backwards baseball cap is THE sexiest thing on the planet to me.  Last year, he wore one of his Penman hats so I didn’t get to ask him this.  This year, I said ‘fuck it’ and went for it.
With him standing right next to me with his arm still around me, I leaned over and said, “Rooker, will you do me a favor?”
He turned towards me, his face inches away from mine, and looked right in my eyes and said, “What's that baby?”
I..could..have..died..right..then..and..there.  The feeling of Rooker that close to you.  His eyes staring right into your soul.  Lawd help me.
I said, “Will you turn your hat around backwards?”
He gave me a slow grin and said, “Yeah, baby.”  He turned his cap around but kind of looked a little confused.
I said, “I like it better that way.  It's hotter like that.”  Yeah, I still can’t believe I said that, too.  But I felt I needed to explain why I asked him.
He laughed and grabbed me in a big bear hug, the kind that almost knocked both of us over.  He said,” Oh, that gets you all hot, huh?”  I said, “Uh, yeaaah."  Fuck it.  I was being honest.  He busted out laughing again, but it was time to take the photo.  So we straightened up and I said, “Now you gonna have me blushing.”  He grinned and said, “I know, it's great.”
We took the photo and he hugged me again and then held my hand and said ‘thank you, baby’.  His event manager asked if he had seen my shirt.  He laughed and said yes, and held my hand ‘til I really had to walk away.
We immediately got back in his line so I could get my first autograph.  This time, I had him sign one of his old headshots which was him as Zeedo from The Replacement Killers.
Time for a little backstory.  A couple of years ago, I got a new dog and named him Rooker.  Last year I showed Rooker a meme I had made with him and my dog.  He got a kick out of it.  Well, almost two months ago, I rescued another dog that had been living in horrendous conditions at a puppy mill in south Louisiana.  From the first time I saw this dog, I knew he was supposed to be mine.  I got approved for his adoption, named him Zeedo, and he became one of my pack.
Now back to Rooker.  When it was my turn, I went up to him and gave him the Zeedo headshot to sign.  I pulled out my phone and said, “Rooker, you remember last year I showed you my dog, Rooker?  Well, I adopted another dog last month and named him Zeedo.”  I showed him a picture of him.
He said, “Aww.” He looked back down at the headshot and said, “Zeedo frommm?”  He couldn’t think of the name of the movie. I said,” The Replacement Killers.”
He laughed,” Yes! The Replacement Killers! You know when I grow a goatee like that now, it’s definitely not that color anymore.”
He then noticed the packet of headshots and other pictures I was holding in my hand.  He grabbed them and started flipping through them saying he was gonna sign another.  I said, “No, you signed all those last time.”  He said, “I'm not gonna sign all of them, just my favorite one.”  He pulled out the hot young headshot and signed it again and then said something about his resume on the back.  And I still forgot to ask him about clown training!  I’m so mad at myself!
Another backstory - I need to mention that earlier one of my mom's old co-workers had found us at Geek'd Con.  She knew I loved Rooker and had been messaging me about him a couple of months before Geek'd Con.  She stood with us in line during the Zeedo headshot signing.  Before we got to Rooker, we were talking about going to his panel which was in a couple of hours.  She had never met Rooker before or been to one of his panels.  I told her how Rooker doesn’t play by the rules, and there was no way he was gonna sit at the table on the stage.  I don’t think the Geek'd Con folks really had any idea what they were getting themselves into with Rooker, and I was super curious to see how his panel would be.
While Rooker was signing his old headshot, my mom’s co-worker asked him how old he was in that photo.  He figured he was in his early to mid-20s.  That original 1991 press photo I have of Rooker with his soda and popcorn at a movie premiere was also in the stack of headshots.  He saw it and I said, “Aww, lookit that baby.”  He laughed, “Yeah, that young, hot baby.”  I said, “Oh, Rooker, you’re still hot.”
He gave me a tight, squishy sideways hug and we said our goodbyes for the moment.
We snuck in late to the panel before his to try to get a good seat.  My boss had also texted me in the meantime that he and his wife were on their way.  They weren’t sure they would be able to come that particular day, but they ended up making it just in time for his panel.
Rooker’s panel was full of typical Rooker shenanigans.  And just as I had expected, Rooker never sat down at the table and lasted about 7 minutes pacing on the stage before he jumped off and ran out into the audience taking questions.
