A Love Like War by psychncislover (37,883 - ongoing)
The city of Yokohama was maintained by two Mafia Families. When an enemy targets the Nakahara Family, they find their only hopes lies in an alliance... with their greatest enemy, the Tsushima Family. But their help comes with a price - a marriage between the two heirs! Will both sides survive not only this enemy, but each other?
Only Human by TheGeatCatsby (62,143 - complete)
Shortly after the defeat of Mimic, Dazai Osamu leaves the Port Mafia. Wanting to take advantage of the situation, the government sends Nakahara Chuuya to gain his trust.
carve your love into my skin by Dont_Wake_The_Writer (64,820 - ongoing)
Chuuya looks underneath Dazai's bandages without his permission. What he finds underneath changes everything.
can the city forgive by erytheia (27,658 - ongoing)
Chuuya knows he’s so so close, fingertips just barely brushing the possibilities between them. But Dazai’s the one calling the shots again, and he’s yanking it away, out of Chuuya’s grasp, taking absolute control before Chuuya even knows he’s given it up. Every single facet of their relationship is one-sided, both of them too blind and too stubborn to stop for a second and consider what’s on the other side of the wall between them before they try to tear their way through it.
A Dandy In The Underworld by idontevenlogic (72,606 - ongoing)
Dazai presented the white candle with one hand and stretched his other hand out towards Chuuya. “My life to defend until your bitter end! Through the fire and iron of Hell, I order you to walk with me! I name you—”
Dazai’s eyes fluttered open as a tired smile spread across his lips at the sight of Chuuya’s impossibly stormy eyes widening with the realization of what specific spell the executive was performing. Nearly falling, the Wellspring altered his course in an attempt to flee from the range of the spell, but the power of the sigil’s pull had already latched onto him like a noose and began to pull him back towards Dazai, despite his wounded hollering and ceaseless writhing.
“—I name you, Nakahara Chuuya, my familiar!”
* * *
Or: Nakahara Chuuya returns to Yokohama and is forced into aiding the Port Mafia in helping them capture a mysterious, dangerous hacker from a checkered past. Along the way, he has to adjust to his new life as the familiar to the most infamous warlock in all of Yokohama: the one and only Dazai Osamu.
of bells, coffees, and love in between by KyuBaisu (40,398 - complete)
Chuuya just wants to eat with his sister, but he ends up wearing a gown, make-up, and high-heels in a fake wedding.
Dazai just wants to see the girl from the advertisement he did years ago, the girl with the ginger hair, blue eyes, and a never disappearing annoyed expression.
A Collision of Fates by dgalerab (83,603 - complete)
Dazai Osamu has always known his fate - to become the vessel of the Hollow God, a god hellbent on reuniting with Its lover, the Tainted God, and wreaking havoc on the world.
But that doesn't mean he can't try going on a last ditch effort of a quest trying to stop it from happening.
hide the truth by writingfromtheshadows (24,611 - complete)
When Chuuya wakes up in the middle of an ongoing fight without any memory of how he got there or what happened to him, he ends up turning to someone saved as 'bandage-waster' in his phone. Somehow, it just feels like the right decision.
Gifted by TheGreatCatsby (28,863 - ongoing)
The government's experiments with genetics to induce "gifts" in children is a well-kept secret. Dazai is sent to infiltrate one of the facilities and gather information. He is assigned to be the nurse of one of the facility's oldest and most successful experiments.
Message Received by hellosweetie17 (26,579 - ongoing)
Late for work, Chuuya collides with a stranger on the sidewalk. A stranger who happens to be annoying, frustrating, flirtatious, and even worse—gorgeous. Thanks to a tricky sleight of hand, their encounter leads to Chuuya texting the wrong number.
Dazai Osamu begrudgingly finds happiness (It's a long road) by BlueFlameSakura (34,810 - ongoing)
Dazai Osamu had never even dreamt  about this happening to him, not even his worst nightmares could compare to this. To being married off to some stupid alpha prince as a mockery of a peace offering.
North- and South-Yokohama had been at war for several centuries now, and as much as the brunette would like a bit more of the tranquility peace between their nations would provide, couldn't it have been done with someone else? Or in another few decades?
Well, apparently not.
How to Hornswoggle Death by SecretlyACatLady (20,544 - ongoing)
This wasn't what Chuuya had in mind when he hoped for a big haul. ----- In which Chuuya is a fisherman with an adventurous past and Dazai is a merman who tries to bully Chuuya into killing him.
keep you alive, set you on fire by flyby (23,574 - complete)
Dazai steps out in a dress and heels for a mission, since the gown won't fit Yosano. He's only supposed to spend an hour or so leading their targets on a dance around a charity gala, but the unexpected arrival of a certain Port Mafia Executive threatens to disrupt all his plans. And when he and Chuuya find themselves finally face to face, they end up entwined in a tense game of mutual provocation...
bad enough for you by Maristella (28,555 - complete)
There are two reasons why Chuuya tolerates Dazai: 1.) The god inside Chuuya hates him; 2.) Chuuya definitely hates the god more than the stinking demon mackerel.