After his panel, we rushed back to Rooker’s booth one last time before he left for the day.  I couldn’t wait for my boss to meet Rooker.  You know how Rooker and James Gunn are together?  Best friends who are constantly bullshitting one another?  That’s exactly how me and my boss are.  And for the longest time, I’ve been telling my boss every time he fucks with me that someday I would get Rooker to beat him up.  Now, they would both be in the same room, and I could finally get Rooker to ‘beat him up’.
I had Rooker sign that goofy picture of him behind the scenes of “Super”.  He said, “Hey, it’s Super!  I was just talking about Super!  Lookit that expression!”, talking about the silly face he was making.  After he signed the picture, I pointed to my boss and said, “Rooker, I need you to beat him up for me.”
“Whhhhy?”
“Because he’s my boss and he’s mean to me and I always tell him that I’m gonna get you to beat him up.”
Rooker told my boss to give him his hand.  My boss thought he was asking to shake his hand, but instead, Rooker takes my boss’s hand and starts smacking the back of it while saying ‘Bad! Bad! Bad!’ like he was scolding a little kid.
We said goodbye after that and I told him that I’d be back tomorrow to see him again.  I also said, “I have some more things to give you.”  He misheard me and said, “WHAT?  You have more things to do?!” like he was upset or sad I wasn’t coming to see him.  I busted out laughing and said, “Noooo, more things to give you.”  He smiled really big and said “Ohhh..omg more stuff?" and called me a doll and said I was too sweet.   And that was the end of the epic first day.
Sunday, August 18th, 2019
My friend couldn’t come with me to Geek'd Con on Sunday due to work so I drug my 10-year-old niece along.   She didn’t mind though.  She loves superhero movies and she knows who Rooker is because of me.   Plus, I bribed her by telling her I would buy her something while we were there.
We got to the convention center right when the doors opened at 11 that morning, and after going through security, went straight to Rooker’s booth.  He was already out and there weren’t that many people in line at that time, so I decided to go ahead and go see him.  I had my Bud Melks poster for him to sign and another gift to give him.
As soon as we got to Rooker, someone brought him another cup of coffee.  I had to wait for him to pour his new coffee into his old cup, laughing and watching him almost spill coffee all over the place.  When he was done, he asked, “Whatcha got?” talking about the poster I had in my hand.  I unrolled my Bud poster out in front of him and said, “You remember I have your Bud coveralls?  I’m gonna frame this to hang up, too.”
“Yes, you do.  Oooh, this looks nice.”  He held the poster up for everyone to see, and then asked everyone in line if they had seen Belko.  I don’t think anyone said yes.  He laughed and joked, “Well don’t, it’s terrible!”  The line had gotten somewhat longer behind me so I decided to give him his gift a little while later so I wouldn’t take up any more time.
My niece and I walked around some, and I made good on my promise of buying her something.  When we came back around, there were only like 2 or 3 people in Rooker’s line so I went up to give him a gift.  This one needed a little explaining.
I went up to Rooker and gave him one of those Yondu car air fresheners I had posted to my tumblr and Rooker Facebook pages awhile back.  He said, “Aww, what is this?”  I told him how I had found these Yondu air fresheners a couple of months ago and that I had posted them to FB and IG.  I almost didn’t want to tell him that I had a Rooker FB page, but I kinda had to.  I said, “I have a Rooker FB page called All Hail King Rooker.”
He said, “All hail what?”
“King Rooker.”
He busted out laughing.  “Ahh, King Rooker. Okay.”
“Ok, so, I posted these on my Rooker FB, and Kim (who runs the Rookerholics FB page) commented on the picture saying that you needed some for your Airstream.  So, I was like ‘yesss, he needs some for his Airstream!’  So, I go to buy you some, but they were sold out.  And they’ve been sold out ever since.  Soooooo, I’m giving you my extra one.”
He loved it and said, “Awww.  Thank you, baby.”  He took it out of the package and put it together.
I then told him that I had taken out the air freshener thingy ‘cause it was shit and never worked but the little Yondu still looks cool.
We talked a little more and he came around the table to give me another hug.  He then asked my niece her name and held out his hand for her to shake it.  He teased her a little bit about not shaking his hand hard enough so he taught her how to shake hands properly but not too hard that it would break his hand.  I explained to him that she was my niece and that I didn’t have any adult supervision anymore.  He laughed and told my niece not to let me get in any trouble.  I told him, “You know the only trouble I’d be getting into is over here with you, Rooker.”  He laughed again and gave me another hug, telling me how sweet how I was.  And I did it again, y’all.  While he still had his arms around me, I said, “I love you, Rooker.  And, I’ll be back later to give you more stuff.”  He said, “Dammit, woman!” as he pulled away and I left his line again smiling like an idiot.
I had another photo op a little later, but not much happened during that one.  I mean other than the fact that I got to stand close to him again with his arm around me and he held my hand as I walked away, but...
It was nearing the end of the afternoon and Rooker had another round of photo ops at 3 pm.  The con closed at 5 and I was afraid he might be leaving after his photo ops.  I decided to go get in his line one last time and do the thing I had been dreading all weekend, saying goodbye.
I had him sign a couple more pictures, one being a photo of him from Thief, which he filmed in Shreveport.  He was like ‘Oooh, Thief.”  I said, “Yep, you signed my Super (which was also filmed in Shreveport) pic yesterday and Thief today.”  He told me he still has the suspenders he wore in that photo.  I asked if he remembered me telling him that my stepdad was a cop and that he had been working on the set of Thief and met Rooker years ago.  He said yeah, and I explained to him that my stepdad had just retired from the force after like 30 years or so and that his retirement party was in a couple of weeks and it was being held at the same place that he filmed his last scene in Thief.  (The place is actually an event hall and my sister works there now.)  He thought that was pretty cool.  I also had him sign the crazy-haired “International Sex Symbol” picture, too.
His line started to get really long and I felt like I needed to hurry, so I gave him the last few things I had for him, a Shreveport Police Dept. patch, a Shreveport Fire Dept. patch, and a Matchbox car of a Shreveport Police cruiser.  I explained the stuff really quick and said, “This is it, Rooker.  I gotta go.  This is all I got.  I won’t be coming back anymore.”  He grabbed me up in another tight hug that nearly knocked us off balance, and said, “Me neither!”  I said, “Noooo, Rooker, you have to come back.  Please!”  He laughed and said he would.  He then pointed to my niece and said that she’d be full-grown next year when he’s here.  I told him goodbye and walked away one last time.
I swear it was like instant depression walking away from his table knowing that I wouldn’t be seeing him again.  And I know he calls a lot of people ‘baby’ or ‘sexy’ or any of his other pet names and gives hugs to everybody, but damn if he doesn’t make you feel special.  It’s like no one else exists but the two of you when he’s talking to you.  He makes me forget, if just for a moment, all the negative thoughts that I have about myself, the depression, the way I’ll never be good enough for anyone.  He makes me truly..happy, and no one else on earth makes me feel the way that he does.  And I hope that he knows that.  Walking away from him is seriously one of the hardest things to do.
So, again, that’s it.  That’s my second adventure with the Rooker, the most beautiful person inside and out in the entire world.  I’m not sure when I’ll get to see him next, but if it’s up to me and written in the stars, there will be a next time.  I already have some more gift ideas (gotta keep up my sugar mama ways) and another pretty epic shirt design that I think he’ll get a kick out of.  So, until next time, farewell y’all! :)

Undercover ~ Part 2
HI everyone! I’m sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything but I’m hoping that changes this week. Also, I know that this is a short chapter but i wanted to get it done so I can move on with the main part of the story...
                                                                                           - Love from Phee x
Tumblr media
As you strolled through the MI6 corridors, you had your tea mug clasped tightly in your hands to warm them as you had come in from the cold winter air. Taking a sip, you used your butt to open the door to Agent Ford’s office.
“No, Agent Miller, it is unnecessary for you to participate in the Kabul mission and you most definitely do not have the clearance for the current high-priority mission.”
Agent Savannah Miller, a girl who was a couple years older than you with long straight black hair and sun-tanned skin stood rigid in front of Ford’s desk. Agent Alexander Ford, however, looked ready for the floor to swallow him whole as the young agent persisted in telling him about her ‘capabilities’.
“Hey Agent Ford, who now happens to be a single father with a daughter who’s an upcoming actress in the MCU, it’s lovely to see you.”
Savannah turned to glare at you. “Can’t you see you’re interrupting something?!”