Or, alternatively, that one time Dazai and Chuuya swaps abilities, and Arahabaki was never the same.
360 degrees by setosdarkness (11,060 - complete)
Chuuya gets cursed by an Ability that forces him to eternally live out his biggest regret. Unlike the other victims who end up killing themselves or hurting others, Chuuya goes into a coma.
For his biggest regret is—
[groundhog day AU with a twist, where Chuuya relives the day Dazai leaves the Port Mafia over and over and over and over]
black /// reciprocity set by setosdarkness (3,363 - complete)
Soulmate AU where your soulmate mark will only appear on your skin once you’ve fallen in love with your soulmate.
Chuuya has Dazai’s name on his neck while Dazai’s skin is bare of any names.
partners by setosdarkness (27,746 - ongoing)
Chuuya realizes that he’s been married to Dazai since they’re 15: The Fic.
Featuring: wedding fairs, faked marriage registries, angry calls to newspaper agencies for unsolvable crosswords, fake leather couches, love epiphanies and falling in love, not necessarily in that order.
This Way Lies Madness by setosdarkness (41,338 - ongoing)
It’s supposed to be simple. Go in, hand over the questionnaires, wait a few minutes, take the answered questionnaires, get the fuck out. Chuuya should have known, with his shitty luck, that nothing’s ever going to be simple for him.
(—the one where Chuuya inadvertently catches the attention of quite possibly the worst serial killer in history, Dazai) (—police-trainee!Chuuya, inmate!Dazai)
our hearts steeped in hate by setosdarkness (10,202 - ongoing)
Needing to kiss your soulmate to stay alive sounds romantic in context, but absolutely shitty in reality if you’re bound to someone you despise with all your heart and soul.
The act of being human by purplesan (31,457 - complete)
‘This is Chuuya Nakahara, your new caretaker.’ his mother stated. Dazai’s eyes only widened in shock.
‘A robot?’
‘Kind of a degrading term, but yes; a robot.’
Dazai’s glaring only intensified. ‘I don’t need some pathetic excuse of a toy as a caretaker. No one can replace Odasaku anyway. Couldn't you have gotten me a pet instead?’
Chuuya didn’t seem to be affected by Dazai’s insults, which only showed how very non-human he actually was.
‘Stop behaving like a spoiled brat! We could have sent you to a clinic the moment you decided to behave like this, but instead we spent a lot of money on getting you this expensive solution.’
‘You could have spent more money on getting protection for Odasaku.’
(In which all 7 year-old Dazai really wants is to get back Odasaku, but gets Chuuya instead. Though in the end, perhaps the hatrack isn't all that terrible)
chuuya is red hot and dazai is so not by toriosaurus (12,040 - complete)
Dazai couldn't wrap his brain around it. How could the student population think that Chuuya Nakahara was more attractive than him? And, alright, sure, maybe professors shouldn't get caught up in petty drama. But to Dazai, this wasn't just drama. This was war. A war in which he was not going to lose.
The wooing art by holdinglucy (20,940 - complete)
The one where Dazai ended up with more tattoos than he intended to. Or:
Dazai's attempts at wooing the very hot, very dangerous tattoo artist he's just met.
Wrapped up in You by quinnlocke (100,935 - complete)
Chuuya just wants to get through his day as a reptile expert, but there's a bandaged lunatic in his reptile house trying to get murdered by his snakes.
Saving the man's life is a courtesy, taking him home is just asking for trouble.
still still still by toriosaurus (112,578 - complete)
Finally, Chuuya eloquently said, “I don’t want to date you.” Dazai huffed. “Yeah, well, I’m not too thrilled at the idea of having a crazy rockstar boyfriend. But you got us into this mess, you need to help us get out of it.” Had Dazai gone insane? Nakahara Chuuya and Dazai Osamu, dating? Had Chuuya not made it clear through the dozens of direct and indirect meetings that he despised Dazai with every fiber in his body.
Featuring: drunk tweets, falling in love, horrendous song writing, cheesy interviews, learning how to "fake it," and Chuuya getting over the headache that is Dazai. Not necessarily in that order.
where your loyalties lie by writingfromtheshadows (163,126 - complete)
Loyalty is the foundation of the yakuza code, something that was drilled into Chuuya at an early age. However, his lessons did not cover how to manage a political marriage with his organization's oldest rival.
color theory by setosdarkness (2,469 - complete)
Soulmate AU where your heart glows whenever you’re with your soulmate. The color of the glow depends on your feelings for them.
(the one where Chuuya and Dazai make sure to wear layers and layers of clothes and/or bandages just so they can hide their feelings.)
A Heat of Convenience /// A Mark of Inconvenience by dgalerab (19,902 - complete)
PART 1: Yosano won't give Dazai suppressants unless he can prove he's having a healthy amount of heats. Dazai tries to outsmart her. He fails. Chuuya picks up the slack.