You furrowed your brows. “If by something you mean you being rejected by Agent Ford for present and upcoming missions based on your clearance because you don’t qualify for the next level, you should totally be grateful for me turning up and giving you an excuse to stop embarrassing yourself.” You smiled sweetly.
She snorted and rolled her eyes. “Oh please, as if you weren’t going to do the same thing. And becoming an actress? You’re going to be burned.”
Flopping onto an armchair, you flung your feet onto the desk. “Oh you mean completing a mission assigned by the board which includes going undercover as an actress in the biggest film franchise as a part of the Beynin mission? Of course, I’m definitely here to grovel.”
The agent curled her fists tightly before rushing out the room with her file and slamming the door behind her.
Agent Ford looked down his nose at you from where he stood at his bookcase. “Was that necessary, L/N?”
You beamed. “Absolutely.”
He chuckled and shook his head. You had known Savannah Miller since you had joined in the same year and had gone through the training courses with her but she had always been overly competitive, despite the fact you were always one stage above her. Since then, it had been as if you were arch enemies and you always took great joy in annoying her in anyway possible, mostly just because it was funny for you to see her so wound up. Besides, if any agent was ever specifically given a mission by the board it was a big deal; they were like gods because they were never seen and you only got told things either about them or what they had said.
“Debrief now, L/N.” Agent Ford ordered, as he adjusted himself in the seat.
“The audition went great, I’d say considering the comments they said once I was out of ear-shot almost guarantee that I got the role. Sebastian Stan likes me because I speak Romanian, the directors liked me because of my unique skill set. They were all clean as well from what I was able to get.” You were blunt and to the point. “Oh yeah, and thanks for the suite by the way, it was definitely appreciated.”
Ford looked up at you from his files“That was a decision of the board, I only agreed.”
“I suppose they’re trying to kiss up to me since they’re burning me.” You sighed and lent back in your chair, head tilted back.
“I am also concerned about this issue; it is unlike them to burn agents of your stature.”
You looked weirdly at him. “You mean they normally burn agents?”
Answered by a look, you simply sighed again and took a long, satisfying, sip of your tea as you closed your eyes.
“Go home, Agent, you need your sleep and I will make sure that you are informed of any changes in the case.”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The next morning saw you reading quietly, wearing an over-sized t-shirt and warm fluffy socks. The laptop was playing music quietly as you awaited for any alerts on either the case or the results of the audition - realistically, those were far more important. Despite always having loved acting, you couldn’t help but wonder why you were going in as an actress to the operation when it would far more sense to pose as a camera assistant or a makeup artist or, quite frankly, just any thing that wasn’t on camera.
Pulling you out of your reverie, your laptop began to incessantly ping as alerts and notifications began to come through.
You had gotten the part.
As the iPhone next to the laptop began to ring, you quickly picked it up without glancing at the Caller ID. “L/N.”
“Miss L/N, I am calling to inform you that you have earned the role of Anastasia Rzhekaya in the new Marvel film, ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Congratulations. An email has been sent to you detailing all dates and places where you need to be and a copy of the script that you will need to have started learning by next Saturday afternoon which is when we expect you to be on set.”
You blinked. “Wow! Thank you so much for this opportunity and I promise i won’t let you down! I’ll be there. Thank you again for this - you won’t regret it!” You giggled down the phone at the woman.
“Alright ma’am, Have a good day.”
“You too!” You squealed as she hung up before rolling your eyes. You were going to need to get that script ASAP.
You decided to ring Ford and fill him on everything that had happened as you packed bags that were organised by purpose (safe to say, your guns weren’t with your shampoo) and to tell him to get tickets booked so you could fly back out and re-acclimatise to Atlanta, Georgia because it had been a couple of years since you had been there last.
Admittedly, your acclimatising included vast amount of retail therapy that happened to make you walk the city and memorise its layout whilst dining in fancy restaurants at the expense of a certain intelligence agency. In your defense, they shouldn’t have given you an agency card for ‘equipment and undercover purposes’ and failed to take it back, which therefore made it entirely their fault... obviously.