PART 2: Dazai gets used to his new arrangement with Chuuya as his heat partner by forcing Chuuya to claim him. It works both better and worse than he expected.
centrifugal/centripetal by TopHat69 (154,138 - ongoing)
[No Summary Available] A/B/O Dynamics
A Catspaw in the Wolf Court by dgalerab (58,357 - complete)
Prince Dazai, a single werecat in a court of wolves, is to be married off to Prince Chuuya, a fox in the kingdom that accepts everyone. He's given one instruction: bring back a defector to the wolves and topple Chuuya's kingdom from the inside.
Things, of course, get more complicated than that.
Counting the Days by Neiro Gin (Neiroa) (23,575 - complete)
How will a certain bandage-wearing ex-Mafioso detective react to hearing that his former partner-who-is-definitely-not-more-than-that has…
…a girlfriend?
“He has been all lovey-dovey with her ever since they came back together!”
“No way! How could any girl fall for that short hat rack?”
“I heard she’s glued to him every single minute of the day. He seems to really like her as well! I’ve never seen him so sweet to anybody!”
“Even if—and that’s a BIG if—she loves him, he’s not the type to just fall in love after only knowing someone for a short amount of time.”
“She’s French.”
“…”
“D-Dazai-san? Dazai-san?!”
Countdown by setosdarkness (31,175 - ongoing)
Eternally-single Chuuya is dared by his friends to date someone. Chuuya eventually agrees, but adds a condition: if the guy he chooses breaks up with him within 10 days, it will suffice as proof that Chuuya’s not meant for dating and therefore his friends will stop nagging at him about his non-existent lovelife.
Thinking that it’s an easy win, Chuuya chooses to date Dazai, his asshole childhood friend who’s known to be a serial womanizer.
Chuuya... is very wrong.
don't you ever tame your demons by writingfromtheshadows (108,592 - complete)
Every year, a handful of children are born with the ability to command supernatural powers. Thousands of dollars and dozens of trained specialists are tasked with identifying, tracking down, and labeling each one as Deviant. Once identified, they have no rights other than those that are permitted to them, and disobedience is a crime punishable by death.
Chuuya has never known a life outside of the routine he's forced to follow, but when the boss of Yokohama's Port Mafia offers him a chance of freedom, Chuuya is not prepared for the rebellion he's stumbling into.
Chuuya Nakahara and the Falling Camelia by Anonymous (12,628 - ongoing)
A new year begins at Hogwarts, and between a nervous wreck of a first year Chuuya met over the summer managing to become Akutagawa's arch enemy upon their first meeting, a pair of second year's younger sisters' complicating things, and leftover tension with Tachihara, Chuuya is in for a hectic term.
Things take a turn for the worse, however when there are rumors about a man eating were tiger, Dementors -- unspeakable creatures who bring back horrible memories and can steal your very soul -- surrounding Hogwarts as wardens and watchmen, and a murderer breaks out of Azkaban, a high security prison in the wizarding world.
Especially when that murderer is dead set on getting his hands on Dazai.
Chuuya Nakahara and the Chambers of Draconia by Anonymous (51,820 - complete)
After a first year full of questions, Chuuya barely gets a moment to breathe before his second year proves the last to be gentle in comparison. With tension among friends and the looming threat of an unknown danger, he'll need all of the clues he can get -- not just for the safety of the school, but for the strength of his friendships.
Madder Aubrieta by hypermoyashi (21,790 - ongoing)
Flowers bloomed, rain fell, and the whims of nature dictated all. This was the status quo that Chuuya knew, and it was a surprisingly delicate order. Change came in the form of a mysterious man he found, woken from an ageless sleep by none other than Chuuya himself.
Margin of Error /// Scale of Success by izanyas (31,416 - complete)
PART 1: After a failed assassination attempt on his person, Dazai finds himself recovering in an unfamiliar place: a hospital where criminals abound, staff and patients alike, and Dazai's own doctor is a little too attractive.
PART 2: Dazai makes due on his promise. Chuuya has to revise his.

The use of persuasive communication style
Ahmed Hamood Al-amri
ID: S116969
Date: March 4, 2019
1- persuasive communication style in war: for example, in World War I cinema makes German public opinion: Among all the mass media, cinema films were the focus of Hitler's attention and the Minister of political propaganda in the custody of Goebbels; The cinema newspaper took the process of convincing people of the fairness of the German cause, of the glories of military superiority in the first years of war, and the film Gazette enjoyed Known as the German Weekly Film Gazette is of particular importance, as it was obligatory for all German cinema pioneers.
2- persuasive communication style in militarism: The American imperialism, where the militarism of the Bush administration, inspired by the neo-conservatives, leads to a crisis of American imperial hegemony, and seeks this hegemonic hegemony to offer an imaginary solution in the form of new weapons of ideological persuasion.
3- persuasive communication style in consumerism: Television is one of the fastest ways to market the product and deliver it to a large group of consumers by supplying the consumer with information about the product by advertising, thus influencing their purchasing decisions. For example, on a Twitter account a man said that his son had asked him to buy a toy because he had seen it on TV, but even though the father refused to buy it, the son insisted on his father over and over and eventually bought it.