Toast hanging out your mouth, you watched your printer print out your script, which you’d have memorised in a few days. Putting all of it in a ring-binder foler, you placed it in your hand luggage

Tips for Choosing the Right Design for Your Custom T-Shirt
There are a few things to consider when choosing the right design for your custom t-shirt. First, think about what message you want to communicate with your shirt. Are you trying to promote your business? Support a cause? Make a statement? Once you know what you want to say, you can start thinking about the design itself. Here are a few tips to help you choose the right design for your custom t-shirt:
Keep it simple. You don't want your design to be too busy or overwhelming. Stick to one or two colors and a simple message.
Use high-quality images. If you're going to use images in your design, make sure they're high resolution and won't pixelate when printed on a t-shirt.
Consider the placement of your design. Where will it look best on the shirt? Will it be visible from afar? Keep these things in mind when choosing your design.
Use a professional designer. If you're not confident in your own design skills, hire a professional designer to create something for you. They'll be able to help you with all of the above tips and ensure that your final product looks great.

[ID: A 9-page rewriting of The Giving Tree.
Cover: A drawing of a green tree with a green background, one leafy branch extended with an apple at the end. Below the tree a young child stands with their arms outstretched. The tree says, “No.” Written on the tree’s trunk is “The Tree Who Set Healthy Boundaries by Topher Payne. An Alternate Ending to Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree.” Written at the bottom of the cover are the words, “Created for the Atlanta Artist Relief Fund Story Time.”
Page 1: A man stands on the grass, looking up at a tree branch. The first half of the text, seemingly the original text, reads:
"I am too busy to climb trees," said the boy. "I want a house to keep me warm," he said. "I want a wife and I want children, and so I need a house. Can you give me a house?"
The text afterwards looks printed out and taped onto the page:
And the tree said- "Okay, hold up. This is already getting out of hand."
Page 2: A drawing of the tree trunk, which has two hearts carved on it. One has the initials “M.E. + YH” and the other, “M.E. + T.” Two branches of the tree come down and rest on the drunk, like the tree has its hands on its hips. Text reads:
"Look, I was fine with giving you the apples to help you get on your feet. They'll grow back next season anyway. But no, I'm not giving you a house. You know, I've seen boys like you pull this nonsense with other trees in the forest. First it’s the apples, then branches, then the trunk, and before you know it that mighty beautiful tree is just a sad little stump. Well, look here, Boy, I love you like family, But I am not going down like that."
Page 3: The man leans back, looking up shocked. A branch points at the man’s neck. Text reads:
"And while we're on the subject," the tree said, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. "l recognize friendships evolve over time, And we may not see each other as often because you don't have time for your tree friends. But we used to be real tight. Now it feels like I only see you When you need something. How do you think that makes me feel?" The Boy took a long breath. He felt a sour rumble in his stomach. Because he realized he hadn't considered his friend's feelings. "I bet it makes you feel bad," said the Boy.
Page 4: The man stands closer to the tree trunk, talking and smiling. Two squirrels poke out of a hole in the tree. Text reads:
"Yes, Boy, bad. I can't even remember the last time you asked me how I'm doing." "How are you, tree?" asked the Boy. He sincerely wanted to know. So the tree told the boy all the gossip from the forest, and introduced him to the family of red squirrels that had moved into her trunk. While she was glad for the company the squirrels provided, she was concerned about the long-term health effects of hosting a burrow.
Page 5: A person wearing a jacket with a tree insignia sits on a chair, talking on a dial-up telephone. Text reads:
So the Boy called the local arborist, who explained that squirrels don't eat wood, they only build nests in pre-existing holes, so the tree was in no danger. The tree was so relieved. And so was the Boy. He loved his friend and was concerned about her long-term health because she had taught him the importance of empathy.
Page 6: The tree trunk again. Behind it, the arm of the man sticks out, holding a pen. He writes on several sheets of paper. On the grass in front of them is an apple pie. Text reads:
And so it continued, the tree and the Boy looking out for each other like that- Both of them content in the knowledge that someone had their back. The boy attended culinary school. The tree took courses online and got her certification in small business management. They did their homework together nearly every day. The Boy became a pastry chef. Together, they opened a bakery selling the best apple pies anyone had ever tasted. It turned a profit in the first eighteen months, which is most uncommon.
Page 7: The man, now wearing a chef’s hat stands next to the tree, which still houses two squirrels. He stands next to a young child. Text reads:
Eventually... the Boy had a son of his own. And much later, the son of the Boy had his own family too. Because of their friendship, the boy was successful and fulfilled, and the tree grew wider and stronger, standing tall and beautiful in the forest for many many many years. Plus a few years even more than that.