4- persuasive communication style in government bodies: Issuing orders and instructions from top to bottom in government bodies and through the chain of communication from the Presidents to the subordinates to guide them and urge them to support their positions using the stimulus system and this is the most common method and use in government bodies.
5- persuasive communication style in PR agencies: Personal communication: One of the most important and most important means used in public relations because it has a significant impact and direct in the process of communication, as well as being a two-way way through which to measure the reaction or level of response to the proposed ideas or orientations or meaningful dialogue. It can also be through visual communications: photographs - movies - television - shows. For example, "Agency Forbes Associates" uses this style of communication.
6- persuasive communication style in terrorism: For example, "Daash" and terrorist groups generally use the method of stirring up anger among young people about various aspects of their lives and the lives of their community. Extremists also use blind obedience to attract young people. They rely on the blurring of their individual and independent personality, their inclusion in the collective mode of thinking, and adherence to blind group ideas and obedience.
Main points:
1- Using a cinema
2- By the neo-conservatives.
3- TV (advertising).
4- From top to bottom.
5- Personal communication + visual communication.
6- blind obedience.
Understanding:
Convincing communication methods can have a positive goal and can have a negative goal depending on the organization or people who use it. I have noticed that most of the means of communication rely on traditional means of communication such as television, cinema, radio and others.

How sustainable is France?
Tumblr media
A lot is happening in the field of sustainability. Certainly not only in the Netherlands nor Belgium. In fact, there are several countries from which we can learn something. Change Inc. line them up during the summer months. This time: France. The cradle of climate action. But what are they doing themselves to achieve the climate goals?
When you think of France, you think of a rolling landscape with grain rolls, fields of sunflowers and fragrant lavender, vineyards and fast-flowing rivers. The country has the lowest per capita CO2 emissions after Sweden. This is mainly due to the large use of nuclear power plants in the energy supply.
France was one of the first countries to adopt government policies to achieve the target of net zero CO2 emissions by 2050. In practice, however, implementation encounters a lot of resistance, as a result of which announced measures are being cancelled again. For example, plans to raise the price of CO2 sparked massive demonstrations that became known as the "yellow vest"[1] protests. Result: the reversal of CO2 pricing and the establishment of a Convention citoyenne pour le Climat (formerly: Convention citoyenne pour la transition écologique)  (Citizens' Climate Convention)[2].
1. Citizens' Climate Convention
To give citizens more say in climate policy, a Citizens' Council was created: the Citizens Convention for Climate '. This Citizens' Council was given the mandate to appoint measures that would make it possible to achieve the climate target of 40 percent emission reductions already set for 2030 and to take social justice into account. The 160 members submitted 149 proposals after six months. In the end, 46 proposals in sometimes watered-down form were incorporated into legal texts by the Assembly at the end of March 2021. It also passed the proposal to include in the Constitution to "ensure the preservation of the environment and biodiversity and fight against climate change".
2. Ban on short domestic flights
Flying to a destination that you can reach by train within 2.5 hours is prohibited in France. The original plan came from the French Citizens' Climate Convention and went much further – banning all flights to destinations within four hours by train. But after fierce resistance from the aviation industry, this plan was watered down. Now only four percent of domestic flights are cancelled and the CO2 profit is minimal. An announced tax on air travel was also dropped after fierce protests from the aviation industry.
3. Ban plastic
France is a frontrunner when it comes to banning single-use plastic. It goes further than the EU legislation prescribes. The country wants a 20 percent reduction in single-use plastic packaging and a 100 percent reduction in non-technical plastic packaging. Plastic for fruit and vegetables, advertisement brochures and newspapers and plastic toys at fast food chains: it has all been banned from 2022.[3] It is also no longer allowed to hand out plastic bottles at public, cultural or sporting events and in public buildings. By 2040, all plastic packaging will be banned in France.
4. World first for hydrogen production at sea
Although France is not a frontrunner in the generation of sustainable energy, it does have a world first in this area. In the estuary of the Loire, off the coast of Le Croisic, [4] the French start-up Lhyfe, [5]  together with the Centrale Nantes engineering school, is building a pilot plant for hydrogen production at sea. [6]  The installation must demonstrate that it is possible to produce hydrogen using seawater and wind energy from a floating wind turbine.
5. Catching up on sustainable energy: shorten permit procedures
France has failed to meet the target of getting 23 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. The gap between the target for 2023 and realization is also immense. Last year, the International Energy Agency (IEA) [7]  calculated that to meet its 2023 target, France would need to deploy more than 6 gigawatts of wind energy in three years and double its solar capacity. One of the main reasons why the country is not meeting its targets is the lengthy permit procedures. But a number of far-reaching legislative changes have been made to change this.

This spontaneous social movement originated in the dissemination — mainly on social media — calls to demonstrate against the increase in the price of automotive fuel resulting from the increase in the domestic consumption tax on energy products (TICPE). The events take place mainly on Saturdays.

The two companies intend to partner in projects involving renewable hydrogen production with both on-grid and off-grid wind power generation, Lhyfe said on Wednesday. Their offshore schemes will be of at least 100 MW in capacity, to be installed on existing fixed structures, or mounted on seabed foundations or floating platforms. Under the arrangement, Chantiers de l'Atlantique will design, build and install the platforms, while Lhyfe will take care of the design and operation of the renewable hydrogen production facilities. The IEA was set up under the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in the aftermath of the 1973 oil crisis to respond to physical disruptions in global oil supplies, provide data and statistics about the global oil market and energy sector, promote energy savings and conservation, and establish international technical collaboration on innovation and research.Since its founding, the IEA has also coordinated use of the oil reserves that its members are required to hold. https://www.iea.org/about

Ouija: History & Mystery
Brief History:
In February 1891, the first advertisement for Ouija: The Wonderful Talking Board appeared in newspapers. It was described as a magical device that answered questions about the past, present, and future with marvelous accuracy. It promised never-failing amusement and recreation for all classes. It was described as: A link between the known and unknown, the material and immaterial.
The boards were similar to those in stores today. The only difference being that the modern boards are made of pressed cardboard and use a plastic planchette; whereas the original boards and planchettes were wooden.
The boards were designed to be used by 2 or more people. You would place your fingers on the planchette , ask a question, and then the planchette would move around and around and spell out the answers to your questions.
The original boards were sold out of a toy shop in Pittsburg, PA. The Kennard Novelty Company was the first to produce the board. They marketed it as both a mystical oracle and family entertainment. The idea for the board came out of America's obsession with the 19th century spiritualism movement. The movement had been popular in Europe for years, but didn’t take off in America until 1848. This was around the time that the Fox sisters, from Upstate New York, were claiming to be communicating with spirits through knocks and rappings on the walls of their home.
People wanted faster results and an easier way to communicate with spirits, and that’s how the board and the idea for it were born. Its been successful for over 120 years. In 1944, 50,000 of them were sold by one New York department store. When the Parker Brothers bought out the Novelty Company in 1967, 2 million boards were sold.
Odd Occurrences:
There are also strange stories surrounding the board.
In 1920, the National Wire Service reported that people were using the boards to try and solve the murder of Joseph Burton Elwell, who was a New York City gambler.
In 1921, the New York Times printed a report about a Chicago woman that was placed into a psychiatric hospital. She told the authorities that spirits in her board had told her to leave her mothers dead body in her living room for 15 days before burying it in the backyard.
In 1930, there was a news report about two women that killed another woman because the Ouija board told them to.
In 1941, a 23 year old gas station attendant told The New York Times that he joined the army because the board told him to.
In 1982, James Merrill won the National Book Critics Circle Award for his Ouija-inspired poem The Changing Lights of Sandover.
Scientific Explanation:
Scientists don’t believe that the board is powered by spirits. They believe it's the ideomotor effect, which is automatic muscle movements that happen without conscious thought. One example of this is crying when you see a sad movie.
Dr. Chris French, who is professor of psychology and anomalistic psychology at Goldsmiths University of London explains it as: It can generate a very strong impression that the movement is being caused by some outside agency, but its not. So, it is essentially our minds playing tricks on us.
Final Thoughts:
Regardless of what you believe causes the phenomena associated with the Ouija board, it remains one of our great mysteries. Is it spirits communicating with us from beyond the grave? Is it our minds playing tricks on us? There are believers on both sides. Perhaps we will never truly know the answer, but the board remains a part of our history and a very fascinating one at that!

Jobs Within the Creative Industry Sector
Advertising
Advertising is a marketing strategy which helps promote to a target audience to sell products and services. Advertisements are set out almost everywhere including newspapers, billboards, TV and radio, websites, and countless other locations. There are two main areas while working in advertising, these being the creative section and the client servicing section. The creative section develops and visualises the product, meanwhile the client servicing section focus on the communication between the industry and the agency.
Copywriters are an important role in advertising as they produce content for clients that focus on selling to audiences through leaflets and social media, this requires a big amount of research as they need to understand the type of audience they are selling to as well as the brand of client. Copywriters often work closely with Advertising directors too. Ad directors are responsible for managing projects and campaigns launched by an organization, they direct all activities in sales, operations, and the technology departments of advertising too. Ad directors pick up information about the client, product, target audience and the require message, which is being sent. From this they sketch up storyboards to convey their ideas to the client. Media Buyers are also a prime role within advertising, their main responsibility is to arrange the price of advertising spaces within print publications and airtime of television and radio. When done successfully, they gain maximum exposure towards the target audience for the least amount of money spent.
Arts and Culture
The arts and culture sector includes two different sub-sectors, these sub-sectors are part of a large group of ‘Arts, Entertainment and Recreation’. The first sub-sector is arts and entertainment which involves theatres, live music, and other forms of performing arts as well as creative arts and writers. The second sub-sector contains museums, galleries, libraries and many more attractions.