Page 8: A child hangs upside-down from a horizontal tree branch using their legs. At the base of the tree trunk, another child runs past, waving at the tree. Text reads:
And as each generation played in her strong old branches, the tree often thought back to the fateful day when the boy had asked her for a house. In truth, she would have gladly given him her branches to build one. She would have-given him her trunk to build a boat. She loved him that much.
Page 9: A child stands with their hands outstretched, looking up at one leafy branch descending from the sky. The branch drops an apple in the child’s hands. Text reads:
But then she would have had nothing left. Not for herself, nor anyone else, And there never would have been a home for the red squirrels. There'd have been no hide and seek with the Boy's grandchildren. No bakery with the best apple pies anyone ever tasted! Setting healthy boundaries is a very important part of giving. It assures you'll always have something left to give. And so the tree was happy. Everyone was. The End.

you can do once you get into the t-shirt business you need to start looking at some of the other opportunities that are available to you to make money we have a customer base that knows you like you trust you and if you're looking to create t-shirts in a special niche this machine will allow you to do that this along with custom screen printed transfers and just a moment give me just a second here I'm going to show you some things that you can do with this machine again plastic saw transfers t-shirts you can do a whole bunch of stuff with it briefly.
for example I ordered these these are ladies underwear and I imagine they I've seen some creative stuff on the internet as it relates to undergarments people writing method is on the back and guess what you can use this machine the screen print on to the back of this panty.
I don't have anything let me see I mean I'm just putting the Auto numbers you want try just a number here may read the instructions on the application profit there's so much you can do so if you can get creative let's see let me use another I got another pair of panties here I thought I did but there's so much you can do let you do that 10 seconds and says I'm going to put this on here.
you can make money we printed on everything now hold on one second two three now I'm just using it as an example you can get more creative than this I guess this was spirit mom I just want to show you that you really can print on this garment now red is messing up my monitor how to move this clear as it's trying to auto focus or not but there's a lot of things you can do you can get creative with this.
so you can print on the underwear that's number one number two let's see what else they have all types of shirts you know so don't think just regular t-shirts there's I think they call to you some wife beaters this is I guess women use these to run and jog in you can print on the deck again different style of the shirts there's a hundreds of style.
the t-shirts not getting regular t-shirts but you get you getting my point here another style of shirt you know so you can print even now check this out now these are sweats now you can get these wholesale from the same place where you buy these blank t-shirts at now these are wholesale sweats you can print on the lid you can print on the leg going up and down you can print on side of the leg you can put on the back of the leg.
you can put on the back of the bottom let me see if I don't want to mess this up trying to show you something but I don't know but you get the idea there's a lot of stuff you can print on to get creative don't just think t-shirts your customers this is a baby bib that goes around the neck and you get this so you can screen paste like a towel.
it looks like a towel material and there's a lot of stuff you can do with them and you can print on the aprons man I'm telling you there's a whole lot of stuff you can do with this thing the proper the opportunity it's endless so you can you can prey on the aprons and whatnot there's those other panties I found they got different colors different sizes get creative have fun this machine is not only for t-shirts.
you can do a lot now these are methods your bag and I think they call them you open them up and they have all the different compartments on the inside.
you know again you can print on the front of this flap and again you can sit you can sell you can put whatever brand you want whatever method you want on these things.
put on the front panel on the back and let's say for instance you don't want to screen print on to it you can get into the embroidering business you don't need to go out there and buy high-end bra during equipment all these heads and whatnot.
you only need to know the first thing about embroidery there are local embroiderers in your town that will wholesale we're doing broidery for you for wholesale you can get embroidered designs or messages or sayings or words on this thing for less than three dollars a piece I promise you that you know now.
you can't just go buy one buy one but you know in five quantities of six twelve whatever you can build your own line you can be your own brand you can do anything you want with this stuff so remember you are in peril printing business.
you are in the garment printing business that means printing that means embroidering and if you need to use the screen printer because you want to print onto something else like some laundry bags some other vinyl type material material you can you don't have to use screen printing remember.
avenue you want to make additional money you want to make additional profits you can print on the hats now check this out now they have a heat press machine reviews they have a cat press and works pretty much the same but you can set the hat down on the press.
you can print onto it now guess what this is the adidas brand wholesale you can get wholesale name-brand ball caps and you can print and put whatever you want on to it you can embroider that in fact it's a digit low goal has been embroidered.