Cultural producers play a big part in the arts and culture sector as they essentially bring the art and the viewers together by making it all possible. They usually work behind the curtains and focus on the budgeting, scheduling, customer service and additional organizations. Another role to have in the arts and culture sector could be the front of house manager, this role requires someone with good communication and friendly mannerisms as they are responsible for making sure the public is safe and secure. They supervise the entirety of the front house team and ensures everything runs smoothly, they may also carry out administrative tasks and handle daily operations of their area. They are usually placed on box office, on the door or bar etc. as they must give a warm welcome to their audience and guarantee quality customer service. Another key role is the sales director, they are accountable for meeting expected goals and managing the sales team activities. It is possible for them to be working within the planning and launching of new services.
Design
The design sector is defined as ‘The creation of a proposition in a medium, using tools as part of a process’, this includes examples from engineering drawings, architectural blueprints, fashion designers, product designers and many more. They must focus on achieving certain goals while also thinking about the function, aesthetic, socio-political considerations, and additional information.
The design industry is made up of many different types of designers, one being an industrial designer. People who work as industrial designers combine art, business, and engineering to make everyday products such as cars, home appliances and toys. This job uses a great deal of research to find out the various ways a product may be used and the type of audience who would use it, alongside this they must conversate with clients to decide on the requirements for the design. Another popular job focuses on graphic design, in which visual concepts are created to communicate information through art. Graphic designers can work alongside magazines and advertising agencies to design posters and develop layouts, most of their work mainly depends on the type of company they work for. Within the categories of design holds many more jobs roles, like drafters. Drafters gather and analyse schematic and blueprints to create a draft of an engineer’s and architect’s design. They use software to transform designs into technical drawings and they generally work exclusively in architectural, electrical, civil, or mechanical drafting.
Fashion Industry
The Fashion Industry is the business of making clothes while incorporating its own style, taste, and cultural evolution. Many people may confuse this with the apparel industry, this industry is known for making more ‘ordinary’ clothes that can be bought almost anywhere whereas the fashion industry is more exclusive and is much more expensive. There are countless positions to work in the industry of fashion, a garment technologist being one of them. Within the role of a garment technologist, they are responsible for the correct fit of a garment alongside the performance of it too, they should assess the quality of materials of the final product and carry out a risk report for safety reasons. Garment technologists work closely alongside designers, buyers, merchandisers, and the production team throughout every state of the garment development. Another interesting role within fashion are stylists, this role includes choosing and arranging outfits for different celebrities and models, stylists can also be in control of managing the props and accessories of a photoshoot. In most cases, stylists work beside a team of fashion designers, photographers, hair stylists and makeup artists gathered by the client to create a specific look. Being a fashion Illustrator is an additional role to be done in the fashion industry, this job requires creating sketches which can be made from pastels, pencils or even computers. They produce visual images of clothing, shoes, handbags, and other accessories.
TV and Film
The TV and Film industry is the second most sustainable industry to the UK economy making the UK one of the leading box office markets in the word. TV and Film can be a very competitive industry to find work in though there are countless number of jobs on set and behind the scenes, lighting technicians are a perfect example of making a massive impact from behind the scenes. Lighting technicians hold both technical and creative skills as they can arrange equipment and adjust the intensity of the lights to construct a variety of lighting effects to change the mood and shapes for the audience, a few examples of their effects are spotlighting, strobe, searchlight, and special effects lighting. They mostly work in operating during live music events, theatre performances, television broadcasts, film productions and more. In this industry, there must be a film editor to edit the previously recorded footage. The footage should already be recorded in a RAW format to ensure the editor can do as much as they can. This role involves managing material like camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effect which will eventually come together to create a final film product. Film editors work closely with the film directors to discuss ideas for the final outcome, they also review the planning materials and observe the movie’s progress. Alongside the many important jobs of the TV and film industry, we also have a set designer. This role takes responsibility for designing and creating sets for TV and film, communication between the set designer and production team is important as this helps form an idea of what is expected from the set designer. This role may also include going over the script independently to get a feel of what the set should include.
Publishing
The publishing sector is all about making information and other content available to the public, this can be done through websites, apps, DVD, and many more. Publishing came to be around the same time as the creation of writing, though before printing existed, distributed work had to be copied manually. There are multiple popular jobs within the publishing sector, one being the editorial assistant. This role gains experience within most aspects of the publishing industry as it involves assisting within the commissioning, planning, and production of books, magazine, journals and more. Editorial assistants may take on tasks such as dealing with royalties and issuing contracts, to issue contract the editorial assistant should work with the contracts manager. The contracts manager deals with drafting which is where the contract is first created. Firstly, a suitable template should be chosen, and this will include the information of the authors details, title and specs, royalty amounts and more. Other roles within the contracts managers job would be to track the contracts until the signatures return and review the signed copies of contracts. One of the most important jobs within the publishing sector is the publicity manager, this role works hard behind the scenes of the publication as well as the run up to the launch of the book. They are responsible for promoting the book to make sure the potential readers know about the launch and can be persuaded to buy into it. They may work with the marketing team to hold events around the time of a book launch and attend different book tours or author interviews, they must also actively research into the marketplace to ensure they are the types of readers to show interest in the product.
Music and Performing Arts
The music and performing arts sector include countless creative jobs including dance, film, theatre and more. This sector may be confused with the visual arts sector which focuses on using paint, canvas, and other materials to create art objects. Performing arts dates to pre-historic times and is present in all human cultures. Although there are plenty jobs working from on the stage, the stage crew (also referred to as stagehands or stage technicians) are the people who help the shows run smoothly from backstage. They quickly move scenery, keep track of props and special effects like trap doors, and can often help operate the lighting and sound systems. Stage crew take responsibility in repairing props and building the set, in addition to loading, unloading, and assembling the scenery. An alternative job within the music and performing arts sector could be a choreographer, their main duty is to plan and build up dance routines for performances within live events or TV and film though choreographers may also work with music videos, fashion shows and other events. They should work closely with the dancers to teach them the routine step by step and they may also link with the costume designers to reach the desired outcome. Another role could be a sound designer, they work in the process of recording, manipulating, or generating audio elements for TV, theatre, live music, video game software’s and countless more. Sound designers tend to study the script to collect as much information as they can about the sounds and music it needs before they begin working. The creations of a sound designer is what brings the atmosphere for the story.
Digital Media and Games
Digital media is any form of digital recorded content that is transmitted through the internet, this can be found in the music that you stream, social media apps, games that you play and movies that you watch. Digital media has changed the way we live by the way we discover new products to how we entertain ourselves leading to a huge reduction in the print-based sector. There are many huge roles within the Digital Media and Games sector, one being the games developer. A games developer writes code for games for a variety of formats like PCs, consoles, web browsers and mobile phones. They work alongside the video game designers to take their ideas and turn them into playable games. Another job in this sector could be a multimedia programmer, they work with different feature such as text, sound, graphics, digital photography, 2D/3D modelling, animations, and video to make new products. Usually, they work to the designers’ standards for websites, DVD, computer games and mobile apps. Multimedia programmers also have the knowledge to choose the correct programming language (HTML, Flash, PHP etc.) to make sure the product can be used on different platforms. A third job within the digital media and games sector is an application developer, they usually specialize in one area of development to design, create, deploy, and update programs. Application developers are important as they are responsible for meeting the users’ needs.

Dead puppies and kittens in crates reveal the dark side of China's mystery box craze As a flashlight rolls over towers of boxes in the back of a delivery truck, tufts of fur can be glimpsed through tiny air holes. Those are the luckier animals — other boxes appear completely taped up. Animal rights group Love Home filmed this raid on May 3 in the central Chinese city of Chengdu, during which it uncovered 156 boxes of months’ old puppies and kittens, some of whom were dead. The images scandalized Chinese social media users, who were horrified the animals had become victims of a shopping craze sweeping China called “mystery boxes.” It works something like this: Consumers buy a small box with an unknown present inside — normally, a collectible figurine. Ding Ying, an associate professor of marketing at Beijing’s Renmin University of China, told state-run newspaper People’s Daily the boxes were “addictive,” especially when the prizes were part of a collectible series. “Consumers have an inherent need for closure, thus they tend to [want to] own the whole series once they get one,” she said. But there’s a darker side of the trend. While delivery of live animals by mail is illegal in China, it is poorly policed, according to state-run media. Some mystery box operators are exploiting that blind spot to offer surprise pets delivered to consumers’ doors for as little as 32 yuan ($5). Animal rights groups say it is cruel to the animals, not all of whom survive the trip to their new owners. “I told the young man selling the animal blind boxes that he was making money at the cost of the lives of these animals,” Love Home founder Chen Yunlian told state broadcaster CCTV. CNN Business reached out to Love Home for this article, but Chen declined to be interviewed. ‘Everything can be put inside a mystery box’ As the mystery box trend has exploded in recent years, it has grown to include expensive goods, including smart phones, watches and sunglasses. Major international brands including Starbucks, Sephora and Converse have created their own mystery boxes for Chinese consumers. Social media influencers post elaborate videos showing people opening their “blind boxes” and comparing what they found. On Chinese social media, there is a new catchphrase: “Everything can be put inside a mystery box.” But on some sites, that catchphrase is being taken a step too far. For example, on Pinduoduo, one of the largest online shopping platforms in China, one listing seen by CNN Business offered, a “fresh, little cute” mystery box, which will contain a “random” dog for 599 yuan ($92). The picture attached to the advertisement is of a happy, healthy long-haired chihuahua. CNN Business reached out to Pinduoduo for comment. The mystery pet boxes have also turned up on other major online marketplaces, including Alibaba’s Taobao. Alibaba did not respond to a request for comment from CNN Business. In one post on an undisclosed website, shown in a documentary by state broadcast CCTV, one seller offered a dog “mystery box” for 32 yuan ($5) alongside a picture of a