I promise you they didn't pay a lot of money to get these embroidered you do the same thing with your ball cap you can get them and brought it from a local embroiderer in your town for next to nothing the cost of very reasonable we have them stuff and brought it we had big one we're doing golf shirts apparel shirts here we go it's a great example this is a shirt from Penn State.
it's been embroidered Golf sirs you can get these wholesale as well we did something for the University of Tennessee a big bulk order now they found our website on the web and we took the order now you can get into the same thing so the ball caps I haven't done this on the cap press so I don't know if you can do this but these are little Sun visors but if not you definitely can get them embroidered with a local embroidery if you want to put a message on these as well same bag.
we had but just a different color I get they call a messenger bags again they have all types of different bags these ain't the only bag they have the whole bunch of them.
so you know there's a whole lot of things you can do you in the name of the game its continuing to sell to your existing customer base your customers will buy from you over and over and over again you don't have to always go out there and find new customers just continue to sell to the existing customer base you have just let them know that you have stuff for sale dark colored t-shirts again you can print on the dark colored garments you know that already with the heat press machine and then this here is one of my favorites now my wife is a photographer also.
when we send orders out to our customers we're always inserting stuff in the package so that we can always upsell our customers and additional products now this is a a photograph only if you can see that let me back up a little bit this is a fault this was the photograph and the company that we deal with will take the photograph that you send them you email them the photograph and they will scan they were digitally they will scan the photograph into the machine and then they will take their machine.

I'm like just think of embroidery they will stitch this thing they were stitched the photograph stitch by stitch by stitch through the machine and this is what you get a real nice soft blanket this is nice transfer it on this is not screen print on this is actually all the different colors.
you see are stitches this is some kind of I don't know what kind of materials you think of a throw throw blanket and that and that's what this is you can sell this to your customers 199 dollars all day and your calls wholesale is pretty insignificant now that they dog this is my brother's a wife and and then a dog shot this at the house so I'm just saying saying you can make money baby rubbers I've showed this a whole bunch of times already you can buy these wholesale as well I thought I had some.
I don't know yeah yeah  go I thought I bought some I picked these up from Hobby Lobby because my son I made an earlier video he couldn't wait so we picked somebody baby rubbers up at the store now we screen-printed one of these not scrape we transfer one of these numbers on his this in another test video but showing you this to show you that you can get creative and do the exact same thing.
they've done for the Atlanta Braves this was found in a Target retail store you could do the same thing with your own designs you can get a blue one just like this is blue and make the same doggone thing now that's it may I don't know what else to say if you're not excited yet I don't know what I can say to get you excited you know if you're looking to start and build your own business make money from home perhaps you need extra income to send your child off to college or have extra money in the savings or buy a house the t-shirt business the garment business the apparel business will allow you to do that as you can see with this machine you do not need a lot of space you can do this on your kitchen table when we first started in my one-bedroom apartment to bedroom apartment.

we were the two bedrooms over the one in my two bedroom apartment we had this machine in our bedroom on the nightstand now we didn't have a lot of room and you know but we use this in the bedroom and then you know we eventually moved it to the kitchen table because we're getting a little too busy we didn't have a lot of company coming over side and care how the place look and in fact we didn't have a bed me and my wife slept on the float and the kid had to be in and but we slept on the floor I think we just had just one child at the time so many years ago but if they had a bit you know I opinion I felt maybe it wasn't gonna make us any doggone money so let's use the money and reapply it back into the business and that's what we did don't regret it at all and you know but got to start .
you don't we sell these on our website new this is an older machine we use the newer ones at the office and we have the you know if you want to buy the new machines online on our website you can t-shirt Rich's calm you know but you can buy these used .
because again while I like to make the money I want you to be able to buy this thing within your budget with where you're at right now don't stress yourself out going into debt putting it on your cards card or not like anything like that just get going make some money let the business pay for it and when it's time to upgrade to a higher quality machine.
think about me at that point buy from me you know but we have your best interests at hand if you have any questions about this process don't hesitate to email me post your questions below the video at our website at membership.