smiling shiba inu. And one social media influencer posted himself unwrapping a mystery box with a random crustacean inside. It’s unclear where he purchased the box from. Most mystery box ads specify which type of animal they’re selling and guarantee a high-quality pet — but it was a different story when the Love Home Animal Rescue Center raided the truck in Chengdu, run by China-based ZTO Express, a delivery company. Instead of pedigrees, they found mixed-breed puppies and kittens wedged together in the small, taped-up plastic crates. The group said on Weibo that many were dead or dying from suffocation and starvation. It isn’t clear which platform they were sold on, but Love Home told state media they had been monitoring the nearby ZTO station for when the animals would arrive. When they raided the truck, it was clear from the labels on the crates that the animals were intended for mystery box market, according to the organization. “Vendors usually stop providing food and water a day before the departure to limit animals’ excretions,” said the Love Home’s Chen on social media. In one box, barely 30 centimeters wide (12 inches), three puppies were wedged together side-by-side, motionless. It isn’t the first time questions have been raised about the quality of the pets in the mystery boxes. In reviews of mystery pet box listings on Chinese e-commerce sites, customers describe receiving animals who were dirty and sick. “[My] dog has been in low spirits, looking sick, and hasn’t moved much since it arrived … Please think twice before you buy these dogs!” one reviewer said on Pinduoduo. “The dog wouldn’t move much and customer service said to let it rest … and it died,” said another customer on the same website. China’s parcel delivery industry has faced animal mistreatment scandals before. In September 2020, at least 5,000 animals, including dogs, cats and rabbits, were found dead in a logistics station in central Henan province. But the Love Home footage and photos outraged Weibo users, who read more than 450 million posts with the “Pet Blind Box” hashtag. “Resolutely resist blind pet boxes‼ ️Boycott live transportation‼” Love Home Animal Rescue Center posted to social media. Widespread backlash A number of listings for mystery box pets have been taken down from e-commerce sites since the Love Home animal rights group exposed the scandal. Others have tried to disguise their products by changing the ad descriptions to remove the word “mystery box,” or labeling them as adoption or rescue services. In a commentary on May 5, state-run news agency Xinhua denounced treating pets as toys and called the products a desecration of life. “Both buyers and sellers should start from their hearts, have more goodwill and more respect for life,” the commentary said. After the raid, the Hong Kong-listed delivery company ZTO issued an apology over the organization’s “misconduct.” “Our investigation found this batch of live animals were sold online and collected in violation of regulations,” the statement said. “The healthy development of courier industry is not on built on strict regulation and safe management but also righteous sense of life and value.” ZTO also said in their statement that the Chengdu delivery facility where the crates were found would be closed, and the company would cooperate with the police investigation. In a statement at the time, the Chengdu postal authorities said they had fined ZTO $12,419 (80,000 yuan) for the misconduct. Despite the widespread outrage and media coverage, just over a week after the Chengdu raid, more mystery pet boxes were found in Jiangsu province, Global Times said. When authorities reached the ZTO Express transfer center in Jiangsu, they found 13 boxes of animals, many of whom were already dead. In response to state media paper.cn, ZTO said the animals found in Suzhou were stranded in the Suzhou center, as they were being returned after it started to rectify the practice of live animal delivery since May 5. Evan Sun, a scientist at the non-government organization World Animal Protection (WAP) in China, said the discovery of a second batch of pet boxes so soon after the initial raid showed ZTO Express had not taken enough action to correct the problem. “For people who want a pet, they should be aware that it is unaccepted to transport animals in such an inhumane way,” he said. ZTO did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the second case. Threat of disease Currently, China has no broad, nationwide laws which protect animals from mistreatment. But in the wake of the mystery pet box scandal, experts have called for such legislation to be introduced. “There is a need to continue to raise animal welfare awareness in the whole society, leading to a stronger animal protection legal system in future,” said WAP’s Sun. “Collective actions are required to end this cruel animal trade.” But animal rights groups and state media said there is another risk from an unregulated, mystery pet box industry — the possibility of rapidly spreading diseases. According to one volunteer from Love Home, who was quoted in an article by state-run China Daily, more than a dozen of the cats and dogs found in the Chengdu raid were diagnosed with diseases, including “distemper and cat plague.” The World Health Organization concluded in its draft report into the origins of Covid-19 that an animal was the most likely source of the pandemic, which has killed three million people globally as of May 2021. China has introduced strict new laws in an attempt to prevent outbreaks of animal-borne diseases in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, including a ban on the eating of wild animals. But state-run China Daily said many pet dealers on e-commerce platforms “simply ignore” inspection and quarantine requirements laid out by the government. Ultimately, if extra attention is not paid to preventing the unregulated trading of animals, the paper said “the suffering may not be restricted to the bought-and-sold animals only.” Source link Orbem News #box #Business #Chinas #crates #craze #Dark #Dead #DeadpuppiesandkittensincratesrevealthedarksideofChina'smysteryboxcraze-CNN #kittens #mystery #puppies #Reveal #side
